- In this episode, we continue our journey to bring our new sail boat from Gig Harbour Washington to Canada during one of the coldest winters in decades. After a snowy stopover on the Swinomish channel in La Connor Washington, we make our way back to Vancouver, BC.
We encounter some challenging weather conditions with high winds, extreme temperatures and get welcomed back to Canada by a school of white sided dolphins.

Really good stuff and good on you. We have a Sun Odyssey 40 (2003) and sail/race in Commencement Bay (Tacoma) and take a summer cruise north, spending most of our time in the Gulf Islands. Have you ever taken time to appreciate what it would have been like hundreds of years ago when they would sail the seas with no comforts of today? Serious bravery and skill.

Hi Kit! Thanks for your comment. Yes definitely something I think about - especially when we are anchored in areas with large tidal shifts and rocky outcrops. The early explorers on the west coast were a serious bunch. Technology and Chris’ understanding of the wind and waves definitely make it easier for me 🍻

We were so eager, the cold wasn’t that bad but now that we have had a taste of summer desolation sound and the gulf islands, a little tougher hearing up for the snowy sail days. lol
