Man, it’s like a trip down memory lane seeing a Mortal Kombat 4 N64 review from you, Glenn! Brings me right back to the good old days when we’d dissect every combo and fatality. Looking forward to hearing your take-feels like catching up with an old friend!
MK4 was such a fun addition to the franchise for me. The 3D graphics blew my mind as a kid, and I remember a lot of it scared me such as the game over screen😂. So much nostalgia looking back and I thankfully still play this with my brother whenever we see each other. Thank you for bringing back memories, Glenn.😊❤️

Man, I loved this game! I've rented MK4 over and over again. I still remember turning off the console every time the CPU won and performed a Fatality because I was way too young for this game and found it too brutal. In terms of atmosphere and soundtrack, it's probably still my favorite Mortal Kombat game. Great review btw!
This was my first mk. The developers said it was hell making it but it was still a fantastic entry. Now can we get the gold version on modern platforms?
One of my favorite games on the system. When I started collecting for my N64 again a year or 2 ago this was one of the first games I sought out. Still woulda loved to seen it included on the Arcade 1up MK deluxe release I recently purchased. I guess this is the closest we’ll get to the arcade port at home without any annoying loading slowdown. Nice video as always Glenn!
@n64glennplant I'm an 80s kid and this is like heaven to me when I hear you talk about going to the store to get the game. How important these games truly are. There are so many titles and you bring them all to life dude :)

I did! black one, white was out of stock but id have concerns with yellowing of a white one anyway. I may still get that too when stock isn't so much of an issue.
I wonder if the mono sound and lack of Expansion Pak support were both to avoid compromising the smooth 60fps refresh. Hi-Res mode always comes with a performance hit to some degree, so unless this engine was _extremely_ fast (and had a lot of headroom left over), it would have frequently dipped below 60fps and not felt nearly as good to play. that's a great point Marth and good to see you as always. I would expect they wanted to tone down anything that meant that hitting the 60fps would be an issue so yeah that makes sense. a high res 30 fps mode would have still been cool to see as maybe a game option
