Kudos to Judas Priest! They are FINALLY getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year after people rallied for it for years. They deserve it. Rob Halford is one of the greatest Heavy Metal vocalist of all time.

HELL YEAH. Hands down, my favorite Judas Priest song. Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing KILL it on guitar, and Rob Halford's voice hits like a sledgehammer. This came out when I was 13 and yes I cranked it to 11 every time it came on (but had to turn it down seconds later because, you know, parents). Painkiller was 1990, they worked hard to rid themselves of the hairmetal image they had gotten from the Turbo album in 86. Plus, the era called for heavier stuff. Painkiller was the heaviest thing they EVER did, and they totally redeemed themselves. This song is from 1982 and one of their better albums. They've been doing albums 1974 to present. My personal fave is either Sad Wings of Destiny from 76 or Stained Class from 78 with Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith as contenders. Brings me right back to HS and getting pumped up for a football game. I love it that Amber is getting into this song. "Turbo Lover", "Breaking The Law", "Living After Midnight", "Screaming For Vengeance", and "The Helion/Electric Eye" are other great songs by Priest.
Lead by Rob Halford on those screeching vocals and Glen Tipton and K.K. Downing changing leads on guitars giving that hard driving sound that is the very heart of HEAVY METAL!
Love it! My brother was SUUUCH a Priest fan growing up, so I heard this and so many other songs blasting for years! And to see Amber rocking out to this (and Alice Cooper, who my brother was also a huge fan of-- the other day,) esp. knowing how different her reaction would've been a year ago, and the evolution of her music appreciation, is just one of the coolest things ever!!!
Another uk band that is really good is Saxon, they are somewhat similar to Judas Priest and I would recommend for you guys to listen to "Wheels of Steel" or you could even to one of their newer hits called "Carpe Diem (Seize the Day)". The singer of the band is Biff Byford and he is an amazing singer, even in their newer hit that was released this year he can still hit high vocals.
Great call Saxon have bee around for over 40 years and have nearly 25 studio albums so they have plenty to choose from - I recommend Crusader, Dallas 1pm and Battering Ram and of course Wheels of Steel.
This was a big one for Judas Priest. This era (early - mid 80s) was when they were in their prime. Songs like this one, Breaking The Law, Headed Out To The Highway, Living After Midnight, they all were awesome.
Hey Amber I would LOVE for you to give Metallica another chance. They did 2 concerts (20 years apart) with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and I really think you would like the combination! Give "No Leaf Clover" a try. As a woman who has listened to metal my whole life, I think we need more women metalheads!!
S&M! Yes! So powerful with the strings. Those are my favorite albums. It's kind of funny that I'm not a huge fan of classical music, but LOVE when they add it to other types of music.
For the next Judas Priest I'd recommend 'The Hellion/Electric Eye'. And please don't bypass 'Rapid Fire' and 'Metal Gods', meant to be heard back to back.
Judas Priest - firstly formed in 1969, but almost all 70's they had many lineup changes and then, boom, in 1978 Killing Machine LP made them worldwide famous. In 80's they are "gods of metal" with many classic heavy metal songs. And they still active - the last LP „Firepower” was released in 2018.
This track was released in the 80s but the band was formed in the 70s. They released a great album called 'Painkiller' which you heard the title track, I would also recommend 'Touch of Evil' & 'Nightcrawler' from that album. Must also check out 'Breaking the Law' that was the first track I heard from these guys. Happy Rocking Y'all
The group formed In Birmingham, England in 1969. I have been a fan of theirs since the mid to late 1970's. I got to see them in concert in the late 1980's, Mega Death opened for them! It was a great concert! I think myself and two of my friends were the only ones in the 12,000 seat arena that were dressed in business suits and had short hair!
Absolutely adored the comments about leather being tough, and leaning into the guitar player… because at the time, we thought the same. Later we would learn/realize/connect-the-dots of Rob Halford being a leather daddy. Love Priest and Halford (his solo project).
Thank you so much for giving them another look, they truly deserve it. I really enjoy your reactions.Judas Priest originated in 1969 with a different lead singer. Ian Hill the base player is the only original member. Rob Halford joined in 73, i think he only 23 or 24 yrs. old Rob Halford is the Metal God, best vocals hands down

This is their best song. I suggest give a listen to Living After Midnight. That's a rocking song also.
I saw Judas Priest open for Led Zeppelin.. now THAT was a SHOW.
70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's, 20's!!!!! Finally getting their recognition in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!
I remember seeing their Turbo tour where Bon Jovi opened for them...Priest owned the stage like no one else could back then
Loved seeing them in concert in the mid-80xs! Badass!
the 80's my dear, the 80's! Best music ever, will never come back,
Another uk band that is really good is Saxon, they are somewhat similar to Judas Priest and I would recommend for you guys to listen to "Wheels of Steel" or you could even to one of their newer hits called "Carpe Diem (Seize the Day)".
One of the greatest metal bands of all time.
For the next Judas Priest I'd recommend 'The Hellion/Electric Eye'. And please don't bypass 'Rapid Fire' and 'Metal Gods', meant to be heard back to back.
When you use the term “banger” there isn’t a better example than this right here! YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Well it is about time, lol... This is "Priest". Painkiller is not where you should have started.
Thank you for doing this song. Best Judas Priest ever. Rock on!
When your in your late teens and twenties this song would get you so pumped!!!
Think I'm going to run that by one more time.
my favorite metal vocalist of all time! he also has some rocking christmas tunes...
Happy Rocking Y'all
I saw Judas Priest and UFO in 1979 at UTA Arlington, TX. Tiny venue and they absolutely blew our eardrums out. Great show.
The 80s rocked! Groups really made music and played it HARD!!!
70's , 80's. This song was early 80's on the Screaming for Vengeance album. Great rock!
This is MY JOINT!!!!! There's a GROOVE underneath this.
Judas Priest's
Headin out to the Highway
You'll love it!!
Best concert I’ve ever been to. Opened by Uriah Heep so just epic.
This is hands down one of my favorite songs by Judas Priest. Its the song that made me explore other songs by them.
One of THE Royal Bands of Heavy Metal - Without a Doubt!
It's been one of my favorite songs since it came out
Ahhh my all-time favorite song from my all-time favorite band ! Thank you !
Rob Halford joined in 73, i think he only 23 or 24 yrs. old Rob Halford is the Metal God, best vocals hands down
They are now being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s about damn time! Listen to the rest of Screaming for Vengeance album. Judas Priest is from the 1970s and 1980s primarily but they are still active today.
I love judas priest! Great in concert!
Great band. Saw them very regularly right from the start in the 70's & 80's as they are from within 70 miles of my home town. Sell out every time in a smallish venue (capacity only 700).
My favorite priest song is beyond the realms of death. You won't be disappointed.
It's about time. Halford is my favorite vocalist.
