yeah 100%. I think the most important thing for people to know is that the differences between the brands is relatively small. Quality of life features make more difference than most things unless a reviewer explicitly says that the ffb or pedal feel is horrible. We're so so lucky.
It's a pity you didn't review the most interesting piece, the only one I'd be willing to trust in this little new production house: the hydraulic brake pedal! Unfortunately there isn't even one review in the whole net and this is stopping me from buying them.
Just got them today, still getting used to them wish there was more travel in the brake slowly getting there, but the throttle is so good. Quicker already and just getting started
These videos are all about the genuine reaction. I use the footage that I gather during these videos to remember things that I might otherwise forget for my longer term reviews
I got myself a pair, with the standard brake, Love them! Only thing is I find that I can't get the base plate high enough so my foot is comfortable on the gas. I have the long pedal face, but small 7 1/2 shoes size (41 in Eurpoean), I'm always re-ajusting my foot.. Otherwise Fan-bloody-tasic!
Great review! Do you know approximately when the full review will come? Soo curious on the hydraulic break... It just looks awesome!! I am hesitating between these and Asetek Invicta.
It will be the new year before I have a video prepared but join my discord for all the latest news. Filming videos is always ahead of the edited reviews :) If people want info before the video goes live, you can ask for it in my discord when I install the hydraulic brake on my rig. I can already tell you that I prefer the throttle and baseplate of the evo. And i prefer the pedal faces. And I even prefer the load cell brake of the evo to the hydraulic invicta. So the evo is really doing well in the comparison :)
Just get VRS it is cheaper and you will be 100 percent happy, i tested HE ultimates, had terrible Asetek Forte! And VRS is all i wanted, they are great! I do not think even about hydraulic pedals now! Btw i liked Simtag hydraulic pedals ;)
you'd be delighted with either of them, to be honest. I'm yet to hear a bad word about the VRS. I haven't reviewed them but I'm confident in the opinions of the community.
i like that they used a pressure sensor for the hydraulic pedal, im wondering how they would feel compared to the loadcell version. great first impressions video LD!
next time try to get more light when filming your footwork on the pedals during the test drive, other than that, nice review. those pedals looks amazing, i would have designed a nicer enclosure for the electronic board (like the HE and VRS pedals) but everything else seems good and aesthetically speaking they are the best i've ever seen. i just got a too good of a deal on a set of used HE ultimates but otherwise i would have jumped on those for sure. good job meca.
Maybe. But it's not intuitive. It would save some time and throughout my experience, I wasn't even made aware that there is a user manual. A first time setup of a product like this shouldn't require a manual
@@LaurenceDusoswa It is done by loosening the 4 screws that keep the footrest plate and sliding it forward. I actually had the same thought about it being not so much easy to reach those front mounting holes, but was very pleased to see such a fast and simple solution to it.
Hi Laurence, thanks for covering these with a great review. Just for clarity, the set up you used here, does this represent the now available EVO1 LC version, and not the Evo1 Hydraulic versions? Cheers!
There's a spring instead of one of the elastomers which is by design. they achieve the initial 10-15% in a light way very like you'd get in a power assisted brake setup in any car. I was skeptical but it works for me. If you don't like that first phase though, I'll have to see if you can remove it.
It is in the works. I’m sorry for the delays but there is a lot of complexity to the product and it deserves the right amount of time investment from me. If you have any specific questions please find my discord link in the description and feel free to send me a private message
I've just done the same from sprints to these and my personal experience from this is these are way more precise and intuitive to use then the sprints suffered with sprints with constantly locking up the wheels in iracing not once have I done this with these and my braking distances have greatly reduced
I'm in the market for a new set of pedals. I don't need the Clutch so I would go with only Throttle/brake LC. How they compare to the IMSIM TALENTO pedals? I live in US and the Talentos here are more expensive then Meca so having a good comparison would give me confidence to make my purchase decision. I've watched a bunch of reviews for both products and they seemed to be very similar so it's kinda hard for me to decide right now.
Hey LD I'm a bout to buy the Simtrecs ProPedal GT and was wondering if the Meca base plate was any good. I would get the Simtrecs one but they are available right now and it's turning out to be a difficult endeavor finding a good plate with heal rest for my NLR fgt elite rig.
@@LaurenceDusoswa in the calibration/software section the graph showed the RAW on the x axis, going from 0 to 512. If thats not the actual resolution, please let me know, i’d be super interested in these if they are 12bit+
Hahahaha! No 😂😂😂 why do you think that? I got the hardware without paying but I also never sell the review hardware. So the only payment I get is UA-cam ad revenue. I hope that explains it :)
Man, we’re so spoiled for choice right now in sim racing. Thanks for the video, LD!

I didn’t review anything here. This is not my review. But feel free to ask whatever you want to know.
They look amazing and at a descent price when compaired with other this level. Great review as always.
They’re really nice yeah. The bundle with the handbrake and shifter is awesome too
Just bought these pedals, just playing the waiting game to get them on the rig can't wait
Did you get them fitted?!
@LaurenceDusoswa they are due this week, will keep you posted

Damn ! Your reaction was priceless🤘🏼🏁

Gorgeous, Definitely MECA's magnum opus!
Yeah they're really really nice. better than I expected and a real joy to use, especially with boots/shoes
This vs VRS DirectForce Pro vs HE Sprint, 2 pedal set, what would you recommend in terms of build quality, reliability and 'feel'?
Hi Laurence, I'm also interested in that question, and I would add the Asetek Forte and the Simagic P2000...

Yep my battery powered light died and I didn’t see it. You only get one chance at first impressions unfortunately :p
The order of the cables from pedals to control box can be found in the user manual. Been using mine for the past week and I absolutely love them!
Also it is explained how to reach the front mounting holes of the baseplate without removing the footrest plate.
Maybe. But it's not intuitive. It would save some time and throughout my experience, I wasn't even made aware that there is a user manual. A first time setup of a product like this shouldn't require a manual

MecaCup 1 brake had place for 3 elastomers... So I'm bit disapointed in removing some of throw adjustment.

A different perspective regarding the logo sticker... Being a sticker, you can take it off removing the branding all together
yep fair point. I love a subtle branding though. I think that companies deserve to put their mark on their hard work.
Hi Laurence. Would you consider going from HE Sprints to these pedals, a sideways upgrade?
In my opinion, a nice upgrade
I've just done the same from sprints to these and my personal experience from this is these are way more precise and intuitive to use then the sprints suffered with sprints with constantly locking up the wheels in iracing not once have I done this with these and my braking distances have greatly reduced

Hahaha I tried to get the word out to as many places as possible but it can be difficult to spread the news :p
Thanks can't wait for the full review of them both.
Thanks for the vid! Any chance to test the ImSim Talento pedals?

Most pedals in that range are very similar to be honest. Buy the ones you like and can afford
Laurence, you didn’t post the Meca link. What’s the price of the pedals?
Ah! Will update the description
Laurence have you tried the VRS, how do they compare to those and indeed the Meca Cup 1's? Worth the extra cash ..
I haven’t reviewed them. But they are really good from what i hear

The meca heel rest is the best on the market as far as I’m concerned
@LaurenceDusoswa well thanks price is pretty good also.
How is the hydraulic brakes perform? Im planning to buy one.
Really good! I think I prefer the load cell but the hydraulic does feel really good and performs great too
I'm looking for some new pedals at the moment at torn between these or sprints? What would everyone go for
For me it's easy, THESE
Hi Laurence have you tested the Imsim Talento? If so how do these compare??
I believe I used them at the expo last year and liked them but I have not reviewed them
My clutch pedal lost it's calibration always after computer restart. Is there a fix for this?
How does the stiffness of the throttle feel at maximum "tension" if you like.. ?
Really good
None of these type of Pedals seemed to be made for a size 9 foot
The pedal resolution is only 512??? Thats not good for a high pedal set. If you take into account dead zones theres not much left.
Where did you see that pedal resolution?
@@LaurenceDusoswa in the calibration/software section the graph showed the RAW on the x axis, going from 0 to 512. If thats not the actual resolution, please let me know, i’d be super interested in these if they are 12bit+
They use leo bodnar 16bit board so 32k steps , 512 are just the points that can be adjusted in the software
