- It's great to be handy sometimes. I like doing jobs like this. Replacing the Ignition Switch on a 2015 Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW is not a very hard procedure at all. I go through each of the steps I took in replacing this part and getting my boat up and running again.

thanks for the video on the wiring. more importantly thanks you for the laugh when the spark happened... literally dead
Hey Matt my pleasure! Glad you found it useful. I figured some would get a laugh from my shocking experience lol. Thanks for watching. Tight lines!
Thanks a bunch for this video! Saved me time and money. My 2016 just went out.
My pleasure. Happy to hear you found it useful. Good luck getting it fixed up and back on the water! Tight lines!
Thanks for the video, I'm replacing mine tomorrow 👌
You're very welcome. Happy to hear you found it useful. Good luck on replacing yours. Cheers!
Very professional:)
Thanks for this video. I've got the same boat 2022. 175. My switch is bad too. It's under warranty but I'll just buy one and do it myself. Don't wanna wait 2 weeks at the dealership.
Happy you enjoyed the video. That's unfortunate about the switch. Sucks that it would take so long to get it in to the dealer. It was an easy replacement so you shouldn't have a problem. Thanks for watching!
When your ignition went bad, would it still do the safety tone when you turn it on ? My boat will do the safety tone but will not try to turn over. It will jump at the solenoid though
Hey Zacfree! Yes. My safety tone still made noise. Just couldn't get it to turn over. I messed around with it to get to work one more time and then got off the water so I wouldn't require a tow. Was easy to fix. Just remember to disconnect the battery. I forgot and almost got zapped lol. Did you get yours changed out yet?
@@X2OAnglingOutdoors no sir, I watched your video late last night and my plan is to go to the auto parts store today and see if they have one, if not I will order one today. Mine was the same way, I could mess with it a little and it would work here and there but now it’s completely not working. Thanks for the help, I subscribed and like the video !
@@zacfree5 Good luck with the repair. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. You shouldn't have any issues. Thanks for watching and for the sub. Greatly appreciated.
@@zacfree5 my 2018 Tracker Pro 175 is doing the same thing after I washed it with a pressure washer, guess I should not have shot high pressure water at the dash. I'm guessing its the ignition. I get tone but then nothing, I've had some luck with reaching up under the dash and shake that ignition harness but like you its not working at all. I just hope it is just the ignition. Did this correct your issue?
Well I just installed a new ignition switch and still will not start. I get the beep and then nothing! Very frustrating, dont know what else it could be
So my boat suddenly died the other day also no power trim is that what happened to you ?ibelieve that is the problem with mine 2018 tracker
Hey Travis. The problem I had with mine is that it just wouldn't start. My trim still worked. Sounds like you may have another issue? If you had no power at all I would think it is battery related?
How did you figure out what part number the switch was? Im trying to match mine
Hey Gabriel. When I found mine all I did was do a google search for a my year Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW and it came up in the searches. I pulled it out to have a look at wire configuration on the switch before ordering. I read the reviews on the part as well to see what people were saying about it.
I think the Sierra brand is what you want. Best way for sure is to call up a Tracker dealer to get part number or order direct from them. That way there are no issues. The process for installing is really quite easy. Thanks for watching.
@@X2OAnglingOutdoors hey thanks so much man! Turns out i need the same one you used. Already on the way. Tight lines out there.
@@pvelaracuna that's awesome! Tight lines!
I have to do this. I don’t understand why you can’t find the switch already wired into that plug. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a plug if you still have to cut them and crimp the new wiring onto the existing plug.
I hear you Jon. Do they ever make anything easy? They just want you to bring it in and pay tons of money for them to do it. That's why they don't make things easy.
Disconnecting the battery, isn't that step one? Lol. I don't mess with anything electric. Back when I worked for a contractor I would hate even detaching a light fixture. I just had my cars ignition switch replaced. That was pricey. I guess it helps when you are tech handy. I can hardly deal with my printer.
Lmao! Yes disconnecting the battery should always be the first step. I had mine backwards lol. I'm not a fan of electrical either. I can do it but prefer not to. I will dabble with the small projects though. Anything car related is never cheap. I feel more comfortable working on my boat over cars. Dug if you are techy with anything you know how to throw some good videos together my friend :) Thanks for your support and stopping by!
Do you have the parts info I need to get one for a 14
Sorry. I do not. All I did was some internet searching to find mine.
why didnt you just get the one that plugs in?
Because I couldn't find one. This is what was available so I used it.
We installed the ignition switch and engine didn’t start?
Hey Jessica. So you installed it and it never turned over at all? If that's the case it may be something else wrong with the motor or you could have gotten a faulty switch. Could be a wiring issue.
Ours fell apart today had to get towed out of lake
Oh no that's not good! I definitely know that feeling.
Can’t see the color codes at all
Hey Jim thanks for your comment. Sorry I didn't show the color codes. Figured it was a pretty easy swap just matching colors with the old one I ripped out. Will keep your comment in mind if I make another video like this.
Thanks for your understanding. My Tracker has multiple purple wires, multiple yellow/red wires, now switch won’t turn 75Hp motor off:((( Help
It’s a great video:)))
@@JimNobles-gv4ky so my understanding is its going on a 75hp? Mine was a 60hp. Not sure if the wiring hook up is similar. I wish I could tell you more. Damn.
@@JimNobles-gv4ky thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it but it doesn't sound like it solved your problem. Where you could ask this question is in the Facebook ground Tracker Pro Team 175 Owners. I'm part of that group and everyone is pretty helpful in helping out or posting upgrades and stuff in general. Its definitely worth joining.
