7443 bulb for anyone curious. Great video, made me feel like a mechanic. Got my light changed successfully (though I busted the caps, maybe needed a thinner screwdriver head)
Thanks so much for this video. Made my life so much easier. I've been putting this off for a couple weeks after buying the bulb and trying to decipher the owners manual thinking it was going to be a massive project. This video simplified everything and I was done with this "massive" project in 5 minutes.
I have a man in my house and a son that is a mechanic... Yeppers you kept me from all the whining that goes along with getting them to do something! Thank you! Less than 15 mins! (I had stopped my parts store and already picked up bulbs)
Thank you for a helpful video. I was stumped at how to access the tail light housing, everything is enclosed. I am an intermediate level car fixer, I have replaced an alternator, brake pads, bumper spacers, rocker panel, and basically the whole front end, including radiator on my 2008 Honda CR-V, but I got a little confused about this basic tail light change. Thank you for a nice a simple video to point me in the right direction, exactly what I needed. I plan to change all the lights to LED lights.
Thanks for the vid! And just a heads up for those that are interested, Sylvania now makes LED bulb replacements for these and many other interior and exterior marker bulbs. I just replaced the two map lights in my new 2017 Civic and I intent on going bonkers on the rest of them and all of them in my 2010 CRV.
Looked at video and changed both lights as one was burned out, that way maybe I won't have the other one burnout very soon too. Took about 5 minutes, good directions!
Thanks! This video gave me the confidence to just yank out the light assembly without worrying about breaking anything. And while you are at it just clean all that muck behind.
The bulb of question is a two-function one - tail light and stop light combo. The bulb has two independent filaments. 7443 bulb number. In my case, stop was burned out on both sides. I was unsure which chamber to address. The top chamber has a miniature bulb - tail light only. The next chamber has the large 7443 bub for both stop and tail. I thought they were in independent chambers, but not the base. These videos speak of "stop light out" but do not say the status of the tail light. In my case, tail light was working. Thanks for the video.
Very helpful video and thank you so much for sharing. I was afraid I was missing a screw that I missed so the tail lamp might have broken off. Turns out it was just those 3 clips you mentioned. Thanks again!
Likely Honda dealerships are paying their employees to troll and give thumbs down. It is counter-intuitive to want to watch a negatively rated video-it’s the “new” normal-thanks trolls-for staying as really ugly beings
I pried my tabs out with a screwdriver like you did and they broke. Did yours break? Not sure when I'll get around to replacing them. Also when I replaced the tail light lens assembly, one of the snap in clips came out and dropped to the ground...
What about the top mini lightbulb? I replaced both and I cannot get those to work. The lightbulb(s) that you show in this video are working fine. But the top mini bulbs are not. I just bought new ones.
Thank You. Will be replacing the same bulb this evening as the right brake light is out. Simple and well presented. Only (very minor) wish would be a couple of links to some local or online part stores where you could look up the part directly from here. As at least in S. Florida most of the time your on your own in most part stores as the personnel are useless.
Gustavo Castellon That's tricky, since prices on parts and maybe even the part itself can change depending on the supplier the parts store is getting it from,so the link may change. My advise is search the websites of the parts stores ahead of time for the part you're in need of of time. Most parts store's websites allow you to break down what you need by year make and model of whatever vehicle you have, from there all you need to do is input some basic search terms like taillight or brake light.
Strange for both of mine to go out at the same time? All 4 rear bulbs work for “tail light” function. Bottom two will not come on for braking. I was thinking maybe it’s a fuse or something else, but when I look in the manual, the charts for the 2 fuse boxes do not show anything having to do with brake/stop lights.
Thank you! Replaced the brake light on my moms car in under 10 minutes and now I’m the man she always wanted me to be.
What one bulb does to a man 😂😂💀💀🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Hahaha well done sir.
My mom wanted a daughter....
Amen!
That was too funny/ But I feel you bro🤜🏾🤛🏾 / Momma is OUR 1st passage to Manhood

Was curious, going to get one now
This is a great example of the good things about UA-cam. This video was invaluable in helping me accomplish this task.
Well done! You saved my ass for about 40$ at the dealer just changing 1 bulb. Very concise and very helpful video. Cheers!

Thank you WeekendHandymen! I had enough confidence from the video to do this in the middle of a busy AutoZone parking lot.

Thank you for making this video it made me less scared to yank the light off and I was able to change it myself for$8
thanks man, I haven't change the tail light bulbs in 3 years and I needed a refreshment course.
I was totally baffled until I watched this video. It was like a light coming on! Which, considering the circumstances, was quite appropriate!
Thanks for the video! Very helpful. I replaced the lights (4 bulbs) on both tail assemblies in less than 30 minutes.
+Kim N Tran You're welcome
This video helped me replace my whole tail light unit; thanks for such a great, concise video.
Thanks for great video! FWIW Right Side stop light bulb on my 2009 CRV was a part number 7443.

Worked like a charm. Mostly, I didn't know about the little tabs that cover up the screws. Easy 5 minute job after I watched the video.

Thanks for providing the bulb number. Now I don't have to take the assembly apart twice. Very helpful to me anyway. Thanks again!
