look, snow!
=skiing. :-)
Thank you so much for posting these. You guys are so amazing!!!!
Your yacht looks like a cosy and happy place. Thanks for your inspirational Vids.
Oispa täälläkin... Nauttikaa! ❄❄
Next time something is frozen or snow, just melt with sea water.Pour a bucket of salt [sea) water over it 👍😁
Juho, and Sohvi, this is what makes your channel so great. Most sailing channels are stereotypical and mundane. Tropical locations, girl/wife in bikini, and beer. You guys take us to places that sailing cruisers normally don't go. Where else can we see a sailboat that looks like it should be on the cover of a Christmas card? 😄 I am very happy to see your channel growing, and I have been with you since you were just under 20k subscribers. Rock on! 🤙
Well spoken
Totally agree .. you guys are amazing.. and love the music/ shots it’s really artistic action in motion.. big feels from Aotearoa Aroha nui
There's nothing to criticise in bikini sailing as long as it actually is _sailing_ , not just most motoring between T&A content creation. Many people avoid places with sailing conditions though, instead of going there. I think that's what makes things looking so boringly mundane much more than the bikini pics. On the other hand, would all those ice-tea sailors go where wind and sailing fun is, much of that fun would wane quickly I reckon.
You mean la vagabonde
@@WOWTODAZ VOMIT!
I think sailing in the winter takes advanced skills, fortitude, and willpower. It's not for every sailor. Thank you for sharing. 👏
You forgot the most important part; having balls
I am OK with it and even find it the most enjoyable sailing possible but condition nb 1 is it's warm inside the boats, or the fun part isn't there anymore and it's just like hell.
Thanks! I have never seen anyone steer into the cold as you guys are, I hope this helps.
How did you do the donation - presume it is a one off.
@@nickbenfell4327there is a little thanks button now that u can tip your favourite creators
Best sailing channel on UA-cam……. By far
This journey deserves hour long vids. Who else agrees?
Longer videos would be great.
Agree
I agree am looking forward to your journey
I would like to see a video once you get the cabin fully insulated & winterized...
Agree!
Something about being out in conditions that most people spend large amounts of time and money to avoid just seems so appealing to me. Can't wait to see what happens next.
I wholeheartedly agree. Hot or cold, it is always a way better adventure when there is a challenge.
It's that peace and quiet away from those snowbirds some of us enjoy.
I know exactly what you mean. It feels cozy right? Here in America where I am, I sometimes have a major snow storm hit me, and before it does i put up a tent with some bedding and blankets, including some for my dog and the moment the storm starts, we quickly duck out to the temporary shelter, for somr cozy chocolate cocoa, maybe a book, some old style fire light from a gas lantern, and maybe watching a dog themed movie projected on the inside wall of the tent!
I'm by myself having the first meal on my first sailboat right as you uploaded the video, thanks for the entertainment guys!
wow Sebastian, congrats! that's incredible! and i'm honoured that you're watching the video there!
Congratulations and good luck with your future travels.
Great stuff Sebastiaan. How good it is.
Sebastiaan, congratulations my friend. You will never forget that first boat and the special time aboard. After 50 years as a professional sailor and Captain I can tell you that these moments will be cherished forever. Take it all in!

Cheers mate.. my dream come true by u😂😂!! Have a great time!!
You guys are the bikers of the sailing world. When the weather is bad and the fair weather crowd is safe at home, your out there in the middle of it. I love it!
I am even worse! I don't like riding my bicycle when it is below 25°C because it feels cold in my arm pits.
I wouldnt associate them with bikers any sense. Maybe nordac adventurers. .
What's magical..is the quality of your videos..the shots/ drone footage/story telling, music & editing...outstanding..can't get enough..BTW every sailboat needs a hard working crew member like Veera...In Canada, no matter your mode of transportation, one needs a snow brush and a good shovel!
Let's not forget his accent and calming nature. 😊
I wish I had been able to come see you in BC but the cards did not fall right. Your channel is wonderfully interesting and that is all your doing. Thank you.
thanks so much!
Spray the gaskets on hatches and ports with WD 40. It is fishoil, and displaces water. No water, no ice. Anyway, it works and doesn't harm surfaces.
Duct tape and WD-40 is all that we need here at Possum Lodge !!! And remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy !!! 😂
for the snow maybe get a leaf blower cordless , blow most of the snow off and vasoline for the hatch rubbers should help you , keep those videos coming....hopefully some snowboarding for you guys soon 😎
Problem in Southern BC is the snow is wet and a leaf blower won’t be of any use. You have to shovel. That was bad timing to arrive in Nanaimo during one of our snow storms which are very infrequent.
Funny I was just thinking they should get a leaf blower then I seen ur comment 😄
Your sister looks well handy with that shovel. Good crew, probably resourceful like her kin and not scared of hard work nor adversity. Good luck to you all, I look forward to your videos more than any other on YT. Thanks skipper.
I think you'll find that the girl is his girlfriend. Sovhi is her name
@@paulreilly3904 He's talking about his sister, Veera, that they picked up in Nanaimo. Did you even watch the video?
It's really nice to see you look so bloody happy to be in amongst the SNOW!
"Going to pick up a snow shovel and my sister" 😂
I love the sense of being a whale when the footage goes past human settlements like the harbour the refinery, the scatterings of buildings, as if you have become a different, marine, animal. and the humans are over there. it's a very strange sense it gives me. how wonderful to do this. thanks for sharing it.
You have more snow there than we do here in Switzerland. Nice video, good camera work - thanks!
I was just wondering if a leafblower wouldn’t help you with getting snow off the boat
Soft powder snow works great. My folks use it on there boat and at the house. Not so good on Wet or heavier snow.
Did you know there is an expression in Canada? "Crazy as a Finn?" Be safe.
So nice to see you cruising in my area and as you go further north along British Columbia's coast I promise it will be even more amazing!
It sure will
I read 'Passage to Juno' years ago and was smitten!
Alfy!! I miss you man!! High Devlin! 😂...........⛵⛵⛵
So amazing
We live in Darwin Australia and it’s about 32 degrees C every day of the year
Having to sweep snow from the deck is so far from our reality
Absolutely love the adventures you take us on. Thanks
You have one of the very best channels on UA-cam. Thank you.
Greetings from Campbell River, BC. You will be passing by our home as you navigate Discovery Passage. 😊
They are most likely already past. These vids are a few weeks behind real time.
I know that they have already passed by as the snowstorm in Nanaimo was around Christmas Day.
You guys amaze me for the courage of not letting weather or temperature, stop you. 😊
Dziękujemy.
You are truly blessed to have two wonderful women in your life.
You look happier than ever!
You really should know that you are my biggest hero and what you two do is beyond epic.
🥰🥰
Another truly amazing episode. I knew, when you purchased this new vessel in California, that your voyage to Alaska would be breath taking. You never disappoint and we are so thankful for the topic, fantastic editing & music which accompanies the video. You certainly are a living legion, sailing in the Arctic. Enjoy the skiing, you both deserve the tranquility.
Super! Greeetings from Germany!
hallo und danke!
Wow small world! I was born in Comox BC 🇨🇦. My dad was from Denmark 🇩🇰. Our family moved to Central America about 16 years ago. Watching from the jungles of Belize 🇧🇿 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌄
While my boat is sitting on the hard and I am in a warm house, I must say I have huge respect for those of you that winter sail. It is on another level. cheers!
Skip Novak.
Another great episode. Pictures, settings and storytelling are really great! Love it. 🤠
My parents had boats many years ago. It always was a fun summer. Sometimes I would stay on their boat with my dog for a few days. She loved going to her “gramma & grampa’s” boat. She loved to sit on my lap and bark at all the ducks who would visit our swim platform. We lived in Michigan, so we never did any winter boating. I can’t imagine how cold it must get. The only thing I can relate to is I used to take the bus back and forth to work. Sometimes it would be below zero F. I don’t know how you can relax in the evening after working so hard all day.
Absolutely Magical
Seeing that boat go from slowly decaying forgot about vessel to sailing up the west coast of Canada in all her snow covered glory is awesome. The two of you deserve that boat and that boat deserves you.
Sails up cruising those frigid waters she looks glorious.
Nice video Juho, my son and I enjoyed the snow shots.
Great job with this video. Loved the sound track.
Love for the little "Humppa!"-Music while shuffeling 😍😄🤣
humppa rocks
I paddled down from Telegraph Cove to Victoria last Oct in my sea kayak.
Peaceful & quiet. Beautiful
I grew up in Hoonah, Alaska. Back when it was still Whitestone logging camp, and my dad was a logger. It was incredible. I didn’t know until I was older and gone just how incredible it is.
Pretty cool to stumble on this and see images that are already in my mind from childhood but forgot. Thank you.
Wow what a beautiful video- loved the Drone clips of the snow- a beautiful time to sail - looking forward to your beautiful adventure- you guys do a great job with your videos- I know editing is so time consuming- keep up the great work
Cold & hard wet stuff. Water comes in several forms.
Takk!
Words cannot express how grateful i am for this type of content
God bless!!!!! Canada 🇨🇦
Champagne powder snow!
I wish you fair winds and may they always be at your back.
FYI, spend a little and get a battery operated leaf blower! It will make quick work of this type of snow
Unreal video. As a Canadian, it was extra fun to watch.
It's always so enjoyable watching your sailing videos, which I'm thankful you're making again....
The snow on all the boats in harbor looks so beautiful and tranquil...💖
Wishing you all safe travels..
You are so lucky to be such a great couple. Even have a great sister.
Hi to you both from the UK, newly subscribed although have been watching for a long time! Great content - you both seem so calm even when things don't go to plan. Please keep the videos coming, the longer the better.
So awesome to see you both back in the colder weather sailing again. Lumi's red sail sunbrella really pops in the snowy conditions. Another great video Juho. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for bringing us along on your gentle adventure.
That night shot with lights on in cabin....Looks sooo cozy!
Thanks!
thank you dave!
Hi guys, thank you so much for the videos you make. After a stressful day your videos always get me back in chill mode. I am a bit jealous too. But in a positive way. Stay safe and thanks for sharing and greetings from the Netherlands.
I am SO excited for you two. Thanks for taking us along.
Your understated sense of humor is developing rather nicely
wow! Incredibly beautiful all that snow.
You guys should get a battery powered leaf blower. A fairly high powered leaf blower would blow that snow off of all those hard to shovel places
My Siamese cat, Java and I live on our 30' Newport sloop on the Columbia River. I have been doing liveaboards most of my adult life, and I cannot imagine living on land. If you ever make it back down to the Columbia River, stop by St. Helens Oregon and hang out. We have very nice public docks with electrical power, and a nice marina with a store and fuel dock. It is worth a side trip up-river from Astoria.
I'm a merchant marine AB Seaman. I'm saving up all I have to buy my first sailboat all cash. The boat + a storage unit is all I need.
The waters I grew up in! Salt spring island, maple bay and cowichan bay! Welcome
I'm pretty excited to have found your channel, I'm getting Forestry Forest vibes for quality of content and atmosphere.
Hey, moi, very cool serie. Thnx Juho. One notice: why keyboard of Sophy laptop is Cyrillic?:)
Answered in other comments. She bought in in Russia many moons ago.
Danke!
Absolutely stunning snow show!
Juho and Sohvi, I have been following you folks, simply amazed with your winter ventures. I am a tropical man in total awe of what you are doing
Thanks again for your impressions sailing in winter. Very nice.
Sitting on my sofa I can only imagine how cold it must be.
Take care.
My dad lived on his boat Year round for nearly 30 years. He especially liked the winter at his winter marina. The shrink wrap made that boat very cozy.
Thanks
Beautiful pictures .. thanks for sharing
Brilliant video Juho thanks for sharing
Beautiful scenery. Your sister is a hard worker and good sport. Stay warm and safe
Thank you, this is great fun, following along on your journey and learning about your adventures. Stay safe and enjoy your selves.
Thank you for showing sailing in wintertime. I have always wondered what it would be like. Keep warm and best luck
Your story telling and easy going approach to life sets a sweet mood for the week. Pics are excellent allowing a land locked old lady sweet refuge. Thanks much!
Great work, fabulous shots! Many thanks.
Beautiful video as always! Hope to see a tour of the boat!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Great video Juho, Solvi and Veera. Great that Juhos sister is along to help and support. Stay safe and enjoy the skiing.
I have found that if I am not leaving the dock, that leaving the snow on the decks actually helps keep the heat inside the boat and insulates it very well. I am on a 30' Newport sloop and run 2 1500w electric heaters on low or medium and when it gets below 28F I have a Dickenson diesel heater that can roast me out of the boat if I turn it up. I have a bunch of titanium holding my spine together, so I prefer to keep it in the low 70'sF, and I do that with a portlight open so my Siamese cat can come and go as she pleases. No bird droppings on my decks!
My boat is on the hard on Texada Island, close to your starting point.
Almost every day I am at the boat yard, several of us are all looking out and wishing we had at least one sailboat out.
It's a truly magical time of year there.
Glad you are enjoying it.
So cool to see you guys in my local waters! Enjoy yourselves, there are some amazing spots on the BC coast as you go north, especially once you get past Johnstone Straight. Keep an eye out for hotsprings on your way.
Great sail you had, and mind the logs as you go! Thanks so much for sharing!
You guys are living my dream life. Awesome. 😊
Fabulous video! Yes, we were snowed in for a few days on Vancouver Island. Happy to follow along with you! Enjoy the Canadian coastline.
That snow really was looking magical!
Absolutely intoxicating.
My best sailing channel by far now. You have are powerful calmness about u Johu, must be so very reassuring for all on board.
Much love to u & Sohvi, from New Zealand ;-)
Beautiful and challenging!
Veera giggles makes me laugh 😂
Every thing is a little harder to do in the winter but so beatutiful. Love you guys and safe sailing to you.
Wonder if the cordless milwaukee leaf blower wouldn't be handy for removing the soft snow. They are incredibly handy.
You are absolutely right, that amount of snow on south coastal BC is very rare.
Heads up, the inside passage can get really fuggly, quickly. Be safe.
I'm really enjoying these videos, not a sailor but I never miss a chance to go for an adventure on any boat I can sneak onto. Looking forward to the next one!
Seems so peaceful
What a beautiful landscape! The fact that you manage to find some humor while fending off hypothermia is enough of a reason for me to continue watching your channel. I hope you figure out how to get the water tanks filled and continue your passage safely. Definitely subbed. ❤❤🥶🌊
