  • MakeSure all of your connections are secure and not loose you’re charging Cables should look like they do in my video and should be connected accordingly ! A constant red light (on the bms)is a bad sign that your battery is malfunctioning and having issues,It could be something going on with the battery management system (bms) or one of the component on the board like Or it could be one of the battery cells inside the battery pack having an issue or could be unbalanced Somehow ,This video also shows that your scooter should charge without issues also without anything having to be done to the scooter itself.So again be sure that your connections are secure/nothing is loose.Also Something I did not include in my video that I had a problem with on one of my scooters may also be related to this issue.Follow that black and red wire going up to your charging port ,Lift up the charging port flap And there are too small screws That need to be undone..Take that apart and make sure that both positive and negative prongs They are pushed in all the way ! Sometimes they push out of place after charging the scooter so many times..iv had this happend before ..
    Your Battery could be under voltage also so be to check that as well .
    You could also reset your bms Externally
    The first method for resetting your e-bike battery’s BMS is to do it externally. By that, we mean performing a reset without opening the battery compartment and accessing the BMS directly. To do that, you’ll be using a makeshift adapter to charge the battery through the discharge port, which should cause the BMS to reset itself. You’ll be working with a soldering kit and later with live electricity, so you’ll want to keep yourself protected at all times.
    Your adapter will consist of the DC barrel jack and two wires. Using the soldering kit, attach a red wire to the positive terminal of the jack and a black wire to the negative one.
    You could also use electrical tape to keep it all together and cover any bare parts.
    Remember: red wire to positive, black wire to negative.
    You must never let the bare wires touch each other, as that could close the circuit and make things very dangerous.
    Perform The BMS Reset
    Next, connect the adapter to the battery’s discharge port. Look closely at the port, and you’ll see that it has indicators to show you where to plug each wire. It’s usually printed on the plastic itself. The red wire goes to the positive terminal, and the black wire goes to the negative one.
    If it’s working, you’ll see that the light on the charger turns red. Hold the wires just as they are for 15 seconds, and that should cause the BMS to reset itself.
    Once that’s done, turn off the battery charger and remove the adapter. You can now check to see if the BMS allows the battery to charge and discharge as normal. You can do this by replacing the battery back in the e-bike or connecting it to the charger.

    You can charge from the xt60 power port. Just make a xt30 female to xt60 female adapter. The red charge light on the charger goes on and everything.

      Is it possible to charge it only via the xt60 port? Is then the BMS still working right? Because it do not charge via the xt30 port

    • @pjscootermods
      @pjscootermods  Рік тому +2

      Absolutely I actually made a video of me showing how I run 2 Bird batteries in parallel and in series !
      You can bypass discharge and use the BMS for charging only.
      Load Power straight from tabs!
      Connecting a battery in series is when you connect two or more batteries together to increase the battery systems overall voltage, connecting batteries in series does not increase the capacity only the voltage.
      That being said be sure not to over exceed 60 Amps (when choosing your controller)
      Parallel Pairing is different your amp draw will go from 60 A to 120 A

    Aye bro have you figured out how to turn the new Lime scooters into personals yet? I'm talking about the new new ones that have the Grey removable battery pack in the center of the deck. And it has nice curved handle bars on it. Have you seen them yet out there in Austin? I live in Long Beach , Cali. And I have a plethra of all types of scooters out here. But I want to figure out those new Lime joints....

    I have a charging issue. I only can charge my battery through the discharging port.
    I already bridged the pins “b- and RST” but no change.
    My charger light goes from green to red and back to green. And the red light is flickering a little bit, while the charger is connected

    • @pjscootermods
      @pjscootermods  Рік тому

      You should be using the charging port for charging . The little red light that flickers is fine that’s not anything to be concerned about.

      Yes, but the light from the charger is still green and after few mins connected the voltage of the battery didn’t increase, so that’s for me a sign that the battery isn’t charging.
      And through the discharging port it’s fine for me. Also the charging stops automatically at 42v after it’s reached.
      So what do you think, can I leave it like this?

      Sounds like it’s time for a new battery ! 🪫 if you did the BMS bypass and you’re only at 3.7 V, then your battery pack has become undervoltage and will not charge because the charging box will not detect it since it’s below 31 v . Solution for this is a battery replacement

      Your not wiring somthing right on the throttle part .. the only way I see the wheel free spinning is if your forgetting to coonect your ground -black wire- going to your throttle. If u leave out the black the wheel is going to free spin..make sure it’s not pinced somweheres along the way causing it to ground out That’ll also cause it to
