      @@AlliantPowerMktg how long does it take after removing an injector rail to get the air out? I installed an AP injector and the truck runs great now, however it has a long crank before psi is up over 500. I have not road tested it. Just idling. I air pressure tested it after installing the injector and found no leaks.

    I was working on a 6.0 where injectors #5 and #6 were recently replaced and the truck went from running fine to an extreme hard start cold, dies while driving then no start hot. I measured icp and ipr and values are perfectly normal when cold (like not even 2 seconds of weak battery cranking and I already have 1V icp and ipr dropping well below 85%) but I never got a chance to measure them hot. I am thinking the injector seals have failed on both banks at nearly the same time because the injectors were done at the same time. Would this cause a no start hot? I am wondering if the next best test is to do a bubble test or should I still pursue icp and ipr when engine is hot? It is very difficult to start the truck sometimes takes hours of boosting the batteries, so I don't want to waste time doing a test that won't get me anywhere.

      Did you ever figure this out? Sounds exactly like the issue I am having after replacing all the injectors, stand pipes, dummy plugs, and studs 4 months ago

    • @kdmq
      @kdmq 2 роки тому

      @@jeremiahshipton9495 We ended up finding that we gotta change the FICM ended up being the 48V drops out as soon as the injectors clatter. It's bad capacitors inside the module. We have the 7 pin FICM though and it's like impossible to get so I might never get the chance to see if that fixes the issue cause the truck might just get scrapped or motor swapped. We kinda gave up on it after we found how hard it is to get the FICM.

    What is the ballpark cost for something like this. I would prefer a professional do the work but have no idea the cost.

      If you are a mechanic and understand diagnostics, it makes perfect sense. And they went in perfect order. Flow charts are always worth it. Most mechanics could have never proved this problem. Much less came up with a definite solution before disassembly

    why Take intake off for a misfire diagnosis ,all this stuff but yet to do any koeo koer self tests to give you any direction in diagnostics what a waste of time

    • @AlliantPowerMktg
      @AlliantPowerMktg  8 років тому +5

      +anthony556 Thank you for the comments and question! We do this on each of our videos/diagnostic guides. The idea is not to forget to check the basics. A plugged intake could definitely cause a starting issue. Thank you for the view.
