This is one of the most iconic songs ever made.. frontman Robert Plant is an amazing performer. 1975!! No autotune, no crazy production techniques no bullshit.. guitarist Jimmy Page is an nutcracking performer. This double neck guitar is awesome and is so difficult to play due to its size. The solo is a chapter for it self. Pure improvisation every time it’s played. Page could improvise his solo for several hours if not stopped.. this is amazing.

Stairway to Heaven is considered not just the best ROCK song ever written but it might be the best song EVER written...period. There were people in the 70's, mostly parents, that thought the band had sold their souls to the devil in return for being given this masterpiece (seriously!!). There were radio stations and record stores that refused to play or sell that song/album because they they didn't want their children to listen to it because they thought something bad might happen to them because they thought the song was cursed by the devil. Mainly southern states (highly religious region of America). I loved it when it came out, but I still think "Kashmir" is their best song.
This is the greatest rock song ever made, I still remember the first time I heard it in 1983! I have the studio version etched in my brain, so as good as this is, I still rather the studio version. This was absolutely the best choice for a first Led Zep song to listen to. The nice thing about them is that their stuff can range from folky acoustic songs to hard rock to blues and everything in between. Lots of other good songs from them; just start at their first album and work forward from there!
Jimmy Page was already doing well in the business as a studio musician in the 1960s and played the guitar on studio recordings of all the bands known at the time. He then became solo guitarist with the then very successful Yardbirds and founded Led Zeppelin after their dissolution in 1968. In a very short time they became the biggest and most successful band of the late sixties and seventies. With John Bonham, who was still relatively unknown at the time, Page had brought one of the best drummers in rock history into his band. The 19-year-old Robert Plant, with his then unique singing style, was recommended to him by another singer. Unfortunately, Plant is a bit hoarse at this concert and doesn't do the loud part of Stairway to Heaven very well. Not to be forgotten is the humble John Paul Jones on bass and keyboards. Like Page, he was a studio musician in the 1960s and both knew each other from that time. Led Zeppelin were a band that couldn't be defined stylistically. Her repertoire is enormous. From blues to folk to hard rock, you can find everything on their albums. They never repeated or copied themselves. Every song is different. Greetings from Germany
Plant and Page both sounded better (imo) in the Madison Square Garden live version of 1973. Plant hits all the high notes and Page's solo, while still amazing here, is more cohesive in the earlier concert.
@@lisapriebe7729 Vocally, I think the live version from 1971 in the Paris Theater is the best. It's only available as an audio version. Especially the fast part, Plant still sounds like he did on his first albums. In 1973, his voice was already starting to change. You can hear that especially in Over the Hills and Far Away. The live version from Madison Square Garden was much less high and louder than in 1972 (How the West Was Won).
I won't argue again the overall greatness of the band and Jimmy Page (that would just be crazy talk), but I must be honest and say that I haven't seen/heard a single live performance where I felt that Robert Plant did a decent job. Even when he sound's fine, he doesn't replicate the coolest moments of the studio versions. I'm all for embellishments and ad libs but only on top of the studio version's moments.
Some people do pause too much. But it's a reaction video; if i didn't want to hear what you think I'd just watch the original video. You do what you think is best. It's like anything else; the more you do this the more you'll get the hang of what feels right. Don't listen to the haters!
Just subbed after watching your Floyd reactions and then I came across this one : ) Try Immigrant Song, Dazed and Confused, Kashmir, Heartbreaker,Whole lotta love, In My Time Of Dying ..... there are too many to list lol Just start from their 1st album and work your way through, there are no bad songs on any of their albums and you will not be disappointed.
Love your reaction and the appreciation you show, I mean we are talking Led Zeppelin, and the guitar king Jimmy Page.... Rock N Roll Gods!!! When the levee breaks, Im Gonna leave you, Quarter, Kashmir, Dazed & Confused...❤
You've found Led Zeppelin, the GOAT ! They are the Reason later rock bands existed. A tip for any of their best use Live at Madison Square Garden 1973. Stairway is better Jimmy's guitar solo is better. Bear in mind they never played the same song the same way twice😂 by 75 Jimmy was starting his degree in practical pharmaceuticals, which lasted until 85. Honestly listen to Stairway from 73 at MSG is 🔥 you will love it more , so more tears I promise, then for a other exceptional guitar solo the bluesy track Since I've been Loving You, oh wow.
Every solo Jimmy ever played he improvised! Studio or live. They never played the same song the same way twice. BEST BAND EVER!! Ps this is r9bwrts WORST year vocally. He lost the INSANE power and range he had pre 73. He's been getting better ever since
Just starting to get into these reactions. It's fun to hear you reactors. Give your opinion of the music we grew up with In the seventies. You started with the greatest band, but you've just scratched the surface of the seventies. Keep enjoying as much as we do.
Robert Plant was sick with a cold during this , my god still the best !! I'm going to see Robert Plant on August 13th and 14th 2024... another 4 days, Robert is still fantastic!! I seen him back in 1983 at PNE Coliseum, Vancouver, British Columbia
Oh god what a song. It was a fabulous time to be young. The era oozed with great great music, when we sat on the floor, facing the stereo, drenched in new emotions.
I love Led Zeppelin! They are really at the top of my fav bands ever! I think that Jimmy Page is an amazing and gifted musician who sings through his guitar and Robert Plant can sing like no other. I grew up listening to their music and sang all these songs as a little girl. I love them and always will. Be sure and listen to Kashmir, that's my fav song ever! Listen to the original Kashmir and then the live version from Celebration Day. It's phenomenal!!! Also, "The Song Remains the Same/The Rain Song", "Thank You", and all of them actually!! LOL
You should watch some of Eric Clapton's live music especially the song called 'Old Love' the guitar solos are amazing, plus I guarantee that you'll know 2 of his songs called 'Layla' and 'Wonderful Tonight' but he's in the same league as Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin but with different styles
Released in 1971, is one of the most played and revered songs. Robert Plant has one of the distinctive voices of all time. Jimmy Page is a living legend playing guitar
Think about how many bands there has ever been. Then think that of all of those bands, this one is considered by many to be #1. For pure rock I agree with them. The musicians, Page, Jones and Bonham are all considered tops in their instruments. Plant is absolutely timeless. Led Zeppelin is timeless.
Welcome to the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole. You will never get tired of this band and will continue to research, listen, and learn their music. Fantastic ride with this bands music and history. When the levy breaks Bring it on home Tangerine And many many more
Great reaction!!! I love it!!! I'm 58 years old, and I absolutely love seeing our younger generations learning all about Led Zeppelin!!❤❤❤ #JimmyPage #RobertPlant #JohnPaulJones #JohnBonham
I cry every time I hear this song. It speaks to my soul. Led Zeppelin are and forever will be the greatest rock band. Every song of theirs is unforgettable. Even their lesser known ones would have been a smash hit if it was by anyone else. Also they managed to change styles on every subsequent album whilst still staying yrue to the Zeppelin 'sound'. Loved your reaction too.
I reeeeeally enjoyed watching your reaction to one of my favorite songs from my favorite band. I was lucky enough to see them as my 1st concert live in 1976 at the NEW Pontiac Silverdome just built for the Detroit Lions, they jammed 105,000 people in there. Bad Company never showed up as the warm up band so we had 3 hours to jump the tiers and work our way down the main floor to the stage. When Led Zeppelin finally appeared on the stage the crowd surged forward and I was pushed up against the stage. I can tell you that this was the most amazing show I have ever seen in my life and it was such a treat to be that close. Robert Plants' abdomen, diaphragm and larynx were all moving with every note like nothing I have ever seen. He really pours it out and Jimmy Page was already my favorite guitarist but when he pulled out the violin string to get that sound in "Whole Lotta Love", I was blown away at how . JPJ and Bonzo were like machines with internal metronomes that give them their unique and never repeated groove and back beat. It was like being hypnotized watching each solo lick. I also enjoyed watching you very much and will enjoy more from you as I Liked and Subscribed to your channel. I hope you reach all of your goals...
Being a hip hop fan your next reaction to Zeppelin has to he When the Levee Breaks. You'll recognize the opening drum track as being one of the most sampled peices in history.

Awesome honest reaction. I watch your channel to see you react to music that I love. I dont watch it expecting you to know everything about the band members & I don't mind at all how many time you pause or comment because that's what I'm expecting to see. If I want to see a song without that then geeze Louise I'd not watch it from a reaction. I find you refreshing & real to watch. Cheers & Peace Out!!
When young reactors say "that was a long intro' i want to shout 'it's the song, the whole song and nothing but the song!'. They're written that way to hear the whole experience. Quick edit. I must be among the few who prefer this to MSG, which i have on DVD and love.

Heart does an amazing version of stairway to heaven LIVE at the Kennedy center. Talk about chills. That’s the song.
2nd best cover of all time. Only surpassed by The Man in Black's goodbye "Hurt". 😢
Definitely Heart singing Stairway honoring them!
Yes!!!
@@fixzeichner5592 I'll check it out!
😊 So great to see a young person discovering this classic for the first time ❤❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed your reaction. I remember being at University and hearing the song played very loudly in the dorms--it was epic.
U have to listen to studio ver,, Jimmy was also such a craftsman
I can't believe that there are people in the world who have never heard music like this before.
@@KelpieDog that is what makes this so great!
G.O.A.T. of all bands, everyone in the band was arguably the best in there profession.
Just subbed after watching your Floyd reactions and then I came across this one : )
Try Immigrant Song, Dazed and Confused, Kashmir, Heartbreaker,Whole lotta love, In My Time Of Dying ..... there are too many to list lol Just start from their 1st album and work your way through, there are no bad songs on any of their albums and you will not be disappointed.
Love your reaction and the appreciation you show, I mean we are talking Led Zeppelin, and the guitar king Jimmy Page.... Rock N Roll Gods!!! When the levee breaks, Im Gonna leave you, Quarter, Kashmir, Dazed & Confused...❤
“Fool In The Rain”
It’s unreal.
The drum
Solo alone is legendary.
This was THE Anthem of my teens.... Brilliance personified.
Love Led Zeppelin. They are unmatched.
This song done live at Madison Square Garden is a MUST SEE. Full stop.
Jimmy Page can make that guitar talk, sing, and cry. They were all magic together.
Arguably the greatest rock song ever!
Four guys doing their jobs impeccably. Zep is just next level. Thank you for a great reaction.
LOL
You've got a good ear for spotting the scope of how a song is progressing.
Jimmy is Guitar Guitar is Jimmy
Youre on the true path kiddo !!! 60 yr old metal freak Everytime is like the 1st time xx
Love Peace n HUGE Respect xxx
Singer is Robert Plant, guitarist is Jimmy Page, Bass/keyboards John Paul Jones, Drummer John Bonham(RIP)
When the levy breaks
Bring it on home
Tangerine
And many many more
Great reaction!!! I love it!!! I'm 58 years old, and I absolutely love seeing our younger generations learning all about Led Zeppelin!!❤❤❤ #JimmyPage #RobertPlant #JohnPaulJones #JohnBonham
Love your channel young man. I saw this concert in 75 and it was emotional listening to Jimmy Page. Listen to drummer John Bonham “ Moby Dick” . ❤️
This live version is so perfect. Robert Plant's delivery is perfection. The instrumental arrangement is stellar.
Had the privilege of seeing them years ago, in 1975, and I'm still rocking out to Zeppelin, never too old!!
Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love (Official Music Video) and also "Kashmir" Live at Celebration Day in 2007. Rock gods then and always.
Masterpiece!!!!!!!!
Look for stairway to heaven covered by Heart at the Kennedy center it's amazing
The best part is that there’s a 100 more great Led Zep songs for you to discover and share your reaction. Basically anything off the 4CD Remasters collection.
Thank you that means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Ill definitely do more Led Zeppelin videos!
The amazement on your face as you watch the musicians I grew up with is awesome!
When young reactors say "that was a long intro' i want to shout 'it's the song, the whole song and nothing but the song!'. They're written that way to hear the whole experience.
Quick edit. I must be among the few who prefer this to MSG, which i have on DVD and love.
Whether it’s the whole song or not, it’s still a long intro
THIS IS AND WILL FOREVER BE THE BEST BAND EVER!
Welcome to the greatest band to ever grace this planet .. Enjoy the ride
🙏❤💫 Oh the 60's and 70's! ❤❣
