Thank you for talking about how you let European beauty standards get to you a little bit. Girl I completely understand what you mean because I used to always get weaves with leave out 🤦🏾♀️. Sis my hair was damaged in the front and poppin in the back lol. Never again
Isi, what you said at the end of the video resonated with me so much! It’s really easy to think that you appreciate everything that makes you..you, but there’s that side that makes you feel like... you’re not as maybe... attractive as what is the trend on social media , whether it’s wigs or silky straight hair or “curly hair” but it’s important to stay in tune with yourself and find the beauty in your essence!
I know what you mean when you KNOW what your hair looks like and feels like at optimal health and it changes. Even if it still looks good to everyone else. You know what your hair feels like at its best and you can never settle for less than that when you know.
I knew you were wearing a half wig in the last vid but i didn't know in this one. When you took it off I gasped "Why is your hair so thin? Oh wait it is braided in the back"
I appreciate you Isimeme for showing your truth and vulnerability to us. It helps me to relate to you and go through this natural hair journey knowing it's okay to make mistakes. But to also learn from it. This video made me feel alot better about myself, thank you.

24:42 I even think calling the European look "crisp and pristine" is what is we are told. Who is to say that a 4c Afro is not pristine? Pristine just means something that is in its original, unspoiled condition and an Afro is that! It grows out our heads just like that! It's the same when people say that an Afro can't be elegant and the list goes on... All that to say, the hair that naturally grows out of your scalp (healthy and taken care of) is beautiful and is acceptable. The world just needs to get on the same page. How can we encourage that people can have surgery, etc. in order to feel confident and love themselves, but not deal with the root problems of why the world tells people that how they naturally are isn't okay. I believe that how you naturally are is beautiful just the way it is✨
That's why I limit my time on Instagram.... y'all getting brainwashed! Lol! I live in London England and the natural hair movement hair is far behind the lace front movement. I work my natural hair out today in a frizzy chunky twist out with side flat twists and I never got so many compliments on my hair as compared to wearing a wig. They do not see 4c hair looking amazing regularly in London. Everyone is in the same closure. lace front straight wig. Maybe because I grew up in a black majority Caribbean country that I have zero problems wearing my natural texture.
One thing that helped my hair is adore jet black hair dye. If you look at the 2 photos of your hair in the healthier state it’s darker. Heat strips hair of many protein one of those being melanin proteins aka color proteins. By adding (key word adding rather then lifting like with bleach/developer) Color proteins back into the hair it leaves the protective coating on it. 😊 much love 💕 💕
The thing that is so tricky about heat damaged natural hair your hair only ends up looking good/normal when it’s straight when it’s in that damaged state it don’t look good natural anymore and that’s what I’m goin thru Rn 😓 don’t worry we gon get thru this 💗

Wow Isi, we’re on the same boat. I was the exact same way with flat ironing and getting lazy in the last few months so I’ll definitely be watching to see your journey and how you revive your curls!
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve recently had some natural hair struggles. Got it flat iron for the first time after being natural for like 2 to 3 years. Maybe more I’m not sure but anyways my hair had really bad heat damage after that. I end up doing a Big chop because it was nothing else I could do. So I thought because it was really damaged and it smelt like pork rinds to give you an idea. That’s how fried it was. I cried when I cut it all off. It’s growing back very slowly and I kind of feel depressed about it. Like you said in the video you never realize the value of your natural hair until it’s damaged or it’s gone. I was also a lazy natural and I wish I took more care of it and appreciated it more. Thank you for the video. Now I know I’m not the only person. I also know no matter how long you’ve been naturally you can make some mistakes along the way.
Heyyy sis, I really hate to see you beating yourself up for this! I think maybe your hair is also shedding a little because of stress, and I hope that you know you’re beautiful still and your hair will grow back with proper care!!
yeah just like many other people quarantine made me not take care of my hair as i usually do. i realized the only reason I washed my hair every 2 weeks was because i was going out and styling my hair therefore giving me a reason to not be lazy. during the beginning of quarantine i would wash my hair and leave it in twists for a VERY long time without moisturizing it in between and ik that that’s not what my hair likes. it can be left in twists but i gotta wash it every 2 weeks. since the start of 2021 i’ve made sure to actively do better and get back into my regular routine :))
It’s gonna come back and it will get better, I’ve seen your hair journey video and your hair from that video had the best transition I’ve ever seen🙌🏾❤️❤️

Love the honesty. Honestly, I hate that hair stylists make us believe that our hair needs to be blown out or flat ironed in order to be braided. I have 4b type hair and I’ve done those 2 braided styles without heat the most recent being the jumbo knotless which was done yesterday. You can achieve these styles without heat and your hair will look just the same. Best alternative for stretched hair before you get braids is to wash your hair and braid it in big over night without product. Take them out the next day and there you go

Hey Isi I hope you are well. I just wanted to say don't beat yourself up too much when it comes to your hair. Yes I feel you it's annoying when you don't take care of your hair and it gets damaged. Do remember as well as you get older your starts to change particularly as you get to 25/26 plus. Also what you eat, if you are stressed and other lifestyle choices effect your hair I am sure you know this 😊. So don't worry too much. I believe you will get it back to being healthy or better, even if there are a few changes in your hair. Keep doing what you are doing. 👍🏾😌
Great vid! I recently left my hair straight for 2 weeks and I noticed damage on wash day too! I m thinking of doing heatless straightening methods like curlers! It looks super pretty!! 😍
Sometimes instead of blowdrying your hair for a style like box braids you can just do some braids in your natural hair, let it dry then comb it out. If the ends aren’t straight enough when doing box braids you can always add edge control or something to smooth it down. That’s what I do because heat damaged my hair
Great video 😌I appreciate this! I’ve been watching for some time now and I appreciate your honesty and transparency. I cut my hair short recently because of heat damage didn’t want to admit it to myself but I know with me doing wigs for the first time and less manipulation will allow my 4C hair to flourish 🙂

I am literally learning this lesson at the same time as you. I have been natural for over 7years and I got a little lazy, doing things a little out of normal. I haven't been able to get my hair back to when I first went natural, my hair texture changed and I was okay with that but the heat usage only once messed up my hair and I did not notice it at first but the damage from that one-time heat usage definitely revealed itself over time.
Especially Aphogee. I tell people to start off with some ORS or CANTU or AUBREY ORGANICS GPB. Mild Silk or milk proteins. Or even some wheat protein. But everyone wants to run straight to Aphogee..straight up keratin or collagen, strong harsh, heavy protein that will suck all the moisture out and make your hair brittle if you don't know what you are doing. My hair eats protein for breakfast but I have high porosity, ultra-fine hair. Everyone else with low porosity or coarse hair, should use Aphogee with extreme caution..even the Curlific line. My friend has low porosity coarse hair and even Aussie 3 minute reconstructor was too much for her hair. She also tried Nexus Emergencee and that was a nightmare!
@@missnaturelover3937 Not everyone does this even I don't even think the instructions on 2 step say this. Yup it just says Apply ApHogee Balancing Moisturizer to hair and scalp. Leave in for 2 mins. That is not enough for my hair. After, I use As I am hydration elation protein-free deep conditioner for 30 minutes with my electric conditioning heat cap.

Thank you for talking about how you let European beauty standards get to you a little bit. I think many of us needed that transparency because we look to you for inspiration and confidence, but at the end of the day you get a little insecure yourself and that's ok! At the end of the day natural hair, wig, braids, bald w.e you've always been and will always be fly lbs
Girl I completely understand what you mean because I used to always get weaves with leave out 🤦🏾♀️. Sis my hair was damaged in the front and poppin in the back lol. Never again
Lady that half wig look so natural. I dead thought that was your hair❤️😍.
@2:09 I got scared because I really thought that was your real hair 😂 you fooled me
right 😂! i was like 😮, i really thought it was her natural hair it blended it in so well.
Yo😂😂😂I thought the same thing
I knew you were wearing a half wig in the last vid but i didn't know in this one. When you took it off I gasped "Why is your hair so thin? Oh wait it is braided in the back"
Same I was scared😭
Lmfaoo😂💀I just diedddd haha I’d look like dude from lord of the rings!
@@IsimemeEdeko Isi😭✋
@@IsimemeEdeko Lmao. Gollum.
IKR when I saw the front I was so shocked 😱 but then I saw the back lol
I appreciate you Isimeme for showing your truth and vulnerability to us. It helps me to relate to you and go through this natural hair journey knowing it's okay to make mistakes. But to also learn from it. This video made me feel alot better about myself, thank you.
Yes I've learned to love my natural hair along the way! I get braids and what not and then take them down once I start missing my hair!
It is SUCH a struggle, im happy you touched on this :,)
I’m not happy you ruined your hair but I’m totally happy you bouta be coming with the hair content lmao !! Don’t worry, it’s gon come back better than ever !
Oh isi you have been coming back to back with the videos!
ur hair is STILL beautiful af to me
Hey we make mistakes, all ya can do is get back on track and your hair will start to flourish again!!!🙂🙂🙂🙂
This was a great video sis. Patience is such a HUGE part of having natural hair.
that video made me realized my hair was damaged, i cut off about 3/4 - 1.5 inches of raggedy ends and my twists lookin cuter than ever, thanks!!
also, idk if u have a protein treatment, but green beauty has just a whole bottle of protein that you can mix with other conditioners to make them protein treatments
I love how transparent Isi be!! We can’t help but to compare what we see on social media. I can only imagine given you’re in the industry
Your honesty is refreshing. I appreciate how you didn't make excuses or try to blame anyone else. :-)
you should try the curl smith bond curl salve ! it’s really great at reviving curls and definition ! it’s basically a protein treatment, highly recommend ♥️.
I absolutely LOOOOVE this product
YESSS WITH THE VERSACE ROB 🔥😍😍😍
No worries Isi, we have all been through damaging stage. You got this lady!
I believe that how you naturally are is beautiful just the way it is✨
Yes! Natural hair is not the problem, people are.
I noticed that it was darker two when Isi's hair was healthier.
I love how you know your hair & your journey so well. I literally want to work into that for myself.
The thing that is so tricky about heat damaged natural hair your hair only ends up looking good/normal when it’s straight when it’s in that damaged state it don’t look good natural anymore and that’s what I’m goin thru Rn 😓 don’t worry we gon get thru this 💗
Isiiiii we need this natural wig tutorial! Please we are on our kneeeeeesss🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
You’re so relatable everything you said from the comparing, the neglecting and becoming a woman etc... it has been heavy on my mind. I was just talking to my best friend & telling her that I wanted to step back from social media and be more in tune of who I am called to be and focus on being a woman inside & out!.. Caring for your mental as well as physical well being is sooooo important ladies!! It’s so easy to forget that while getting caught up in the media’s idea of what that looks like !! 😭😩 I love your late night sessions ! It reminds me that I’m not alone ❤️ I know with patience and respect for our journeys we will reach our goals !! It’s so easy to neglect the very thing that matters while being distracted by the the things that don’t!.....God bless everyone !! 🙏🏽❤️
I appreciate Isi soo much for being vulnerable on camera about social media influencing her cause thats really most girls daily struggle #lnvs
You are developing Isi and you are so beautiful, you deserve all of your blessings coming your way! You’re such an inspiration to me. I love you, stay amazing, and your unapologetic self!♥️
I clicked on this so fast! HEY GIRL, HEY!
Same
Your hair still looks great but you could try olaplex since it’s supposed to repair broken bonds in the hair.
This is a great suggestion
This is the sign I needed to take care of my natural hair, thank you✨
Don’t beat yourself up. You are very successful at a young age and don’t feel like you have to be anything other than what you want to be. And if you like your hair straight every now and then roll with the punches and trim when necessary. You are your own worst critic and will be at 1 million followers soon.
Wow Isi, we’re on the same boat. I was the exact same way with flat ironing and getting lazy in the last few months so I’ll definitely be watching to see your journey and how you revive your curls!
I love your aesthetic 🖤🖤🖤 a natural queen always wins!
i’m happy to see that isi got her robe cause i remember when josh went shopping with ken and had looked for it while they were on vacation 😅
What’s up with the consistency 👏🏿I see you sis!
I love your honesty and transparency 💖
Ughh I’m so glad you talked about this cause the same thing happened to me !! I’m coming back to reality about my hair & cherishing the beauty of it !
I just love how transparent you are Isi ❤️
It’s gonna come back and it will get better, I’ve seen your hair journey video and your hair from that video had the best transition I’ve ever seen🙌🏾❤️❤️
Yes I love that! Minor set back, for a major come back!!!💪🏾
Period👏🏾
I can't be the only one that was mesmerized by Isi's nails.. my eyes just kept following them 😍😂😂 #LNVS
Hey girlie your going to get your hair back!!! The protein treatments, deep conditioning treatments, and wigs should work!! I did all of those things when I realized I had some heat damage from wearing sew ins a while back. I did all of things except im a braid girl so I wore my braids. I got mostly my curls back without having to do any major chopping other than my ends. You’ve got this girl!!! 💕💕. Also do you mind doing a video on your wigs. I’m try to get my wig season pass but girl I struggling on where to start applying a wig ❤️❤️❤️.
I totally agree that it's confusing as we doubt all our ideals and moves thinking we may be trying to get in line with what we see from society vs what we actually feel. It's hard to distinguish but it's so refreshing to hear you saying the same thing!
You know what’s crazy like you compare yourself to others but I compare myself to you. Like I want to grow up and be more like you and you inspire me to dress better and take care of my hair! I love you and will be on this journey with u ❤️
Take them out the next day and there you go
Trichologists banned me from braids so no unnecessary blow outs for me!!
@@marleyhill34 banned from braids? Do you mind if I ask why?
@@kayyy2264 I have ultra-fine hair. Braids cause my strands to rub together excessively and the friction causes micro-fractures all along my hair shaft. They showed me with the trichoscope.
@@marleyhill34 oh wow😩 so what styles do you do?
@@kayyy2264 twists, flat twists, 2 or 3 loose French braids. Once or twice a month: wigs, clip ins, hair pieces. So no more cornrows or box braids or crochets for me.
Your hair is SO BEAUTIFUL!! It's unique! It beats ANY straight hairstyles out there! Nurse it back to health and wear it B-I-G! You've got this!
Sis you should try the maximum hydration method and see what that does
my heart just skipped a beat. but girl, you're going to get through this. :)
More #LNVS for sure!! I loved how transparent and honest you were throughout this whole video. You seem like such a genuine person and that's one thing that draws me to your channel the most! Girl I'm going through the same thing right now so don't even feel bad. I'm blaming Ms. Rona...quarantine ruined us bc we didn't have anything else to do but put heat on our hair lol! My natural hair was finally FLOURISHING (not as much as yours let's be honest) and I got some heat damage in the back 🥺😭so I FELT you on this one for sure! Girl I called my mom crying and everything 😂thankfully it wasn't my entire head but it was heart breaking for sure. We will definitely get through this together girl!! Love you and can't wait to see us go up from here!
For your candidness, thank you. Yes, love up on your beautiful natural hair. Bless Up. ❤️
I was in awe 😧 when she snatched that hair off like whaaaaaat thaaaaaa!!!! I thought it was her hair! Even in the “Tik Tok reaction” vid. I heard her say “wig” once but I wasn’t trippin and didn’t rewind but she had one then too 😞 I have to go watch the other vid now when she talks about her natural hair.
I am just loving Isimeme 2.0 I am excited for the hair content again because I am starting my natural hair journey after having a low cut for over 2 years. 💜💜💜💜💓💓💓
IF IT IS NOT A BLESSING THEN IT IS A LESSON , you said it girl preach
I need your skincare routine!!! I love your hair but your skin is amazing !!👍🏾
Isi, you are definitely on the right track! Find your own style! I've noted that less is more!!
When you look in the mirror you should see isi (see yourself)and not 100 other instragram women.
My biggest fear is to mess up my hair.. 😭😞
That's why I don't do protein treatments, I've heard horror stories from those 😬
Lnvs, thanks for sharing your story, I’m just 15 and I want my hair to be as healthy as possible as well. You have definitely made me think and look at my hair on another level. 😙 thanks
it’s the cam quality for me😍😍
Yessss
Wait no live this time... but I'm here Love you Isi look at her looking like a queen that robe damm beautiful the aesthetics I thrive to have one day you giving us luxury!
Edit: I know you're sad and maybe even disappointed over your hair but it will eventually get back to thriving just be patience don't be so hard on yourself everyone goes through some bad periods in anything in live but it will get better you're still beautiful no matter what❤
Keep striving Sis, all things will turn in your favor💜
Omg when u took that hair piece off i almost fainted. I thought that was yr real hair. But thank God for products. Itll be back healthy in no time
I am literally learning this lesson at the same time as you.
Sis it's the skin for me you are just naturally beautiful 🥰
Protein treatments are not my friend. I know everybody is different....So, just be careful with those, sis.
Girl I clicked so fast. Sending you love and wishing you the best
Honestly Isi I still admire your hair a lot. my hair is stuck at shoulder length and my mom never taught me how to take care of my natural hair so it’s been an expensive journey. ❤️❤️
