I like how you are thorough in each step, to explain the different methods, paint choices and the reasons to wait between each layer.
Plus, when you rubbed the wax on your hand, that was an excellent example to show the lack of harmful chemicals.
Also, LOVED your tip about rubbing brown wax on your wood furniture for a "face-lift."
Thank you for your very kind tutorial.

Great video! Close up shots were great for detail to see how the wax really works. Thanks.

I love how much you put on and how it looks. I watched a few others before yours and I think they put too much. Thank you for the video. I wonder if it was how you did it or if it was that the other videos were with the AS paint and wax??

Love watching you do this. I’ve got Asian carved pieces and want to change the colour from brown to a cream neural but still rustic. I’d love to see what you would do to take the edge off the brown it currently is . I’m too scared to touch it 😆

I've painted my kitchen cabs. in a solvent based ocean blue and was curious to know if the Vintage Wax will work over a solvent based coating? Thanks,

I recently bought your Chateau color at Timeless in Bakersfield. I am interested in what wax color you suggest with this color. I painted an armoire and a bed frame. I just want some shading done on my bedroom set. Thank you

could I use the dark wax ontop of my hickory lightly varnished cabinets just to bring out the moldings & panels more? Or would a glaze be more appropiate? New to this... thanks!

+Kelli Prewitt The wax should work for a project like it. I would suggest a small, 4oz wax to try it with though because without knowing exactly the varnish, it's hard to guess. The glaze is meant for over our paint.

I'm not a big fan of chalk pant my preference is for something with a sheen.. just not matt.. do you have other videos of the old fashioned way to get an antique finish in furniture? Thanks

Can you add a sealer or varnish after you apply the wax or will the wax prevent it from absorbing? I would like to be able to protect my table with a sealer or varnish so that I can easily wipe it off whenever it gets dirty?

    • @allyb2217
      @allyb2217 6 років тому

Bcc074 u might no the answer by now but the wax is the sealer. But u can put another over if u would like it to last longer. I think u have to re do the wax every 6months to a year

Hello, Wax is not a sealer. only an enhancement. You can use any of our VM&D Sealers over top of our waxes or any of our decorative finishes vintagepaperandpaint.com/vm-d-sealers/

So you can put a sealer on top of wax? That seems contrary to one another that they would not mix.

This is the only chalk company I have ever seen say that and I watxh alot of different brands and people that do this and they say you can seal then wax but not the other way around and wax does seal it a bit but not as well as a proper sealer. I watch debi design diary, jami ray vintage, and abput 5 other people from various companies nit just diy paint and I have never heard this before from any of them but the opposite of what is said.

Es cera para acabado vintage. Si hay home depot o alguna tienda parecida en tu país, ahí búscalo. Tiendas de pintura, de cosas para el hogar, etc.

Seems the video lacks info Where to get the product etc. also looks like no one replies to any questions or comments. Great look but the companies representation with lack of info is itself lacking. Where are the other videos mentioned ? I see no others associated to this.
