- I said I used Denim at the end of the Video. THE COLOR IS ACTUALLY OCEAN
In this video, I take you through the steps on how to help milk paint get chippy and when I choose to wet distress and when I decide to use wax.

I said I used the Sweet Pickins Milk Paint color Denim at the end of the video but its actually SPMP in OCEAN. Sorry!
Close enough. I am sure both would be amazing.
Actually our oce an here in NC o s gray.
Well, this blue leans gray? Lol.
Jami Ray Vintage I so love this its just beautiful! !! Is the paints u used expensive? ??
Depends. A pint of Sweet Pickins Milk paint is enough to do a project this size. I sell it for $16.00
Hi Jami and Ray!! I just want to let you know that I watch all your videos, I started flipping furniture in August 2019 and made 28,500 PROFIT so far!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!
Yay! That’s so awesome!
Wow!! That's impressive..if i were back in the States, I would love to do that. But I live in Italy, out in the countryside with not a lot of sources to find stuff I could refinish..Kudos to you for being so successful.
Great job on this piece! I just love it when Jack pops in the video!!! He is so cute and makes me smile!!
BEAUTIFUL. Love the different pieces you've done.
Love that you showed up in an ad on UA-cam. I watch all of your videos. The best!
This is absolutely beautiful! You do beautiful work Jamie!
You are so gracious to share all of your knowledge! Thanks so much guys!
Aww, you’re so sweet! ❤️
Excellent! Very inspiring. Thanks Jami and Zeb and the little guy!
Awesome work. I’ve been watching all your great videos. So inspiring 😀
🦋Once again, you’ve made an ordinary piece into a warm beautiful table. I love it.
Hi Jami, I love this piece, it is lovely that you are showing furniture painted in a different colours. I find a lot of youtubers doing only white farmhouse furniture, and I really love pops of colour. 💖
We do our fair share of white, but I love colors and especially blended colors.
It’s always your videos that cover exactly what I need to do! thanks for always being there 😉
❤️❤️
I never get tired of viewing this video over and over...love the way it turned out!
Thanks! ❤️❤️
Well spoken , talented, thorough, and professional! I enjoyed this video
Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful! This is the look I want to achieve! Perfect!💗
Thank you Donna! ❤️❤️
Simply beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️
Beyond gorgeous!! I learned I need to trust the process…
That's just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful! Thanks so much for the video!
❤️❤️ Welcome!
This turned out beautiful thank you 😊
That came out great ❤️❤️💖❤️
LOVE the table!♡
I'm glad that you did a video on the different waxes and the different ways to distress the milk paint. I don't like to use my orbital sander on milk paint; just my sanding sponge or sandpaper. I haven't thought about the wet distress but glad to find out about that too. I want to try the white wax too before using the clear. Most of the time I use a liquid sealer and have found out that it does tend to make the milk paint chip more that I really like. I have the perfect piece I'm fixing to start on that will look GREAT this way. Can't wait to get started. Thanks for all of your and Zeb's great videos !!
Thanks Gloria! Happy painting!! ❤️❤️
Wow you gave a great idea for my home my wall ate blue drke it called storm so I'm going to do white and creams yellows I hope it's goes good together 🤔
Love this piece!
I loved this piece super chippy.
Wonderful! So informative!
That is one of the most beautiful pieces I have seen you paint! I love everything you do, it this one is extra beautiful! Thanks for all the tips and step by step explanations too. I have many projects waiting for warm weather...if it ever gets here to Ohio. More snow this morning...ugh! I might have to start moving furniture inside to paint soon.
Thanks! Our mountains got a little dusting on the tops a couple days ago but we’ve been in the 50’s in the valley here. Zeb sprayed a hutch in the driveway yesterday! ❤️❤️
Thank you, Jami that was a very informative video. I like to go back and watch these again and take notes (I have a notebook just for the purpose of chalk paint/milk paint/DIY paint) so I can reference techniques as I go. I love the table. Again thanks for sharing all the great techniques and ways to use DIY and milk paint. You mentioned doing a white wash type video I will be interested in that. I don't like using wax (I may try DIY wax it looks less like a thick paste than all that I have tried) so doing a white wash (or even a black wash) interests me.
Thank you! The white wash video will be coming soon.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Oh it’s so beautiful! Love that color!
Thanks! It’s one of my favorites!
Great job
Amazing tecnical!
Really like your videos! Thank you!
Love, love, love!
Very pretty!
Girl, you really are the “Bomb Dot Com”, that is BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE 💕 it.

LOVE this! I have a cheap side table from goodwill that I'm going to try this with, with white paint on top. Can't wait!
Awesome! Send pics! ❤️
Very beautiful your furniture, congratulations. Kisses from Portugal
That's BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thank you!
That table is so pretty.
Thanks Jamie, another great video. I really liked that you gave allot of detail as to how you did the piece and everything you used and why. =)
Thanks!
Really pretty Jami ❤️❤️❤️ And it sold super fast too, woohoo!!!
They backed out of the sale. 🙁 they wanted me to repaint it a different color and I politely declined lol. I’m hoping someone else will snag it quick though! My shop space is full and I don’t have room in the house. 😂
Jami Ray Vintage BOO 👎🏻
So gorgeous!!
Thank you!
Excellent job and your step by step explanations really help!
Oh good! Sometimes I can start piling on steps and it can confuse people.
excellent tutorial. specific straight to the point and I never see anyone recap as professionally as you. It creates a checklist in our mind that we can refer back to easily. And because you are careful to do this step often we can easily pull up a video and go right to where it would be. for a quick reference while working on a piece.
Great Job.
This was perfect timing for me as I"m planning to do a piece the exact same way, just different colors. I did love that color combo though, might have to buy more paint from you. Lol. Thanks for the step by step, I'm confident I can do this.
Yay! Would love to see your project!
Wow beautiful piece!
Thanks!
excellent video. thx
You guys do beautiful work
Thank you!
Loved this video! Do you have a cabinet whitewash video? I would like to do my kitchen cabinets.
This piece and color is gorgeous!! :-)
Fab and right on time for me.
Oh good!
Very nice job. This gave me the perfect color and paint ideas I have been struggling with relating to a piece of furniture (or two) for our family room. Another beautiful demo and nice departure from your typical white pieces which my house is not well suited to. I have a rustic cottage farmhouse like decor and own many pieces of the darker Eastlake furniture and white white will just not work well. This however is perfecto!!! 👍🏻 TFS
I get that, I love painting with color, But I also don’t put it in my house often unless it’s vintage shades of soft blue-greens. ❤️❤️
Thank you for the presentation. What kind of sealer to use between paint layers?
Espectacularmente bonito!!! ,el producto blanco que le pones para que le de un tono blanco, que es?? Pintura o alguna clase de patina.Gracias
Wow really nice jamie.
Thank you!
Love your vids and color choices i used the same colors in my bdroom, but i would also love to see some other color options into play like reds or yellows. I am planning an island piece for mom in law and want to change it up a little. Something that will pop a little without being overwhelming majority in the kitchen. Love you guys!
Years ago when I still lived in Vt, I did a standing cupboard. It was already old, but I hated the color..I painted it barn red, then painted a layer of millk paint that I made from scratch in a color I love that I call Depression Green. When it dried I just sanded it by hand so the red came through in places. It was beautiful. If you wanted to, you could start out with a mustard yellow as a first coat, then red, then green-- all old colors. It would look great.
Just beautiful
Thanks!
Very nice
That was a beautiful table, just saying,to each is own
was the "Grand Rapids"? this furniture was so lovely that it was often ordered and shipped thru out Europe.
OMG! I literally have that exact table that I'm wanting to distress!
I Jamie I painted a small table( it's old )black now I want to add either a country blue milk paint or white milk paint then distress it what do you think would be the best country blue shade? Or should I do white? My sofa and recliners are a light gray. And my accent pieces are country blue in my living room. The walls are a off white. Oh and do I need to use two different wax to finish with? I will also need brushes for wax and paint. What ones should I order. I have been using Annie Slone chalk paints now I am so looking forward to trying your Milk paint and Diy Paint. Thank you so very much I just love all your video's.
Beautiful ❤️
Thanks!
interesting the irony in the effort put towards making a piece of furniture look like nobody has made any effort to maintain it.
Beautiful piece! Love the color combination you used😊
Thanks!
Annette Thrall could you call this beachy?
I believe it could be used as a beach decor with the blue that she used, it’s a great piece of furniture 😊
I need to go shopping!!!!!!
Jami this is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! I’d LOVE to have this piece but since I can’t I will definitely try to do this to a small dresser I have. Thank you sooo much for this tutorial. You rock! BTW your hair looks beautiful. God bless you and your family.
You’re so sweet! Thank you!
Did you see in another comment that the buyer backed out? It might still be available if you check. 😁 You sounded like you wished you could buy it.
It’s sold again and this buying picked it up already. 😐
frugalmomofmany 😊 Thank you for being so thoughtful to let me know.
This is stunning!!! Can't wait to do this!
I Love this color.
TUFS
Hello! Wondering if you buffed the wax with a dry microfiber rage or a damp one?
Just ordered ocean and the white wax so that I can try this on my giant upright piano. Wish me luck!!
It’s gonna be awesome on a piano!
Love how this turned out, and I can’t believe that I actually had that very same piece of furniture a couple of years ago and let it go to the charity shop because I’d grown tired of it 😕 I should of painted it 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
So beautiful, but I did love it more without the white wax because of the deeper hue!
If you have a newer MDF piece, can you just put milk paint right on top (without sanding or priming)? Or should I prime w oil-based Kilz and then do the milk paint after?
Beautiful 🤗💕
What is the DIY paint you sprayed underneath. The brand and name please
How long does it take for the milk paint to dry .. this is amazing
Really pretty
Thanks!
Did you do a video on white wash technique? I would love to see that.
👏👏bravissima👍😘
Your such a sweetie, Jami. So is Zeb! I'm in Alberta, Canada, so where our dollar is sitting right now (which is usually wretched), purchasing and shipping in US $ isn't prudent. However...I try to hit the Like 'button' and painstakingly sit through adverts to help out you out. I just have to remember to share your page! Thx and keep up the ambition and continued learning!
Thank you!
Im making crates and want to do a white wash and stain behind the white and suggestions or what products should be used?
Great job Jami!! Thanks for being so thorough in your explanation. What type of paint and bond would you recommend for Formica kitchen cabinets from the 70’s? They’re still in good condition. I just wouldn’t know what to use if I wanted to paint them. Thanks so much and have a nice day!! 😊
Have you seen our cabinet painting video? I would use the same steps on Formica. 👍

Jami Ray Vintage Ok thanks Jami!! 😊
I painted a china hutch white but didn’t put any overcoat on the brown finish I applied polycrylic on top of white then used orbital sander to distress. I just distressed lightly because it took it down to the wood. What should have done differently and what to I need to put on for finishing coat
I love how the while wax softens the whole piece down.
I initially hadn’t planned on the white wax but it needed something. ❤️❤️
Jami Ray Vintage since u loaded the table up in a good layer of white wax...is it a must to also seal in clear wax if lets say the table wouldnt have alot of use and was more a decorative piece?
You’re fine to do just the white wax. I use the clear wax to tone the white wax down and blend it even more but if you like the look just leave the white wax.
I know this is an older video, but can you tell me what flowers you decorated with? The pink flowers are exactly what I've been looking for
Gorgeous piece!!! I'm new to this and I was wondering what was the splash of, "extra bond", you put into the red cup mixture?
Extra bond is an additive for milk paint to help it not crackle. I put just a little in because I wanted some crackle and chipping. If you put the recommended amount of extra bond in it doesn’t chip much if at all.
Just found you!! Beautiful table!! Just subscribed 👍😁
Thank you!
Great video and beautiful table! I am curious what can be used to clean a piece like this?
Once cured (about 30 days) it can be wiped down with a damp cloth
