      Wow nice! These are just my first impressions so it’s too early to compare them to other pedals right now. But if you’re in the Simagic ecosystem I imagine that most will be very happy especially if they’re coming from mid range pedals

    Hey Lawrence, great vid! I have a suggestion for the clutch pedal. My friend came up with this. you can 3D print/cut out a 20mm x 20mm Plastic/metal piece around 5mm thick (or any hard material). Stick some double sided tape on one side and if you'd like, stick on foam on the other side. Then you can place that on the base piece of the clutch underneath the location of the pivot (between the pedal and spring) at full travel. This limits the clutch travel and dampens the sound significantly. I was finding that the clutch force felt weird and the force fell off too much too suddenly, so I made this modification to limit the travel until just over the hump of the channel for the clutch. You can add/remove foam/double sided tape to change the height of the assembly to limit the travel to your liking. I'd give it a go and see if it helps, let me know if there are any questions about this if you wanted to try it out. I personally like the clutch better after the mod. It won't completely transform it into something amazing, but it helped in my experience.

      Nice! I won’t go modding these though as I need to review them as the customer would get them and use them the way they would. Maybe in the future. Thanks for the great tip though! It might help someone.

    Ey no way! I had been hoping you would get your hands on a set of these! I have had my set for about... 3 weeks and have put about 20 hours into them, I'm pretty happy with the quality of the pedals and how they feel physically but the software really does need to step up and if I'm gonna be honest, I'm getting strong EMI when I plug them into the base (or it might be grounding issues...) and only when plugged into the base.
    I actually like them more than my Alpha Mini haha, have the 200kg load cell and the long accelerator, I kinda wish I had gotten the regular accelerator pedal and bought the upgraded one at a later date (the regular one isn't sold on its own).
    Beautiful pedals, absolutely gorgeous in everyway. Highly recommended.

      Yeah I haven't messed with the software yet. I just used content manager to set deadzones so far. Glad you're enjoying yours, if I need any tips I'll come and ask :) So far, I'm enjoying them. They're very 'plug and play' which I really appreciate.

      When i bought my alpha i had already heusinkveld’s pro pedals. Never had problems with them until I installed the alpha base. After all it was a grounding problem. Grounded my pedals to the controlbox and problem was solved. Maybe its comming from the direct drive

    Lawrence, I mounted mine differently- using the black bolts you mounted the pedal faces with to mount the pedals. The black bolts look better holding the pedals down.
    Also for you cable hiding junkies, you can hide the cables very well by carefully squeezing the cable ends through the slots in the baseplate. It is tight but if you are careful they do go through

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  2 роки тому

      Interesting. I know what you mean. Probably looks a bit better. I tend to use the largest bolt head on the heaviest application

  • @flugel1983
    @flugel1983 2 роки тому +4

    Good impression of the pedals. The looks are stunning. The black pedals with the grey edges. The sideways wobble that you showed was my biggest concern, wonder if it comes from the one bold mouting or its the pedal in the bracket itself. But overall the first impression is a good impression. It’s really high quality product

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah I need to look into the sideways movement a bit more. I never adjust pedals when I get them first as I want to try them the way they came from the factory. So in a few days I’ll see if it’s as simple as tightening a bolt

    • @DavidGarcia-oi5nt
      @DavidGarcia-oi5nt 2 роки тому +2

      Some people in the Simagic server have tried to fix the sideways wobble and they said it was due to too much space in between the bearing and pedal arm, they were able to get rid of it by adding some very thin washers (it was actually aluminum foil that they added).

    Definitely interested to hear your thoughts on the clutch once you've given it a thorough test as I thought the action to simulate the clutch bite point looked really well done so the fact you're not that happy with it on first impressions is not what I was expecting at all. Looks really good, as a M10 owner I was hyped for this but rapidly turned off when I saw a video where the reviewer noticed a flex on the brake pedal (very similar to the one on T-LCM pedals)

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  2 роки тому

      Where was the flex? I’m not familiar with the T-LCMs. As in, I’ve never had them on my rig. You mean the side to side movement? That may be adjustable. For my first impressions, I always run stuff as I got it. It’s a good quality control indicator. I will be doing a full review in the coming weeks which will address any solutions or persisting issues. This is not a review.

    Can we buy the throttle on its own? Look fairly good overall but I don't like the control box and the connectors it uses. Not on the same level as the rest of it, a bit antiquated. Not sure I would go hydraulic for sim racing but if I did this looks like a nice compact option. I'm yet to have tried a clutch I like. Even the flippy ones you describe don't feel very race car to me... RaceGear was metal on metal too until I 3D printed a buffer for it. Sometimes I wonder if the guys that design Sim clutches have ever driven a car...

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  2 роки тому

      Hahaha yeah I bet they have, but simulating a clutch is incredible complex, especially if you want an adjustable bite point. Also, a clutch which is 70% like real life is ‘good enough’ for sim racing I think

    Hey Laurence,
    It seems that with short travel of the Invicta there doesn't seem to be much point of hydro... In fact any race rep brake to that fact.
    But does this simagic allow for travel adjustment with the brake pedal to simulate road brakes and almost zero for race brakes?
    Or is travel similar to Invicta?
    Is there any brake that is able to simulate this travel feature?
