They really are the best characters. Rebels and CW is the best star wars content (ill throw in Andor too) but this is looking to be right up there too.
It was a really nice touch having Clancy Brown reprise his role as Ryder Azadi. It really was a good decision and it adds credence to this show's connection to Rebels. I would like to see more voice actors given the opportunity to portray their characters on live screen in Star Wars. Next up... Thrawn!
These first 2 episodes of Ahsoka were great! The costumes, sets, performances, and visual effects were all awesome, but I especially loved the music! The music is nailing the Star Wars adventure tone so far. Absolutely loving it!
There were people complaining about the aesthetics of the show how the colors looked off and they were complaining before the show came out. I thought the show looked visually stunning It looked movie quality . What's good about this show We are basically getting two shows in one, We are getting Ahsoka and Rebels season 5 all together.
It looked better than pretty much any of the movies except Rogue One, they killed it in production quality. Hope it doesn’t fall off after the first 2 episodes
People complain some costumes and interiors look too clean.. wich makes some sense since the New Republic is the legit goberment now.. not a rag tag group of Rebels hiding and barely living.. they have now the (well not quite but) resources of the empire so their ships and uniforms have no reason to look worn out or dirty..
looks like Lars Mikkelsen is not the only Rebels character transitioning from animation to live action... nice to see Clancy Brown reprising his role as Ryder Azadi
The senator of Lothal is also A Rebels character: Jai Kell, who was one of kids that Ezra met in the imperial academy and then joined the Lothal resistance.
You can tell how excited people are about a show by how quickly the reaction videos start showing up on UA-cam. I expected to see this on your channel today, but not nearly so early. Wow.
I didn't realize right away when I watched the episodes just how big Ray Stevenson is. He's a big physical presence, and that really helps sell his character. But the fact that he's also patient and thoughtful makes him especially intriguing. I'm super excited for the rest of this series.
Everyone loves their favorite animated characters but honestly seeing Diana Lee Inosanto (Morgan Elsbeth) is probably the biggest thing of this show to me. Hopefully she will be involved in some of the fight scenes but I am sure she helped out with the stuntpeople in designing and training for the fights. I know she helped Rosario Dawson with training for Ahsoka and the fight scene in Mandalorian but she is honestly martial arts royalty and a stunt woman below none. Man Diana Lee Inosanto!!!!
So, I was stunned during the first half of this show, actually all the way through, but during the first half it was the little mannerisms of how she moved and looked at things. It literally felt like the CGI character just stepping into reality. Rosario Dawson absolutely nailed it and I love her for it. Also the little bits of lore shout outs here and there are fantastic. The fact the New Republic is shown using E-Wings just makes me trust Dave Filoni even more. It seems like he's finally starting to play in the Era that he wanted to, and is saving Star Wars for it.
Anyone else get really strong Star Trek vibes from that scene on the bridge at the start? Even the beginning of the meeting in the shuttle bay to some extent. It felt like a homage of sorts, I thought it was neat.
@@funnylilgalreacts You're very welcome! I appreciate your hard work and dedication. Your points of view I relate to. I'm working on a video myself.. LOL.. Egad!!
The great thing about the Star Wars universe are the many healing methods. Bacta tanks, mods, the force, etc. In the Star Wars books, religious groups found force-sensitive people(& kids) and use them for witches and druids. It was never part of the main plot lines but it was in the background
Having barely watched Clone Wars and NEVER watched Rebels, I was pleasantly suprised by how easy it was to follow and how emotionally hitting it was. Solid start
Same, apart from "tales of the jedi" I've watched no more than maybe one episode of the other animated shows yet didn't feel at all lost watching the 1st 2 eps. My biggest 'gasp' moment was when Hera dropped the bomb that Sabine was a Mandalorian (which would presumably be no big deal for viewers familiar with the animated shows. So in some ways it's a fun experience coming to the show 'cold'.)
Loved the first episode, and of course your reaction was the first i had to watch. I love your passion and emotions you have for Rebels and Ahsoka, keep up the great work! Now I am on to watch your reaction for episode 2.....
Never saw rebels or clone wars.. I think this show is absolutely fantastic.. I feel like Star Wars is making a big comeback with this show. Not knowing any background.. I’m totally invested in each character. The production value in this show is insane .. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
The reaction I was waiting for! edit: that deep breath at 7:44 is a whole mood edit x2: @ 30:15 she leaves because shes a completely broken person psychologically after everything she's been thru OR It's likely because she didnt want Sabine to get hurt or killed. Or maybe its as simple as Sabine wasnt ready for the harsh reality of training
Great reaction like always great opening of the series such good trowbacks from rebels god im hyped, I liked seeing Clancy Brown as Rider. It's funny because they designed the cartoon character after him in real life and he voiced the character in Rebels. And its probably the best thing Disney has done yet. The nitty gritty detail to this show is INSANE. The holograms just look so authentic, the costumes are perfect. THE EYE OF SION?????? A KOTOR REFERENCE BABY LETS GOOOOOOOO, Feloni never disappoints. Keep up the amazing work.
You're my favorite reaction channel! I love your train of thought monologues in the beginning of each video. For me, they are maybe the most enjoyable part of the reaction. Maybe it's because I relate to a lot of what you're saying and where it's coming from. Dunno about you, but when I watch the reaction videos, I bawl my eye's out even though I know what happens... Weird, right? I also enjoyed watching your channel evolve.. My own is new, and I find myself doing the same kind of little tweaks and stuff! LOL
As a first-timer to anything Rebels, this was a nice start. I'm enjoying the look of the characters, I like seeing Ahsoka in action, I like the tone of the show and I'm digging the music. The story is going to be an intriguing one, for sure. I'm really interested in seeing how this series, possibly, sets up the Dave Filoni Mandoverse movie. Also, Godspeed, Ray Stevenson. May the Force be with him and his family.
Relax, ' it's just a flesh wound! Tis but a scratch even'. 🤣 Love how energized you are about this series. Then again your reaction videos are always fun.

Dave Filoni and his love of wolves. Baylen Skoll and shin Hati. Skoll and Hati were two wolves in Norse mythology. Chasing the sun and moon across the sky in a never ending race. And in other mythology's marrok is created into a wolf by a witch named Morgan
The Bendu was on Atollon from what I remember. It was where they had the base with the spiders, iirc. LOVE your love for Star Wars Angela, keep being you. 🙂
@@funnylilgalreacts you never know with Dave, he loves *out there* SW stuff so he might bring him back! either way, very much looking forward to all that's in front of us. 👍
There's a very niche Italian and French fencing style that involves using a rapier or knife paired with a cape or cloak, using fancy movements with the cloak to distract an opponent for a killing blow. Hati's style reminds me of that; she was flipping her cloak in Sabine's face a few times during that fight to hide her movements.
And we're off!! So excited for this show, live-action Rebels is worth the 'price if admission'. I can't wait to see Sabine and Ahsoka's backstory as Master and Apprentice.
Overall liked the first episode. For the ruin/map mistery i love how some Sherlock Holmes show clues, pieces of puzzle aittle more, making me viewer realise how complex the puzzle or for regular eye those clues don't connect. The biggest missed opportunity was the first scene with Siths. Imagine guards with weapons ready to use, 2 behind them, one tosses a grenade, a forcefield activities, and an automatic gun pops down from the ceiling. Yet the Siths decimate them. Making the guards incompetent made Sith impression less powerful. All in all i loved what i saw, and felt heart in it. Thanks for the reaction, loved it as always. Can't wait to see the next ones.
People talking shit on the Shin vs Sabine-fight does not seem to realize that Sabine actually held her own for a while there. Shin does not seem to be one that just "toys" with you if she is on a mission so I feel like Sabine did pretty well for someone that seem to have not held a lightsaber in years. So excited to see how this evolves! Also, a Jedi-Mandalorian could be a pretty darn good ruler of Mandalore I think. Based on the whole Darksaber-history.
Also, if Shin wanted her dead, she would be dead. That wound wasn’t a killing wound. I think she was really just trying to see what Sabine had the offer. She might not have run into any other “Jedi” at this point. Shin has this habit of really pausing and reflecting. I don’t think she’s a dark/evil force user at all. She’s literally in between Jedi and Sith, which is balanced.
I have to agree with you. To me, it felt less like 'toying" and more like "probing" . I feel like she was holding back, watching. Shin strikes carefully, she's TRYING to be precise. Which makes sense; Baylan's fighting style seems to crisp and precise. (You know he knows ALL the forms) I think the only reason Shin didn't behead Sabine was because Ashoka showed up and Shin had a mission.
@@funnylilgalreactsyeah, I feel like she has much to deal with in her own past and could go very dark soon. maybe because of not agreeing with her masters decisions for example. but this is Filoni.. she might become friends with Ahsoka and go with her (if Baylan passes away in the show.) EXCITING TIMES!
I love the line, "Sometimes even the right reasons have the wrong consequences." She's basically both owning up to the fact that she failed Sabine as a Jedi Master, and also contributing to Anakin's fall to the Dark Side. I really look forward to seeing how Hayden Christiansen plays into this series, particularly since the theme of Masters and Apprentices is so prevalent.
Well, I still think that Anakin is responsible for his own downfall. But I know she feels like she may have been able to stop it. But I don’t think she would’ve been able to.
@@funnylilgalreacts Oh, absolutely Anakin is responsible -- but there are so many factors contributing to his decision, and Ahsoka walking away from the Order and the Council's treatment of her during that whole debacle was certainly one of the things that caused him to lose faith in the Jedi and an organization, and the Jedi Council in particular. And all engineered by Palpatine... And, like you say, and as I'm sure we'll see even further in this show, Ahsoka clearly thinks she could have prevented him from doing so... Obi-Wan tried and failed to bring him back, she tried and failed to bring him back, and it took the love and faith of his son that finally did. I sure hope the show explores this more.
Asoka (also lovingly known as Rebels Season 5) is off to a strong start, but your editor fixed for me it's biggest flaw: dialog pacing. When the characters speak, there's a 2-3 second gap before the next line is spoken. It's as if the show's editor added three seconds to make sure dialog was not clipped when cutting the clips together. Your editor removed those gaps, improving the dialog pacing and the flow of the show. Your editing team made the show perfect!
I think I was even more excited to watch your reactions than I was to watch the show myself 😅 And I wasn't disappointed, so fun to see your happiness :)
lol the moment they show the star map i was like Treasure Planet [animated version from 2002] also episode one for ahsoka is strong can't wait to see more episodes....
P.S. Great reaction so far! Its so nice to see how committed they are in bringing Rebels characters to life... even Jai Kell (Ezra's buddy from the Imperial Academy) is back as a Senator from Lothal :')
Im really glad they brought back Kevin Kiner for this. He did such an amazing job scoring Rebels. And whenever they would play a little version of Ezra's, Sabine's theme in this episode i instantly got chills. This series already feels like a Dave Filoni led production. Even the cinematic shots look like they were ripped straight from Clone Wars. Dave Filoni always loves his beautiful cinematic shots!
So, one thing I don't fully follow.... why would an artifact from an ancient, presumably thousand year old temple hold the location of a missing Imperial admiral who only disappeared at most a few years ago?
not going to watch your reaction on part 1 & 2 ... yet :) have to watch those parts myself this evening, after that i will view the remaining of your videos. kudos !!
I like to think that Dave Filoni started with the Mandalorian and wrote in Ahsoka so we could finally get Rebels Season 5. As soon as Ahsoka showed up in the Mandalorian, I was like, "Cool, when do we get the Ahsoka series?" and it's finally happened.
There's a lot I like so far. I think the actor choice is very good. Naturally Rosario Dawson is perfect, Ray Stevenson is also perfect and surprisingly David Tenant is great as the sidekick Huyang. I love your reaction videos, it's all you, I love that.
Great reaction Angela! Ahsoka is also my very favorite Star Wars character! Im wilth you on all the nostalgia! There are so many little easter eggs in this one! The painting on the wall of the Rebels got to me! Ahsoka talking about when she left her Master.....😭 In Dave Filoni I trust!
really liking your reactions. keep on going ! And, the final 'titling' with the music and graphics does kindof bring remembrance to the 'games of thrones' series; wondering if the same crew worked on both.
Sabine having force abilities…. I have a small theory on this. Given that she is Mandalorian, and they were kind of separate from the republic, she would have never been screened by Jedi for that ability. Add the fact that Mandalorians mostly had negative views of the force (considering it as magic), and being a longtime enemy to Jedi, either by choice or forced by family she repressed the ability. Without training to use it at a young age, and repressing the ability, it would be harder for her to develop the skill to use the force. There are some moments where she does something that borders on use of the force. The speeder bike scene early on is something that could have had some force intervention.
I have not seen Star Wars Rebels series but I enjoyed the first 2 episodes of this show. I like how they took time to show tiny little emotions between each other before proceeding to the next scenes. Knowing when to cut is the key because it's either you were able to show the emotions just enough or it's only gonna drag the show wrongly. The dialogues though can be improved.
I know that everybody has a "wish list" of things, situations and characters that they want to see in this show......but for me, I could die a happy Sith if we get an appearance by Hondo and Barriss. I pray to God that the inquisitor we see turns out to be Barriss. With Filoni.....? Who knows. Anything is possible when he's involved. Great vid as usual!
I like how Ahsoka still struggles with her own past decisions. She was never perfect, she made mistakes during the Clone Wars and learned some harsh lessons. Her walking away from the Jedi was the right thing, but from the exchange here, it just seemed that perhaps it weighs heavily on her on what could have been if she had stayed with the Jedi Order. Would Anakin's fate be different? Would things have worked out the same for Bo-Katan, The Mandalorians, or Darth Maul if Ahsoka had not been free of the Jedi Order to ally with Bo-Katan? Ahsoka is so important to me because she represents wisdom. We have seen her grow from a brash young padawan to an experienced leader, confident in her skills and tempered in her actions. Yet still capable of recognizing the consequences of the choices she has made. She and Rex have to be my favorite Star Wars stories and I very much would love to see Rex. As far as I am concerned that was Rex on Endor as one of the commandos in Return of the Jedi.
I have something in common with Huyang. At 54 years old, I too am about 75% original parts.
ditto... down to the age.
As I get older, I'm 110% original parts.
We can rebuild him. Stronger. And faster.

Your editor removed those gaps, improving the dialog pacing and the flow of the show.
Your editing team made the show perfect!
I think I was even more excited to watch your reactions than I was to watch the show myself 😅 And I wasn't disappointed, so fun to see your happiness :)
I swear...the music in Star Wars never disappoints.
Sabine's hair should get its own spin-off series
Awww Ashoka is my fave too =)
I love these characters. Big Rebels fan and this made my night when I watched ep 1 & 2.
The New Republic prisoner transport system needs some serious security improvements. :D
We're off to a strong start. Baylon and Shinn are Very intriguing. Can't wait for the next one
Shin not killing Sabine… I see a conflicted force user and I’m excited for it!
RIP Ray Stevenson (May 25, 1964 - May 21, 2023), aged 58
Gone but not forgotten.
lol the moment they show the star map i was like Treasure Planet [animated version from 2002] also episode one for ahsoka is strong can't wait to see more episodes....
I loved the first two episodes and cannot wait to see more.
Oooh I know there's gonna be some tears on this one.... xD
P.S. Great reaction so far! Its so nice to see how committed they are in bringing Rebels characters to life... even Jai Kell (Ezra's buddy from the Imperial Academy) is back as a Senator from Lothal :')
I never had any doubt Sabine would live with a Loth Cat. She's kind of a cat herself.
Never was a fan of the animated series, but watching your reaction to unfamiliar characters make for a better show.
Lol, “our favorite war criminal.”
You know I am surprised that they just didn't call this rebels. Because to me it seems like a rebels continuation
I wonder how well it will be received by those that never watched Rebels or Clone Wars. So much is built upon those two shows.
So, one thing I don't fully follow.... why would an artifact from an ancient, presumably thousand year old temple hold the location of a missing Imperial admiral who only disappeared at most a few years ago?
The way I figure it is that it is a map to wherever the Purgils are not necessarily Thrawn. But they’re most likely in the same place.
@@funnylilgalreacts Ah! That makes so much more sense. Thanks!! 😁😁
The cat is animatronic with a bunch of puppeteers. I suppose there might be one or two times it’s CGI.
"How big of a boom will it be?"
Beeeeeeeeeeg Bada Boom!
Multipass
You are def becoming my favorite reaction channel
not going to watch your reaction on part 1 & 2 ... yet :) have to watch those parts myself this evening, after that i will view the remaining of your videos.
I think he would do anything to write more Ahsoka stories. It was a smart thing to do ☺️
You just know the girlies are going to get that Sabine hair after this 😛
There's a lot I like so far.
Ahsoka talking about when she left her Master.....😭
In Dave Filoni I trust!
really liking your reactions. keep on going !
The witches of Dathomir. That was a surprise on her back story. I wonder if she will name drop Maul. :)
I don’t think we’ll even see Ezra in the flesh this season! As for Kanaan I’m pretty sure Freddy prince said he was done with Kanaan.
