Somewhat "common" and available animal-based foods with some amount of Vitamin C that you could cover your daily needs with: This is Vitamin C content measured in raw meat, if cooked intensly as Vitamin C is a water soluable vitamin the content can be reduced by a considerable amount. This is why it might be recommended to eat some of these foods raw if you want them as a reliable source if Vitamin C. That is why in my opinion stuff like Salmon, Fish roe, oysters, clams, mussles and milk are the good sources as they can be eaten raw or are good just lighly cooked. Eating some organs raw can of course also be okay and a very good source if you are sure its clean and high quality meat to reduce the risk of food poisining. Its important to be sure any seafood or meat you plan on eating raw is of good quality! Pork Liver: 23.6mg/100g Pork Kidney: 13.3mg/100g Salmon: 3.9mg/100g Chicken Heart: 3.2mg/100g Chicken Gizzard: 3.7mg/100g Chicken Liver: 17.9mg/100g Fish Roe (mixed): 16mg/100g Mussles: 13.6mg/100g Beef Lung: 32.7mg/100g Clam: 22.1mg/100g Squid: 4.2mg/100g Crab: 3.3mg/100g Sheep Milk: 4.2mg/100g Shrimp: 2.1mg/100g Pork Heart: 2mg Beef Liver: 1.9mg/100g Whole Milk: 1.5mg/100g Goat Milk: 1.3mg/100g Beef Tongue: 1.3mg/100g
Never really thought about the vitamin c part, but i eat quite a lot of fish so Im probably good. But true yes that on zero carb you need much less vitamin c in general
There is no need to change a diet to get a specific amount of vitamin C. There is no need to eat seafood, there is no added benefit of eating fish. I eat just beef (muscles + fat) and drink water, I don't have scurvy. There is no benefit in focusing on any particular micronutrient and modifying a diet to reach any specific arbitrary goal to obtain x mg of it per day. That's not how nutrition works. It is sufficient to eat a species specific diet that we evolved to eat, no need for variety and micromanagement. And please don't recommend anyone liver or kidneys, this is toxic due to retinol in extreme amounts (also possibly copper). Retinol toxicity is a real thing, nutrition detective has collected a lot of research papers on his website which prove toxicity of retinol, including an ability of a human body to accumulate excess retinol due to eating liver (not just from taking supplements) and even retinol toxicity from liver among other carniovorous animals.
I have fish roe everytime I can get it for cheap or if we go fishing, but you have to be careful because there are so many fake versions made of seaweed in the store. Raw salmon is so so good!
Yes I can believe you, as I said its 100% an aquired taste😅 But soaking them and switching out the water a few times can make it a bit better, also salting them a lot. But I can understans why it wouldnt be most peoples go to source😅

Great list! Raw salmon is also my go too! Do you like kidneys, I cant stand the taste😅
Kidneys are not very good if Im completely honest😅 But if you soak then salt heavily and dehydrate them they are tolerable
Very good to know. I havent thought too much about it. Only knew some foods have trace amounts of it.
Its good to know. You need much less on carnivore so you dont need to be too worried about it

Fish roe is so delicious, but my go to is probably raw salmon since roe everyday would get pretty expensive
