I highly disagree, but I happen to remember Ghandi. Military, for what? We will anyways end up in a one world government, only question is how many people we want to die for it. Also, at least in Denmark police are only there to harass and make problems, not to help. I lived next to two men who often beat or choked random women until unconsciousness and the police always ignored me.
@alessandrakalini What the police are supposed to do is protect protect women from being beaten and choked. If what you are saying when you say they always ignored you is that you tried to tell the police what these men were doing but they ignored you, then I would say that the police are not doing their job. Lately, in part because of this anti police stance, police are not doing their job when it comes to protecting people. At least in the US. There was a time when they actually did protect people. Police are changing. People need to demand that police do their job, not demand that they don't want police at all.
If "YOU" run up a quarter million debt going to college...... "YOU" need to pay that debt. It is your debt. I went to work and did not take out a loan to live in a sex commune and drink alcohol. If your degree is in a worthless field do not blame me.

Nothing is free if you have to pay for it in your taxes. You also have to report the so called, "free college", on your taxes, in which the government will tax you for that, so you'll be paying for that as well. If the rich are forced into paying for this, in their taxes, people will end up losing their jobs, getting massive pay cuts, no job opportunities,no chances for raises or promotions, because the rich people couldn't afford it and afford running their businesses and crap, and this will cause a chain reaction, which would make going to college useless. They will pay for this either way. These people would have it much better if they just paid off their student loans. Anyone who didn't go to college, and who has paid off their college debt shouldn't have to have to pay for this, it's essentially theft.

She is the epitome of what is wrong with the colleges. They are taught to just argue, about ANYTHING, but when it comes to solving real problems they can’t. I just watched Prager U go to a college and ask people questions and if they wanted to sign a petition. The two that shocked me the most, were, “Do you think it is okay to have Black only dorms?” Oh yes, that was okay, pretty many signatures. Next question “Are you in favor of separate water fountains for Blacks and Whites?” Oh my GOSH, the students had a fit, “NO, THAT is not okay!” They don’t see the segregation in the dorms as bad. We are sliding slowly backwards when we had come SO FAR!😢 It makes me so sad that these students will be going out into the world like this! This craziness will take a LONG TIME to fix. I’m so PROUD of you for being so based and informed. I don’t know where you are in college, but either they are doing something right, or you are an exceptional young man. We tried not having an army or navy once, then the war of 1812 happened and President Madison realized that was stupid.
George Washington created the US Navy in 1794, in the Naval Act of 1794 to create a standing Navy to combat the Barbary Pirates. However, I see the confusion since this same Barbary coast caused problems again after the war of 1812 and were dealt with swiftly. The US Navy itself existed in 1812.

My son is a freshman in college. He chose his school based on a specific major he wanted and knows exactly what he wants to do after. He chose a major that will lead to employment, I do know he's in the minority. Proud of him and you seem to be the same. Thank you for what you do and maybe you can change some younger minds

College is absolutely a scam. Half the courses I had to take had nothing to do with my degree, but I needed it to become a CPA. I'm now in 60+ of student debt when it could be half that if I could have just focused on accounting courses.
That's why college is much cheaper in some European countries. Also, they can finish their degree in 3 years instead of 4. My mother was a licensed practical nurse (LPN) when she left work to raise me and my siblings. She did return to working as an LPN when I was 11 as I was the youngest. She later returned to college to get her BSN and RN credits. She had to take a couple PE courses and humanities courses to get her credits. She ended up taking billiards, golf, pottery and some other throw away class. Those classes had nothing to fo with nursing and they were a waste of time and money. She had a lot of garbage classes to take because she already had the majority of the credits from when she was in college and nursing school when she was young. She had taken some classes as a refresher before taking the state exam to renew her license because she had been off work for 25 years, but that left her with some related classes, but a lot of classes unrelated to nursing. She said she wished she could just write a check to cover the billiards, golf, pottery, etc instead of actually having to show up for those since she didn't need them for her career anyway. They really want that tuition money in the US even if it wastes the students time.
@kimberlybeals9203 exactly. I was going part time and working full time. It took me 8 years to get my degree. What made it worse was I needed 150 credit hours to become a CPA (certified public accountant). I took anything from journalism to medical terminology to English lit to whatever I could take that would fit my schedule when I exhausted all my accounting course options. I'm glad I'm done at least. Your mom and I sound like we have similar work ethics. ❤️
@@kimmyB9203 we need some like-minded brilliant people to overhaul the whole system of college educational degree requirements with streamlined, tailored to a certain field of work, course requirements. Also, make it much easier to transfer between schools without having to retake the same courses because one school won't accept the credits earned at a previous college.

I asked him where he learned that and he said at college, and that he agreed. He said this in front of his well-educated and very loving parents had brought him on this vacation and were buying his expensive lunch. What was really sad was when his mom said it was true.😢

I tried to go to collage for a year on some scholarships and found it pointless as at the time I still had no idea of what I wanted to do. If anything, collage is a horrible investment vs a good trade school. Being an electrician or plumber will never be a job that ends.

Philosophy 101 was a required humanities course when I was in nursing school program at my university. The purpose of the class was to teach students how to debate ideas, not how to think, as seems to be the case today.
Philosophy is required for plenty of majors. Most Ethics courses are based in philosophy. Philosophy is also the course where most people start to learn how to debate. Honestly, I don't think our universities do a good enough job teaching Philosophy and our culture doesn't truly value it. The first thing we learn to throw out the window in the business world is ethics, unless you want to stymie your career and be seen as the stick-in-the-mud at the office.

Philosophy is actually meant to cultivate Critical and Logical thinking and Progress.

I cannot begin to explain how happy I was to hear you talk about how most high schoolers have no idea what they really want to study. I failed out of college at 19 because I didn’t enjoy any of the classes I was taking and just stopped trying. I ended up in the military and now at 31, this artsy girl is back in school for physics of all things and I never would have found my love for the subject without my military service. I HATED sciences in school and now it’s my biggest passion. Young adults need to experience the world before they should be able make the intense financial commitment to a college degree.

Hi LFR, thank you for a well expressed and articulated description of what to expect from college/university education. You are giving me hope in our newer generation; issues and/or choices may have been easier for my generation (BS Mechanical Engineering 1972). My generation had more support from the community (i.e. a traditional family, youth groups 4H, Boy/Girl Scouts, Church, neighborhood, vintage media/TV/magazines, ... ). I did go through "classical education" prior to my acceptance to my University. I learned a lot and had a lot of "mentors" (Ford Motor Co internship), ... I wish you a great career and engineering and/or STEM field of studies are great "truths" to learn and study. May Peace be with you and thank you for spelling out a philosophy in a "language" that may resonate better with younger generations. Ciao, L

I was blessed with my son. He chose his college, which he starts in the fall solely on the field he wants to study and eventually become. Has never even brought up any external things about college other than what he can learn. Whewwww. Also great content keep being you.

One thing the student did get right in this exchange was that Mother Teresa was NOT a good person. Her 'Missionaries of Charity' flagship location was noted for having abysmal sanitation standards that was responsible for contributing to sickness rather than treating it. Unqualified staff that would engage in practices such as washing needles under tap water and then reusing them. Much of the medication in her "charities" were scarce, and when the were applied to patients it was often months after it had expired. She was more interested in converting people to Catholicism so that they could die at peace with God rather than prioritize healing and nursing them back to health...
Education is not what it was...
One doesn't have to go to college or university to be exposed to different ideas, cultures, and beliefs......Life itself with thrust such experiences upon you.
