I'm with you on that and it's not even close. They had some killer tunes on their later albums but as a whole they don't compare. Mostly, I think it's the sound of Mick Mars' guitar for me.
They were not a "hair/glam" band until Theater of Pain. Girls, Girls Girls is another one but at least is had a little effort. They got some legitimacy back with Dr. Feelgood, but it still wasn't hungry and raw like the first two. You can't go back...
The Crue was absolutely without a doubt my very favorite band of the 80s. I knew all of their songs by heart, because I wore out the Shout At the Devil album.
Glad you love it Rob Squad! This is actually the 4th song reaction from the Shout At the Devil album: Shout at the Devil, Looks That Kill, Knock Em Dead Kid and Too Young To Fall In Love. It IS a darker sound than their other albums.
Helter Skelter is Motley Crue's cover of a Beatles song, on the Shout at the Devil album. The original is considered the very beginning of harder rock/heavy metal in the 60s, so having Motley Crue take it to 80s rock is just perfect. You guys would love it, it totally rocks out.
The first time I saw this video I was 13, and I just thought they were the coolest guys I've ever seen and I was totally hooked on them and their music.
Love this song, every song on their first two albums are great. Too fast for Love & Shout At The Devil are way tougher and dark than their later albums.
I grew up in the 80"s with this music. Motley Crue was not my favorite metal band, that would be Cinderella, but Mick Mars was my favorite guitarist. Good call on the guitar Amber.
Yesssssssss! My all time favourite Crüe song. The drums, the guitar, the whole vibe. Such a great song 😍 So pleased you’ve listened to this one. Would recommend anything from the Too Fast For Love album, Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away), Tonight (We Need A Lover) and Red Hot.
Mick Mars under rated guitarist. "Shout At The Devil" album was Motley's first world tour. They opened for Ozzy.Craziest stories you could ever hear from that tour.Ozzy sniffed a line of ants
Man, I feel like Jay would be happy to react to '80s metal all day every day. The way he totally lights up at these tunes, you can tell this is the sh*t he lives for. This particular Crue song is an absolute banger from an album that's stacked with them. Great reaction, guys!
Such a good band and great energy. They're so good. I do suggest "Live Wire" "Primal Scream" "Looks That Kill" "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)" "Saints Of Los Angeles" "You're All I Need" "Knock 'Em Dead, Kid"
CLASSIC CRUE! Nothing better! SHOUT AT THE DEVIL was a killer album from start to finish and this song, along with the title song, "Too Young To Fall in Love", "Looks That Kill" and others made this album one of the best for that genre and era of music.
This song always reminds me of my BFF back in the 80s. Oh the good old days lol we went to see these guys when we were 17 it was a hell of a time…I hope you’re out there, Carrie living well and rocking on✨💚🤘🏼 you guys need to do their famous power ballad Home Sweet Home next you won’t be disappointed!
Mick Mars is an underrated guitarist. He doesn't get the respect he deserves. Im glad he left the band. He'd do better on his own, despite his health problems. Mick Mars was MOTLEY CRUE .
I remember listening to this album in the living room with my headset on in dark, while everyone else were in the family room listening to TV. Good times.
They will always be the Kings of Metal! I don't think Mick Mars ever got the credit he deserved as a guitarist due to the fact that Motley Crue was going for a more basic street vibe, and there were so many other flashy, technical guitar wizards at the time that took all the spotlight. Awesome band!
As the hair metal craze of the mid 80's began to hit it's peak, Motley Crue was right there riding that wave front and center. "Shout At The Devil" was an essential heavy metal album from those days, and Crue going on tour with Ozzy Osbourne around that time only solidified their street cred as headbangers...
Good Pick guys! Too young to fall in love by the Crue is one of my favorite songs by them. You need to listen to Helter-Skelter which is a Beatles cover song. Motley Crue's version of Helter-Skelter will leave you guys shook! But you have to listen to the Instrumental medley God Bless the Children of the Beast that precedes Helter-Skelter first. You guys will enjoy both songs immensely. Both God bless the children of the beast and Helter-Skelter are from the Shout at the Devil Album too.
An awesome song from the Dr Feelgood album that you'll both love. (Feel good song. PUn intended) IS "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away). The video is fun.
First two crue albums are masterpieces. Everything about that era of crue, the songs, the image, the tour, it was all perfect. The other albums are ok, but early crue '82 to 84 was pure greatness.
THE BEST OF THE SHOUT AT THE DEVIL ALBUM YESSSS I love this song, it’s such a nice beat, riff, beat, everything…… even Vince’s vocals Smth that always gets me is how Tommy is the youngest, and he’s 21 here but the tallest of them all by far (especially with heels) and how Mick is the oldest of them all and shortest
It's been decades since I watched this video. It's pretty dark if you look at it. They are taking a runaway off the street and turning her into a concubine for the top gun of the house.
The headband head guitarist is name is Michael Mars the bassist is named Nikki, Sixx, and the drummer is named Tommy Lee fence. The lead vocalist is name is Vince I forget his last name.
Yes, this album does explore the dark side of life, especially street life. Check out songs like Bastard, Knock`Em Dead Kid, Danger, and the high-tempo adrenaline pumper, Red Hot.
for a long time I was certain this was my favorite MC song (but then came "all in the name of" "kickstart my heart", "dr feelgood" "rattlesnake shake" "power to the music in the streets" and I couldn't make up my mind any more)
Just subscribed! Love your channel! Motley Crue has been my all time fav hair metal 80's rock band since I was a teenager! I'm now in my 50's. Yes, yes, yes the guitar is awesome 🎸 Mick Mars is one of my favorite guitarists ever and he is sooooo underrated! I also agree with you guys about the Crue's songs have that cool groove...I think alot of that is because Tommy Lee is one badass drummer! He's one of my fav drummer's of all time as well! Cool channel, glad I found ya guys!
This came out when I was in the 6th grade. We took a school trip to Albuquerque NM and we listened to this over and over again on the bus. A 4 hour bus ride. 🤘🤘🤘❤️❤️
Please do Vienna by Billy Joel. My daughter recently discovered this song for herself when she started college. It’s now a song we listen to together and we both get teary eyed.
Great choice. "Vienna" is one of my favourite Billy Joel songs. It was featured on an episode of "Taxi" and that is when I became to "The Stranger" as Billy Joel's best album at the time. 😊
Their first two albums will always be my favorites.❤
I'm with you on that and it's not even close. They had some killer tunes on their later albums but as a whole they don't compare. Mostly, I think it's the sound of Mick Mars' guitar for me.
They were not a "hair/glam" band until Theater of Pain. Girls, Girls Girls is another one but at least is had a little effort. They got some legitimacy back with Dr. Feelgood, but it still wasn't hungry and raw like the first two. You can't go back...
I liked Theatre of Pain too.underrated album
Too Fast for Love was just so raw. It sounds like it was recorded in a garage. Love it. 🤘🔥
They stayed true to themselves for the first two albums. Sold out to the label after that
Ahhhhh, my 80's teenage years! The music was great and the fun was nonstop!🤘
I'm there with ya! Born in 74 and grew up with this! 80s rock was ROCK!!! Best music ever!
YEAH, born in 68, teenager throughout the 80's we were truly lucky to be young in this era, today's youth are being cheated big time.
I wish I could go back 😢. This adulting crap is for the birds
Damn straight 🤘🤘🤘
EVERYBODY in 83 I knew/hung out with seemed to have this album !
Mick Mars is maybe the most under-talked about guitarist in the world when it comes to the greats. He was always the driving force behind them. 🤘🤘
YES - Mick Mars KILLED it on Guitar!!! Hard and Raw - so awesome!!
I STUCK WITH MICK ❤
Shout At The Devil should be in the Library Of Congress. Every song on that album kills! Red Hot, 10 Seconds To Love, Danger, all of it!
You ain't joking. 40 years on and it's still tight, edgy and potent. Put down that top and turn it all the way up!
There were definitely lots of tops down at Motley Crue concerts.
"KNOCK 'EM DEAD KID"!🤘🏼
@@adnap Dude you ain't lying!
Yeah, but that video was dumb as hell!
this album put motley crue on the map back in 1983,🤘🤘🤘
All right my babies... I'm so glad I seen this band a few times ‼️ 80s hair metal is still crushing it ‼️💯🔥🎼🎶🎤🥁🎸🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
The Crue was absolutely without a doubt my very favorite band of the 80s.
Nailed it......

This is why I am so glad that I grew up in the 80's!!! We had so much great music!!!
The first time I saw this video I was 13, and I just thought they were the coolest guys I've ever seen and I was totally hooked on them and their music.
They are soooo young in this song but you see the greatness in these kids. They ruled the rock n roll world .
Next up for Motley Crue, hopefully, will be "Helter Skelter". It's a cover ofva Beatles song, but it totally rips, Crue style!
🤘😎
Love this song, every song on their first two albums are great.
Too fast for Love & Shout At The Devil are way tougher and dark than their later albums.
This is some of the best guitar work that you'll ever hear. I think even Mick Mars said that this was his favorite song from the band.
I grew up in the 80"s with this music. Motley Crue was not my favorite metal band, that would be Cinderella, but Mick Mars was my favorite guitarist. Good call on the guitar Amber.
They're so good! You should revisit a band called Quiet Riot. Check out their song, "Slick Black Cadillac." Long Live Hair Metal! 💯❤️💪🔥🔥🎸
That intro is so fire!!
Yeah, this is still my favorite Motley Crue song. It's just so raw and so good! ❤
Mick Mars under rated guitarist. "Shout At The Devil" album was Motley's first world tour. They opened for Ozzy.Craziest stories you could ever hear from that tour.Ozzy sniffed a line of ants
Mick Mars on guitar had a big part of the Motley Crüe success but often he was not talked about as much the other guys in the band
Damn….y’all hitting the right notes today. Awesome song & album….try reacting to “10 Seconds To Love” 🤘🏽❤️🔥🤘🏽❤️🔥
Only complaint with that song is it's not longer. GREAT song !!
@@josephvoytus3694 yup….they’re songs are usually 3-4 minutes….no muss…no fuss 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
This was my Junior year in Hi Skool! As great as this album is their first album Too Fast For Love is even better ✌💖☮
I absolutely had this album on 8-track...thank you Columbia House, you can keep that penny.
There you are! This is Columbia House collections; considering the interest and penalties, you owe us about tree fiddy.
🤣
This is peak Motley Crue. They were never this good again.
Yup. This is it. To we, the children of the 60/70,s cusp years, these guys defined our teenage life. I dig. Great reaction you two
Their best song. Nice. Best line " You say our love is like dynamite it's no surprise, you've got one way eyes".
My mom's yelling ,TURN IT DOWN! Lol
Their first album is my favorite still. Raw sounding. Pure rock! Recorded on a budget! 🤘🏼👍🏼
Live wire lol
You guys did 4 from "Shout at the devil"
1 Looks that kill
2 Too young to fall in love
3 Knock Em dead kid
4 Shout at the devil
Amber & Jay, here are some other great Motley Crue songs to react to: "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)", and "Without You".
Totally "Don't Go Away Mad"!!!
Don't Go Away is not played enough on radio.
Motley Crue established 1981; in concert in Australia tonight! (with Def Leppard). Now, that's staying power people
Except Vince sounds horrid!
Man, I feel like Jay would be happy to react to '80s metal all day every day. The way he totally lights up at these tunes, you can tell this is the sh*t he lives for. This particular Crue song is an absolute banger from an album that's stacked with them. Great reaction, guys!
Listen at the master Mick Mars tearing those strings up on his electric guitar.
This is top 5 CRUE!!!! Check out Primal Scream next!!🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻
Jay will love the drums and guitar on that.
This song hit me hard when I was 12. This whole album was awesome!
Motley Crue- on with the show
Seen Motley six times live. Check out their FIRST Album. " Too Fast for Love" is a BANGER.
CLASSIC CRUE! Nothing better! SHOUT AT THE DEVIL was a killer album from start to finish and this song, along with the title song, "Too Young To Fall in Love", "Looks That Kill" and others made this album one of the best for that genre and era of music.
Discovered them and this song not long after I arrived in Germany for the Army. Glad you enjoyed the pic of me on Twitter, during that time.
Still remember listening to this when it came out as I walked my paper route with my Walkman.... Favorite band for several years...
I bought a "Shout At The Devil" back in the day. Also had this on their Motley movie on VHS. They were too cool. Thanks guys.
And never forget people …if Nikki Sixx can make it through 1983 and 1987, you can make it through anything!
Good Old Fashioned Hard Rock!! Love It!! More Motley Crue You Guys! Thanks! :)
The drums n guitar create a great groove
This song was untouchable when it came out. Everyone loved it
Smokin in the boys room is another underrated banger by the Crue 🤘🤘
I feel lucky to have been a teenager in the 80’s, can anybody say today’s music will still sound awesome in 40 years?
You still gotta do the video from the first album! Live wire is the song and they literally set Nikki's legs on fire!
Glad to see that you're getting into their debut material. That record was a hit. I had it on vinyl the first week it was out. 💥🔥💥🔥✨✨✨
Awesome song! Frontman Vince Neal Bass Nikki Sixx Drums Tommy Lee and my fave Lead guitar Mick Mars
A great classic from my mid twenties.!!👍👍🤘🤘
I remember listening to this album in the living room with my headset on in dark, while everyone else were in the family room listening to TV. Good times.
This is easily one of my favorite Motley Crue songs
Just one of my all time favorite songs from Crue!!!!
That opening/chorus riff is one of the best in their whole catalog.
They will always be the Kings of Metal! I don't think Mick Mars ever got the credit he deserved as a guitarist due to the fact that Motley Crue was going for a more basic street vibe, and there were so many other flashy, technical guitar wizards at the time that took all the spotlight. Awesome band!
Yes! CRUE from the 80’s ❤
NICE!!!! Always happy to see you two rock it out!! My high school years!!
This was My Theme Song When I Was Young, Great song from back then.
The girl towards the end of the video with the marks painted on her cheeks is Sally Cato from the band Smashed Gladys
Love it!
Try their song “ten seconds to love” live in concert
Seen them in concert just last month. They still rock. The song Don't go away mad just go away is a song you really need to listen to.
OMG FINALLY, one of their best songs

To the moon and back - savage garden
In your room - depeche mode
Love Thieves - depeche mode
Crue Crue Crue 🤘🤘🤘
An awesome song from the Dr Feelgood album that you'll both love. (Feel good song. PUn intended)
IS "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away). The video is fun.
We were huge Motley Crue fans , 80’s were rocking, it was awesome😊
First two crue albums are masterpieces. Everything about that era of crue, the songs, the image, the tour, it was all perfect. The other albums are ok, but early crue '82 to 84 was pure greatness.
That rhythm guitar riff is just so groovy.
THE BEST OF THE SHOUT AT THE DEVIL ALBUM YESSSS
I love this song, it’s such a nice beat, riff, beat, everything…… even Vince’s vocals

Too fast for love is from the 1st album. I saw them with KISS in San Francisco in 81or 82
I still have this on album!! "Helter Skelter" is another banger off this album.
Great song/Silly 80's video.
One of my favorite groups
ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shout at the devil was the album that made them huge. They started getting progressively more popish after this one.
early Crue = best Crue
The headband head guitarist is name is Michael Mars the bassist is named Nikki, Sixx, and the drummer is named Tommy Lee fence. The lead vocalist is name is Vince I forget his last name.
Neil
Time for more Queensryche kids 🙏😇
Yes, this album does explore the dark side of life, especially street life. Check out songs like Bastard, Knock`Em Dead Kid, Danger, and the high-tempo adrenaline pumper, Red Hot.

Shout At The Devil will forever be their best album!
By far my favorite crue album. One of my first cassettes.
Motly Crue are a Bunch of Musician guys' who were young and Wild and to settle down like Young Rockers Should Be🤟🤟🤟
Just subscribed! Love your channel! Motley Crue has been my all time fav hair metal 80's rock band since I was a teenager! I'm now in my 50's. Cannot wait until you both revidit Dokken and tavkle this super heavy hitter LIGHTNING STRIKES AGAIN.
Great song from a great, classic album! God Bless The Children Of The Beast/HelterSkelter is a Must hear!!!
This came out when I was in the 6th grade. We took a school trip to Albuquerque NM and we listened to this over and over again on the bus. A 4 hour bus ride. 🤘🤘🤘❤️❤️
Finally! My favorite song by the Crüe.

my favorite song by them. so glad you got to it. keep up the trip.🤘🏼💓
YES!! This and Looks That Kill are my favorite!
If you wanna do another from this album do '10 seconds to love'.
