Blues brothers on c64 is better than this in my opinion. For this reason it's not in my collection, anyway its going for silly money nowadays. Great to listen to your reviews Glen.
I didn't really know about the existence of this game, though I've played Blue Brothers on the SNES which I rented on the former and long gone video cassette renting store Blockbuster back in the late 90s. and to these days, I still think that that game was an utterly waste of time. this version on the N64 does not seem any better at all. I rather spend the day playing Superman 64 or Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt than Blue Brothers. no offense upon intended, just saying you know!
This was another seeing the N64 Magazine review and steering well clear of it type moments. What a shameless cash grab. The official Nintendo magazine back then here in the UK was awful, too, with fixed reviews. I stuck to N64 Mag and Digitiser for feedback. Feels weird, though, the internet just wasn't really a thing back then to check out scores.
the official Nintendo magazine was so bias wasn't it, I got a few issues here and there when N64 magazine wasn't on shelves at Morrisons when I went shopping with mum but it was always a disappointment although she was happier as it was cheaper haha
This is one of the weirdest N64 games imo. It is crazy how they would make a game out of almost any movie or TV show back then. The BB2K movie was terrible but this game has basically zero to do with the movie. They could have changed a couple of the characters name and called it "Hollywood Hijinks" and it would have made just as much sense. There was also a Blues Brothers game for the SNES that was just as bad if not worse. I'd say worse since it was based on a great movie. The game had nothing at all to do with the movie. It was just a generic 2D platformer. I wouldn't be surprised if the company had some random 2D platformer and at the last minute swapped the characters and slapped the Blues Brothers name on it hoping the name alone would help sell it. A BB game on the SNES could have worked if it they made it into a story based RPG like Earthbound. Taking a popular franchise and turning into a generic game is one of the dumbest things from the earlier days of gaming. Home Improvement on SNES anyone? lol
What movie licensed games should never have existed? Umm I'm gonna stick my neck out and say "most of them"! Maybe easier to list the ones that are worth playing... and some which aren't amazing but do just enough to be enjoyable (i'm thinking of A Bug's Life for instance)
@@n64glennplant there are a group of characters called the Runaway five in earthbound, and they are a reference to the blues Brothers. Aside from smash this is, perhaps the closest yet vaguely related thing to in earthbound game for the Nintendo 64 haha

id probably go for superman 64 or air boarder would also be somewhere on there
Sounds about right.
He’s on a roll!!
I’m a rollll man…I’ll get my coat 🤣
I had noooo idea this game even existed, lol!
That’s maybe not a bad thing
Been missing ya man.
Thanks, means a lot 🥲
My god! Totally forgot about this one 😁
that's probably for the best!
@@n64glennplant 😅
Only bit I seen of Blues Brothers 2000 was the Ghosts Riders in the Sky sequence. And I vowed to ignore the film forevermore since
It certainly lacked the charm of the first film
I remember a preview of this in a magazine where the consensus sort of was 'why make this game, the film is not that good' - keep in mind I've actually not seen the film and only seen the original classic [which I constantly play the soundtrack of in the background].
Anyway, yeah, this game looks bad.
Yeah I guess at the time they acquired the rights they weren’t expecting to have such a delayed game and also the film to be so bad
Looks like a great game tbh 😀
Give it a try you never know you may like it
I played Terminator Salvation when the pandemic hit and that one should not exist. Also, the Jungle Book for the SNES is a bastard too.
I’ve always fancied playing salvation. I know it got rough reviews but man I love terminator
Whuuuah, yet another one in such a short time? Those are some serious Taskwork-Skills, it´s like: Ratatataaah! =D - Cool! Aidyn Chronicles - The First Mage is next on the list, right? *smirki smirki - Come on mate, I know you want it just as much as I do. ;) ;)
Haha probably be January for that one as I’m taking December off for the holidays
You do that mate. =) - And I know, I am quite the naggin´chap but since there are so few RPG´s for the N64, it probably won´t hurt. - What was you original catchphrase at the beginning all those years ago? ,, On my neverending quest to review every N64 related game. . . ´´ ;) ;) ;) Haha ;) ;) ;) @@n64glennplant
@@gregstar2091 makes me miss classic game room 😋
Never heard of it. At least the cut scenes look good.
Some are decent, just very very slow
Blues brothers on c64 is better than this in my opinion.
For this reason it's not in my collection, anyway its going for silly money nowadays.
Great to listen to your reviews Glen.
not played or seen that myself, maybe I should go look
Glenn mf-ing PLANT
what on earth will everyone do when I finish....lol don't think about that yet, not happening
This legit looks like a reskinned Gex crossed with Banjo-Kazooie.
Without any of the polish 🤨
I didn't really know about the existence of this game, though I've played Blue Brothers on the SNES which I rented on the former and long gone video cassette renting store Blockbuster back in the late 90s. and to these days, I still think that that game was an utterly waste of time. this version on the N64 does not seem any better at all. I rather spend the day playing Superman 64 or Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt than Blue Brothers. no offense upon intended, just saying you know!
All belong in the same category of avoidable experiences
@4:30 is it just me or does the guard have a raging clue?
Now you mention it 😂
This was another seeing the N64 Magazine review and steering well clear of it type moments.
I steered clear of this one! Doesn't look too bad though lol
its not the worst but certainly limited in terms of who would like it a lot
Home Improvement on SNES anyone? lol
Oh goodness. Didnt know it was a game. The movie was terrible.
Original movie was great.
yeah Blues brothers 1980 was amazing, can't believe how bad 2000 sucked
How are you pumping out the videos now your back?
I have a lot of stuff in the pipeline from before I had to take a step back for health reasons
@@n64glennplant glad you're feeling better
What movie licensed games should never have existed? Umm I'm gonna stick my neck out and say "most of them"! Maybe easier to list the ones that are worth playing... and some which aren't amazing but do just enough to be enjoyable (i'm thinking of A Bug's Life for instance)
Cough Goldeneye cough cough 😉
@@n64glennplant Ah, but of course!
Ahh that seems really like a missed Oportunity.
what do you think that you would have done with the IP?
@@n64glennplant something like the first 3 driver games would suit the premise of both movies
Yaaaaaas!!!!! Gooooooo I love and miss i
Goalllllllll
So they did drop Earthbound 64?!
lol am I missing something? what's with the earthbound 64 on the comments tonight? lol
@@n64glennplant there are a group of characters called the Runaway five in earthbound, and they are a reference to the blues Brothers. Aside from smash this is, perhaps the closest yet vaguely related thing to in earthbound game for the Nintendo 64 haha
My best friend Christian is the only person on earth who likes this film
And why is he still a friend? 😜
I've never played Earthbound.
Shame, it’s decent
@@n64glennplantThe blues Brothers in a video game just reminds me of those blues Brothers that showed up in the Smash Bros Melee opening video. Then I see that EarthBound kid appear out of nowhere in a burst of flames back to the Future 88 miles an hour style
I haven't played this one yet I think I would get a copy of this game if I find it in the wild for dirt cheap.
But the name Titus does make me second guess my decision.
its more for the complete collectors only I feel
