No more tears - Ozzy with Zakk Wylde on the guitar, good rhythm, nice solo. Zakk is a living legend, now playing in Pantera replacing his late bestfriend Dime.
Yeah, Zakk Wylde is worth a listen on his own. He may enjoy a track like "Sleeping Dogs", especially the b-side remix with Corey Taylor. I've always been a fan of Metal + Blues, and no one does it better.
Randy was a genius. He would triple track his solos and no one could ever tell. He saved Ozzy! And keep in mind they recorded these albums in a short period of time. He didn't need a year to sound this great!
The fade out on the outro solo is an absolute sin. I can't believe they chose to do that. Randy was a maestro and I can't imagine what he still had to offer. RIP Randy. 💔🤘🎸
This song was inspired by a book about Aleister Crowley that Osbourne had read, and a deck of tarot cards found in the studio as recording of the album was commencing. Crowley was an English occultist and ceremonial magician who had founded the Thelemite religion in the early 20th century.
We never would have found out how great Randy would've been as a rock guitarist even if he never perished in that crash. He actually told Ozzy he wanted to quit and go to university.
Ya never know... Hopefully he would have done a Steve Vai thing... I don't know that he could have ever NOT performed live again. I would hope so - Randy is my hero
We already KNEW how great he was because of those two records with Ozzy. That's why when he perished, he left a huge void. Were you actually alive when he died?
Exactly. I was alive when he tragically died and he wanted to temporarily quit performing to further study music at the University level. He was going to take a break to enhance his knowledge of music theory, composition etc. He wasn't 'quitting" music. Far from it. With that said, for the all to brief period he was with us he was one of the greats in so many ways. Back in the day, I had a guitar instructor that had briefly known Randy and to paraphrase he said of Randy "He was a gem of a guy. A truly good guy." Everything I've ever read about Rhoads indicates that's true.
The cool thing about Randy’s playing is that it’s very classically influenced. Whereas most guitarist from this time (in rock) are more blues influenced.
I truly envy you younger folks that get to hear this stuff for the first time ever. It has to be an amazing experience. I take for granted that I’ve heard it all my entire life. Honestly think you appreciate it more than I do anymore. Makes me happy it’s not going to die with time though.
Randy Rhodes and Eddie Van Halen were rivals in LA at the time and the people who knew, knew that RR was the superior guitar player but EVH had a band named after him that was quickly becoming one of the most popular bands of the time and Randy was in Quiet Riot which was kind of a 80s garage hair band. So history judges as it does. But the proof is in the pudding.
There are so many talented guitarists today who can all play amazing solos but Randy was one of the first of a kind who blew us all away 40 plus years ago with his unique style and talent, Ozzy was lucky to have found him for us all to enjoy 🙂
Randy 😢 The lead guitar in this song, to this day, still makes the hair on my arms stand straight up. Lucky to see him in '81. Had tickets for '82 in Orlando, but then the unbelievable happened. Randy changed my life, seriously. Enjoy
This song is so catchy. I sing the chorus around the house after I hear this song, everytime. I'll sing "Mr. Crowley" then I'll sing the riff. LOL. My kids tell me, shut up dad.
I think people vastly underestimate the sheer volume of available music to listen to. Heck, I'm still finding music from the 80s that I've never heard and I LIVED for music in the 80s.

True, but that is an incorrect translation in the KJV bible. When translated from the original Greek text to English no rider is mentioned. Either No More Tears or Hellraiser
The Live at Budokan dvd is freaking awesome with Zakk, Rob and Mike as Ozzy's band.
