I am so sorry but as a certified organic farmer, the facts about organic vs grass-fed should be understood. Grass fed cows do not actually have to be grass fed. They are typically fed, hay which is GMO seed, sprayed with chemicals that is growing with synthetic fertilizers. They also do not need to have a minimum amount of days to call it pasture. That term is completely unregulated (think major green washing!). Organic beef on the other hand has to be grazed a MINIMUM of 120 days a year on pasture. This means they aren't just feed their cows chemical hay in a feedlot and calling it "pasture raised" like a lot of "grass fed pasture raised" cows". They also can only us certified organic hay when not on pasture. No chemicals, synthetic fertilizers, or gmo's. As someone who is raising certified organic animals, please don't say the extra price isn't worth it just for a logo. Understand, it goes to paying farmers like us a little bit better price for raising a superior product.

This is the ONLY comment I can agree on. My Uncle has a catle farm, and knowing all of the information that you just stated,is why I'm so pickie about what kind of proteins I buy,bc I know it might be a few more dollars expensive, but I buy organic protein as much as I can,bc I know where the money is going, and how important it is for those that need it,especially during and after the pandemic. Some people will never know and or understand where that extra money goes, but I try and educate others about it how and when I can.

I think Bobby hit the nail on the head when he said the whole "eating healthy is too expensive" remark is just an easy cop out! He is absolutely right. I honestly believe the people that say that just don't want to admit that they are a lil too lazy to invest more time in the research. But your health should be a top priority. I have to respectfully disagree with that. Even without my health I still have a lot. I was born disabled with multiple conditions conditions and don't have much but I still have a lot to be thankful for. I refuse to believe that without my health I've go nothing, that's the mentality of those like Trudeau who feel people like me should unalive ourselves because we're worthless. Even though life is hard it's still not worth saying it's nothing. It's much harder in different parts of the world than it is in the US to buy these things but you have to do your best to eat the best you can then at least you've done your best. Get out and exercise and make the most of things not complaining about walking 2 blocks to a bus stop (I see that daily) when that takes people maybe 5min and it's a 30-45min job for someone like myself with major mobility issues but makes the most of it even if that means having to sit and rest for a few min. Despite not having good health and I'm poor I've still got a lot to be thankful for as I've still been amazingly blessed.

The difference between organic and non-orgaic grass fed is antibiotics and how they treat and what they are able to use if a cow is sick or injured. Also what fertilizer and pesticides they spray on the pasture to grow the grass. 2/4/d like roundup to eliminate weeds in pasture grass and fertilizer.

Not really convinced all that beef is good for you. Why not consider eating more wild fish and wild game? Elk is way lower in fat than beef, and has about the same as far as vitamins / minerals / protein.
The Tsimane tribe have the lowest athersclerosis levels so far in the world. And they only get about 11 grams of saturated fat in their diet per day. I'm not convinced Paul is on the right track with all the fat. Elk would give you just as good nutrition, with way less fat. The nutrition is in the flesh, not the fat.
And wild fish is clearly a good choice, it's low in fat, and high in heart healthy oils. Just don't cook it on tallow / butter, go for some avocado or olive oil, and use just enough to cook it.

@@randygonzalez1375 My guy, any lean meat will work. Chicken breast, turkey, fish etc... but for red meat, something like bison is better than beef, a lot of stores carry bison now, which is technically wild game.
Avoid eating processed meat, fermented meat is the only exception. The tsimane eat a diet high in whole grain rice, maize, and sweet potatoes. I don't think fruit has any true advantages over these things for most people, but it may for some. Processed / refined grains are the problem imo, same with seed oils and refined sugar.
I agree with paul on a lot of issues, but not all, like I still think beans and seeds have good nutritional value, they are the world's best sources of magnesium. Who can afford to drink coconut water all day like Paul? We all don't live in costa rica.

Organic beef has the advantage of better animal husbandry and completely excludes cruel living conditions. This is mainly only guaranteed with grass fed meat when it comes from smaller, less profit oriented farms, unlike those from larger supermarket suppliers. Some months I go all out and buy nothing but organic, some months I do a combination, and some months sadly my budget only allows the basics.
Thank u for going over ur opinions on the place where 95% of Americans do most of their grocery shopping lol
Walmart for sure has some great options at reasonable prices, u just have to know what to look for. And like u mentioned, if u come upon a bit of a financial struggle at some moments, it's ok to buy the basic stuff there SOMETIMES. You're not gonna die if one week here and one week there u eat a carton of caged eggs. Just try to make it a rare event. As I said, sometimes my budget after paying all my other bills only allows me to buy the non organic stuff, but that's ok because I know the other 11 months of the year I did not have that.

It’s a psychological trick that the normal ground beef is more expensive. Everyone assumes the grass fed ground beef is more expensive like the steaks are, so they buy the regular stuff and Walmart makes more money from people thinking they are getting a deal because they don’t check the prices

Grass fed tastes worse, less people buy it. Most people don't care about the theorized health implications of grass vs grain fed.

Hey Paul, I've done great on the Animal Based diet for about 9 months so far. I appreciate your work, and I enjoy watching your podcasts, old and new, to learn more about nutrition.
    Three questions:
Do you think that using a carnivore diet for perhaps 1-2 weeks in order to reverse pathological insulin resistance could be helpful before including more significant carbohydrate sources into the diet?
Also, I recall that you mentioned liquid fats, including beef tallow, not being digested in the same way as the fats in meat which include connective tissue, etc. Have you come to reconsider this?
Lastly, would you briefly explain why you do not consider the Randle cycle to be an issue?

1:08 when I first started learning more about nutrition, I would rely more on clinical trials and videos from influencers, but when I started learning about soil quality from the gardeners, that’s when my perspective changed. It goes back to getting to know where your food is coming from and how it’s grown. Cows can be pasture raised and grass fed, but the quality of the soil may not be that great for various reasons. What’s nice is that these days many farms that are selling their meats online for delivery can clarify the quality of what they sell. It’s a little easier to research.

6:27 = "tako" in Japanese simply means "octopus", with no sushi connotation; the word "takoyaki" for example simply means "grilled octopus" although they are served in the shape of a fried battered ball. "ika" means "squid" and "sake" means "salmon". And there's about 5 different words for tuna lol.
Sorry Paul, my inner weeb got triggered. 😂

Hi! Paul..... I watched a lot of your videos. I am on a carnivore diet. No vegetables at all. But I know we have to eat. Lol. You say all the time to eat grass fed beef . So we're eating vegetarians. So we should be eating carnivore animals. Did you know the liquid manure they put on fields . Is from human waste from septic tanks pumped out. I am from Canada . Don't know why they can get way with that. Thanks for all your information.

I usually order my Wal Mart groceries for delivery through the app. They do have very good options. My main items are Vital Farms pasteurized eggs, Organic Valley Whole Grassmilk, grass fed ground beef (I get 90% lean) and Old Croc smoked sharp cheddar (from grass fed cow milk). I used to buy that same Great Value frozen salmon, definitely passing on it next time.
