@@MegaCasperC Not necessarily. I've seen a company that got rid of a higher paid employee by eliminating their position (basically their job title) and hired a new employee a couple days later under a different job title at entry level pay. There was nothing wrong with the work the higher paid employee did for the almost 20 years they were there. It just saved the company money to hire someone at the lower pay. I know because I had to train that new person, who had a certificate, but no work experience. The CEO used to say that if an employee has been there over 5 years, they were there too long. The new person was assigned the exact same work the woman had been doing, but under a different job title and making less than half of what the former employee made. I left at around the 7 year mark when they said they could only give me a 10 cent raise because I was only 10 cents from the top of my pay scale even though they could have changed my job title to give me a bigger raise because they were having me train new employees in 2 different departments. I went and got job making almost twice what i was making there based on my experience. Companies sometimes do that because there is no loyalty to long time employees like there used to be.

I enjoy your willingness to think through what is presented in the world. A few things 1) Companies should not be interfering in politics, which unfortunately they do. Instead they should be held accountable for HOW they do business, i.e. paying workers fairly not outsourcing to countries that allow abuse of workers, or refusing pay increases when they are making record profits, etc., sadly since they are so deep in the pockets of politicians that doesn’t happen. 2) I work at a state university and we are so far past DEI that we have targeted hiring. Targeted hiring is a process that allows ONLY minority candidates to be interviewed - for positions making up to multiple 6 figure salaries. This practice is NOT used when hiring for most staff positions which are severely underpaid [a Bachelor degree isn’t enough to get the position, years of experience is also required, but pay is so low you qualify for food stamps and section 8 housing]. 3) A narrative is how we discuss a topic to make it sound good - no matter how despicable the actual topic may be when analyzed. So totally opposing realities can both be made to sound good or logical - it just depends on which details we leave out. 4) People being willing to ignore the information that doesn’t reinforce their own wants leads to situations like this - I was speaking to the Vice President for DEI at the State University where I work, she happens to be a black woman making around $400,000 per year. The topic was the deplorable wages of staff I already mentioned. She said, “I agree that people with Bachelor degrees shouldn’t be on food stamps, but it’s not like they need nice houses or cars.” For clarity, this University is in the Midwest, with basically no public transportation. 5) I cannot stress this enough: Unchecked Power Corrupts.

Dei definitely excludes white heterosexuals, especially males. If the goal was for actual inclusivity it wouldn't need to exist. What company wouldn't hire the best person for any position? In America white people are predominant so it's not wrong to have white people in the majority of positions. They're are people of all backgrounds who are successful in this country. Not everyone can be successful. Believe it or not there are white people that have shitty beginnings and there's been a black president. These recent ideas have divided the nation more than brought it together. Teaching the youth to hate our country is wrong. Teaching girls men are not different or important is wrong. Teaching any race that another race is bad for things that happened decades or centuries ago is wrong. You can't fight hate with hate.

The ONLY things Companies should be interested in is making a Good Product that their Customers want....they should NOT have anything to do with pushing 'Social' issues, that is the province of the actual People of that Country/Nation. Having Companies push DEI negates what the actual Citizenry wants, since the Big Companies/Corporations can BRIBE, err 'Lobby' Politicians so they vote for something the Politicians Constituents DON'T WANT. Did Abraham, Lincoln, in his Gettysburg Address say "A Government of the Corporations, by the Corporations, for the Corporations shall not perish from the Earth"? NO, it was 'Government of the PEOPLE, by the PEOPLE, for the PEOPLE'
How is it NOT Racist if you have a White Man with 10 Years experience in a Job, that Graduated from College with Honors, and reject His Application for a position and pick a Black Women with ZERO Experience straight out of college that only had average Grades....which is what Companies/Corporations are doing today with DEI. They are NOT Hiring for Merit, they are hiring based upon 'Appearance'. This was even pointed out by the Eastern European Female 'Head Hunter' who went out specifically looking for Female Coders, and in the end hired all Men because the Women she interviewed were Lazy and couldn't code worth a damn....in todays climate she would still have been forced to hire those Women even if it meant the Company would be putting out substandard products that no one wanted to buy or else have to hire TWICE as many people to get the same job done, also making the Company LOSE Profit.

Unfortunately the past few years have seen extreme restrictions on the range of compensation upwards which shuts people out from getting their foot in the door or developing room for growth. I'll hire someone unskilled that I think really wants to be there and can be trained up, but they're not getting the same compensation as someone with 10 years experience who can bring more to the table. Its disingenuous to say you care about slavery that took place 200 years ago while promoting slavery in China and not speaking out on the mass slavery being imported into America today. Same goes for Nike.

I'll tell you why it's apples responsibility to focus on how they affect life & culture: because they spend a lot of money telling people that cool, affluent people (synonymous with 'good' in capitalism) choose their products. If you position your product as a moral choice - which most advertising companies try to do on your behalf - then... well, you are taking on that responsibility too.
Otherwise, all marketing would be about performance and capability. But they're not, are they?
Basically - if they stop preaching to me about their products being the only way to be happy... then I'll stop preaching to them that they have a cultural responsibility in general.
This has nothing to do with how i feel about American Corporate DEI culture which I loathe and is infecting the UK as well. But the corps want to have their cake and eat it. ...How about no?

Just putting it out there, but there is a good number of folks who apply to a job and if they don't get it, they automatically assume it's because of their race/gender/orientation/etc and they make it a problem online so the business they applied to has a chance of being harassed by the random Twitter or TikTok cults. There are many factors that go into the hiring process. Maybe they didn't like how many Tattoos or Piercings you have (or the position requires you to not have any Tats or piercings at all!), maybe they thought you were too snippy/sarcastic during the interview, maybe you didn't dress well for the interview so they assume you're not taking it seriously. If you're just as qualified as any white/black/asian/indian/hispanic/man/woman/bigfoot/etc, then you have just as much of a chance as any of them, and if you don't get the job, move on and try to find something else, life's too short for the BS and if you're serious about getting yourself out there to work, that should be your focus, not starting a flame war with the company that didn't hire you (and you have no actual idea why they didn't choose you, so you're just ASSUMING the worst).

i have been a hiring manager since the early 90s. Since day one, there was always pressure to fill positions with minorities. The problem was, we hardly got black candidates to even apply. at one company, the biggest company in the county with a worldwide known brand name, we (not the other way around) reached out to the local HBCU to start an internship program. the program was designed to give these kids a internship and after they graduated, looked to hire them to fill roles. the other university in the same city were more proactive reaching out to companies like ours to get internships programs set up. but we when the HBCU route b/c the pressure to hire, even if you had to go out of your way to find a minority to interview, was strong. my point is the pressure from management to hire minorities has been ongoing for over a half century. there is absolutely no valid reason for diversity hiring, just hire the most qualified. no one is throwing away minority resumes. they are looking at resumes to sort out those that line up enough with the job role for an interview. and most, including me, will hire the minority unless the white candidate is a MUCH better fit for the role.

Let's look at this issue from a perspective from a country that has instated equity as law. In South Africa, the African national congress (ANC) has implemented Broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) which is a law stating that any company of a certain size, making a certain yearly revenue, with a certain amount of employees must follow a set rule of equity hiring. This equity hiring is categorised as 'impoverished and disadvantaged' workers, I e: the black majority. The argument the ANC makes is, due to Apartheid, whites have greatly benefited from the oppression of blacks, and therefore, 30 odd years after the first democratic elections and instatment of a black government, whites are somehow still doing so. Regardless of the fact that the black government today has done more harm to black citizens, than apartheid ever had done.
This law entails that for every small, medium or large company (especially if owned by a white person) must, if the employee amount exceeds over 50 personnel, that for every white employee there must be 10 black employees, regardless of qualification of skill. And if the employee so desires, they can substitute a Coloured, Indian, or Asian person for one black version out of the 50 employees.
If this law is not followed, a fine can be given at the discretion of the South African revenue services (SARS) or the ANC government itself. This is racial discrimination under the disguise of disadvantaged equity hiring. Resulting in companies not being able to hire people based purely on merit, but rather appointed a hiring list via the government, leading to companies eventually losing revenue, relocating, downsizing and closing down.
What's even more perverse is that an amendment has been made to the law due to the backlash. Companies, have sought to hire on merit, and thereby split their larger companies into entity companies, smaller sub-companies that all work together, but are owned by the same individual. Each company only hires up to 49 individuals based on merit. The ANC amended the law stating, that if a company does not comply with the 50 employee threshold they will be fined until they do employ more than 50 employees... This has resulted in companies closing down, or relocating to neighbouring countries, or going abroad. In January of 2024, 77 000 skilled labourers left South Africa to find work abroad, resulting in the home affairs departments to stop issuing Visas and passports. Refusing people to leave the country on the basis of work.
This is what is going to happen in America and will only lead to a decline in skilled labour, and more laws and bylaws being passed to insure equity over equality, and racial hiring quotas.
Racial hiring quotas have led to major public institutions being destroyed, namely:
    Public transit
    Railway transit
    International transit (SA airways)
    Energy sectors
    Public hospitals
    Public schools
    SARS
    Home affairs
    Government municipalities
    Ect.
Don't do socialism America, you are a representative Republic first, a democracy second. Remember that.

5:05 It is absolutely not about fixing a broken system. An example of this is police stations when they're hiring dispatchers and such, nowhere on the application is there a place for you to put race, there's also no place for gender, it actually says on the application do not list these things. Yet when I got called in for an interview, for a dispatcher position, the interviewing officer was shocked, when he called my name and I stood up. He was shocked because I am a man and I have one of those names that can be male or female. He was so shocked, that he actually said, before catching himself, "Oh you're a man, I didn't expect that, we specifically went through and picked out names that we thought were women, we were trying to fill these positions with... um... Oh... Let's just get into the interview room" He got halfway through his thought and then realized that he fucked up. I ended up getting offered the job, I knew I had one of the best scores on the testing since I had a 99.5% score on a 200 question test, I knew that my background was 100% clean, and I thought I did pretty well on the interview. I did not accept the job, knowing that I had them in such a way, that if they didn't give me the job, I would have a lawsuit in the bag. I was not willing to take the job based on the possibility that, it was offered, not on merit but on them wanting to avoid a possible lawsuit.
If I had not been offered the job, I would have asked a few questions and as long as the person that got hired wasn't way way below me as far as qualifications I would have let it go, but if she had scored somewhere in the minimum score for passing which would have been 75%, and had anything negative in her background, there wouldn't be anything like I could do to check on her interview But if in the two categories I could get some information on I was way above then I might consider suing, but since they offered me the job I just didn't accept it and moved on. My test scores and background as well as good interviews, I got job offers for three different law departments. It was a little annoying, because the one that I turned down because of the possibility of it not being a fair job offer, was actually the one that I wanted more than the other two.

A good example is how i took my brother's college entrance exams for him. It got him into classes he was not able to keep up with, and ended up causing him more problems.
