Kudos to Judas Priest! They are FINALLY getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year after people rallied for it for years. They deserve it. Rob Halford is one of the greatest Heavy Metal vocalist of all time.
I just saw them this year and I was dead set that there were backing vocals because he still hit those high notes. I was wrong. He walked around the stage looking like an old man but he can still sing better than 90% of the rockers I hear.

"Living after midnight", "breakin the law", "the green manalishi", "screaming for vengeance", "the hellion/electric eye", "hell beant for leather", "before the dawn", "all guns blazing", "the ripper". ALL bangers, ALL definitely worth a listen.

Breakin The Law is definitely a song you guys have to listen to. It has the toughness that this song has and it arguably is even more tough and has more of a "pump you up" aspect than You've Got Another Thing Comin'

I will never forget my 1st experience with Metal. At 14 yrs old I went to a Priest concert in 1982 on their Screaming for Vengeance tour which is the one this song released. The concert started with the sound of a Harley reving up super loud and then Halford riding it onto stage to begin. Been a fan since but that album is still my favorite.
Painkiller was 1990, they worked hard to rid themselves of the hairmetal image they had gotten from the Turbo album in 86. Plus, the era called for heavier stuff. Painkiller was the heaviest thing they EVER did, and they totally redeemed themselves. This song is from 1982 and one of their better albums. They've been doing albums 1974 to present. My personal fave is either Sad Wings of Destiny from 76 or Stained Class from 78 with Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith as contenders. There was no "kerfuffle" when Rob came out. Some mild shock or surprise maybe then after thinking about it for just a few minutes most fans just thought, "yeah that actually explains a lot" lol, the leather the studs the whips an chains etc. Really was a non event of an announcement.

I saw these guys in Atlanta back in the 80’s. I had backstage passes and was back stage talking with members of Dokken. Next thing I know, EVERYONE goes silent. I couldn’t figure out why. Then I see all 5 guys from Judas Priest walking toward the stage. It was honestly like being in the presence of royalty. I’ll never forget how incredible it was.
Back when this first came out in 1982, I had just started High School. My musical tastes were different then and Judas Priest was to "hardcore" for me. But now I am older, wiser and have experienced so much life and I can really appreciate this awesome band! I guess I had "another thing coming!"
Brings me right back to HS and getting pumped up for a football game. I love it that Amber is getting into this song. "Turbo Lover", "Breaking The Law", "Living After Midnight", "Screaming For Vengeance", and "The Helion/Electric Eye" are other great songs by Priest.
This track was released in the 80s but the band was formed in the 70s. They released a great album called 'Painkiller' which you heard the title track, I would also recommend 'Touch of Evil' & 'Nightcrawler' from that album. Must also check out 'Breaking the Law' that was the first track I heard from these guys. Happy Rocking Y'all
Judas Priest has always been one of my favorite bands. They are the band that got my wife into metal. Just saw them for their 50th anniversary show and they still rock.
Love it! My brother was SUUUCH a Priest fan growing up, so I heard this and so many other songs blasting for years! And to see Amber rocking out to this (and Alice Cooper, who my brother was also a huge fan of-- the other day,) esp. knowing how different her reaction would've been a year ago, and the evolution of her music appreciation, is just one of the coolest things ever!!!
I was never a Priest fan but I loved metal. Some friends invited me on a van trip down to Portland(Maine) in 1991 for a Priest show. The opening band was Megadeth so I said yes. I have been a huge Judas Priest fan ever since.
So glad you are doing this one. It’s one of my favorite Judas Priest songs. It’s about getting on your grind and making things happen. Very motivational.
When Rob Halford came out it made a lot of super-masculine metalheads rethink what masculinity is and helped take everyone one more step toward excepting others different from themselves. His autobiography "Confess" is amazing.
That's the funny thing about it all now looking back , A lot of us knew he was Gay back then and he had us all wearing leather S&M gear lol , And it was perceived as so macho and tough then and even now :) .
He’s wearing leather and studs and driving around the stage on a Harley, not exactly effeminate (though totally S&M). Two was where he really laid on the mascara and makeup.
It was so funny like, three or so years ago when the woketards found out 'big bad metalhead' rob halyard was hard leather gay. Then they went all "SEE SEE SEE haa haa haa!" As if they were 'owning' clueless metalheads who were OBVIOUSLY homophobic, of course because DUH. Only for us metalheads to go. "Uh... yea we always KNEW he was gay. Where the fuck you been for goddam 40 years?who cares? He created heavy metal."
He didn't 'come out'. Retarded leftoids finally noticed what we 'super masculine' metalheads knew all along. And the proceeded to crow about it and brag as if they were somehow 'owning' us filthy toxicly male evil metalheads. No metalhead gives a flying fuck he's the hard gay. Be more of a fucking poser.
Another uk band that is really good is Saxon, they are somewhat similar to Judas Priest and I would recommend for you guys to listen to "Wheels of Steel" or you could even to one of their newer hits called "Carpe Diem (Seize the Day)". The singer of the band is Biff Byford and he is an amazing singer, even in their newer hit that was released this year he can still hit high vocals.
Great call Saxon have bee around for over 40 years and have nearly 25 studio albums so they have plenty to choose from - I recommend Crusader, Dallas 1pm and Battering Ram and of course Wheels of Steel.
My brothers friend was stationed in Germany around 1982 and he brought this album home to my brother who fell in love with this band .He use to blear this song through the house on his 2000 speakers .
Hey Amber I would LOVE for you to give Metallica another chance. They did 2 concerts (20 years apart) with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and I really think you would like the combination! Give "No Leaf Clover" a try. As a woman who has listened to metal my whole life, I think we need more women metalheads!!
S&M! Yes! So powerful with the strings. Those are my favorite albums. It's kind of funny that I'm not a huge fan of classical music, but LOVE when they add it to other types of music.
HELL YEAH!!!🤟 Got to see them in concert in the 80's as a teenager. He rode his motorcycle onto the stage. Such a tall man. I was always told that he was the godfather of metal. We need more.....! BTW, I knew you'd like this one Amber!
For the next Judas Priest I'd recommend 'The Hellion/Electric Eye'. And please don't bypass 'Rapid Fire' and 'Metal Gods', meant to be heard back to back.
@@jfn2462 Not according to the Billboard chart book. Aside from "YGATC," they list 6 Judas Priest titles in their "Classic Non-Hot 100 Songs" (songs that received radio airplay as LP tracks but either weren't released as singles or failed to chart: (1976): Victim of Changes, (1978): Beyond the Realms of Death, (1979): Hell Bent For Leather, (1980): Breaking the Law, (1980): Living After Midnight, (1990): Painkiller.
I saw Judas Priest in concert in 1982 for the Screaming For Vengeance tour & I have to say it was the loudest concert I ever went to. My ears were ringing for days after. So cool to see Rob Halford ride out on stage on his Harley.
Painkiller was released in 1990, You've Got Another Thing Comin was 1982, and Victim of Changes was 1976. Their best commercial success was in the 80's, but their early fans love their 70's material more. They are still touring now and their latest album came out in 2018! They have so many great songs to choose from, but some of my favorites are: The Hellion/Electric Eye, Delivering the Goods, Exciter, Breaking the Law, and Heading out to the Highway.
JP Top 5 band in my life since the 80's. Seen them live so many times, once front row .... this band gives you everything every night. One of my best memories as a music fan was travelling down to Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem, PA for the opening show of the Screaming For Vengeance tour. 4th row in a large gymnasium ..... I thought the place was gonna collapse. Truly metal royalty delivering the goods!
You asked about what time frame Priest was around. They started in the 1970's and are still around today. One of the guitarists left, then the second got Parkinsons, so he is semi-retired. He contributed to the last album that they released in 2018, but didn't tour with the band that year. I saw them on that tour, and Rob Halford is still amazing. He's one of my top two metal voices of all time, and unlike the other, Sebastian Bach, Rob's still got his voice. You should check out "No Surrender" or "Lightning Strikes" off of their last album to see just how much the guys still bring to the table.
Ever since I first heard them as an early adolescent at the beginning of the 80’s, Rob Halford’s voice has been touted as one of the best in rock/metal.
I grew up with these guys over here in NZ right through the 80’s and I’m still a huge fan to this day. Me and my brother travelled around 600 km’s (about 370 miles) 4 years ago to see Judas Priest and they still absolutely rocked! This song is a bit more radio friendly than the likes of Painkiller and a bit more palatable to non metal-heads. It’s from the 1982 “Screaming for Vengeance” album which is a total banger. Suggested songs for future reactions - “Delivering the Goods” “The Ripper” “Hell Bent for Leather” “Metal Gods” “Bloodstone” or if you want to see the soft side of the Priest boys try “Before the Dawn or “Dreamer/Deceiver”. Thanks for reacting to these metal legends!
Great song...awesome reaction. You can't go wrong reacting to anything on JP's Defenders of the Faith or Screaming for Vengeance, but some of my favorites are: Take These Chains Off, Love Bites, Rock Hard Ride Free, The Sentinel, Pain and Pleasure, Electric Eye, Freewheel Burning. I could basically list every song on both albums. They have great songs on other albums, too, but I feel those two albums are their best.
Judas Priest is one of the most influential metal bands of all time. They’ve inspired pretty much every band that came later and took metal in a harder, grittier direction. Especially lead singer Rob Halford has a legion of descendants. But they also wrote some really excellent pop songs back in the 80s, and this is one of them, but there are many many more. Pretty much anything off their Screaming For Vengeance album is top shelf songwriting - it’s widely regarded as their peak.
The group formed In Birmingham, England in 1969. I have been a fan of theirs since the mid to late 1970's. I got to see them in concert in the late 1980's, Mega Death opened for them! It was a great concert! I think myself and two of my friends were the only ones in the 12,000 seat arena that were dressed in business suits and had short hair!
Saw them in Houston a few years back. They were greeaaat! They played almost all their greatest. At the end they walked off and I was honked because they hadn't played this song.(Encore Time) They walked back on the stage and Rob said "Well Houston, we were about to go back to the hotel and go beddy bye to get ready for the next town. Then we realized we couldn't leave yet because YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMIIIIING!" One of the best encore lines I've ever heard. Hell, ny band never came up with anything that cool.
Great band. Saw them very regularly right from the start in the 70's & 80's as they are from within 70 miles of my home town. Sell out every time in a smallish venue (capacity only 700).

This is their best song. I suggest give a listen to Living After Midnight. That's a rocking song also.
Back when this first came out in 1982, I had just started High School. My musical tastes were different then and Judas Priest was to "hardcore" for me. But now I am older, wiser and have experienced so much life and I can really appreciate this awesome band! I guess I had "another thing coming!"
Me too but I did like this song.
truer words have never been spoken
Happy Rocking Y'all
Great song! Other great songs to come... “Living after midnight”, “Breaking the law”, “ Hell Bent for Leather” and/or “Freewheel Burning”.
Rob is so talented. He can scream, growl with such power. They are truly loud & awesome xx
I am not a Judas Priest fan, but this song ROCKS!!!!!!
I was never a Priest fan but I loved metal. Some friends invited me on a van trip down to Portland(Maine) in 1991 for a Priest show. The opening band was Megadeth so I said yes. I have been a huge Judas Priest fan ever since.
I've seen them twice and they were badass! Turbo Lover and Ram It Down! Love them!
This is MY JOINT!!!!!
That's the funny thing about it all now looking back , A lot of us knew he was Gay back then and he had us all wearing leather S&M gear lol , And it was perceived as so macho and tough then and even
now :) .
Rob is one of my gay music heroes. He's awesome
Judas Priest really was the most popular in the early to mid 80's. Awesome band!
HELL YEAH!!!🤟
Got to see them in concert in the 80's as a teenager.
I really like "Heading Out to the Highway" and "Desert Plains" from the album Point of Entry. Gets kind of overlooked but those are some good tracks.
"You've Got Another Thing Comin' " was the 1st and only single Judas Priest charted on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking @ #67 in 1982.
I'm not sure because I'm too lazy to look it up (true story), but didn't Turbo Lover chart too? I don't know....
Turbo Lover was released as a single in the UK but it DID chart on the Billboard US Album Rock Tracks chart, peaking at #44.
One of the alltime GREAT Rock songs.....!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember seeing their Turbo tour where Bon Jovi opened for them...Priest owned the stage like no one else could back then
"Victim of Changes"....Rob Halford's voice gives me chills!!!
Well it is about time, lol... This is "Priest". Painkiller is not where you should have started.
This Song as well as Breaking The Law introduced non-Metal heads to Judas Priest. A British Band that started in 1969 & still Touring.
Saw them live a few years ago he still has an incredible voice.
One of the Best Heavy Metal bands in history with many, many great songs...seen them live in the 80’s... thanks for sharing!
I saw Judas Priest open for Led Zeppelin.. now THAT was a SHOW.
I saw Judas Priest in concert in 1982 for the Screaming For Vengeance tour & I have to say it was the loudest concert I ever went to. My ears were ringing for days after. So cool to see Rob Halford ride out on stage on his Harley.
Judas preist is the best heavy metal band ever! Today's music just isn't the same. Love you guys show.keep on rocking
47 year old metal head here,😁 seeing you youngsters banging to priest put a huge smile on my face.
Just saw in concert with Queensryche. An amazing show. Judas Priest 50th Anniversary!!!
There one of best groups of all time there in the hull of fame rock and roll
I love the way she's just rocking out to this song! Another great reaction!
Thank you for doing this song. Best Judas Priest ever. Rock on!
Judas Priest put out their first album in 1974, and their most recent in 2024...still going strong and rob halford (singer) is 73 years old!🤘🎸🤘
Great song...awesome reaction.
70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's, 20's!!!!! Finally getting their recognition in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!
Ahhh my all-time favorite song from my all-time favorite band ! Thank you !
Priest still kicks it today, soo many many great songs, I like Out in the Cold, Electric Eye, Screaming for Vengeance and Living after Midnight.
Love, love, love this song! Fell in love with Judas Priest British Steel as a teenager! The guitar riffs in this song are incredible!!
I just saw them at the Power Trip festival, and Halford still has it. What an incredible show and band!
I saw Judas Priest and UFO in 1979 at UTA Arlington, TX. Tiny venue and they absolutely blew our eardrums out. Great show.
