Natural hair takes alot of work to grow long. You can be lazy not even sometimes or you will introduce breakage. This curl helps because it helps you no longer comb roughly (breakage). It forces you to keep it hydrated.
We all aren't truly natural anyways. There's some kind of chemical in the products that we use. If you're hair isn't manageable as you like it to be, then this may be for you. Thanks for sharing.

My question though is with the new growth that comes in. How is it dealing with the 2 different textures? Do clients see alot of breakage at this point? Do the 2 textures have to be treated or taken care of differently?
You will get normal shedding but there are no bends made in your hair because it is not applied to the scalp. Bends are created because chemicals were applied to the scalp in the past. This doesn't happen so you will get no breakage at the line of demarcation.

This is nothing but a 1980s curl reform perm. Repackaged of course. While the process is damaging, double processing. Relaxing then chemically setting it on rollers, u can retain length because you have to keep your hair hydrated...like with natural hair... like in the 80s many people had very long hair with curl reform/jheri curls. The chemical process, like any chemical is bad but of course with up keep I’m sure fine. Nothing is new under the sun, repackage it and I’m sure it’ll sell like new.
Hey Jess , we don't relax the hair not do we apply chemical to the perm rods. This is a perm , it is a curly perm and it is so very different than the rest!!!

A relaxer was made to relax hair not make the hair bone straight. That has been the problem for years. Thank God stylist now are taking relaxers more seriously and understanding the true reason why they were made.
Beautiful results but it looks like the curls of the 80s or a Wave Nouveau. It looks like her hair was straightened before rolling, something was put on the hair before the rods and then she was rinsed dried a bit and neutralized. I'm confused and don't know how this is process is different.
Marian Robinson I agree, I believe the ends are not processed with the straightener (stage 1) or a barrier is put on the ends to stop it being over processed. Other than that it’s the same as wave Nouveu
Lets say 2 years from now I stop getting the Gina curl will I have to cut my chemically processed hair off? Like how bad will the breakage be? When I was transitioning there was a line of demarcation where my natural and relaxed hair meet that will always break off when I detangled

No not at all. we have 6 strengths, and we can use different strengths to meet the different porosity levels down the hair stand. So say you have 3 inches of natural hair and then the rest colored and the ends over processed or damaged. we can use three different strengths down the hair shaft.
Gina, please can u create home kits for us who live out of the states. Like me I'm in new zealand. It's so sad I can't even get a proper hair dresser for my natural hair nor get a Gina curl 💔.

So she doesn’t have any relaxer or anything because I see the new growth when getting it washed but the rest of her hair looks like she had some kind of straightener to the hair above the new growth but she sat you can’t do this with a relaxer only natural hair

Is this recommended for fine 4a/3c hair? My hair tangles and breaks itself so I can never retain growth unless I keep it in protective styles constantly. I don’t want to lose my curls or pattern at all I just need it to stop breaking on itself.

no that's the difference between Gina's CURL and the rest. We have time to protect the previously treated hair while applying the chemical and there is no other chemical being applied to the rods so the ends are not being compromised with every retouch.
Most deposited color does tend to stain white sheets, however with the Gina Curl we do NOT recommend high LIFT color. The curl will not take over hair that has been previously lightened.
Only natural, but we service a Straight Variation (SV) to help you grow out your relaxed hair. Once the hair is at your desire length we cut off the relaxed hair. The SV is similar to a texlax although we use the same chemical as with the GINACURL so the hair will curl over a SV.
There is no comparison between the jheri curl and the GINA CURL. The technique, the chemical, the softness and the length retention make a world of difference. With the jheri curl or any other curl on the market, there is no way of isolating the previously treated ends. The chemical is applied to the perm rod, so each time you go back for a re touch, your ends are being processed again, and will become over processed. With the GINA CURL it can take up to an hour and a half to process the hair, so even in the rinsing stage, the ends don’t have enough time to absorb the chemical and become over processed. Also, there is never any chemical other than the neutralizer applied to the perm rods. You don’t have to wait days for the curls to activate, after your chemical service. I feel like a white person cannot give advice on how to do or get rid of black peoples hair struggle like you do not have our hair type or don't know enough about our hair texture to give us advice on it
Feelings do not equal facts. I'd trust her with my hair. Why, you ask? Because, she has over 40 years experience working with our hair texture. And from what I've seen, none of her clients' edges are snatched. Feel free to continue getting your edges snatched by your kitchen beautician. But as for me, I'll be making a trip to Connecticut.
Black stylists do the hair of people with completely different textures. In my opinion anyone who is respectful and well educated in keeping African textured hair healthy is welcome to provide their services.

I've been natural for 11 years. The stylist is Caucasian. She did an AMAZING job! on my textured hair. I will be seeing her on a regular. My question though is with the new growth that comes in. How is it dealing with the 2 different textures? Do clients see alot of breakage at this point? Do the 2 textures have to be treated or taken care of differently?
You will get normal shedding but there are no bends made in your hair because it is not applied to the scalp. Bends are created because chemicals were applied to the scalp in the past. This doesn't happen so you will get no breakage at the line of demarcation.

You would be surprised at how easy it is to take care of even with several inches of new growth, And no breakage.

This is nothing but a 1980s curl reform perm. Repackaged of course. While the process is damaging, double processing. Relaxing then chemically setting it on rollers, u can retain length because you have to keep your hair hydrated...like with natural hair... like in the 80s many people had very long hair with curl reform/jheri curls. The chemical process, like any chemical is bad but of course with up keep I’m sure fine. Nothing is new under the sun, repackage it and I’m sure it’ll sell like new.
Hey Jess , we don't relax the hair not do we apply chemical to the perm rods. This is a perm , it is a curly perm and it is so very different than the rest!!!

A relaxer was made to relax hair not make the hair bone straight. That has been the problem for years. Thank God stylist now are taking relaxers more seriously and understanding the true reason why they were made.
Beautiful results but it looks like the curls of the 80s or a Wave Nouveau. It looks like her hair was straightened before rolling, something was put on the hair before the rods and then she was rinsed dried a bit and neutralized. I'm confused and don't know how this is process is different.
The ends will never be compromised over and over like all the rest. so no over processing!!

No not at all. we have 6 strengths, and we can use different strengths to meet the different porosity levels down the hair stand. So say you have 3 inches of natural hair and then the rest colored and the ends over processed or damaged. we can use three different strengths down the hair shaft.

So she doesn’t have any relaxer or anything because I see the new growth when getting it washed but the rest of her hair looks like she had some kind of straightener to the hair above the new growth but she sat you can’t do this with a relaxer only natural hair

Do you guys do the mini curl? If so what is the outcome
Is this recommended for fine 4a/3c hair? My hair tangles and breaks itself so I can never retain growth unless I keep it in protective styles constantly. I don’t want to lose my curls or pattern at all I just need it to stop breaking on itself.

no that's the difference between Gina's CURL and the rest. We have time to protect the previously treated hair while applying the chemical and there is no other chemical being applied to the rods so the ends are not being compromised with every retouch.

Hi does the blue black dye stain white sheets? I have some grey hair and would want it dyed as part of the treatment . Would that be ok ?
Most deposited color does tend to stain white sheets, however with the Gina Curl we do NOT recommend high LIFT color. The curl will not take over hair that has been previously lightened.

Does this work on relaxed hair also or just natural hair?🤔
Only natural, but we service a Straight Variation (SV) to help you grow out your relaxed hair. Once the hair is at your desire length we cut off the relaxed hair. The SV is similar to a texlax although we use the same chemical as with the GINACURL so the hair will curl over a SV.
How long does it last?
It is permanent so it will grow out. If you want to keep up with it you comeback for your retouches anywhere between 6 months up to a year

Is it possible just to get a curly perm like regular white woman get?
If you get the standard curly perm, textured hair will have frizzy results and the curls would not be defined.
Its a gheri curl/perm
There is no comparison between the jheri curl and the GINA CURL. The technique, the chemical, the softness and the length retention make a world of difference. With the jheri curl or any other curl on the market, there is no way of isolating the previously treated ends. The chemical is applied to the perm rod, so each time you go back for a re touch, your ends are being processed again, and will become over processed. With the GINA CURL it can take up to an hour and a half to process the hair, so even in the rinsing stage, the ends don’t have enough time to absorb the chemical and become over processed. Also, there is never any chemical other than the neutralizer applied to the perm rods. You don’t have to wait days for the curls to activate, after your chemical service. These are the example pictures of what we need to complete your consultation or it will delay he process. Answering the question about you chemical history truthfully is also very important. Texlax, Color, Keratin Treatments, Henna, are chemicals so please remember to include these in your consultation. We need to know if it is semi-permanent, permanent, or a stain. We also need to know what level of developer you are using, 6vol, 10vol, or 20vol. Once this is completed, email back and once we receive Gina will review and we will get back to you with a quote, along with some information about the appointment. Once you receive your quote and all looks good you can then give me a call here at the Salon and we can get you booked and take your Deposit. If you have any further questions please feel free to include them with your submitted consultation. We will respond with a quote within 1 business week. The Gina Curl and Thermal Reconditioning are ONLY done on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

I feel like a white person cannot give advice on how to do or get rid of black peoples hair struggle like you do not have our hair type or don't know enough about our hair texture to give us advice on it
Feelings do not equal facts. I'd trust her with my hair. Why, you ask? Because, she has over 40 years experience working with our hair texture. And from what I've seen, none of her clients' edges are snatched. Feel free to continue getting your edges snatched by your kitchen beautician. But as for me, I'll be making a trip to Connecticut.
Black stylists do the hair of people with completely different textures. In my opinion anyone who is respectful and well educated in keeping African textured hair healthy is welcome to provide their services.

I've been natural for 11 years. The stylist is Caucasian. She did an AMAZING job! on my textured hair. I will be seeing her on a regular. I absolutely love when a stylist seeks to work across the board and is able to style all textures.
