Had to reupload. A piece of background noise cancelation software I use turned off the keyboard test sound.
Just wondering what mic is that you are using?

I pre-ordered the base model 13 inch iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro and picked them up yesterday, not certain if I was going to like them or not. I bought a 12.9’ iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil last year but took it back within two weeks because while it was incredibly powerful and super fast, the software that I need to use hadn’t caught up with the tablet hardware. Let’s just say that a year makes a huge difference in software. As an IT person in general, a network engineer specifically, I needed software that would let me do remote control (primarily RDP) and SSH/Telnet for console access. The apps I use (Microsoft RDP and Termius) are so much better now than they were a year ago. Add to that another app I found, a-shell that gives me actual command line access on the iPad, and I’m pretty sure I’ve found my laptop replacement. I will definitely be keeping the M4 iPad Pro.
I'm kind of on the fence still. I'm also a network engineer/sys admin and lack of a decent SSH/terminal app held me back. I've got a 16" M1 Max MBP but it usually stays in a dock at my house and it's big but it gets the job done and runs a Win11 VM in parallels in case I need that for some reason.
Microsoft RDP was the first big step in helping me be OK with an ipad and little fold out bluetooth keyboard and moving to Connectwise screen connect was also a big help but when I look at what I actually need a device to do and the price tag of these new ipads + keyboard, I wonder why not just get a used M2 or M1 Macbook Air and call it a day?
""The apps I use (Microsoft RDP and Termius) are so much better now than they were a year ago."
Are they?
I use Microsoft RDP for about 3-4 Years and the Version right now feels exactly the same as older ones...
I understand what you’re saying about the Apple Pencil. I bought an Apple Pencil holder from ESR that sticks to the back. Works great.
I've found it extremely helpful and useful to place my iPad Pro and keyboard/case in a sleeve. This way the pencil does not come off of the device when tossed in a bag. This offers protection and additional security when taking the device on the go.
Ooh that unexpected Magic Keyboard ASMR 👌🏼🥰
I just bought a brand new M2 MacBook Air, iPad Air M2 11-inch with the Apple Pencil Pro, the Folio Case as well as Apple Care+ for less than the iPad Pro 13-inch 256 with the new keyboard and Pencil Pro would have cost me. The 13-inch Pro has an amazing display but it's hard to recommend that product when you can get an M2 MacBook and the new iPad Air together for less unless you have specific needs. Not to mention Mac-iPad Continuity feature is amazing. Is the new display worth that much for an average user?
its a no brainer thats a way better deal you got
The silver iPad with white keyboard looks really nice but i think I have to go with Space black with black keyboard combo. Not sure though..🤔
Will you recommend a screen protector also?🤔
I got the new iPod Pro 11 inch, I love it. Thinking about the Magic Keybourd but not sure yet. Thanks for the video 👏🏻
The Logitech Combo Touch is so much better and more flexible than the Magic Keyboard. Being able to just pop off the keyboard and still have a stand, while protecting the side rails all the way around makes so much sense. And it’s significantly cheaper too. And Apple sells it on their site.
I agree, the magic keyboard looks nicer but the Logitech is more versatile. I'm not happy with the price increase because why is the new one $260 😕
Can’t use it on your lap or small surface . I bought it and instantly realised how much space you need . Sold it few days later for Magic Keyboard
I use the Logitech as well. The Magic Keyboard offers no protection to the iPad. Despite my best efforts I drop my iPad and the Logitech keyboard saved it every time. I don’t trust the Apple Magic Keyboard to do the same.
@@woofiooxx I’ve had the M1 with the combo touch for nearly 3 years. Never had a problem. I just must have a bigger lap than you lol
@@woofiooxxWhy can‘t you use it on your lap?
I love this little apple pencil accessory that’s small and can be folded back. You slide the pencil through it and it holds it in place as well as allows it to charge. (I’ll link in a separate comment to be safe but it’s called OFA pencil holder)
I got the iPad Pro 11 inch today along with the pencil pro. My intention was to use this as a tablet and not like a laptop. I already have a MacBook Pro for that. And I really didn’t want to basically have an iPad Pro that resembled the lid/screen of my MacBook. two different functions for me anyway. I don’t plan on getting the keyboard from Apple. I’ll Get a third-party case and maybe a keyboard but I want something that doesn’t have to have a keyboard attached to it all the time and I do want something that I can grip. I don’t wanna just pull the iPad off of the keyboard thing. I actually wanted to have a case when I use it like a tablet, one thing that’s really bugging me even though I’ve only had it a few hours is the fact that the pencil is fatter than the iPad itself and anytime you just set it down or tap it or whatever the pencil ends up falling over and blocking the camera. I know it’s pretty minor but it bugs me pretty bad in a short period of time. anyway thank you for the video.
I got the 13", the white Magic Keyboard, and the new pencil. I like them all. I thought the pencil squeeze things was very gimmicky during Apple's unveiling. In fact I use it and like it. It' saves time. My old iPad Pro was 6 years old so it was time to upgrade. The old display was SO good that I actually can't tell much difference with the new OLED display.
I'll comment again just for the sake of engagement! Great video man, I've been loving the iPad pro with the new keyboard!
How long does the keyboard last before it needs to be recharged?
Love my new iPad Pro 11” M4. Love the keyboard for typing. Love the mouse for scribbling and drawing. Love the naked iPad so thin and light I practically carry it anywhere. I sell my MacBook. Mac + iPad + iPhone covers all my needs.
Just want to mention I use the keyboard purely when I need to type long sentences, have a flat surface somewhere and a comfortable chair. Typing comments like this on UA-cam doesn’t need a keyboard, which means you don’t need to hold iPad + keyboard which can be heavy. My iPad always naked until it needs a keyboard.
Do you think is more enjoyable than the 13? I am about to upgrade from 12.9 to 11inch!
@@charbelelbarche5441 it depends if 13 is too big for you to hold comfortably for a an hour at least then go for 11. So comfort vs screen space whichever is your priority.
I have a Thule bag I use and put my iPad Pro with Apple pencil attached every time I travel and I’ve never had an issue with it coming off. I feel like that comment was pretty trivial and reaching for a complaint point.
Besides most bags have pen storage pockets so you can always store it there.
You can remap the squeeze function to not just switch tools but also Siri shortcuts so you can have it take a photo, turn off lights, open the trunk on your car, call your friend, anything really- the possibilities are endless
imagine a guy pointing an apple pencil at a garage door and make it open. Wizard style.
samsung s-pens had the shortcut button for a long time, glad that Its now on apple, now the next thing I hope is the pencil getting the ‘magic wand’ gestures the s-pen has.
Its going to be really useful for a camera remote like on samsung
@@TropicalCyc for sure it’s awesome they both have it now glad they copied them

I bought the iPad Pro 13” with the Magic Keyboard. I was expecting it to be really fast but it seems laggy.
I saw a video where the user touched the iPad screen when it was attached to the keyboard, which you did not do. The whole thing tipped back. It appears the changes to this version of the keyboard were not well tested. I decided to save a few hundred dollars and purchased a wireless 75% mechanical keyboard. It’s so much fun to use.
The are very prone to tipping back.
I was watching... and it disappeared, lol! Back for the reload! I'm loving mine, very impressed over the old one. That one was nice but this is almost on par with a MBP keyboard IMHO.
I’ll
Hey, nice video! I was wondering if that new keyboard is compatible with the new 11 inch iPad Air M2?
No unfortunately not
I got the iPad M4 11” with the Magic Keyboard/Pencil……I, had all of that in the previous version too. I, like you have been waiting for them to do something with pencil storage. Find-My helps me find it, but what about helping me transporting it so that I don’t lose it in the first place. I’ve had to resort to 3rd party solutions. Lastly, I don’t use a laptop at all anymore. This is it. To some degree, I feel like I still operate with a limp…..I’m hoping still that Apple will get over their Mac obsession, and allow a dual-boot option with the iPad Pro…..maybe activated when it’s docked on the Magic Keyboard, or at least a Mac-like OS that is WAY closer than just stage-manager.
They work great plugged into a monitor, full sized keyboard and mouse. It is better than Dex, it is the same. Been connecting them using a USB-C dongle for years. Now you can even extend instead of just mirror. Much better than dex.
I’m looking forward to a full review of the M4 iPad Pro & MK/Pencil Pro. As a M1 12.9” Pro user, I really would like to know if it’s worth it to upgrade now. Haven’t had the ability to get to an Apple Store yet to check it out so that’s why I’m watching all I can on UA-cam about them.
Unless you have a workflow that ACTUALLY bogs down the M1 (doubtful), you shouldn’t upgrade. I’m in the same situation with my 14MBP M1, and I’m a software developer…
Will an older iPad Pro fit in the new keyboard?
@2:13 "Feels pretty good" why not explain a bit? Compared to the standalone MK or even the MacBook keyboard...
What's the weight of the new magic keyboard?
I put an adhesive sleeve for the Apple Pencil on the back of my Magic Keyboard for travel
Finding I can’t really justify the upgrade from the base 12.9” M1, but the new keyboards look great. The hardware looks good but I would need some big software features to justify it so the iPad could actually do something qualatively different - MacOS crossover, IDEs and Docker for software development, on-device AI features, console emulators that require more oomph than the M1 with 8GB RAM can provide.
May I ask please what mic you are using?
Another reviewer showed that when you tap on the screen when the iPad pro is connected to the apple Magic keyboard with the Apple Pencil that the screen wobbles back much more so than the previous Magic Keyboard.
It's too heavy and I did not need my iPad to mimic my Macbook. I waited for the Logitech Folio Combo. It's lighter and I can fold it over
Please try old m2 or m1 iPad with this
What do you all think about the Pro as a second screen? Need something for business travel...
is it wobbling when typing or touching screen?
Ordered mine. I feel like WWDC is going to be good for the iPad this year and it might be limited to the latest release
I wouldn’t count on it apple always limit there products
For the pencil I got the moft case that covers the pencil. I hope they make one for the m4 iPad Pro.
I got the pro with the folio case and pencil pro, currently have a Mac and iPad Pro for optometry school school, but once I graduate I’ll get the keyboard and I’ll use that and leave the Mac at hkme
Love the point about the new Apple Pencil Pro's storage. Apple will likely never allow DEX-like usability on the iPad Pro just for profit's sake.
I got mine today and I have it all set up now - best thing I can say is: SWEET! It all works together and so nicely. A complete package. So much potential here - incredible M4 chip, display, etc - now the software has catch up and take full advantage of this amazing iPad.
Which one you had before?
“Software has catch up” ofc if Netflix, basic word processing, is all you need 😂😂😂😂

Upgraded from m1 12.9 inch to m4 13 inch, what an upgrade. This iPad will last forever man.
lmao, what a fool.
@@jamesdax why man.
Considering you chose to upgrade from an M1, it will last you about 3 years. How unnecessary 😂
This is a good upgrade finally for 2018 and 2020 iPad Pros. Very little to offer for anyone with an M1 or M2.
@@terribletimes902
That's your opinion. For others it may make sense to upgrade.
@@terribletimes902 nah man, the display alone is fking amazing. I couldn’t stand the blooming on the m1 iPad Pro. Why should it last me about 3 years? It will last me for sure like 10 years if not longer… but i will upgrade as soon as the software updates run out…
I’ve used the MK with my 6th gen 12.9” and was not impressed. IMHO, the best keyboard for iPad Air and the Pro is the Logitech Combo Touch. While it doesn’t have the USB charging port, its keyboard is top notch. It also offers more protection and flexibility (you can remove the magnetic keyboard or fold it under). Logitech now has one for the 13” and it’s available from Apple. Just my $.02…
is the keyvboard the same material on the lid than the previous one that got dirty and smeared with finger print oil
Just got my new white one. Previous one I had was black and all worn out. Material is the same but only the keyboard and trackpad section is aluminium with the corners bent over the edges so the soft weakspots are less exposed and perhaps last longer.
@@jb-sh1yh awesome, i have the same issue with my black keyboard. think im gonna go with white, it looks clean and more durable.
and how is the Samsung Tab S9 compared to the new Ipad? is the display a huge different?
The display is actually nicer on the tabs9 ultra. Richer colors. Watching content is also better as the aspect ratio on the tabs9 tablet is better
Its a joke of you talk about SW and speed. Display is ok but half brightness compared to the tandem OLED on the new Pros. Dex is just a skin and apps are so bad and not optimized for desktop. Stage manager is better as iPad apps are more pro, thousands more variety with very high quality and all optimized for the big screen.
@fmax6000 dex is massively better than stage manager what are you on about. They don't even compare. And no the iPad is not 2x brighter lol that's not how it works. The only thing the iPad has over the samsung tablets is the soc and some apps
iPad can’t lie flat with the keyboard attached. That’s something I wished they fixed since previous version
So, do you find that you hit the bottom of the ipad when you use the function keys?
I don’t.
So glad people on youtube is pointing out the design flaw more and more now of the so called "storage" of the ipen. Like whoever designed it initially obviously never took their ipad anywhere else but left it on their desk so they just needed a place holder, literally. I was hoping by 2nd iteration of the current pencil they fix that issue... alas no
Weird I’ve traveled the world with my iPad Pro without issue with the storage of the Apple Pencil.
First off wtf is an iPen. Second, what exactly can be changed about the Pencil itself to be easier to store? The magnetic connection was such a good idea that Samsung blatantly copied it. The biggest issue with losing it has been fixed with the addition of Find My, which was the real puzzling omission from previous versions.
The keyboard is excellent and because it feels so much like my MacBook keyboard, I find myself automatically (with muscle memory) trying to glide across to my other iPad Pro (as with Universal Control on my MacBook) to drag & drop files from the second iPad, and to only need one keyboard to control all my open devices (that are connected with the same Apple ID). This would definitely improve the functionality of this keyboard and new M4 iPad Pro. Otherwise I have to use a separate bluetooth keyboard with my other iPad Pro, and often I even have a 3rd iPad open doing some other task, so the desk quickly becomes cluttered with multiple keyboards when I should be able to tie them all together with this single new keyboard in the same way that I can when using my MacBook Pro.
Because this new iPad keyboard is so nice and thin, it is even more comfortable than my M1 16" MacBook keyboard ... so users should be provided with the choice which keyboard they prefer to use to control all open Apple devices using the "Universal Control" function. At the moment "Universal Control" has to be initiated from a Mac computer, cannot be used with multiple iPads by themselves. Universal Control should also extend to iPhone, so that files can be dragged and dropped between any Apple Device and that a single keyboard (of the user's choice) can be used to control all of the devices simultaneously.
Happy with my M1 iPad. But every time I misplace the pencil I’ll want to upgrade.
This old normal still rocking my Apple 2017 12-inch iPad Pro with third party $ 71.99 iPad pro 12.9 case with Keyboard 2017 2nd 2015 1st Generation, 360 Rotatable Wireless Folio 180 Swivel Stand Hard Cover Auto Sleep Wake up Black.
I am curious, on 0:52, what is the purpose of the iPad under the camera?
Running teleprompter software reflecting in front of the main camera
The new iPad Pro looks fantastic! But for my use cases, MBP fits better.
omg i wish the ipad pro case had that little notch for the apple pencil
That thing is WOBBLINGGGG
If Apple could even give a light mac version for ipad to allow for business/school work where you need to things the mac is better for would be perfect
Completely agree with the software and needing some macOS “Dex-like” mode for us nerds and professionals who need desktop software support
Dex is just a mobile operating system with a desktop skin. Stage manager is quite literally the same thing just a bit more tuned for tablet apps
@@bowlingdoughnutsmd3703Stage Manager feels much more restrictive than what Samsung offers with DeX.
Dex is a UI change. It doesn’t add software support. If iPad had a traditional looking desktop, it would still be limited to App Store apps. It would just look a little different.
Ok so in that case stage manager is similar but I guess it works for most people and should be implemented on the iPhone but what we really need is iPad Pro with MacOS support for work
I was expecting like $129 maybe max, But damn thing is $289 for the 11" keyboard? The fuckk?!!!
The outgoing keyboard was the same price as this new one. Couldn’t see it get cheaper with it being made from aluminum. Honestly, I’m shocked the price didn’t increase
Smart Keyboard maybe. This is the new Magic Keyboard
129 is the pencil😂😂
Not only the pencil is 129 but so is an external keyboard (if not more) and an external trackpad (white version and the black is 150)😂😂😂
I think, the new iPad Pro is nice and the Apple Pencil is the best accessory but the Magic Keyboard and the lack of protection for an expensive machine I would need to look elsewhere for something that gives me trackpad keyboard and protection
You can use a dex mode its called Stage manager' - think its alot better than Dex as well 🎉
I’m all out Apple but don’t say It’s better than Dex lol that’s just not true at all . Have you actually used Dex? You wouldn’t make this comment if you did. Again I’m all out iPad and just got my M4 so not being a Samsung fanboy here just facts

Apple, take your Apple Pencil back to the drawing board & design a sturdier, pencil-secured & reasonably priced keyboard! Also, get new management who will listen to what customers want and stop price gouging!!!
I heard the Magic Keyboard rubber material deteriorates pretty quickly despite how expensive they are. Glad there's aluminum now, but rest of it is still the same material

Until they make the keyboard folds completely flat and reduce the weight it is a no go for me. I have the Magic Keyboard and used it on one trip! The weight and fact I could not use the tablet any longer as a handheld flat table while I was lying in on the couch caused me to relegate the Magic Keyboard to the back of my closet.
I have the 12.9” M1 iPad Pro with Apple Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil .. it is AMAZING but because of iOS completely useless .. I use it as a media device at home while cooking, and as a journal using a journal app I had to BUY because apple doesn’t have a journal app for iPad just iPhone (?!?!?! WTF ?!?!?!) and then I use it as a cellular enabled laptop-lite for travel, eg when on vacation or meeting clients in the field to do very light email and photo of checks to email etc etc etc etc etc (yes checks, those things banks issue) .. to be brutally honest, if the MacBook Pro had a cellular option I wouldn’t need the iPad at all .. conversely if the iPad Pro had a macOS option I might not need the MacBook Pro at all
But I never liked that it doesn’t provide proper protection on the sides and the iPad pops off if jostled or dropped-not good!
A dynamic software would be great!
Why no one is testing the 60 watt charging on this thing?
I wish it had. 24 GB of RAM option and longer battery life… I would then take the leap and make the iPad my Laptop. I have faith that Apple will have great software updates for iPadOS in the near future.

@@woofiooxx for how much they’re wanting for the tablet and it’s keyboard, it better have some functionality as a main computer… especially with all that power from the M4. MBP will always have its place, but you can do so much with a touch and detachable screen

Prefer to have MacBook Air with XDR screen and 5G modem. Screen with attached keyboard is just too sophisticated.
The iPad Pro with Mseries should be the all in one. If you want an iPad done, switch to macOS now you have a laptop and a desktop computer that you can just open and turn it into a media consumption device think😮
I won't be getting one of the M4 iPads, I've already got the perfect combination (for me, of course) an M3 Pro MBP 14 and the iPad mini 6.
I love the magic keyboard but it is WAY too expensive for what it is.
I’ve never lost my pencil when attached on the iPad and placed in a bag. It’s not a thing.
I did end up picking up the 13” iPad Air and it’s awesome! I had an 11” older iPad Pro and honestly apart from how fast the other iPad unlocked from the home screen this one is a fantastic upgrade! Next is the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
If it runs MacOS when the keyboard is attached ... and dump GarbageOS ... I am IN!!! I will totally buy this. But until Apple unleashes the hardware there is no point replacing my 2018 iPad Pro.

So I’m actually planning on getting the 13” iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard, & pencil pro later this year (sometime around Christmas)so I can use it for college next year. I’m also planning on getting a Mac mini & subscribing to duet display so when I start in person classes in the fall of next year I can remotely access my home computer and have macOS on my iPad. (Yes, I know it’s technically more expensive than just getting a MacBook Air or something, but with my current situation I need to plan on cheaper short term & expensive long term or else I’ll have to wait 2 whole years before I can even start college &/or move out of the situation that is currently limiting me from doing anything with my life)
Magic Keyboard is very very cool, but the one thing repelling me from it is the fact that the sides of the iPad are un protected while in it… I’m too clumsy to use an iPad without a case 🫤, so Logitech combo touch or the new ESR one for me
I’ve always found this point to be profoundly stupid. It’s not a phone, you aren’t supposed to be waving it around like one. It’s a desk bound object. It’s got a larger footprint than most laptops, yet few feel the need to put a case on their laptops. Because they understand that a laptop is a stationary device despite being portable. Same deal with these iPads. If you can’t stop yourself from dropping it everywhere then you are simply dumb. A phone, sure, it could slip out of your pocket or you could get bumped while holding it. Makes sense. Not so for a tablet.
you can buy a coverbuddy case on the ipad to protect about 90% of the ipad while on the keyboard.
It hooks up to the monitors automatically when you do it unless you got a cheap dock I thought you was a UA-camr
Not making it backwards compatible with the M1-M2 is BS. The 11 inch still had the same thickness as the previous one and there is no way they couldn’t have designed it to be backwards compatible. My current magic keyboard which I used for the Air 4 and now the M2 for the past two years has been suffering the fraying issue on the edges. I don’t want to replace it with the old magic keyboard since it’s only a matter of time before it frays again.
Come on, apple.
When you connect the iPad to a dock stage manager turns on. That’s their dex equivalent.
HEY!! ESR SELLS AN APPLE PENCIL HOLDER THAT ATTACHES TO THE BACK OF YOUR KEYBOARD CASE!!! MUCH BETTER THAN SAMSUNG!!!
whenever you review a keyboard, especially a white one, please remember to show its backlit
it’s kind of a must, like talking about camera when reviewing a smartphone
The problem is the price. At the prices they want for the pro, it needs to be a laptop replacement. I mean the setup you have, if 1TB of storage, cost more then a 1 TB 14" Mac book pro. So if I need to still buy that laptop, and a phone, it's a bit much for a Netflix and Apple TV screen. Sure, it does more then that, but again, I need a laptop, so I don't care.
Well I love ipads but would not replace my computers with it. Photography, music making, 3D modeling, programming, video editing, games are still far better on a computer. For lighter tasks the ipad is fine though.
Anyone notice he wore the same shirt for the same video for the other Magic Keyboard
How can you make a video about the Magic Keyboard and not talk about how much better the trackpad is over the old version. It’s almost worth upgrading to the new iPads just to get the new keyboard because of the trackpad.
jeh super vido
Really dislike the new keyboard. It sits much lower and the viewing angle is much farther back. The metal on the back also scrapes and scratches everything, whereas the last gen was a silicone material and much softer
It’s really difficult to open
Bought the iPad Pro 11" today and the keyboard. The keyboard is well worth the 300 bucks. I was hesitant to purchase it due to the cost but after just a few hours of playing around with it the whole setup has exceeded my expectations. Very functional and high quality. No regret on the spend.
I had planned on upgrading from the M1 12.9” pro but wanting to go the 11” as the 12.9” size just makes it too hard to pop in my backpack along with everything else I take to work. I’m looking for reviews on the 11” as it’s such a huge cost to justify when the M1 chip works fine for my needs…I just don’t use it as much as I won’t as I can’t fit it in my bag.
