As a person of color, La Roche Posay Double Repair face moisturizer works great for me. Dr. V is educated in her field, but she definitely isn't the only qualified Dr. out here who's reputable & knowledgeable. She trashes this company but I wouldn't aim to throw out everything I ever bought from the company based on this video. Every dermatologist is different and so is every person and their skin type. Genetics and what you eat definitely plays a part as well. There is no perfect product, and truthfully a lot of products work for some and not others. There isn't a gospel truth skincare product that's one size fits all. We find what is best for ourselves and stick with it. If you trust your Dr. & are getting good results, then by all means don't abandon it. Unless there is harmful evidence or health concerns with what you're using, I wouldn't put all my eggs in 1 basket based on what 1 dermatologist says amongst the millions that exist on planet earth. I'm pretty Dr. V believes her skincare line is flaw free, which would be false. There are definitely other Dr's. out here who would find faults with her products too. We live in a democracy and opinions vary. Do your research and whatever you choose, do so wisely.

Dr v isn’t here to make you bin all of your products. She’s not gaining anything from that. Her videos aren’t sponsored so she isn’t trying to influence you. She’s basically giving important information about how companies are formulating their products, false advertisement and just trying to educate the nation.
The reason I trust dr v is because she is all about the ingredients. What you should use and what to avoid. I’ve tried her whole skincare line and I only like 1/3 of the products. Some of them didn’t work for me. But based on what I know about ingredients I was able to find products that really work for me and that have transformed my skin.

@@leonab545 not really. I only brought her products because I was intrigued and some of her products are amazing. Others not so much. No one is forced to buy her products. It’s just trial and error with everything skin related. But at least she’s doing something productive like educating people who have zero clue about ingredients and catching companies out with their false advertisement.

I had suffered from acne due to using the wrong skincare for almost 5 years. I’m 27 this year. It was really a terrible phase & a lot of visit to the derm. I also became very particular of what I put on my skin and went through the ingredients very specific as I’m afraid the wrong ingredients would affect my skin. It was a lot of trial and error, and I was really sceptical to use LRP products at first but lo and behold the effaclar range works best for my skin. I’m finally acne free for a year now and I strongly believed what works for everyone skin is different. Skincare is a personal journey for me.

Firstly I love how honest she is about products and I love how she isn’t sponsored but I honestly don’t see anything wrong with La Roche Posay I mean I have acne prone skin which is oily and what I have done is I have started to use Garnier charcoal Face wash that has sacylic Acid as an ingredient after that I go in with make up that has Sacylic acid like I use to use the Elf medicated Foundation that worked wonders for my skin and I found that it has cleared my skin up beautifully…. I just think of you are going to use something like La Roche Posay than make sure you actually do steps before applying that moisturiser to your face….. I wanna try it cause my skin is not bad anymore and I don’t get break outs on my face as bad as I did now only on my back though so I’m gonna try that product and let you all know how it goes…

I mean, if we read the labels everything sounds bad, or better than it is.
It's like any other product out there, it WILL have something that might harm a number of people, but there's also going to be a huge number of people who won't experience any issues with it. There's a reason why every product specifies that people should discontinue its use IF there is an allergic reaction, rash, pain, etc. Also there's a reason why we have products for sensible skins and others that some people can use with no problems even though are not recommended for sensible skin.
I do have the Effaclar DUO + and it simply does nothing bad to me, I just followed the instructions that my dermatologist gave me and used it for the specified time.
Also, when it comes to the fragrance it's close to non, you can tell there is a weird smell to it, but you need to have it right under your nostrils to barely be able to smell it.
Like I said, of course it might cause some irritation to some people, but there will be many others that won't have any side effects, EVERYTHING has potential for side effects. There is no such thing as a skin product or medication that may not have the potential for side effects. It's just impossible
But hey, my skin is not dark, so maybe it has something to do with that, idk, since this video is directed for dark skin types

I was using the LRP Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel every night, but didn't see great improvements on my skin. Wasn't sure if I just needed to wait it out for results. So before buying another one, I've been hoping that you would review them so that I could make sure that I'm not wasting my money and here we have it! Right on time 😁 Thank you Dr.V. Looks like I'll be getting a different cleanser now.

I think you are looking at their older brand.. and this is just one line .. so you can't make this judgment on their entire line .. and you need to look into their most recent newly improved products .. but I still appreciate this video so I know what to look out for in products
Yes that would be a good idea..other doctors would love that ..

I think you are well trained to educate doctors on this topic because you have the both hat, the formulator and doctor. But again doctor should have at least an external non sponsored organization who inform them of the latest discovery in formulation.

Now I know more about their moisturiser that is targeted towards acne prone skin, I think I may have to stop using it. It also wasn't working for my brothers teenage acne.
But the La Roche Posay body care line is great. The products targeted to dry and ezema prone skin work great for my dry and ezema prone skin.

I think the reasons that La Roche-Posay does so well especially in Western European countries are the fancy name and the “clinical” look packaging. Thank you Dr. V for you review. Much appreciated!

Dr V makes a point: if the claim is doctors (or product users recommend) a product. Find out how many and under what conditions they approved or favoured the product. And how long ago, because the product formula can change and not necessarily for the good. Dr V is teaching us to be better consumers. La Roche Posay is not a cheap brand so now we know to be wary of their claims and doctors' recommendation. Bring out your phone in the Dr's office and go through ingredients together for otc skincare they recommend. You might teach them something.

Thank you for being our Derma Defender !!! It is really concerning that beyond the expertise and advise we seek and receive from you, it seems far too easy to fall into the traps of marketing. It is incomprehensible that those who we look to for aid (doctors) are also misguided and led to believe that certain brands and products are beneficial. I remember when I gave birth to my children in a hospital in America (I’m English) the labor and delivery ward wanted to bathe them soon after birth using Johnson’s baby products … known to contain all kinds of awful ingredients, including ones that have been said to cause cancer 😢

But in another vídeo you talked about not mixing those ingredients. Só o asked witch of the advice we should have followed since i was already applying the first advice and it realy irritated my skin.
