      You can certainly use this cleanser on its own. However, you have the option to include a toner or serum if you prefer. Alternatively, you could just use a cream. The choice is yours! :)

      No, it is not necessary. Apply it a couple of minutes after. And if you want to minimize absorption, wait 15 minutes after washing the face. That works best for me so that the skin is dry.

      Hm... it may work, depending on how easily your sunscreen breaks down. I personally always use a balm cleanser as I find that this works the best for any type of sunscreen and/or makeup.

    Hi, can you use this to remove makeup and then the blue LRP foaming cleanser afterwards?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

      No, use a balm cleanser to remove the makeup; it works better and is more gentle.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  10 місяців тому

      @@barneygoddard993 You can certainly try to see if it effectively removes the makeup you're wearing. However, it might be harsh depending on the type of makeup you use. Over time, this might not be beneficial for your skin. I'd suggest using a balm and then alternating with the cleansers - kind of like a double cleansing method. You can rotate the cleansers you have for the second cleanse. Perhaps you can use them just in the morning. It's really about experimenting to see what works best for you. That said, I highly recommend a balm; I'm confident you'll love it. It's excellent for removing makeup and sunscreen.

    Is the same as the gentle hydrating cleanser??

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Рік тому

      They differ in several ways according to their ingredient lists:
      Ingredients: The Hydrating Gentle Facial Cleanser contains several ingredients not found in the Dermo Milky Cleanser, such as Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate (an emollient), Propanediol (a humectant), Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate (a viscosity agent), Polysorbate 60 (an emulsifier), Ceramide NP (a skin-replenishing ingredient), Niacinamide (a form of Vitamin B3 that can brighten skin and strengthen its barrier), Sodium Chloride (a viscosity-increasing agent), Coco-Betaine (a surfactant), Disodium EDTA (a chelating agent), Panthenol (a form of Vitamin B5 that has skin-soothing properties), and Tocopherol (Vitamin E). These ingredients together offer a more complex formulation which could provide additional benefits such as hydration, skin barrier repair, and soothing effects.
      The Dermo Milky Cleanser has a simpler formula, with Ethylhexyl Palmitate (a texture enhancer and emollient), Dipropylene Glycol (a solvent and moisturizer), Carbomer (a thickening agent), Sodium Hydroxide (a pH adjuster), Capryl Glycol/Caprylyl Glycol (a skin-conditioning agent), and Ethylhexylglycerin (a skin-conditioning agent). This minimalistic formula is designed to effectively cleanse the skin with less potential for irritation, especially for those who have extremely sensitive or reactive skin.

      @@MelissaVanDijkOfficialDo you think any benefit can be had despite the product being on for such a short period of time before it's washed off (typically, anyway)?
      Bought and tried the LRP hydrating gentle cleanser last week as the second part of my double-cleanse to remove my Olay, which I'm switching back to after a year of CeraVe. Felt a tightness in the chin area; it looked drawn and had some weird fine lines suddenly appear. Will try it again later. 🤞🏼

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  4 місяці тому

      @@c.9914 What are you typically removing from the skin? Just moisturizer, or sunscreen and makeup as well? Usually, double cleansing involves using an oil or balm cleanser as the first step and then a water-based cleanser suitable for your skin type. However, have you tried using LRP cleanser on its own, without following with CeraVe Cleanser afterwards?

    • @c.9914
      @c.9914 4 місяці тому +1

      @@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Hi, sorry, I meant I went back to my Olay moisturizing lotion with SPF after trying the CeraVe a.m. lotion, not their cleanser. The LRP I have is the hydrating gentle cleanser.
      I'm usually just wearing an SPF lotion (at most with a highlighter in various forms or a cream eyeshadow like Tom Ford) and was using micellar water first before my old foaming cleanser. I used wipes for a while as that seemed to suit me better than an oil cleanser, though I have a Clinique balm somewhere. 🙈
      If I'm using squalane oil I use the micellar water and The Ordinary's squalane cleanser.
      I haven't tried the LRP again yet since; will do so tomorrow.

      @@c.9914 Okay, but why aren't you going back to what you used to do/use, like using your wipes or trying makeup remover washcloths (those are reusable)? It's also what I've used in the short (in all my videos), along with your Olay moisturizer with SPF and highlighter during the daytime.
