"this is the Star Wars I fucking love" hit so hard. I enjoy most star wars, including episodes 7 and 9, but there's something really special about this show in particular
Huyang is a perfect example of a star wars droid done right. He's not just there, but actually around for droid stuff he can do, he's informative and good comic relief, of course being voiced by Tennant also doesn't hurt, perfect. As a sidenote, when they mention Zatochi during the saber training, I think they're referencing and paying homage to Zatoichi, a fictional blind swordsman from a Japanese film series.
As a Dr Who superfan, hearing David Tennant saying things like "Jedi" and "lightsaber" and "pergil" just warms my heart. I love that he's a nerd just like all of us fans. Thanks for the reaction and being awesome!
I don't know if you know this, but Huyang is a very, very old droid. Supposedly he was built in 25,020 BBY! However, there's a lot of speculation about his true origins. One group of younglings about to head out for the Gathering ceremony during the clone wars (in the Brotherhood book) told a story that Huyang had mysteriously showed up at the Jedi Temple in a large blue box. Sound familiar?
I'm glad that we are seeing so much of Anakin's training appear in how Ahsoka flies her starship and acts so extra by going outside the ship to fight the "Totally not Zeros in Space" starfighters. It is just a nice touch.

I'm telling you.. Those Ahsoka episodes, they make me feel like a kid again. Like i'm in love with what Dave Filoni is doing right now. The music, the plot, characters development. Everything. I love it. And the Kiner(s) are killing it with the music. Huyang's training with Sabine with the background music and Ahsoka watching them was like watching Tales Of The Jedi again. When Anakin watched Ahsoka train with Tera Sinube, then with Rex and the 501st. Ahsoka saying " Let's go again " like Anakin when Ahsoka kept passing out during that training. Like... i'm in love with the callbacks. For me, Ahsoka as a character is at a state now where she's trying to be like Anakin, strong mentally even tho she may be conflicted inside, sometimes breaking rules etc etc... I think that's the vision that Dave Filoni is trying to show with this show. So for me, when I see Ahsoka now, I see her personality from her past, her struggles and Anakin's personality.
Been saying if people don’t like this show, then they’re probably not a Star Wars fan. I’ve seen people recently say that this show is horrible and not everything needs lightsabers and space battles. That’s literally what Star Wars is all about.
Yeah, I love how the characters are natural, and Ahsoka is calculating, and stiff, but still caring. She's still dealing with trauma. The self-realization of how she was acting was so smooth. Sabine's frustration, the music, Huyang having that C3P0 sort of dialogue flavor to him. There's just so much that feels epic, and adventurous, and full of mystery and intrigue. By far this one of the best of the side series shows in the great Star Wars epic. It really lets the characters be themselves, and lets the actors help create that image of those characters.
And don’t forget Plo Koon he’s crucial! He was Baylon’s Master. So there’s a deeper connection between Baylon and Ahsoka through Master Plo….who also fought outside of his ship…2 save his clone troopers in Clone Wars… #deepconnections
Hyperdrive rings are basically a booster you attach to to make your jump and detach when you arrive, leaving it in space while you do your business. I'll see you on the next one!
Sabine trying to use the Force reminded me of all those times as a kid I had to check to see if I had telekinesis 😂 strain harder, maybe it's just dormant 😅
That episode delivered the goods... it wasn't just amazing, it was amazingly amazing! Seriously, from beginning to end nothing but satisfaction and warm fuzzies. This was the right stuff!
Every time I see Rey Stevenson on screen I'm just gutted. He was such a great actor. And he just comes off so cool in this Baylan Skoll role. I also loved him in The Punisher and Book Of Eli. But I'm happy to be back watching some Star Wars with ya :)
Ahsoka's spacewalk was done so much better than Leia's. This made me happy. I agree with you on Baylon. His quiet brooding is more intimidating than the toddler like outbursts of Kylo Ren. A Chopper focused episode would up the body count, for sure.😂 Jacen is so adorable. My mom heart burst when he said he wanted to be a Jedi.
Some great moments in this episode Baylan standing there all menacing, looking like Stannis. Sweet! Great bad guy. Give me 35 minutes of Ahsoka training Sabine in the ways of the force please. Felt like we were back on Dagobah and i was 100% into it. Ahsoka sees potential so it just be there. The Pergill looked Fantastic Mon Mothma fought so hard against dictatorship. Ironic that the galaxy needs her to be the new dictator. Short sighted greedy politicians make the first order possible
Now that we've seen the purrgil, I wonder if we'll eventually get to see a flashback of Thrawn and Ezra getting dragged away by them during the Battle of Lothal, from their perspective.
I love this stoic, supremely wise Ahsoka that some online seem to have a problem with. You know, we’ve watched a little girl go from Padawan to Jedi Knight to a Master Force Welder - from a young lady to grown woman. We should expect this two-time war veteran to be different from those experiences and I’m loving it.
She's been through a lot. I loved that she was excited about the whales and those smirks between her and Sabine. I think they are both acting appropriately for what they've been through and what they are going to face.
Easily 11/10. This one episode did so much for Star wars than most of the content we've been given over the years. Between the writing, visuals, directing, acting and music it was just a perfect balance. It wasn't flashy but it gave so much more in return and reintroduced old ideas that made us all fall in love with the series in the first place.
the scene with Jacen was heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. You can tell Hera doesnt want Jacen to have the same fate as his father. =( And man, that scene gives me chills/goosebumps everytime!
This was an absolute blast of an ep, despite the shorter runtime! Space shit, yeah! Seeing Jacen was heartbreaking, but knowing that he's been partially raised by 'big brother' Chopper makes me worried...
Sabines Padawan journey reminds me of my ADHD-issues. Trying to be the best in a field you are learning about because you feel some kind of pressure to be better than others to keep up with them. Her wanting to be good enough to help Ezra and speeding up training is relatable. I do believe that she will find "her way of the force" kind of. Maybe she gets like a spidey-sense more than moving objects.
Hello hello I just saw this episode an hour ago now I'm very happy to see your reaction to this episode of Ahsoka❤ she was so awesome fighting in space.
Great to see Mon Mothma. Painfully ironic though to see her scene with Hera and the Senators mirror Dedra's scene in "Andor" where she's trying to convince her superiors of a growing threat and being ignored. I was hoping Mothma would lend Hera a little "off the books" help - that's right in her wheelhouse. (I'm hopeful she still might)

The ring reminds me of a larger version of the one we see on Obi-Wan's fighter from the prequel trilogy that he would detach after coming out of hyoerspace.
Glad your are enjoying the series, great fun watching you react to movies and shows and is why I subscribed to channel. I think you should have some merc. Maybe a coffee mug or t-shirt with 'I LOVE SPACE SH*T!' on it! You can grow it from there.
Great reaction vid, of course i always watch yours first. Amazing episode, loved your recap, and cant wait to see next weeks.... hate we have to wait, but so worth it.....
I wish they gave Kanan a small mention during the training session on Ahsoka's ship since it was Kanan who trained sabine in season 3 episode of rebels trials of the dark sabre which i think is the best episode of rebels
Absolutely love how much you get into this!!! Keep up the great work. It's Star Wars amazing LOL!!! So many story lines erupted from this one!! So many questions. Ok subbed for the ride LOL.
Huyang was also in an episode or two of Clone Wars, that's where I knew him from. The episode where Ahsoka took younglings to Illum to find their Kyber Crystals and build their lightsabers, was quite kid-friendly but still interesting.
Even though it was only 30-plus minutes, this episode packed a lot of heat. It was great seeing development with Sabine as a potential Force user, the sequence involving Hera and the Senate being tense (nice seeing Jacen Syndulla for the first time) and that space battle looked quite cool. Obviously, I wish there was more runtime, but, alas, beggars can't be choosers. Excited for next week's episode!
Also, if you watch the pre-quels (the third I'm sure has this at least.) they have hyperspace rings for "regular" ships without the capability to travel through hyperspace. They dock into the ring so it becomes a part of/with the ship and then you can un-dock aswell when you are at your destination. I assume this ring is like this but for a large goddamn Star-Destroyer and to travel MUCH further in a short amount of time.
@@funnylilgalreactsI think it could be a good excuse for why Ahsoka and the gang were "missing" or not in the larger films during the sequels. Either lack of fuel or maybe stuff breaking. Would not be surprised if the shot of Thrawn in the trailers is him but in that other galaxy. Not sure he ever made it back to the "regular" one. EXCITING indeed
Bloody hell you are LOVING this series :) I love your enthusiasm! But yes, I feel like i'm watching a new season of Rebels :) I love it too. And damnit, now I want to rewatch all clone wars and rebels...(actually the whole series again)
Great reaction, like always this show is getting better and better Filoni did a great job, watching the callbacks and references are so good, and the music score is on point, i have a theory about who Marrok could be the best one is that he is a Darth Vader's secret apprentice - a canon version of Starkiller. Other people say that he could be Ezra himself. Lets wait to see, Keep up the amazing work.
Your infectious enthusiasm for "space shit" makes me so happy :D The original movie (well, the X-wing) is the reason I joined the Air Force to be a pilot.
Its bad ass what is being done now from the animated series to live action. I hope there is more seasons because there is so much development that can be done for so many characters.
Seeing how you enjoy david tennant as Hu yang i recomend GOOD OMENS he is great as the demon crowley and the quemistry that has with his co-star Michael Sheen it wonderfull
The Senator Xiono who was part of the council with Mon Mothma, is connected too the animated show Star Wars Resistance (which takes place 6 months before the Force Awakens) has Xiono's son Kaz Xiono, join the new republic (probably because his father is such a DICK) as he joins forces with Poe Dameron. its a nice connection to the animated show that was not as strong as say the clone wars or rebels!!
I don't know if anyone has said this yet about the hyperspace ring yet or not. In Star Wars episode 2 Attack of the Clones, Obi wan Kenobi actually used a Hyperspace Ring. It was a lot smaller, of course, than the big one in this show but it's there.
You see Obi-Wan use a hyperspace ring when he goes to Kamino and Geonosis in attack of the clones. This one is scaled up so that they can bring back Thrawn’s star destroyer.
When Sabine yelled "I got one!", I swear I could hear Ahsoka say " Great kid, don't get cocky."

I think I really just need to watch Rebels.
Thank you, Angela! I love your enthusiasm. I've been waiting for your reaction. When I watched the episode this evening, and they were doing all the space $#!+, I said it out loud: "I love space $#!+!" (I never used to say that before you. Thank you.)
As for Star Wars... I've been watching, oh since before you were born. OG, that's me. The hyperspace ring: that's how Obi Wan and the Jedi used to go here and there with their little space ships. They'd hop around the system, attach to the ring, jump to wherever, detach from the ring, and hop around some more.
I'm looking forward to wherever this show will take us!
Thank you for the watch. I'll see you on the next one!
Sabine trying to use the Force reminded me of all those times as a kid I had to check to see if I had telekinesis 😂 strain harder, maybe it's just dormant 😅
Soon.
💯 I still do that. I also do what I call time crunching.
That episode delivered the goods... it wasn't just amazing, it was amazingly amazing! Seriously, from beginning to end nothing but satisfaction and warm fuzzies. This was the right stuff!
I always enjoy it when you say you love Space Shit!! Warms my heart!! Hahahh 🤣🤣🤣
THIS WAS FINE SPACE SHIT.
Every time I see Rey Stevenson on screen I'm just gutted. He was such a great actor. And he just comes off so cool in this Baylan Skoll role. I also loved him in The Punisher and Book Of Eli. But I'm happy to be back watching some Star Wars with ya :)
He also played a pretty good villain in Dexter.
His work in Rome as Titus Pullo is still my favorite!
Ahsoka's spacewalk was done so much better than Leia's. This made me happy.
I agree with you on Baylon. His quiet brooding is more intimidating than the toddler like outbursts of Kylo Ren.
A Chopper focused episode would up the body count, for sure.😂
Jacen is so adorable. My mom heart burst when he said he wanted to be a Jedi.
Some great moments in this episode
Baylan standing there all menacing, looking like Stannis. Sweet! Great bad guy.
Give me 35 minutes of Ahsoka training Sabine in the ways of the force please. Felt like we were back on Dagobah and i was 100% into it. Ahsoka sees potential so it just be there.
The Pergill looked Fantastic
Mon Mothma fought so hard against dictatorship. Ironic that the galaxy needs her to be the new dictator. Short sighted greedy politicians make the first order possible
15:16 I had the same thought about Silence of the Lambs in that moment. Lol
So, Baylan's padawan is named Shin Hati. Or, as the internet has been calling her.... Shin Hottie. 😂😂
I meant the actresses name but yes, I indeed think Shin Hottie fits
Just nice to hear you speak passionately about any subject. May all YT reactors be well.
Now that we've seen the purrgil, I wonder if we'll eventually get to see a flashback of Thrawn and Ezra getting dragged away by them during the Battle of Lothal, from their perspective.
Shin Hatti looks soooo much like the singer Aurora!!!!!!!!! Even her weird movements and expressions!!!!! 🎼I am Warrior🎤🎶Warrior🎵🎶Warrior!
And man, that scene gives me chills/goosebumps everytime!
This was an absolute blast of an ep, despite the shorter runtime! Space shit, yeah! Seeing Jacen was heartbreaking, but knowing that he's been partially raised by 'big brother' Chopper makes me worried...
Chopper is… not the best role model
Sabines Padawan journey reminds me of my ADHD-issues. Trying to be the best in a field you are learning about because you feel some kind of pressure to be better than others to keep up with them. Her wanting to be good enough to help Ezra and speeding up training is relatable. I do believe that she will find "her way of the force" kind of. Maybe she gets like a spidey-sense more than moving objects.
Hello hello I just saw this episode an hour ago now I'm very happy to see your reaction to this episode of Ahsoka❤ she was so awesome fighting in space.
Looking forward to Sabine's "awakening" moment.
Even nine days later, it still is amazing. 😄
(I'm hopeful she still might)
Si sad they reduced mon mothma to a pushover character with no real power 😢
Pushover? Definitely not a pushover
@@funnylilgalreacts I more read it as her being pragmatic. Which is true to form
I loved this review! The passion just "oozes" from every aspect that you presented. I'm so ready to catch episode #4 w/ you!!!
Oh yeah, have you managed to stay dry over the past couple of weeks with all the rain?
Thank you for sharing this ride w/ us... :-) .
M-
The ring reminds me of a larger version of the one we see on Obi-Wan's fighter from the prequel trilogy that he would detach after coming out of hyoerspace.
Agree this was awesome! I'm loving this series
Glad your are enjoying the series, great fun watching you react to movies and shows and is why I subscribed to channel. I think you should have some merc. Maybe a coffee mug or t-shirt with 'I LOVE SPACE SH*T!' on it! You can grow it from there.
I just got a prototype in the mail today! They’ll be available soon
Huyang is officially the most obnoxious droid in the Star Wars universe, he makes C-3PO seem pleasant
Zatochi has to be a reference to Zatoichi, the blind swordsman.
who is also the inspiration for chirrut, the blind monk from Rogue One
Great reaction vid, of course i always watch yours first. Amazing episode, loved your recap, and cant wait to see next weeks.... hate we have to wait, but so worth it.....
Fun to watch your delight.
I was surprised that Hera didn’t mention the Seven Giant Hyper drives and that they should go look for the hyperdrives and the ship they go to.
Pergil amazing.
Angela amazing.
Natasha amazing.
Angela amazing.
Ivanna amazing.
Angela amazing.
Hmmm, I sense a trend here ... 😎😎😎
It’s pretty AMAZING!
I wish they gave Kanan a small mention during the training session on Ahsoka's ship since it was Kanan who trained sabine in season 3 episode of rebels trials of the dark sabre which i think is the best episode of rebels
Right? You'd think it would come up that Sabine was initially trained in the lightsaber by a blind Jedi.
Absolutely love how much you get into this!!! Keep up the great work. It's Star Wars amazing LOL!!! So many story lines erupted from this one!! So many questions. Ok subbed for the ride LOL.
He *heard* the space whales.
Huyang was also in an episode or two of Clone Wars, that's where I knew him from. The episode where Ahsoka took younglings to Illum to find their Kyber Crystals and build their lightsabers, was quite kid-friendly but still interesting.
Yes. It was absolutely amazing! Such a great moment!
The blonde Sith Padawan is Shin Hati she3 is portrayed by Ivanna Sakhno.
I love the show and I love your reactions to it.
To squeeze in so much in such a short time..... Everything was right with this episode.
Walking out into space to defend your DIW ship from enemy fighters is such an Anakin move and i love that for her
Also, if you watch the pre-quels (the third I'm sure has this at least.) they have hyperspace rings for "regular" ships without the capability to travel through hyperspace.
They dock into the ring so it becomes a part of/with the ship and then you can un-dock aswell when you are at your destination. I assume this ring is like this but for a large goddamn Star-Destroyer and to travel MUCH further in a short amount of time.
I think I’m confused as to if the engines are reusable. I don’t know I think I just wanna see it in action.
I am getting more convinced that Hati Shin (the apprentice baddie) does not like Morgan at all... Sounded like she's been waiting to put Morgan down and jumped at this chance :) I'm _hoping_ that we see a heel-turn somewhere in this series...
And damnit, now I want to rewatch all clone wars and rebels...(actually the whole series again)
Finaly some great spaceship stuffs. That episode was pure Star Wars.
I don't know if you noticed but on Jacen's left shoulder he's wearing Kanan's pauldron that he had in Rebels
29:13 We saw Obi Wan use a very small version to get to that planet to spy on Dooku.
Your infectious enthusiasm for "space shit" makes me so happy :D
The original movie (well, the X-wing) is the reason I joined the Air Force to be a pilot.
Its bad ass what is being done now from the animated series to live action. I hope there is more seasons because there is so much development that can be done for so many characters.
Ashoka is a great teacher she did learn from three of the best
Morrock is starkiller in video game, Vader used his dna to create a apprentice and it’s been said he became a inquisitor
12:19 I've been successful in wielding the Force to make a cup stay absolutely still.
Amazing, amazing, amazing!
"[Jacen] Causing trouble with Chopper, no doubt" - cut to "yes, but I believe their activity speaks to a larger operation"
I see what you did there 😅
Huyang was in a few episodes of Clone Wars.
I think it's hilarious that they had David Tennant do his "Wellll" when talking to Ahsoka in the cockpit.
You see Obi-Wan use a hyperspace ring when he goes to Kamino and Geonosis in attack of the clones. This one is scaled up so that they can bring back Thrawn’s star destroyer.
Thx for the video !
I didn’t know Hera had a son named Jacen.
