- I'm back at it with another GinaCurl video for you all! In this curly hair salon vlog, I take you with me to Hair's Talent salon to get my curly perm.
This video is sooo late, but life has been crazy! In August, I got my third GinaCurl which means (yes, you guessed it), it has been an entire year since my very first GinaCurl. I'm still loving it. My hair has grown a TON (I show just how much in the video) and breakage is pretty much a thing of the past. If you're curious about getting a curly perm on natural hair or a more specifically a curly perm on 4c hair definitely give this video a watch so you can see the potential.
Aside from the time I spent in the salon, I actually got to explore New Haven, CT a bit this time and it wasn't too bad, I must say!

It’s absolutely Beautiful! I did the straight variation for my 1st retouch in Sept and plan on going back curly next summer. I love love love having the variety with the Gina Curl. Thanks for making the videos!!!
So I was actually gonna ask Hairs Talent this question. You can go back and forth between the straight variation and the ginacurl?
@@amandaday My stylist in Georgia said I could go back and forth as long as I don’t use direct heat. I mostly do roller sets and twist outs but the drying time is still much lesser than with my natural hair. This was a good alternative for me in the winter so I don’t have to wash every 2-3 days. Honestly I don’t know which I like best lol but if I can change it up for the seasons it a win win for me!

I thought the same thing too. However, after researching, it is *completely* different. I recommend researching it for yourself. When you do, you’ll probably be some a fan. Peace to you 2

Love it! I’ve been waiting on this video like 👀 lol you make me want to get a Gina Curl. Does your hair have a chemical smell after you get it done? And has your hair felt fragile or brittle at all?
It doesn’t have a chemical smell to me. Smells super good lol. And my hair feels dry often but it’s always felt that way so it’s no different than when I was natural. And it’s def breaking less than when I was natural so I don’t sweat the way it feels too much lol
I been having a good journey with my curl I have the care free curl that’s the brand I have.

Omg wow you GC looks amazing! How did you sit under the dryer for 4 hours? I got my Gina curl done last month and felt like I was going to pass out under that dryer! I’m worried about getting it done again (my touch up in 6 months) because of this reason🤭

@@amandaday native here! You have to go to Modern’s for any pizza (esp the clam) or Zuppardi’s (West haven…a little further out) for pizza NOT Pepe’s it’s overhyped. We are the pizza capital. Idc 😌✨

Love your hair, I to have a Gina curl. My first one I loved it.
Now the last two re touch, not so much. My curl are so tight. It look like a fro. Now I wash
and condition my hair and I just want to put a wig on. I am thinking about giving up on the
Gina curl. Now I have tried two
other stylists do it. They used the pink rods. I have fine hair and the curl have no definition when it dry. But when it is wet it has a lot of definition. Can you give me so pointers.

Maybe use curling soufflés when wet to help set curls when it’s dry. Wash n gos still need some products to lock curls in
Third and best!!?? So is it basically a hit or miss? I...don't know if I should do this or not now cause....already enough is required for this style. I heard you can style it any other way other than curly. Yes, no??? Anyone know?

How well does it work on thin hair?
Oh ur husband didn’t take u this time. Philly will n the house! I’m Jerzee! Can you tell me all the products u use! I was following someone else n a video I caught of hers had me trashing all the products she suggested we use. I looked at the bottles today n what I was encouraged to purchase because her hair was so pretty included protein and keratin! Which we all know is a no no. I’m just trying to get it to look JUICY N NOT DRY!!!

Why?
You know you can do this yourself or go to an old school hairstylist who used to do Jheri Curls back in the day. It will onyly cost you about 40 to 60 dollars. 🤷🏾♀️
It was 40-60 dollars 30 yrs ago. Even relaxers cost much more than that and they aren’t nearly as time consuming as getting these curl reformations. Everything has gone up over the years and time is money. I don’t know how much this retouch is and black salons may not be as expensive but Please Don’t penny pinch when going to black professional cosmetologists.

Looks like a jheri curl because it is a jheri curl. What's old is new and overpriced. The old school beauticians will do the same for less.
