First time watcher and impressed with your presentation :) As a VRS datapack creator, but not so much intertwined with the hardware projects, it was nice for me to be able to get your perspective on these. I'm going to make the jump to these from G29s and having never used quality pedals, so I'm quite excited. I know software IS on the way, and I've forwarded your suggestions to the guys about conveniently loading profiles and adjusting force curves.
it looks like you were experiencing the limitations of elastomers, where you see the peak and then the drop off. Great to see the data that the VRS eliminates this, will definitely be getting the VRS pedals since i'm a bit fed up the same way you are about the annoying brake drop off.
I believe the sprint pedals face can be moved but not as much adjustment. They can be flipped to give you a taller pedal face or shorter. There is no left or right adjustment.
Yes apologies I probably wasn't clear enough in what I meant by adjustment. I was meaning in terms of moving and angling the faces back and forward. What I found was different parts of the sole of my boot touched different parts of the pedals throughout the depression of the pedal. Being able to angle the faces slightly would solve this. But well spotted! And thanks for the Comment.
Another awsome review. I did not expect this result. I love my sprint. But as you say, you have to push a bit long distanse/travel. But curious on the vrs. What you try next? Vrs with the dampers? Or bj simpedal hydraulic at same pricepoint as vrs/sprint..
Thanks for watching and the feedback! Next will be a long term review once I have some serious hours to experiment with the VRS more, we are waiting for the dampers to be released and as son as I have them I will do a review, hoping to get a set of Ultimates in the next few weeks for another comparison and it would be great if I can secure some other pedals as well. Thanks again and stay tuned!
The lap times here I'd put firmly in margin of error catagory. Having said that though I own some Sprints and I really dislike the rubbers bushings. You hit the nail on the head with the coming off the brakes and the on/off feel of the hard rubbers... I still struggle to get a decent feel for them sadly. I'm seriously tempted to go grab some VRS pedals and sell the HE's
If you can find a deal on a used set of HPP PRX pedals (they have a newer model out, but good luck finding them used. People just don't sell them.) jump on it. The hydraulic brake is by far the best I've ever felt. Just like a real car. The throttle is buttery smooth and the clutch has a really cool cam system that feels like a real pressure plate. They are very reliable too. I got mine used and I've had them for a couple years of constant use with zero issues.
Just a note that you can rotate the Sprint pedal faces to position them a little higher or lower. So they have a bit more customization than you stated. Both pedals look like they’d get the job done.
Mydas Simulations hopefully have some they are going to loan me to do a long term back to back now. So fingers crossed we can see if they are still too dog. And I’m keen to try them as well. 👍
@@SmokingSteelGarage they seem the pedal of choice for most that go for more high range setup. Much more affordable now as well. Will look out for your vid.

@@SmokingSteelGarage for the Ultimates it's actually ever so slightly cheaper than before. We still have free trade with the UK, so you're only paying VAT (and a small brokerage fee) when the order enters the UK. In the past, you'd pay 21% Dutch VAT, now it's 20% UK VAT, so slightly cheaper.

Hi. Not sure what you mean by that. if its a typo and you meant a clutch pedal then no you don't need, most cars you can set to auto clutch and just lift off the throttle as you change gear.
If you want to drive an older 997 911gt3 cup Porsche, you need to have a degressiv brakepedal like known in your normal car an a clutch 4 downshifting with "zwischengas" like we say in 🇩🇪. In a current Gt3 car like the r8 or AMG GT3 you need a progressive brake with a short travel and a pressure of 70kilo. To simulate that, your brake has to be extreme good. The GT3 Cup Porsche Pedals could be HE Sprints and for the Hard Brake I use the Asetek invicta. But to have fun with racing, just buy a pedalset that is fitting to your style. The fanatec v1 were a long time my choice 20years ago. Now I have v3 and invicta and HE are ordered. 😊 I will give the v3 bpk away. They are new but squeeky. Don't buy fanatec. Quality is worse.
Sooo, basically $250 USD extra cost for less than 1% performance gain over the Heusinkveld. Well, as a weekend hobbyist sim racer, I'll take the Sprint's value since I'll never race enough to make use of the fractional gains.
I just found them to be really switchy then, on/off, no progression. I had much more control over pressure with the softer rubbers, but had to get used to the slightly longer peddle they produced. Its still good, and I was amazed how quickly I settled back into them after using the VRS for a few hours.
Some very nice detail on the properties of each pedal versus the HE Sprints. The side by side analyzer graphs bit is quite interesting. It does tell me we need software from VRS, to be able to quickly change profiles per type of car. I like the comparison format, as we don't often see that with sim gear. The matter of the fact style is refreshing. The Sprints are one of the main competitors at this price point and hardware wise seem to punch above the Sprints to even a higher level. For customers in North America the cost of the Sprints adds $87 USD ($112 USD for the HE Ultimates) or so to the price as compared to the VRS, which is cheaper due to their location, which weighs on the decision. It will also be interesting to see how the add-on hydraulic dampeners ($149 USD) will perform and enhance the VRS. That dampener may take it very close in performance and feel to the HE Ultimates, which are the benchmark for performance pedals currently. It will be good to get an updated lap times stat after you get closer to the amount of hours that you have in the Sprints, and to compare the two models in another type of car, like a Radical or a Formula, while you still have them in house. I do get this is your early take on how the initial form of the pedals are, and that it is likely to release software for them, and would really like to see another review of the completed set with software + hydraulic dampeners kit for all 3 pedals, because at that point they should really shine. Thanks Gavin. Detail on the hydraulic dampener kit, which VRS will sell as an add-on: Optional throttle, brake, and clutch hydraulic damper kit (to available later): USD 149 / EUR 149 VAT incl. Damper kit description: The DirectForce Pro Pedals Damper Kit consists of three hydraulic dampers for the VRS DirectForce Pro Throttle, Brake, and Clutch pedals. Recommended for people who’d like their sim racing pedals to feel a bit more like real-life hydraulic pedals. These dampers will provide extra resistance against rapid input changes which can help to smoothen out your inputs but can add unwanted friction and take away some responsiveness, which is why we offer them as an optional add-on rather than pre-installing them on our damper-less Throttle, Brake and Clutch pedals.
Awesome feedback and spot on. Thanks so much for taking the time to write it. The only concern I have for the dampers is they may take some of the snap out of the throttle pedal. So I can't wait to try them and see. I'm also keen to see how they react to the brake feel. Because it feels great at the moment so I'm a little apprehensive if in terms of pure performance they will be a benefit. In terms of real life feeling and mimicking the feeling of hydraulic brakes I'm sure they can only help. But at some point irl feel and Sim lap times have to go their separate ways. Hopefully soon we have some available to bolt on and see. 👍
1st watcher and really enjoyed the show. Id say that you would only get more speed out of the VRS pedals, especially considering the minimal time you have been using them and they are so close in times. Maybe a follow up review on what you did with the VRS pedals today, to what they are like after some more time spent on the VRS pedals.
That's the plan, I will revisit them in a few weeks once I have some good hours on them. and hopefully if iRacing leave the Cup Car alone we can revisit the sprint data to compare them again and get a good view on were the VRS really sit in terms of performance. They are really working well. No faults or issues so far. I will shoot an update soon and go back over the data to see if anything really stands out. We also have some other pedals in the price range on the way for more comparisons.
Hi Stavvy, thanks for the comment. Yes I still have the spring fitted but all the preload is taken out of it. I'm going to revisit the sprint settings in the next few weeks and see if we can find something a bit better for them. Having the VRS as a benchmark........ Every day is a learning day!
I have the same issue with constant brake force on the Sprints, however: I would assume, after having watched interviews with niels, the Sprints might be more durable, he talked especially about the springs. The deformation on those looks like it strains the springs in the VRS a lot more. Anyway, great looking pedal set, but I will pass on these.
I have to give it to vrs they are killing it with price/performance ratio and there dd wheel is insanely good mabye the best road detail I've ever felt from any dd and I've used them all absolutely amazing now some things don't come through as good for me but man that road feel is 4vrrything to me it always feels like you are engaged and to me that's that's matters since all of these wheels can do the job amd be competitive it comes down to which one makes you more immersed or which one sre you most comfortable with or what details do you like to feel the most lol if I had my choice tho of any dd wheel people may be shocked by this but the dd1 I liked it for me it wasn't overly sensitive some of these dd wheel are so sensitive and that shale that happens bugs me sometimes with the dd1 you can tune that out beautifully and I feel everything I need to but without feeling the unwanted effects once setup correctly funny because at first it was the opposite and it couldn't be fixed now with rhe newer drivers and stuff yesh it's outstandingly good imo sure we all know the semucube is the best in most opinion s but I actually enjoyed using the dd1 more and i don't need 20nm I like sitting at 8 to 10nm and it's perfect it's absolutely for me the most weel rounded due to how it feels the power the price and the entire fanatec ecosystem and they keep doing more things and new things I think the new csl elite dd is absokutely outstanding I'm hearing from testers it feels identical to the dd1 and dd2 and that's even without new drivers that's with the first drivers for it not 1 wheel from fanatec comes out on release that dialed in so to hesr that it's amazing and I may get one to use during my competitions dude to only setting 8nm when I compete I don't go higher then that and I like that it will be maxed as I've found dd wheels that are only 10nk when I max that out compared to just putting another dd wheel to 10 that cna go to 2p I feel the 10nm wheel maxed has a bit more to it then oen that you have to lower but again I think its an outstanding move on fanatec end I mens they may change the entire game with this wheel base and that's exciting DD wheels may become the standard how insanely good is that? Also I feel every dsmn place that has wheels will have a csl elite dd wheel due to it having the power but not to much and the price I just feel so many things including f1 comps and others will be using it i just know it lol

Hi Stavvy, thanks for the comment. Yes I still have the spring fitted but all the preload is taken out of it. I'm going to revisit the sprint settings in the next few weeks and see if we can find something a bit better for them. Having the VRS as a benchmark........ Every day is a learning day!
Sprit vs pro, why
I see a lot of fanboys in the comments :)
Great video man! But damn your frame rate is horrible! That's why I stick to ultrawide lol
Dude. Punctuation. I can't read this.
Thanks for your review :) I currently drive the Sprints and am considering switching from the Sprints to the VRS even before your review was online because I am super satisfied with my VRS Base.
Would you say a switch from the Sprints to the VRS is worth it or are they too close together?
It's too close at the moment. But if VRS do launch some software then I'd say that would be the tipping point. Also awaiting the dampers which could potentially improve the VRS even more.
Did you redo the test?
