The tweet about people liking curly hair is very accurate. If y'all notice almost all type 4 hair content is about getting a looser textured look type 4 hair(4c especially) is hardly ever appreciated if it's not stretched and defined.

Right and to be honest, I see alot of lighterskin women with the looser hair textures get praised and represented the most even in the type 4/natural community hashtags (who aren't even type 4 😒). Colorism and Texturism very much run the natural hair community in my opinion.
You've noticed that too right. Like we celebrate curly hair when the movement was made to celebrate kinks and coils. There's nothing wrong with curly hair but kinky hair is what most black people have. And looser curls were always put above our hair and ours was talked down upon. So to see type 4 girls only liking their hair when it's in this "wash n' go" state and never liking it any other way it's disappointing. 😔
I think what happens is most natural hair women look at the type 3 and up hair and want that more then the hair on their head.
The amount of natural hair girls with long natural hair on tiktok is a litterally the dream that 12 year me needed back in the day.

Easy way to do a fro:
1. Wet hair
2. Add moisturizer
3. Detangle
4. Do twists or braids
5. Wrap and sleep
6. Wake up and take out each section
7. Use pick from end to root on one section at a time
8. Fluff it, and, if it looks uneven; spritz with a little water so it shrinks a little

@@marleycymon3512 yah totally! My 4c hair isn’t exactly extra thick though so I do have to shrink it down with a little more water so it isn’t “see through”. But for the most part, I think this method works really well in getting to be voluminous. This is the tutorial I used to have an idea of where to go

I don't get the obsession with length honestly. Natural hair is still beautiful when short.🤷🏽♀️ Also it's never worth it to compare and be insecure. It really doesn't benefit us. I agree. I believe that’s also why shrinkage gets so much hate and try to be fought against all the time. It’s what our hair do. It shrinks and that’s 100% normal and okay.

Curl pattern doesn't have anything to do with dry time. It's density and porosity. Type 3 girls can have dense hair that dries slow.

Heat isn’t the enemy we think it is. The lack of knowledge on how to use heat and the state of your hair is. Most ppl put heat on hair that is already unhealthy( in various ways) therefore adding heat doesn’t help. Me too I used to have my hair up to my asscrack and then I dyed it, then I slaughtered it by straightening it after every shower.
But I started again my hair is getting thicker and it’s almost up to my waist. By using different oils Iike macadamian oil, coconut oil etc and onion hair masks/ avocado hair mask and leaving it in two braids before I go to sleep. I’ll get my natural healthy hair back by the end of this year. I WILLLLLL🥰🥰🥰🥰

I have 4C hair and I usually allow my hair to hair dry in about 6-8 braids. I do it while it's wet and then allow it to dry for a full day and my hair is stretched. I rarely use heat on my hair

I like the band stretching method. I prefer to do it on two strand twists that are like 70% dry. Hit my roots with the blow dryer to make sure they don’t stay damp for days
