- I change the board from an abandoned Bird scooter to the original Xiaomi M365 board and it works! Plus I show you how to make it much faster with a way higher top speed (19mph) enjoy!
if you are at 1.4.1 or 1.4.2 you have to downgrade and revert to 1.4.0 first before you can put custom firmware on it. to do this first you need to install this apk: drive.google.com/file/d/1iIjb...
Here's first firmware to install that unlocks you from the bs 141 or 142 versions:

sadly these are not M365 Models.
they use NINEBOT ES 2 or Lime-S Gen. 2 but soon there comes the 3. Gen.
Do you have to flash the new firmware to the scooter? I have an iphone and I don't think I'll be able to do it unless there is an alternative way.

Your video is single-handedly going to make all the scooter share companies bankrupt. Way to go, now every thief will have their own electric scooter.
Sure about that? Bird owes $362,800 to the University of Georgia and $32,000 to Santa Cruz, California. Virginia Beach has impounded 205 scooters and is owed $1,700, as of Oct. 31, 2018. That's impound fees. It cost $114,000 for 500 scooters at $228 each. Also, there's been articles and such already saying how easy it is to hack them...
Forgot to mention this model is the original model. The new ones are same as lime scooter... which ironically enough both the same company. Bird started off with Xiaomi, which owns Segway, which lime uses.

Just remember if you want to flash the speed controller with your own custom settings (via Botox & M365DownG app) or just want to have the ability to update the firmware through the Mi Home app this can only be done if you buy a "genuine" OEM Xiaomi dashboard. They are usually around $50. Make sure it's original from the factory and sealed in the box. All of the other replacement dashboards which are around $25 are clones and you will not be able to do any "flashing" at all. It will make the M365 operational and you will be able to connect to the Mi Home app on other third party apps but you will not be able to flash any firmware. This is probably why Bird and Lyft have abandoned the M365 completely. However in my own opinion it's still the best and most comfortable model to ride.

time to go to la and pick up some free scooters from "friends" for anyone picking up free scooters make sure to remove the gps locator somewhere in the mountains before you take em to your house. might also want to try and hide your "free" scooters somewhere for a few weeks before you take em to your house just to make sure they arnt be tracked.

I don’t understand how the bird motherboard housing case got magically small during the install of the Xiaomi board.
He swapped the handle bars
thr bird housing is a custom motherboard mount using a slimmed down cheap cellphone sized case that mounts on top of the Xiomi handlebars with a metal plate blocking the hold where the stand allone scooter board goes. If you remove that casing its basically the stock handlebars.
he switched them. there's no reason to steal one if you already own one and have to switch the boards back and forth every time you want to use either

Yes. Just search "ninebot Segway es2 control board assembly". $65 and literally just replace it and it works, no need for firmware flashing. Then a charge cord is $15-$20 depending where you buy it.
I got confused I once you went on the phone? Do you need to do what you where doing in your phone? And can you use the real xiaomi app?

I would really appreciate if someone can do a video or guide to change the standing pole to folding pole. there seems to be a safety screw that preventing to change to folding pole. folding pole gives more flexibility for transportation :)

I picked up a bird scooter. It has the same top as your second with the "telecom board". However, it is the new Segway ES4. It has the break and accelerate button levers, large battery on the base, but no screen. It had the bird sticker on the top just like the Xiaomi Board. Will the Xiaomi M365 work on this scooter or do I need to get the ES replacement?
You definitely cannot use a different board for it. as far as obtaining an es4 segway board let me know if you can find one as those are the most plentiful scooters around. The only Segway I've successfully swapped out is an es2
I have a es4 that was left behind by a scooter company that left the city. I contact them and they don’t seem to want it. I would like to make mine. Do I just need to replace the head.
Would anyone know what’s up with the ES1-300 Bird Scooter not going? After kickstarting and pressing “go” it just makes a resistance “clicking” type noise and it’s like the front wheel is stubborn (had a slight crash on it going down a super steep hill). Can anyone help? I’m not getting anywhere with Bird since I don’t have proof of purchase (BS, but I understand, but seriously we’re not all thieves, the scooter was a gift from my Auntiemumz who just recently passed, so no way to obtain POP)!

Found a first generation bird one .. are electronic cables hard to get and brake cable and electronic dash ..front tire is stuck had been partially buried so look kinda rusted should I try to loosen or buy a new wheel assembly .. the electronics are all intact in plexus glass casing .. since it was private has no GPS or they would have found it .. think it’s worth it ..

Here's another tips to charge fast, the standard bird charger is 42v 2amp= 84watt. U can charge faster using a dc to dc boost converter. Set the charge voltage to 42v then set the charge current to 5amp that's 210watt which is gonna cut your charge time from 4 hour to 1hour 20minutes.
I never heard of a DC to DC boost converter. Googling now
Boost converter is for voltage. Yes, you can control the amperage if there's a potentiometer on the board for that but every boost topology I have seen requires the input voltage must be 1V or 2V less than the output voltage. If you are inputting 42V then you don't want to go ANY higher. Also, watts are watts (not even including the watts you lose during the conversion, best boost converters are 98% effecient.) You push in 24V 10A you. have 240W when you boost up to 42V you have 5.71A which is 240W. To increase amperage you need to decrease voltage so you could get a 60V 2A charger and get a BUCK converter to bring it down to 42V 3A (just shy of 3A)

It will work but Bird can track your phone that has the SIM card and you can get in big trouble.

Not unless your phone runs the Bird *Scooter* Software (Not the app) that Bird puts onto their scooters to communicate with the server to display on the app.
I swapped to a new board but the one I installed is blue and not red like yours pictured. The problem I have is that my board powers on as soon I connected the main cable and the scooter ran but I can not turn the scooter on or off or change any modes. Like the power button is not working but I ordered 2 boards because I got two scooters and both boards do the same thing. Any ideas?

This is the same process on ninebot models like bird and spin scooters. And u don't even need to search a patched version it works with any version of firmware

its another stolen bird scooter, they sell a clasp for around $80 on eBay and its not the same one, its octagonal, this is proprietary bird clamps that you see on his scooters

Highly doubtful. The bird scooter looks the same as my m365 everywhere except the bird board on top. Plus it doesnt show on the app. Remove graphic and give it a paint job for extra security. Don't forget to lock it in public 😅

i'm sure they could, but it would be theft if they did. they legally lost rights of ownership of most of their scooters because they refuse to pay the impound fees from illegally dumping their scooters in big cities.
@@mrreviewsitall7496 technically the stock m365 has a collapsable stem for folding the scooter into a more compact size. The bird branded scooters have a solid collar preventing the scooter from being folded.

There are always tons of scooters and rental bikes in auctions. Cities will usually take them iff the streets if they are blocking sidewalks, streets alleys, etc. So, theft is probably not an issue. I have personally bid on and won at auctions for scooters, bikes, cars and more. These are refurbished and sold out of my second hand store. Perfectly legal! I have receipts from the County for all my purchases...
