I did my own research with the Jheri curl, wave nouveau and Japanese straighten treatment. I did my own experiment so more to come :D. Gina basically used a portion of the Japanese style, but the perm version. I see she uses some of the Milbon products. They have the products that will break the bonds of your hair and you can tailor the strength of the chemical by putting in another formula to dilute the strength. Gina does just that. She tailors the strength of the chemical for different textures and health of your hair. So she could be using different strengths throughout your hair to ensure the health of your hair. All the perm products are using the Ammonium Thioglycolate to get the job done. With her technique she applies the chemical first and the perm rods after. Also when she does the retouches she applies a protection cream to all the processed hair and she puts the chemical on the new growth thus protecting the previous processed hair.
I can see she is giving a lot of care to the hair because it is a chemical process. She is applying the best technique to ensure the health of the hair which results in less breakage and promotes hair retention. I am not mad at that, but for me I just can’t get past the processes of straighten the hair (breaking the bonds of the hair) then forming completely new curls. Well I got curious and did some experiments of my own with the Ammonium Thioglycolate chemical. Why make new curls when you can enhance your own curls. That means no perm rods needed and only applying the chemical to your hair once. That cuts the whole process down. Call me a dare devil, but I did it. I am in the process of documenting results and I will see how it goes. Same chemical just different technique.

I think taking the time to nail perfectly the technic (by mixing by blending a few technics) and tailoring the strength/intensity of the chemicals is exactly what we pay for in other industries (body/mind related). I love you beauties but this is so wrong. I’ve been doing hair for 14 years and I use to do Jerri curls in coming school every week for my clients and for years after that. It’s a Modern day Jerri curl I’ve seen it done. I’m into product formulation, I’m a Cosmetologist , Trichologist and Herbalist. She breaks the bonds with a cream then she uses perm rods to set. When you asked her the difference she talked about the application not the product. The product is exactly the same with minor edits so she won’t get sued and the “technique “ she uses is one we’ve been using for years with no overlapping. Come on.
I’m sure she’s a nice lady but we can’t spread this. It’s a slap on the face to the woman who came before us. This is crazy.

Exactly one summer as a kid I spent time with my dad. He took me to a stylist to get my hair done the 1st summer the black lady styled it fine but SHE CUT SO MUCH off. My mom was upset. The next summer he took me to another stylist. A white lady and she did a touch up (relaxer) and everything my hair never broke off later and she trimmed it but my hair was pretty much the same length. It depends on them as individuals.

Alot fo these salons that do these similar styles, she's been doing them..waayy back in the 70s if you watched the video. She took what was already there, saw where it could be improved and made it her own. We're in 2020, nothing is original. 99.9% of what you think is a original idea has probably been done before. .

Something that you said absolutely hit the nail on the head, that the natural community can be so fickle - we complain about not having non-black hairstylists to do our hair, but here is someone who obviously enjoys and appreciates black hair and is doing a service that black people actually want. After hearing her tell her story, I don't have reservations. Like she's not brainwashing people to hate themselves, she saw a problem and offered a solution. She has my respect for sure. I'm not sure if I would get this because I like hair versatility, and switching it up whether braids, flat iron, braid outs etc. However, I respect any woman (or man or non-binary person) who would want this for whatever reason.

This is the SAME thing. Gina admits that the chemicals are they same. ANY trained stylist knows you only retouch the new growth, even for a wave nouveau. More importantly, in 2020 no one should be paying more than $250 for this style. Gina is charging 3x this, sometimes more! Again, she already admitted that the chemicals are not different, so why the 300% increase in price. I cannot stress enough that this is the SAME DAMN THING. Also, did y’all peep how she’s gonna package a conditioner and styling product, but NOT the Ginacurl. And, you know why, because it’s the SAME DAMN THING as what has been out for years and she will get hit with copyright issues. It’s the same, period.

Honestly, this is a very innovative idea! I appreciate Gina’s willingness to learn how to do black hair throughout the years. Black people are always complaining about white stylists not being versatile, but Gina is doing it. And let’s not forget there black stylists out here messing up people’s hair just as much. The Gina curl isn’t something that I would consider, but I still support it😊

Gina destroyed my hair. My virgin hair was down to my waist when I went to her then after 2 years there was much damage I ended up cutting it to shoulder length. And then years after I went on her ig and saw she posted my before photo as the “after” and said her products “retain length”. Scam

I got the Gina curl in November 2019 and was highly disappointed. I had been natural for 5 years and had never dyed my hair. The curl didn't take to all of my hair so 5 inches of my hair had to be cut out. She makes you sign paperwork so that you don't sue her. It cost me over $800 plus an extra service fee that wasn't told until I arrived to my appoint. The results vary by person! Another woman whose hair was so heat damaged that her hair didn't curl when we but had better results. I was pissed. The aftercare sucks once your hair growths out because of the two different textures. When wet the processed portion of my hair feels damaged, porous and sticks to other hair strands easily. It gets tangled. By the way Gina does not services all clients herself. She has assistants who process some of the clients. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH ASK PEOPLE WHO HAS ACTUALLY HAD THE SERVICE. I could say so much more but don't feel like typing anymore.
Hi Idara, Please give the salon a call I would love to know the extra fee that was charged to you.
There are only two extra fees that we charge and we explain them both in our quote email that is sent to you with all the information about your day.
We add a $50 late fee if you arrive after 30 minutes and another $50 for every other 30 minutes that you are late.
We also explain in the email that we charge a $50 fee if you come in with your hair knotted, tangled or dreaded. We ask in that response email for your hair to be tangled free with a few twists or braids before coming to the salon. The cost covers the time that we will be put behind combing out your hair.
Also, in that letter you are told that we work as a team. It is true unless you ask for Gina and pay the extra fee for Gina alone all the stylist work on you one point or another. (
The extra $100 fee is for changing up our schedule for you).
I'm curious about your curls not taken. The only reason why your ends would not have curled would be because you had previous chemical in your hair and you opposed to cutting your hair before the process. Did 5 inches of your hair not curl the day you were in the salon or did this happen over time at home. Either way if it happened in the salon then we would have done your hair over that day or we would have scheduled for you to come back to get a redo if the case was that you were completely natural which confuses me because that would never happen.. If it happen after and you called us we would have made sure to do everything we can before having to cut your hair. Now if you had previous chemical in your hair like a smoothing treatment keratin, amino acid smoothing, relaxer, texlax and you didn't tell us that's another story. If you told us we would have told you that you will have to cut off the chemical treated hair before getting a Successful GinaCurl and you might have opposed to that,

Ask her how much it cost to make her Gina product. I just recently found out about Gina Curl. I’m still doing my research and have been reading the comments below.
Confused about why some people are upset regarding the price?!!!
Let’s do a breakdown:
First time clients:
Approx $600 - (8 hrs in the chair) - $75 hr.
You return 6 months later for a retouch (A benefit for out of State clients)
Which means you technically only spent $100 a month if you were going to a local salon.
Point Blank her prices are very fair.
In the grand scheme of things, women have spent more on bundles and sew-ins for less hours in a chair.
I would love to try Gina Curl and wish her business great success. Please let us know if you return to NC.
From testimonials and dming the girls personally the avg. no less than $800 for kinky shoulder length when stretched hair.
There’s a girl on UA-cam who was $950 as a first time AND each retouch is that price. That’s without travel coming from out of state, some people even fly from Europe to see her.
Regular relaxers and jheri curls don’t cost this much and her chemicals are almost identical. She’s just learnt how to nurture hair and she’s the goat at marketing hence why she’s even on the is channel.
Good weaves you can reuse you will always have the tracks $1000 raw virgin hair will last you 2 years minimum. Good install in England anyway no more than £50.
If you wanna talk value for money. Weaves win every time, box braids win every damn time.
By your logic box braids should cost $450+ for the amount of time it takes and how long they last. She doesn’t do every single person herself she still outsources and is able to see very many clients. Not like your local salon.
She’s a lovely lovely lady but definitely greedy with the pricing. I don’t blame her. There’s people silly enough to spend that on their hair but not towards things that will last and make them comfortable in old age.
You can’t afford something unless you could buy it comfortably it if it costed 3x the amount. And most of those girls really struggle you can tell by how long they leave between retouches. They’re looking raggedy by the 4th month. Just look at the IG page of those revisiting.
If you fall into the category of genuinely being able to afford it without sacrifice and saving up for it and taking money away from something that will build your portfolio go for it. The results are mostly amazing. Fantastic. Clients are genuinely happy but the pricing is appalling!
Are white girls paying this price to get their hair bleached or permed? No. We’re just an easy op b/c we’re so insecure about our hair.

My auntie was a beautician and she applied the curl corrector cream first, rinsed, curl rod it, applied curl curl setter, put us under dryer, rinsed, took rods out, apply moisturizer/lotion. That was in the 80’ and 90s. She never applied cream while the rods were placed. Gina ain’t doing any different technique! If so, then her technique should be called the Jean Curl!!!!
There is a chemical applied to the perm rods with every curl on the market today. What is a curl curl setter?

I really appreciate Gina’s knowledge and decades of experience. I enjoyed hearing about how she got her start with black hair care and I can tell she is a genuine sweet heart. Plus I love old school healthy hair stylists. I’ve seen Gina’s work in Titi Lavish’s videos and her hair is long, healthy and amazing. Anyone who believes this is just a Jheri curl is delusional. This is a chemical that many women (black, white, Asian, Latina, etc.) choose to use on their hair. She uses a unique process with this chemical for black women’s hair and actually had a healthy result. If you don’t want that, or think it’s just a Jheri curl then don’t watch her videos. I couldn’t care less about what color she is. The fact that she cares enough about our hair to do what we want to it in a healthier fashion says EVERYTHING. Also, I appreciate what she’s doing, but not all of us have that type of money. I’m a college student and to pay over $950 to travel and get my hair done is actually ridiculous

I need your help with these. I won't do all of them but if you can turn these upside down and call them the same name then I might be able to understand what you're trying to say... q, n, w, p. The simple fact that I get different letters by changing absolutely nothing structurally about these letters and still get different letters if I turn them upside down then I have to call them different names. Maybe you call this (d) an upside down 'q' but to everyone I know it's the letter 'd.' Just the inversion makes them different. I'm not sure about your Jheri curl knowledge but I could never stand a Jheri curl in my hair for the simple fact that it has to be maintained wet. It's the only reason I wouldn't get one... well, and I don't know if it burns or if my hair would break off... so, three reasons. Not sure why you're referring to her technique as "so called" but you're right... "people should get their hair done anyway they choose," they should also pay whatever price they choose to get the "so called" technique they choose, if they believe it will make a positive difference in their lives. As long as you're offering a high quality product or service, you should be able to charge whatever you feel is right! If you cant afford it, then don't get it. There'll always be people who see the value in it and are willing to pay the price that it goes by.

So is she using a small independent lab to formulate her products? I'm confused I heard her mention a chemical safety sheet. So is she making the chemical mixture fresh in the back? Is it fda approved? I don't care what color a stylist is im concerned about skill safety and price.

It might be that she combining two different techniques of relaxing. So maybe her mix of the cream is different. She probably wants to grow the brand to other salons. You need a lot of research to prove your claims for that. Plus she adding her own line of products
I work in the medical field and Im familiar with hearing the term "material Data sheet". So basically this is a form that must be displayed in any building that houses a chemical whether it be a medical facility, salon, retail store that sells chemicals etc. As far as her using a lab. She sounds like she eluded to that she may have divised the product either in her home or a clean location. Once she comes up with the product ofcourse she would then have to contract with a lab facility to do final chemical testing ( per government safety laws) and to produce and package the product in mass to salons or retail ( whereever she decides to sell it). She didn't say all of that but Im just breaking it down for clarity. Lets say you bake great biscuits. You might test several receipts at home until you get the best result. Then you find a test kitchen and company to help you perfect the receipts then package the biscuit mix for mass store sales or restaurants use.

When it comes to buisness they will never tell people the truth of the negative effects, so asking her instead of the women who literally got it done is like banging your head up against a wall. The Japanese straightening chemical which is a thio or perm is stronger then a relaxers produced for black hair. This is because Japanese hair is stronger. It is more difficult to breakdown. Afro hair is more delicate. This is especially true due to the fact that many of us have high porosity hair. Therefor the cortex lifts more easily and chemical enters which can lead to breakage. Her technique may be better, but that chemical is more corrosive to Afro hair. Hello ladies you are not suspose to apply relaxer to the ends either. It a licensed cosmetologist did that they need to go to someone else. A wave nouveau doing the same application technique would cost $110.00.

The fact is the only reason Black women are paying those prices is BECAUSE she is deceiving them. Otherwise, almost no one would go to her and she knows it. It doesn't matter that she is White or using an old product and process per se. The main issue that people have(as do I) is that the price is excessive and exploitative for what is an old school, inexpensive chemical treatment used by Black shops for years-PLUS she IS trying to claim that what she is doing is unique(her words) and not properly giving credit and attributing the source. She admitted that is the same chemical, and as for the application, there are others who don't double process and avoid overlapping. I rarely use the term, but this is the definition of cultural appropriation. She's actually been doing this for more than 20 years. I used to live in CT back then and had a friend who was Black but used to do her own thio box perms at home and didn't know where to go to get it done professionally. I did some research and found this lady. From what I remember, there was no special name for this service, nor was it particularly popular then. Her salon did a wide variety of hair types though back then, there weren't many Black people getting their hair done there (not many in CT anyway). She charged far less for it then(what the price of a normal curly perm would be). She also did Japanese hair straightening (pretty much another thio). Her service was simply a thio curly perm, kind of a combo between a regular White curly perm and a Jheri curl/Wave Nouveau. I was shocked to see the price now, what her claims are, and also that no one figured this out. The aftercare is not revolutionary and is basic. Her argument about how she came up with the price is not logical as well. I would have more respect for her if she said what it is, that she is doing an old school thio perm and not a revolutionary new service (which it isn't) and that she charges such high prices because she wants to make as much money as she can. It would still be unethical though because of the deception.
She's sweet but I know hair dressers that were doing the same process in the 90's I don't buy that it is not the same process. History repeats itself with style and trends and also so. This is not a new process.

This was a much better way to discuss the Gina Curl than your part 1 of this video segment. I'm really glad to see that you interviewed Gina about her own product instead of the speculative approach you took in Part 1. Kudos to you both! And major Kudos to Gina Rivera, my personal hair care specialist and will continue to be until she retires. I am a Gina Curl girl for life! And now everyone knows Gina Rivera is the real deal! As you heard and saw in this video Gina Rivera has been keeping it real since the 70s... And about the price issue, I spent 10 hours getting my Gina Curl done by Gina and her assistant (4C mid-neck length hair). When I average the cost of doing my hair by two people working on it, its less than I make per hour. You can read more about my Gina Curl experience on Part 1 of this segment if you care to. But for me, Hands down, the Gina curl is the best decision I have ever made for my hair!
Gina Rivera and the Gina Curl..are the real deal! Can't wait to go back next week for my retouch, 10 months after my first Gina Curl...yeah...it's that good...seriously. My hair is long and strong, past my shoulders and should be at near mid- back level when I go back for my second retouch next January or February.

We were learning about the Gina Curl because we were intrigued by it. We also we constantly asked about our take on it, so we did a video on it, hence part 1. We're proud of our first video ( not necessarily some of the comments), it was a video showing us trying to understand what this new service is and sharing it as well. Without part 1, we wouldn't have part 2 which we are equally as proud of because we were able to speak to Gina, who we can tell, is such an amazing human being as well as a great hairstylist :)

She’s charging almost $1000 of course she would...... as a person who had a jeri curl in the 80’s this is just that. The technique is slightly different, but only slightly.... I will believe if she’s a stylist for black hair when I see other hairstyles and treatments. I only have seen her work with this chemical treatment only. No press and curl, wraps, silk press, etc. Her job is to sell it and she’s doing a good job of that. Something is off about her. Can’t put my finger on it. I have a white stylist who does all types of styles well.... black women can be so naive.

My mom used to do Jheri curls, but in the last 15 years, she started applying the neutralizer only. The curl is not wet and looks so natural. It is beautiful and helps the hair grow so long. Most people who do Jheri curls would understand this, but we can reasonably say it is the same products - just different steps. Jheri curls were over $100 when people did them in their house in the 80’s, so it’s not surprising that it costs a lot. It reminds me of a Leisure Curl. Basically, Jheri curl is to Gina curl as Relaxer is to Telaxer 🤷🏾♀️

I’ve watch a videos about the Japanese perm and noticed in a retouching video they used a liquid to cover the processed hair and prove double processing. Dose the Gina curl have a similar method or is it just based on where the new growth ends?
I got the Gina curl done. I have medium density but my strands are fine. She can change the formula based on your hair. I think because of my density, on me she tried the standard formula first but the standard formula made my hair process super quickly so she washed that out and used the softer/not as strong formula for my hair and that worked better. She made a note for me so that next time I come she knows to use the softer formula. My hair is great, I’ll probably do a straight variation next time, but my hair is manageable, it’s soft and even with 3 months of new growth I don’t have breakage, no line of demarcation, still pretty simple to detangle. If you want a chemical in your hair - I recommend Gina Curl.
What do you put on it afterwards? Do you still have to wear the jerry juice? Is it greasy at all?

My hair had been natural for 15 years, the only chemical I had was a rinse. For some strange odd reason I wanted a jheri curl, my stylist convinced me to get a wave nouveau, she said people don't do jheri curls anymore. Sorry to say my hair came out by the handfuls, an entire lock of my hair came out and my beautiful hair is a hot mess now. I don't blame my stylist, I think it was the product. I wish I had know about the Gina curl before I got the wave nouveau, because I would have invested in that instead. Now I have to do a big chop and start all over again.

Gina is amazing and what she does for people is even more amazing. But the price is ridiculous and the fact that it increases as your hair grows is even more ridiculous. It should be affordable and she would get even more clients. There’s no reason she should be charging over 200 dollars.

A jheri curl, a carefree curl, a wave nouveau it all grows your hair because its the moisture that is used to maintain the service that prompt growth. I believe it is ALL HYPE!!!! I don't care what color your are if its a dressed up jheri curl that's what it is. I feel that she is adding unnecessary time to make the clients feels she doing things that is so significant to their hair when its just really isn't. Everybody could grow hair with a jheri curl back in the day. The service never broke anyone hair off if done properly and care for the same. You couldn't use heat on the jheri curl either, it would cause damage. The same holds true for the Gina Curl. The New Era came out with a gel reversal kit for the curl to transform it into a straight style with minimal shedding. Gina growing out the twins hair isn't magic to me its more gimmick when they hair would have grown with the same chemical anyway.

Your new growth will always grow in natural. So if you no longer want the Gina curl then you just transition back to Natural.

I don’t have any problem with Gina or her prices (since this process seems to take 8 hours or more). It just saddens me a bit that women who took the time to grow out their natural hair are putting chemicals back into it in order to imitate a looser curl pattern. I feel like the natural hair community’s obsession with curl definition and emphasis on 3b-4a curls has gotten into the heads of some of our 4b/c sisters and caused them to think there is something wrong with their beautiful hair. Don’t get me wrong, if the Gina Curl makes them happy, I’m happy for them. It just makes me a little sad and disappointed is all.
In some cases, that could be it, but maybe they just can't or don't have time to manage a tighter curl. Alot of women are great at maintaining their 4b/c hair, and some just aren't. I don't think it's them thinking that their hair isn't beautiful, they probably aren't able to take care of it the way they should, so the Gina Curl is an option they have. My hair when it was natural was beautiful, but I can maintain my hair better when relaxed and I love it relaxed as well. I see what you're saying , but just wanted to give another perspective :)
yeah this is where i'm at with it.
As a woman with 4C, DENSE, low porosity, full shrinkage hair. I don't have the energy to spend 1-3 days attempting to achieve the style I want and don't like applying lots of heat either, making sure my braids & twists are thoroughly dried before I remove them and PRAY that my style comes out as intended. I can't continuously handle my fast-growing, full natural fro being out, catching dust and burrs from God knows where, bc any hint of moisture in the air, even at 0% humidity, will frizz and matte up in a heartbeat. Not even gonna start with the qualms about fairy knots.
1 day, 1 roundtrip flight (using Airfordable, so it's NOT 1 big payment), 1 hotel stay/AirBnb or find a friend, 1 payment, and 1 purchase of hair products to save me time/stress for the remainder of the 364days of the year. I see no issue there.
Im sorry but I do think that she is capitalizing on something that already exists and she shouldn’t charge so much, she even said it herself it’s the same product but different technique. And I believe that other hairstylist are well equipped to do this! But right now she is the Only one in the states doing this technique the proper way. I see plenty of UA-cam's of ladies going to get a curly perm, wave nuveau etc and hair falls out after 2 months. Gina uses proper technique while applying chemicals so she deserves that money she is stacking up. I used to get relaxers and my hair was so Damaged until I met this ONE stylist that grew my hair out way down my back with proper technique of applying relaxers. Not only my hair but everyone that sat in her seat. She is highly successful, she has relocated miles away from me and now I do my own hair. Don't trust anyone else. A stylist that knows proper techniques for Everything and uses the creme of the crop products, IS EVERYTHING TO ME and I would pay TOP DOLLAR.
Licensed cosmetologists especially black licensed cosmetologist are very on edge with this because it’s really nothing new and it seems like another rip off in the black community. She pretty much dissed wave nouveau, and other chemically curled hair systems when she said (2:52) “I refused to do wave nouveau, carefree…because I knew what it was gonna do to the hair.” It’s her competitions on top of that they were created by a black man. She explained how her system differed from the original Jherri curl- a system that was discontinued by all practicing stylists decades ago-but didn’t explain the difference between her system and wave nouveau and care free curl.
Instead she lied on wave nouveau and care free curl bc she stated that during wave nouveau and carefree curl chemical is applied at the beginning to straighten the hair as well as after the perm rods have been inputted into the hair, which is not true. The only thing that is applied to the hair after perm rods have been put in during wave nouveau or care free curl is neutralizer for oxidation.
Is it possible her instructors did not teach her how to properly do the wave nouveau or care free curl because no knowledgeable stylist reapplies “more chemical” to the hair shaft after the perm rods are set when doing the wave nouveau or care free curl nor do they apply chemical to already processed hair.
Black people have been getting what she now calls a Gina curl for decades, whilst also keeping healthy hair. It’s disrespectful for her to insult and lie on the techniques of wave nouveau and care free curl to boost her brand.
Notice how she marveled over how she was able to curl her Black friend’s hair and the curl stayed! Yassss!

I have a question about hair maintenance with the Gina Curl that I haven't seen addressed yet. I've tried reading through the comments for an answer, but the negativity is startling to me and I'm becoming despondent by our community, so I can't imagine what it is like for @TwoLaLa and Gina. I get skepticism, but the personal attacks are unfortunate. Based on the first video, there was a statement about not being able to braid hair etc. My question is once you have the Gina Curl, can you do styles such as twist outs, cornrows, braids, larger perm rod sets, blowouts etc.? Although the hair is curly, these styles can provide refreshing versatility or add more dimension to curly hairstyles, which is an advantage to having naturally curly/coily hair.
This is literally just a Jerry Curl with a very very slightly altered “technique”. Im not knocking it AT al because the work is beautiful. But lets not get confused lol. And this is a perm with an added curl chemical.
Is Gina planning on selling the chemical in stores? Relaxers aren’t the safest but people do it at home. Would love to try to do this myself as I know a lot about hair.

Gina/Jeri curl same thing! The difference is there's a neutralizer still being placed on your hair however instead of putting them on the poem rods she's putting it directly on your hair, Gina perm rods your hair which is why you're under the dryer to set the curl. Also with Jeri Curls you had to cut off any previously permed hair as well! Talk to any Stylist that did Jeri curls back in the day they'll tell you Gina curl is nothing but the Jeri curl.

Any hair service is priced by TIME, expertise, & products. The same way you pay $800 to get your car fixed & the part is on $30 - the $770 is labor (diagnosing the problem, taking your car apart, fixing the problem & reassembling the car). Not sure how long it takes for a Jheri curl, wave nouveau, or other curly perm but I suspect if it’s less money, is less TIME in the chair. All skilled tradespersons are charging for their TIME, products, & expertise. I saw on another video where the young lady said it took 8 hours for her Gina curl. EIGHT hours? Okay, I don’t know on what planet anyone expects to take up 8 hours of a stylists time & not pay for that. Someone can let me know which planet that is cuz it ain’t on earth ... 🤣🤣🤣

She has a licensed professional in my area who took her course. I wouldn’t care if she was pink and l may catch a quick flight ✈️ to Connecticut if l decide to get one. People can do whatever they like with their hair and money 💰. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I choose not to wear Asian or Brazilian hair shaved off of someone’s head , swept off the floor and made into a $500 wig but l don’t knock the black women who do. Who cares about her race? Can she do my hair or not?! That’s what matters people. Technique is everything, if anything we need to encourage other races to learn our hair so we have more options on where we go to do our hair. I know personally I can’t find any hair stylist by me that can do my hair 🤷🏽♀️ they don’t “specialize” in black hair. We need more people like her, that not only love black hair but understand it! 👏🏾

But then I heard I put a style or a product in their hair that grows it. Ok. The next thing I really heard is when it grows I charge more. I'd like to know what she meant
when she said it is a product from Japan or a Japanese product and her procedure. I know that we buy Japanese

@@lakishastitt12 as of now, Gina is the only person in the world doing her technique, so the only way to get a Gina curl is to take that trip to Connecticut. If your willing to wait a while, you can wait to see if any stylist in your area will get certified.
Thanks for doing this, I am a Gina Curl client and I can attest to everything she said. Once this pandemic is over I will be getting my first retouch which is long over due. Gina and her entire staff are wonderful, straight forward honest people. I would not drive 7.5 hours and spend that kind of money for nothing. I'm Canadian, so for me it's a hell of a lot of money.

The doctor here in Virginia was the sweetest person that care for his clients as well. Everyone had nothing but the nice, complimentary things to say about him. Yes, he was on the news for giving close to 500 unnecessary surgeries to unsuspecting women. However, they all loved him though. He's about to do a lot of prison time right now. Also, remember when people can get tons of money out of you, how do you expect them to treat you? Especially when their scamming you.

She is still using the same technique that the creator of the Gheri Curl created. Im happy that she styles our hair, and every hair stylist should be able to do all hair types. However, it sounds like a Gheri Curl. She is making her customers happy, and I guess that's all that matters.
