Little update for the people that care: Today a youtuber by the name of "Acid" was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence of 3 months and a 20.000 euro fine that he had to pay to one of the fraternity members. This is because he mentioned the fraternity member by name in one of his videos as well as his parents' restaurant, while he wasn't actually present at the hazing, even though he was the one you see asking about updates in this video. This youtuber now has a criminal record, for mentioning someone by name, while the frat members got off with community service for manslaughter. Make it make sense.

The justice system is failing big time because the fathers of the murderers are higher ups and most of them are lawyers. these games only keep working because people keep believing and investing in a system that only seeks to strip them of their humanity and transfer all their wealth to the rich in the meantime. The same old game of "the next candidate says he/she will undo all the injustices" has kept working for decades and it's time this comes to an end. It's just not true. People are fooled and taken advantage of. I am swiss but I remember the case of the belgian Marc Dutroux, who - as it turned out - abducted children for the belgian upper class, but he was the one who went to jail and the ones who "were too important" are still running around freely. It's disgusting. Nowadays somehow the public is stupid enough to believe they can buy freedom and justice from the upper class whilst centuries of warfare of peasants against the "noble" (more like low-life) clearly showed that pitchforks and ropes are the only thing that bring these people to at least regard the rest with a bit of fear, though you can never expect them to actually respect you.
The day we realize that will be the beginning of great turmoil, but ultimately will lead the world to a better place. The longer we wait, the greater the price becomes that we have to pay.

Update: These guys went unpunished because they're from elite families. They got fines of only €400,- per person and 300 hours of community service. They got no criminal record and their names were not published. Which created outrage among the Belgian public.
A youtuber (Acid2, legend btw) was also outraged and exposed some of their names anyway. He got sued by one of the still anonymous ex-members, and this week Acid got sentenced to a fine of around €20.000,- and 3 months in jail (with delay, idk what that entails, I'm no expert), and he does have a criminal record now.
A crowdfunder for Acid was started and it raised about €160.000,- in a couple days. Everything Acid may need in this process should be covered, and the remaining money is going to the Sanda Dia Foundation.
Acid has gone on record to say he'd do it again.

But they also didn't give all of the information on purpose and only said surface level things (like "The court case has begun today, next topic" or "The Reuzegommers did..." instead of using names) while the other news topics aren't that special or newsworthy.

I think protecting their names is crazy. They were all over 18 years old, correct? If you're an adult in America and you commit a crime, you're sh*t out of luck. The media will put your name and face everywhere. They only protect minors. (And, not always, it depends on how they're charged.)
On one hand, I can understand how vigilante justice can get out of hand. Mob mentality can be a very scary thing, especially when an injustice has occurred. But I don't think they deserve any privacy. When they go for job interviews, I want them to say their name and have the employer say, "Oh, you're one of the murderers. Not interested." Although, they were found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, correct? So maybe a potential employer would see that. I know that in America, you have to share your criminal record with your employer.
They took this young man's life, they should face repercussions, and paying some money and having to do community service is hardly justice. At least let society know who they are.

I feel like racism most definitely had a part in this tragedy. especially when you mentioned the video of the homeless man and the students chanting "cut your hands, the congo is ours." that's a reference to the Belgian Congo and king leopold of belgium who enslaved the congolese in his rubber mines. people were frequently punished for not meeting rubber quotas by having a hand cut off or other mutilations. the belgians enslaved the congolese in those mines until the 1960s. there are plenty of people still alive who were victims... and I imagine plenty of rich belgians who profited from it... There was a lot of backlash for the fact that you get a more severe punishment for plagiarism than manslaughter. Only a few months later, the school decided to punish them more severely.
Because the Reuzegommers come from rich families, their names have been kept out of the media. Although they have been leaked on tiktok, a big Belgian youtuber named 5 of them in a youtube video. He got a strike on his channel and is now being sued for defamation. Luckily I’ve never had to go through this, but I know many people who have (here in Sweden it’s common to have similar “rituals” for new students at high schools). I don't understand how people can do these things to another human being and then to later call them "brother". Every step of this was not only gross, but physically dangerous and could have killed any of those boys. I have heard of some much more appropriate initiation activities that include team building and bonding type of things, which should be the point of joining a group. I know they are capable of coming up with more productive and less harmful ideas than this.
It also angers me that the progeny of powerful people always get away with heinous acts all over the world. RIP Sanda. You never got to have your future, and that is heartbreaking.
Edit: Oh man it really depresses me that US racist traditions are being taken abroad like the KKK and N-word stuff. No? You don't? 99% of the time these people come from very well-off to very wealthy families. They are used to getting away with everything because they can just say "my dad" or "my mom" and threaten legal action at which point most people back off and leave them be. They bribe officials, pay off cops, do favors here and there to broaden their influence and eventually they'll reach a point where they are allowed to murder. If this is what their children are doing, imagine what the parents have done and are practicing. Would you as a parent allow your child to murder others and treat them like these frat guys did? Well, those parents do. They protect them to the point they got some guy who reported on it with their names got banned and is in highly legal trouble despite them being the criminals. To them, this is fun, the power, the control, the bloodlust. That's why they do it, because they can and know they'll get away with murdering people.

    • @pedoslayerr
      @pedoslayerr Рік тому +10

Hazing is mandatory in virtually all uni in Indonesia, because essentially you are forced to join a fraternity. Every major has its own sort of fraternity, it's usually called "himpunan mahasiswa", and it's not exclusive to only those who applied to join. Every single student that studies a major should join the fraternity of their respective major, regardless if they actually want to join or not. Usually the hazing process will take up a whole semester, and every single day the seniors will make sure to exhaust you with all sorts of dumb and pointless tasks that are also accompanied with violence (although mostly verbal). I've known a lot of friends who had their grades going downhill after that one semester of hazing. I'm currently going through it. One time i wasn't able to join the regular hazing meet up as i was in another city, the seniors told me to send them my live location in Whatsapp and to keep updating it everytime it expires. And they tell you that you have the option to leave the frat if you want to, but that's a lie. They would berate you and make sure that you really feel like an outcast if you ask them you want to leave. It's like a cult basically.

This is not where the story ends, a Flemish UA-camr named Acid2 has exposed the names of some of the most dangerous members of the fraternity including 2 members who weren’t present at the hazing but were complicit in that they told the others to not go to the hospital and to destroy as much evidence as possible. As a result the restaurant of the father of the guy who told them to not go to the hospital was bombarded with negative reviews referring to the hazing (because ironically the restaurant is a fish restaurant). All 5 exposed members and the father who owned the restaurant sued acid and today he was scented to 3 months in prison with a delay, a fine of 800€ and having to pay 20000€ in damages to the restaurant owner, meanwhile all members of the fraternity got away with community service and 400-500€ worth of damages and the 2 members who were complicit via text didn’t even receive any punishment!

I used to work both in chemistry and EMS. Drinking saltwater is far more lethal than people tend to believe. It usually depends on you body weight, because a lethal dosage of salt is roughly around .5-1 gram of salt per 1 kilogram of your weight. For example - a human weighing 60kg/132ish lbs consuming 30-60 grams/1-2ish oz of salt would be deadly.
There’s absolutely no way I’m convinced Sanda’s death was an accident if they made him drink an entire _gallon_ of salt - that’s around *3,628 grams.* There is no doubt in my mind this was something far more nefarious.
