I’ve been driving a touring trim for about a month now, and definitely agree with the review. It’s crazy how well it handles daily driving. So many reviews focus on the track or 0-60, and miss out on the grocery store runs. The Air is fantastic.
A few months ago I was heading home on the freeway. It was the end of rush hour so there was some room on the freeway. I changed lanes to my left into the number three lane and out of nowhere I see this car flying by in the number two lane. It scared me because it was super quiet and Ultra fast I thought I was going fast this car passed me like I was standing still. Lucid airs are incredibly fast.
We have a 2022 Air Dream Performance and a 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid (replaced our 2015 Model S P90D). Absolutely agree. The Air trounces the Mosel S in roominess, handling, quietness, ease of operation (with well-thought-out buttons for key functions and better camera views, including birds-eye view for parking) and build quality. Even though the Plaid is a tick quicker under hard acceleration, its front end goes loose under hard acceleration while the Air Dream stays more planted, thus actually making its power more usable. Our Lucid, with over 20,000 miles on the odometer remains rock solid. Our Model S Plaid had developed squeaks and groans in the rear quarters by 10,000 miles.
This is yet another confirmation that it’s absolutely the best driving car in the world. Jason Cammisa said this also when he reviewed it on his Haggerty channel. As a Lucid GT & Tesla owner I can say with certainty that Lucid is on another level of quality/performance. When you own one you’ll know. Cheers!
Best "driving" car can be a pro and a con in today's day and age. My Model S with FSD don't need much driving at all, and that's infinitely better than any Lucid's out there imo.

Lucid is still in the stage Tesla was in when revealing the model S/X but they are much better and winning against every other vehicle of the same class regardless of it being electric or not. Insane level of engineering at Lucid and wish them success through this difficult time. One downside to Lucid is their horrible website and vehicle lineup, it needs to be simple and clean like Tesla so this video was very much appreciated.
They do have insane engineering but they need to tone it down and make cars they can actually make money on. I wish them the best but it doesn't look promising.
Here are the key takeaways from the video about the Lucid Air Sapphire: 1. It's an ultra-high-performance version of the Lucid Air sedan, similar to AMG for Mercedes or M for BMW. It costs $250,000. 2. Exterior design cues that identify the Sapphire include the exclusive blue/green paint color, carbon fiber mirrors, rear spoiler/diffuser, and "Sapphire" badging. 3. It has 1,234 horsepower and can accelerate 0-60 mph in under 2 seconds. It's one of the quickest production sedans ever made. 4. Special performance tires have a grippier outer compound for cornering while maintaining efficiency on the highway. 5. Interior has Alcantara trim, sport seats, and lots of "Sapphire" branding to remind you it's the top trim. 6. Incredibly spacious cabin and trunk space, with best-in-class rear legroom according to the reviewer. 7. Drives unlike any 5,000+ lb sedan thanks to incredible grip, traction control, and a supple yet composed suspension. 8. Three distinct driving modes let you choose between comfort, sport, and maximum track performance. 9. The reviewer calls it the best performance sedan in the world currently, with no real downsides besides the $250k price tag.
I was wondering about that too, and I won’t be surprised if Marques uses a fancy gimbal with advanced stabilization, with monitor on the back of the phone, and buttons for quick smooth flips.
There is actually a way to get inside of the Lucid if the fob battery dies. You need to press the door handle for 3 seconds and then hold the key fob just below the camera which is situated on the middle bar.
I'm all for competition in the EV market. But I think you guys should know that Lucid has already been cited for unsafe working conditions. I read reports that say many factory employees have been injured on the job and Lucid hasn't made any changes to the work environment. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe changes have been made. I think employee safety is important, and we all should press the company on this issue before we pat them on the back.
@@empirevapor1455 Lucid has sold roughly 40 of these and are in the process of attempting to establish a Mercedes AMG or BMW M type sub-brand. i fell in love with lucid ever since i saw the first one
Lucid is my dream car - has been since they premiered the 400+ range when no one else did.
Their range was what attracted me to look into what kind of car it is for me to find out they will smoke any Tesla on the road.
This is the type of car you upgrade to in 3rd match in racing games.
If you haven't been squandering your funny money on nitrous cartridges (or the like).
2 years ago this was the most advanced EV car ever and it still is even today
Depends on how you define "advanced". I can get to work and back in my Model S with my feet away from both pedals, and without even making turns myself. That's what I call "advanced".

If I’m paying upwards of 120k, I expect to have all these features standard, with amazing range as well, and imo Lucid’s the only company that delivers

Best in class! Is Marques aware it's competing with Bentleys and Aston martins at that price right?
And it's better, yes. This is one time where Marques' car knowledge is correct
That’s what he’s saying so this car has better interior materials than Bentley according to him which is…. Interesting imo
The Aston Martin Rapide AMR has 580 horsepower. The Saphire has more than double that.
Competing against those makes, still the best..
Bentleys and Aston Martins are massively overrated, and have none of the performance specs of this Lucid Sapphire.

Nice assumption but you're wrong
Cheers!

Here are the key takeaways from the video about the Lucid Air Sapphire:

Thanks for your review! As a former Wall Street analyst, my greatest concern is spending $250,000 on a car produced by a company that could be bankrupt in a year or two after it’s purchased. I currently own a 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance and would rather pay $60k to get their latest edition which provides a solid technologically advanced, fast sedan because I don’t need to worry the company won’t be around in a year or two.
