This guy deserves everyone's respect, an incredible performer, totally unique. RIP Meat
Agree with you 💯 🔥✌🏻😎🎼
u dam right
1000 % agree .. The songs he and Steinman created were not 2 or 3 minutes like we see today.. They were over 10 minutes and some hit 14 minutes and had many verses…
Quite simply one of the greatest on stage rock and roll performers who ever stepped on a stage. Combine him and Jim Steinhem and you had lightning in a bottle
Absolutely
Meat Loaf. Patti Russo. And that blond violinist. Just, wow!
Yeah. The entire orchestra seemed to be having a blast. But, the little blond violinist really jumped into it ... in addition to being a real baby doll.
Today his family informed that Meat Loaf passed away in age of 74 last night. The world lost one of the most amazing singers and showmen. Rest in Peace - Meat Loaf - your music will live forever.
Thank you sid think pass on few hrs be mb more enlanoche, very sad loss for ALL dear family ,❤ friendz, management,ALL LOVE ONES FEEL UR SAD LOSS! ❣AMO LOVE FOREVER A TRUE LEGENDS! NEVER DIE!!!! ..........

Speechless 😥💔😆🎵🙏🏻🕊🪶🦋
RIP Meat Loaf you will be missed!! 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊 he said in that one song he’d be back. His music 🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶 lives on. We love you Meat Loaf keep on rocking 🎶🎵🕊🕊🕊🕊
Yes. His music will live on....
R.I.P Jim Steinman and thank you for the music
Ditto
I didˋnt know he passed, away. Thank you, Jim
@@htz26129 Yeah, that one slipped by me, as well. :-(
I don't always listen to Meatloaf, but when I do....so do the neighbors.
I am 82 years old. My girls played this all the time when they were younger. I loved it. I play Meatloaf so many times.
I have this philosophy Pam, that the great thing about being older now is that we were young back then! All the very best from Canada!
Not enough mentions of the absolutely spectacular vocals and showmanship Patti Russo also delivered here
One of the greatest lyricist to ever puts words to paper. None of this would have been possible without the pure genius of Jim Steinman. RIP the pair of you and thank you for hard hitting, unapologetic, badass pure Rock n Roll. You are legends and a void has forever been left in music.
Check out her performances with TSO singing After The Fall. Amazing
Perfect comment .
Patti Russo was a perfect compliment both in voice and style.
Agreed she is great
Wouldn't have been the same without Patti
"It was long ago and so far away and things were so much better than they are today" Boy, ain't that the truth.
That version gives a whole new meaning to the term "extended edition." RIP Meat.
The best version of dashboard light ever produced hands down. This song will live on forever. This man is truly the greatest showman on earth.
Just saw your comment and I agree with you 100%. That was incredible!
Agreed. The best showman.
Amen!!!WOW!!
This is my first time seeing this version. The way he set the audience up was hilarious.
Are you deaf?
Back in the day, no-one had seen or heard anything quite like it. His unique performances were full of theatre and drama, a true legend. RIP Marvin.
He made life...my life...more fun. I don't know that there will ever again be somebody who has the combination of talent, and the ability to play into a joke, laugh at yourself, like him. Godspeed.
Original style
Well, he was a Broadway star hired to sing an album that Jim Steinman had just written. So, yeah, he was unknown in the mainstream, but he was well known in theatre. He'd been appearing on Broadway for probably 8 years before bat out of hell came out .
No. And a crazy MAGA who died because he refused to get vaccinated. So we know what idiot American you are.
Nice guy too!
WHY DOESN'T THIS PERFORMANCE HAVE MILLIONS OF VIEWS??? ONE-OF-A-KIND MEAT!!!!
Losing you hurt as much as losing Freddie Mercury! So sad I never got the opportunity to see you live. What a voice, what a showman, what a talent. You're going to be sorely missed. RIP Meat Loaf
Well put bud. So sad. Just amazing performers lost to soon. I always felt Meat was the solo Queen in a way. 😊
Once or twice in a generation a spectacular talent emerges. I am lucky that in my generation we had Meatloaf, Freddie, David Bowie, Elton John Suzi Quattro, Slack Sabbath. Think we quite likely got the greatest concentration of talent. Stars that are still bigger than most of this generation's finest, Some of whom died before they were even born.
The "bat out of hell" album, is a LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENT.
An iconic masterpiece, epic and timeless
Yeah, truly just a CLASSIC of an album. :-)
Agree 100%!
Bat Out of Hell was released when I was 18. Teens of today will never experience the sheer joy of driving in your car with your guy and girl friends, with the windows rolled down, and singing this song at the top of your lungs!!! This guy provided the soundtrack of my early life. Thanks for all the driving and all the joyous singing Meatball. RIP. To the Grim Reaper I have only one thing to say...."Stop Right There!"
first 8 track I ever owned! Literally played it a 1000 times in my Van! Thank You Meatloaf!! It was long ago and far away but it was so much better than it is today!
Saw Meatloaf perform “Paradise By The Dashboard Light” on the BBC iconic show The Old Grey Whistle Test. Blew my mind and the next day I dashed down to my local record store and bought the album. Changed my life!!!!
Yeah, I was 22 when it was released. Interesting at the time I was both a fan of rock, blues and metal and of musical theatre. So yeah, this stuff blew me away.
Bat Out of Hell was released long before I was even alive, somehow I managed to obtain a coy on vinyl and it is without question one of my favorites
I got the album for my 21st birthday, whilst serving in Belize. Yes I still have it, along with about three other copies, and many happy memories. Yes, I'm an old fart, but look at the music and cars that we had.
This wasn't a performance of a song...this was a show of a song...seriously taking one of the finest classic rock tracks and making a grand show of it...such a classic track.
I remember my uncle Derek in his 3 wheeler blasting this out of his car taking 2 wheels round the corners of the estate i lived. WOW what an album amazing music and memories.
No thank you! I've enjoyed Meatloaf since I first heard his songs as a 15 year old school boy (crashed my bike to Bat out of hell playing on walkman) I'm 52 now and still rockin R.I.P legend
I've seen and heard lots of awesome frontmen performers during my 60+ years but, MEAT was unequivocally head & shoulders above ANYONE!
And to put icing on the cake = He was such a nice fella. He truly felt indebted & grateful to every single one of his fans who came to see him.... And he gave everything (plus more) he had to repay back the appreciation he got ❤
He was a great performer and more importantly a lovely human being...RIP big man.
Lovely. Except when he's firing his leading lady and collaborator of 20 years. By email. Then, not quite so lovely.
Omg....I'm 66 yrs old and just had the goosebumps of my life....what a outstanding video thanks to everybody involved...especially the band !!..... RIP Meatloaf!!
This performance is proof that you can be a little past your prime and still put on a top shelf show. It also helps to have the goddess that is Patti Russo on stage to work with.
Luv it when Patti says 'I wasn't singing that to you...' then does her little victory dance 🤣 Awesome Performance from everyone there ❤️
Patti brought her A game every time
Back when music had story behind it. He literally made this song into a play and musical that lasted 22min. Genus
Great song, but he milked it. This shouldn’t be a 22 min song.
Patti looks amazing. What a grand performance.
Meat Loaf has been my favorite artist since I was 9 years old, 26 years ago. That was when I first heard "I'd Do Anything For Love". Everyone else was listening to BSB and I was blasting "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He had some hard times and so many health issues but despite it all he really left his mark. I'm so happy I saw him in concert in 2016. His voice wasn't as strong any more but he was still iconic and he put on one helluva show. Rest easy Meat. ❤🦇
16:03 IT WAS LONG AGO IT FAR AWAY AND SO MUCH BETTER THAN IT IS TODAY.....RIP BIG MAN WE LUV YA
All-time great showman and vocalist
The orchestra was amazing!! Great showmanship!! R.I.P. Earth's loss...Heaven's gain.
I feel privileged that I lived in the era of Meat Loaf. Seen him in concert three times- never disappointed. RIP big fella.
the most underrated if not greatest rock and roll song ever, by a rock and roll warrior, and the band /orchestra are magnificent
Totally agree
Marua
Maria
Underrated? Not here in The Netherlands. Every year it is well into the top 40 of best songs ever, according to the public.
Underrated??????
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
SO SAD! When it's gone, it's gone..........don't try to bring it back. Enjoy the memories.
I think my favorite part of the performance (besides Meat, of course) are the two violinists rocking out. I think the cameraman liked them, too.
Yep, especially the blonde one.
Yeah blond was gorgeous
And probably still is
For as long as you are remembered you are never truly dead. Meatloaf will live FOREVER. RIP
Meat Loaf marked my youth and my present. You were great.
Wow this is a really epic performance by meatloaf and Patti Russo! What an energy and presence!
Fun fact, the girl who’s on backup vocals to the right hand side of the stage is his daughter. RIP Loaf, amazing performer.
Josef Frizl?
@Martin Dybala these are two fun facts! 🤓
Is her name Pearl?
@@danbailey8182 yes her name is Pearl 😎✌🏻
@@musicworldvision802 ??isn't he dude that locked his daughter in a basement for 22 years and she had his children???
People think hes crazy...The man is a genius!
Man, the energy Michael and Patti poured into this song Every. Single. Time.
I had this on 8 Track as a kid, and it's still an amazing song.
The theatrics were so much part of the show. Patti played along so well…..dead pan perfectionism…..
Unbelievable performance!! 👏...Rip Meat, you are truly missed!
The drama, the song, the voice...RIP Meatloaf..and we'll never stop Roooockkkking!
It was long ago and far away so much better than it is today 🥲🥲RIP big man
The orchestra must love gigs like this. He proved yet again, it isn't just about him. The blonde violinist was really having fun out there.
This is not a 2 min song, this is a performance!!! great tallent, love Ruso, the orchestra is excellent! Those days are gone!
I'm so happy I grew up in the 80's
Man am I going to miss you and your MUSIC and of Course your Showmanship. R I P Marvin the World will Miss Meat Loaf. You and Jim are back Together.
Hands in the air clapping. No cellphones! Everyone enjoying the moment! ❤️
What an entertainer....
Deserved so much more acclaim.
God bless Mr Loaf.
Agree,
I think the one thing that I hate about getting older, is that my heros keep dying and sadly Meatloaf was one of my Heros that has gone. RIP to a Legend
Amazing. “It was long ago and far away, so much better than it is today.” All these years later and so very true. You will be missed. Keep rockin’ on heaven til we all shall meet again.
I'm 14 and I just discovered Meatloaf and it's one of the greatest bands I've ever listen to. Paradise by the dashboard light is just a masterpiece. Now I listen to Meatloaf all of the time.
Good for you! To recognize great music at an early age. Never lose that.
You could do worse.........
Meatloaf is not a band meatloaf just is.
I think I was about 14 Alexis when I found meatloaf ❤️. Im in my 40’s now, and my kids love meatloaf now ❤️.
@@memphismafia5167, I introduced meatloaf to all of my three children. They love him. ❤️❤️. They also love queen, Neil Diamond, and so many more. ❤️❤️
Why have I not seen this before? What a great performance. And Patty.... WOW!
Meatloaf and Jim Steinman.....what a great combination of words, music, voice and performance.....so damn great.....once in a lifetime.
You are so much missed RIP Meat
RIP dear Meat. We love you. Now, you are free of pain and with Jim, your dear friend. We will keep you alive in our hearts through your art.
RIP Jim Steinman the genius who conceived the greatest rock album and duet in history and of course RIP Meat, the voice that made it all happen.
Im so happy. I. Got Se this man live awesome Nice concert in valby parken Köpenhamn. Great performance Great show. RIP big man. Meat loaf.
This is the best version of this song ever recorded. RIP Meat Loaf.
That's your opinion, not everyone else. Honestly I don't like this version. The original is still the best in MY opinion.
Couldn’t agree more, amazing start to finish. Patti Russo is phenomenal in this.
Amazing!
@@tomjordan3135 Patti was and is the best
Gotta say I agree, I saw meat loaf several times between the early 80s and the late 90s and I honestly never really rated him as a live performer. I only clicked on this to watch patti but the meat was on fire.
Killer version of my all time favorit Meat Loaf song. Patti Russo: what a voice! At some moments it looks like she's holding back, to not outperform ML. And to see the fun the fantastic orchestra and band are having is wonderful.
She ist absolut amazing, best voice, so much better as aspen miller.
And that Ladies and Gentlemen, is how it's done.
Damn straight!
Iain Ryan
Yep, that’s how it should be done!
Love that guy.
He gave a concert in Holland a couple of years ago, went to see him...... Best concert ever!!!!!!!!!
@@annmariebarratt4213 I saw him in concert here in England 1977....fantastic!
Brilliant thanks so much meatloaf
@@amandareuben6240 you lucky shite.
Nothing will ever beat rock n roll of the last 40 years of the 20th century. Nothing!
Oh my goodness, how am I just finding this now?! My face aches from smiling and my stomach hurts from laughing. The orchestra having a blast, Meat's "dancing", Patti patiently waiting, the violin! 😂 😂
After being 33 years a huge Meat Loaf Fan, just tonight i found this Version of Paradise by the Dashboard light. CHAPEAU for Meat Loaf and especially Patti Russo. What a fun to watch both of them just having fun on stage, having fun with this song. And how beautiful to see the orchestra just picking up the mood. WHAT A PLEASURE. Thx for Posting.
True rock performers are said to expend as much energy as any professional athlete in their concerts. Meatloaf was an all-star in singing, performing and entertaining. He had it all.
OMG... Perfektion!!! Thx, i am SPEECHLESS.
Ein absoluter Ausnahmekünstler die es nur selten gibt....... Der hatte echt Ahnung !! Wie er seine Songs umgesetzt hat......Einmalig !! RIP !!!
Leider habe ich ihn nur bei Night of the Proms gesehen, er war einfach hervorragend.
Where in hell has this copy been? We've only had the poor grainey video with bad audio? This is a really high quality video with great audio!!! Thanks for posting it! I liked the violin bit too. Patti is the best!
Brilliant, what a show that guy gives, holds back nothing, and Patti Russo, a class act, gorgeous woman.
A 22 min version of Paradise by the Dashboard Light is something I always knew I needed.
Meat total performer and ms russo omg perfection .
When parents and offspring attend same concert a sign of how good performance
It was long ago and far away,
So much better than yesterday🤟🇬🇧👍👈
That Sir, is the perfect arrangement…RIP Meat😢
Er war nicht nur ein super Sänger sondern auch ein klasse Schauspieler!!!Unterhaltung pur!!!👏❤💯
I am 35 and through my younger years all I can remember is my first holiday with my dad, all he used to play was meatloaf. What great memories of such a legend. Gone but NEVER forgotten
My dad always would while we worked in the garage on Saturdays
wow I just watched this over 10 times, dam wow. I bet god is glad he's up there with him. wow.
The shots of the orchestra ROCKING out to the music as they play it.
PURE gold
Edit: talk to text thinks 2 = to
Nothing makes a show as good as when the band enjoys it as much as the audience. :-)
My heart is sad, weeps. RIP Meatloaf. Rock the Heavens above. I regret not seeing one of his concerts.
Best wedding song EVER!
When he sang “ but god only knows what I could do right now” he was at full throttle giving it everything he had , I grew up listening to him in my fathers car what great memories
He was special, his voice his charisma, he will be missed , Rest In Peace meatloaf 😢
What an unbelievably magnificent performance. No easy task to integrate an orchestra and choir into a rock music classic.
Story of my life!!!!
RIP Meat Loaf your music will last forever
I love it how he points out the musicians talents before he starts singing
Amazing bad ass, when you get symphony musicians rocking when playing, you got something there. RIP in rock n roll heaven...
Why was this the best 22.10 minutes of my life?!!
Best comment, ever!
Meat and Patty, thanks and God bless you from Roma.
First time I heard paradise by the dashboard lights was the night I met my husband to be. This became our song every anniversary he made sure to play it. The last night he was on this earth he played it. I didn't listen to paradise by the dashboard lights again till 5 months later on Halloween our anniversary I didn't even have it on my phone yet around 7:30 pm my phone started playing it. I knew it was a sign. I love and miss you Chris Forever Your Girl
