I've got a couple hundred lead acid bicycle chargers... they are 24volt chargers with a three wire plug which is basically two 12volt hot and a ground.
If you want any they are REALLY nice. They sold for 200 bucks new. I'd trade them for store credit SUPER cheap.
Are they hermetically sealed? If u can get at the adjustment pot inside u can change the voltage and maybe can be used for lithium.

I had a load problem when I used this hack. So the resistor worked fairly well with full volts on my scooters, BUT... the Bms was then shutting off under load. I want to keep the bms for charging/balancing purposes, so then hard wired direct from the battery poles at either end. Sorted! No shut down and I just monitor the power levels on my controller for now.
Comment on the 30 cell scooter battery. Two of the four i bought would not wake up after i used all the tricks I could find. I soldered positive wire with xt60 to the positive on battery and used a splicer on the negitive wire. Left all the orginal wiring and the BMS alone and used charging port to recharge after discharging it on a bike ride. BTW I put battery in a piece of 2"x3" vinyl downspout to protect it. Used a 3"x4" to run two in parallel.

I enjoyed your video and learned alot, where are some of these sources for these NOS (new old stock) e-bike batteries, i used to get batteries from inogen packs for medical equipment because you could see before you bought them that they where not dead cells before you bought a bulk of them by looking at the capacity test on the batteries but big warehouses buy these all up now, i dont want used pc batteries because people dont usually replace these unless they are really used up. It didnt occur to me about the e-bike packs but now are building more of these and need a small bulk supply for these.
what are the dimensions of the full block on the 30 cell 36v 10A scooter battery - the second one shown. Wondering if it will fit into the Razer 300, as an upgrade. thx Looks 15 cells long so thats 11 inches and a BMS on the end, so 13 inches maybe?
Lol, I found this two days after I ordered batteries from Jag because they ones I have all were dead. Just revived 4 dead batteries with this wakeup trick and waiting for the ones I ordered from Jehu.

I won 45 of them from an auction and im in the middle of converting them to personal but they have been sitting for some time and most of the bms are locked from sitting around. If you found you're way here after having trouble waking up your 20 cell scooter packs here's my experience June 2022:
Charging directly to the thin wires with no other steps only worked on one of my 5 packs purchased recently, Red light blinks 5-8 times then stops, charger stays green.
I'm not sure if this may be because they have been sitting for some time at this point or other factors I don't understand, but if you end up in a similar situation I have seen some success with hitting the reset and charging threw the discharge port (Thicker cables) as shown in this video.
Were you able to wake your packs with charging and hitting the button as shown here? I'm refurbishing a couple ES2s rn and seem to get the behavior shown in the video (hitting bms button begins charging, solid red on charger and blinking red on battery), though when I disconnect the charger the battery flashes red and turns off again. Not sure if I just need to charge for longer or through the smaller leads, or if there's another issue altogether

Jehu, A question on the 30 cell battery pack it has the green , white wires where do those wires connect if using just as an ebike battery replacement? Do I need to use them? or can I just connect the larger red / blk to the oem ebike battery wires?
Can I ask a question about 18650 cells. I;m new to this and I am trying to build a 5s 10p x2 power cell for backup power for lights and maybe a radio. My question is about BMS's. If I have 5 leads to connect to each row of Block. Then how can it tell each cell in that row is even in power. My guess is it can't. But only can keep up with each row. If that is true then a row with 10 cells is not really balanced. So what is the point in a BMS on long rowes. Thank you Chris L

You don’t have to poke a hole in the seal casing is it you have to do is connect 12 V to the positive and negative of the small plug and it will jump it once the light flashes pull the paper clips or wires out of the plug

I reckon it may be in sleep mode because the owner left discharged and when he gave to me to fix it had dropped to around 20V.
I used and external P/S connected directly so as to bypass the LiIon protection circuit and succesfully / carefully
charged the BS-18650-8S3P battery back to max 33.6V (nominal 28.8V).
However the battery still wont charge via the normal charge port when I use a scooter 33.6V 2A P/S with same connector
adaptor and same rating as origional P/S
It still wont charge even if I use the bench P/S to provide charge via the normal charging port. There's no current flowing !
I dont have the original Unagi P/S as is lost and a replacement is expensive.
The 33.6V battery is a sealed one. I dont have it's protection circuit's electronic diagram to figure out how it works.
Unagi refuse to help because owner has lost the proof of ownership reciept paperwork.

I was given two 36v hover board battery packs and I took one apart and all the cells were reading 0.5 volts each so I just revived all the individual cells with a good 18650 battery and litokala charger but my question is I have a third 36v hover board battery that is good so could I just take some wire and connect the bad one to the good battery pack to revive it? These packs aren’t smart or don’t have any reset buttons like these packs you have.
I have the second battery. My charger has a solid red light when connected to the battery instead of blinking. And when I pressed the button, there is a red LED and a blue LED that blink on the battery. Is this okay?

I built a ebike basically copying your build. All is well except I have a blinking red light on the battery and a solid red light on the charger until I unplug the battery then it goes to a blinking blue light on the battery pack and solid green on the charger.

Quick question hopefully you can respond. If not, I understand you’re busy man so for the round iron battery will you have to reset the battery when it’s sleeping or whatever it’s called. there’s a wire with a white connection to that next to that button. What is that one for cause on mine I have to reset mine and there is a plastic white piece over that connection that I took off and it does fit one of the other wires that connects to the bottom end of the frame by the front wheel. I hope you can help me. Thank you.
Yeah that is the charge connector along with communication. Add 42v to it to charge and wake up battery

Jag, be carefull with es4 external pack. Thru bottom cottector this packs are not balansing! I seen them go very bad on balansing.
I don't think he's suggesting it as a long-term solution. You just need to bump the battery voltage up enough for the BMS to recognize the cells so that it will begin charging through the intended charge connection again.

For the Xiaomi scooter battery. can you really charge them directly from the bigger positive and negative wire? i think those are the output wires. will it damage the battery? i'm trying to build a power station from these batteries, but confuse if i can combine the original charging (smaller positive and negative) wires for charging.
Batteries don't care about things like input or output. You make a circuit and electrons flow from anode to cathode

I have a weird issue with one of my 36v es2 batteries. I can wake it up and get it to a full charge of 41.7V, then get a solid blue light. However, after I let it sit for about 3 days, the BMS shuts off again and reads 3V. If I try to wake it up it starts charging again, but I have to connect it up to the small wires to wake up the BMS again. Is there any way I can avoid this? Is it possible that the BMS software is custom programmed for a rental scooter, and shutting off due to inactivity? Or, is the battery defective?

do NOT build an 18650 pack without a BMS!
This is a layer of protection that cuts off voltage if the pack gets too hot, or the device is drawing too much power. Lithium cells can act like mini bombs if not handled or used properly.

if you charge it thru discharge port , and u see on the multimeter something aobut 40v, u can unplug it and the plug it normally u would, if it starts to charge, then i was possibly asleep, but if it still wont charge, then its dead and u need to buy new one :((

ONE MORE QUESTION. Can I put two of the 30-Cell 18650 batteries in parallel to go twice as far? Do I need a diode in between? One battery was listed as 10 amp and now the websites says they are listed as 8amp? Or are they all just 8amp? Thanks @jehugarcia !!!
@steven Connor I have two 30 cell m365 scooter packs that I have paralleled. Initially I was going to use diodes, but I found several videos on UA-cam where people just connected packs in parallel without diodes. Without the diodes the packs will stay in balance at the same voltage, and can be charged together with one charger.
I built a special cable that used a 5watt, 38ohm resistor (between the positive leads) to slowly get them balanced. But after separately charging each to full charge with very close voltages, the resistor cable did not get even warm when connected. Then I built a Y cable with two xt30 connectors, and in my case an xt60 to connect to my controller on my ebike. It has a 500w geared motor which can pull 800 watts under load. Charging now is very simple. I leave them connected in parallel all the time so they are at the same voltage. I.e. no diodes.
Then I connect either one to my cheepo 2A charger through the standard scooter charge socket. Both charge up at the same time leaving them at the same voltage. When I plug in the charger on battery one, the blinking blue light turns blinking red. Within a few seconds, the second battery's blinking blue light turns to blinking red too. This tells me that it's bms knows it is charging. I alternate between the two when using the charger because I don't know how if the second batteries bms will balance properly if charged via the xt30 connector instead of the standard charge port. So far, I've only taken a few rides of 10 to 20 miles, and the batteries seem to be outstanding. Not only will they double the range, but the stress is halved, so the set should last longer. After all my ebike weighs more than a scooter, and I have climbed some steep hills.
Oh, I read your other post about the charge lights on the bms. Solid blue means full charge. Blinking blue means below full charge, but not low. Red blinking means low. Red blinking also means charging. No light means the battery is dead or in hibernation.
For my needs i.e. 36v ebike, these scooter batteries are a great value. If I need a 48v battery in the future, it will require quite a bit more hacking to adapt them. For now, a simple Y cable is all that's needed.

I have a Xiaomi M365 and the battery is dead since I didn’t use it for many months. I plug in the charger, the bile light on the battery lit up and turn into red light and then off. Not charging at all. So if I bought one of your mortified charger with XT30(I assume that’s the one), can I wake up the battery? Thank you
This is all so interesting. How do we know these unknown batteries are safe to use in our homes? I've seen very frightening videos of fires started by sketchy batteries while charging. What precautions can/should be taken?
they are safe in the scooter, what you do with them after you take them out is your responsibility.
The only thing you can do is educate yourself in all things batteries and only then will you be able gauge the risk involved in using batteries.

on the round battery if it says its 100 percent by the blue light being solid but when i connect everything on the screen it says its at 1 bar flashing, what could be the problem do you think? pressed the little button on the battery aswell but it stays solid blue.

I bought a 30 cell 36v 8a battery and charger on receiving I fully charged the battery indicator on the battery being a solid blue light and on the charger a green light as directed
When the battery is hooked up to the e-bike and I begin to accelerate using the throttle after approximately 20 seconds the battery shuts down showing a blinking red light after 5 Seconds goes back to Blue
my friend my friend has a battery pack which I borrow and it works perfectly on my e-bike it actually has a lower rating than your battery pack I believe the problem might be a faulty BMS please assist in any way you can for I am not satisfied with my purchase.

Jehu, why won't that second battery from the right - the one with the blue interior batteries showing - work on a bike with 24" wheels w/o a re-spoking job? I could get someone to assemble a battery kit on my old pedal bike but they're not about to re-spoke a wheel. Why, I don't know, but that's the situation I'm stuck with. At least I know better than to try it myself, since I've proven incompetent to install a simple 2-wire swag lamp kit. Don't ask me why about that either. Horses are my wheelhouse, but I'm getting too damn old to deal with them much anymore either. So given that I can't afford to buy a ready-made e-bike, somehow I have to find a way to get something rigged up since I quit driving too. And I don't like to ask friends to pick me up in their car. So please help me if you can - you're my only hope .... :)
