My mom always tells me about this concert, she was only 17 years old when she attended, she said all the performance did a amazing show but the one that stood out the most for her was Queen ... especially when they sung "we will rock you" she said she thought the stadium was going to collapse with all the people stomping their feet on the floor... she said she wasn't a big fan of queen but after that day she became one of this biggest fan... she was heart broken when he passed 💔 😢
great!
RIP, Now she's with freddie in the heaven ❤🫂

10 times a day?? Not nearly enough... lol
Do it again!
Queen absolutely ruled this day. And Freddie mastered every second of it.

Never gets old!!
This must be considered the greatest live performance of all times.
👍🏼👍🏼 you’re so right!!!
And it is according to polls. I’d read a poll was taken on which band was the best that day. 60% came in Queen, followed by Bowie, McCartney, Elton, U2, Collins & Madonna in Philly. I see most were in the UK lol….that breaks up the 40! Going down as [one of] if not the greatest live rock performance in history. BOOM!!

My 22 year old son thinks he’s the greatest performer ever.
No one will ever ever ever come close to the talent and showmanship of Freddie. Evah!
Not sure about that Michael Jackson, Prince etc. But top of the game in their niche. This was a great moment in music history/politics - when the world said NO to doing nothing as people STARVE.
@@mogadon7 Freddie started his journey with Bohemian Rap before MJ Thriller and Queen was established before Prince. They were all talented but no one can beat Freddie, sorry, and I love all three. OH, and I did see Freddie live 3 times and Michael once. Best 4 shows of my life.
Check out Mexican singer Juan Gabriel, amazing talent we had
Watch Bowies last concert as Ziggy Stardust at Hammersmith Odeon, 1973. Not saying he is a bigger showman than Mercury but if I had to pick, I would definitely chose this concert every time someone asks me "If you could travel back in time, what concert would you got to?" ;)
For me it's Elvis Presley he's always been my top choice. Like others have said MJ and Prince they're not in the same league at all. They're good, just not their level.

My favorite story about this performance is that the first thing Freddie heard when he stepped off stage was his good friend Elton John, paying him a compliment by telling him “Thanks a lot you just fucked it up for the rest of us!”

Bowie was the one man who could come on after him

75 bands played.
$35.00 for a ticket.
$2.14 for the greatest 20 minutes in music history.
Not a bad deal.
only truths! queen forever
remember that $35 in 1985 is about $100 today. still, one of the best performances ever
@@gvm_l4088 Considering the line-up of A-list artists that day, Bowie, U2, Madonna, et al, *_well_* worth the price.
If you divide 35.00 by the number of bands that played, 75, you get about 0.46. By your logic it would cost 46 cents to listen to each band. Your math is off.
you divided it the wrong way smh
He wasn't just an incredible singer, he was a complete showman. It is such a shame he died so young.
Freddy was so absolutely ON during this performance! The band was so tight too. Amazing. I watched it on TV in 1985- I was 20 years old, dancing in my living room, loving the magic that was coming through my TV screen. Now at nearly 59, I'm watching it on my tablet in bed, as my dancing days are over... but my head is happily bobbing in time with the music. This has to be the 15th time I've seen this, & it does not get old. Love it!!

if this was a different band you normally get upset because you're so much into singing then they cut and transitioned to another song but then you realized "oh radio ga ga!" yeah!!!
@@juanderingsoul They cut the song suddenly because in this concert, every band had only 20 minutes to play, therefore they couldn't play the whole song
The funniest thing about this was that no other band wanted this particular spot in the show. But Freddie was smart enough to know it would be broadcast in the USA at prime time and he took it over his agent's objections. People who had never seen Queen live got a taste of the magic, talent and charisma of the group. The rest is history.

In our naive innocence, we thought that with the amount of money raised, it would bring about such changes in Africa.
We were wrong of course . But I will NEVER forget that day 😊
Today it is shit, sad to say.
Yes, a rock concert was freakin AMAZING!! Been to many but sadly, not Queen. So sad l missed out on seeing Freddie. RIP Freddie ❤❤❤ A huge fan!
The greatest live performance by any band EVER
Except by their performance in Rio
I’m back Jan.5, 2025✝️❤️, thank you Freddie for a lifetime of love and beautiful memories. RIP🙏💙
When they introduced them as "Her Majesty, Queen!!" and like ten of thousands of people cheer in freaking 1985 I tered up. They were so so loved.
PEOPLE LOST THEIR MINDS!
Prince Charles got confused & stood up for his mum. Princess Diana was loving that it was meant for her good buddy!!
I could put this performance on a loop and watch it forever. I saw black and white poster of Freddy once and it said, "When I was a lad, my mother told me I could be anything I wanted to be. So I became a legend." How right he was. The rush it must have been looking out and seeing 73,000 people knowing every word and loving every minute of your remarkable talent.
He made the world a better place and will be remembered forever.

Его даже с России, помнить будут❤

in my opinion, queen is the best band of all time. i'm only 19, but queen has had a huge impact on my life. music is my favorite thing on the planet, and i quite literally listen to everything, but absolutely no one could ever top queen. if i only had 5 minutes and 55 seconds left in my life, i would want to spend it listening to bohemian rhapsody. freddie mercury is the best performer i've ever seen. i wish i was alive when he was. long live queen.
You've got great taste, when you get a chance and if you can find it, watch the 1986 A Kind Of Magic Gig at Wembley
That's so amazing to hear from someone so young,, good taste mate😊
2nd, nothing compears to led zeplin
They will always be one of the greatest bands of all time
Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, and Prince will always the best singers and performers of all time
entering 2025 in few weeks and listening to one of the best music ever made in the history. Anyone listening this in the last month of 2024?
Mio marito possiede tutti i loro LP. Ogni tanto li ascoltiamo.
I'm 82 and just discovered Queen in the last year. INCREDIBLE. FANTASTIC!
It's never too late!
Where you were all those years? :))
Have you been living under a fucking rock?
머큐리가 4살동생이라는게 더 놀랍습니다.
I am 82 years old and unfortunately missed the live Freddy. Too busy with carriers, family and life. I saw the movie Bohemian Rapasdy and was amazed by Queen. Better let than never. The group and FP will never be duplicated. I can listen to their music over and over and never get tired of it.
Такой живой человек не может быть другим. Только живым. :)
Agree 💯!!!
Forever AMAZING!!!
WAIT- Bro did you even participate in WWII
HE WAS A LEGEND AND ALWAYS WILL BE REMEMBERED AS ONE AND SO WAS HIS CREW
If there were ever a time machine, this 20-minute moment would the one to travel back to. Spectacular! RIP Queen.
UA-cam is the time machine
I’ve watched/listened to this 25 X or more. As screwed up as our world is this makes or should make you happy. It works for me. Yanni is another that can bring the world together in his music.
I watched it on tv as it happened in Australia as a teenager and even then it was Queen and U2 who stood out as the best performers
Years have passed Eddie and Queen your lyrics have held all my answers in years to come words along cannot express the gratitude I have for you and the band yours truly you!!!
Yes buddy that's right thanks mate
Thankyou
"U"
Simply amazing. His voice, his look, his band, his stage presence, his charisma, his ability to hold a crowd in the palm of his hand, AMAZING!!!!
Amazing gifts - and he utilized them with all his energetic determination❤
... his passion!
The movie “BOHEMIAN RAPSODY”………best music movie ever!,
@@bestmommy1462 so true ❤️
No one has ever come close since
Queen completely stole the entire Live Aid show, and it was a moment of pure love and joy.
I agree! Didn’t Diana have something to with them headlining this? I’m probably wrong I was a teen then but they were brilliant showmen,
I agree as well!!! It makes it even more special/significant now , knowing that Freddie was so terribly unwell at that very moment in time when doing the concert, yet gave such a polished, heartfelt, perfect (or as close to, as far as I’m concerned) performance!!!!
He knew it was going to be the last time he performed live, as did his fellow Band Mates, Family and certain close friends, etc.
@@brisvegasblonde6191 I don’t want to say you are wrong with your facts but live Aid was not Queens last live performance with Freddy. Fact, Freddy was sick with the Virus at this time and showing various symptoms but not yet officially diagnosed, that did not come until 1987. Queens final live performance with Freddy out front took place on 9 August 1986 at Knebworth Park in England. Freddy would pass away from the AIDS Virus late 1991.
It really doesn’t matter because Freddy was sick and Queens Live aid performance has been judged by the top artist as being the best live performance ever of all time.
DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!!!
Don't agree - they were the certainly band who used the performance most successfully, to promote the remainder of their career. But there were lots of very popular performances on the day - Bowie, Sting, McCartney, U2, Elton John, Madonna etc were at the peak of their careers. This wasn't a big thing for them
Queen were going nowhere in 1985. It was a huge thing for them
Не повторимый ,таких как ты больше нет)))))Спасибо за твою любовь к нам )))))
100%
Freddy ol de best🎉❤
This has to be the best live performance of any band, in the history of music.
Watching in 2025
Not a huge queen fan but I think this was the absolute peak of mankind in lots of ways never to
Be repeated
I saw Queen 12 times through the 70's and 80's...I met Fredy and Brian 3 times in that span, I was a journalist interviewing them, after the first meeting, Freddie remembered me on the 2 other interviews by name...I was shocked, but it told me what a kind soul he was...I treasure the little time I spent with him very much h... he was a sweet man with a soft voice and a human touch...he was my favorite interview hands down....
That's amazing. Do you think Bohemian Rhapsody was a good movie portrayal?
What a talented man he was. What a thrill for you!
I like to refer him in his born name Farouk Bullsar. Its my thing. The man and the whole band, could never be replicated IMHO.
no surprise he remembered you, he was extremely intelligent man. Nature just made mistake somewhere and he didn't pass his genes but he should have done this.
To anyone who ever comes across the video now or in the future - Never let this one die! Queen on the sets of Live Aid IS extremely special.
@yourcodeperson6598•HEAR!HEAR!
Im 41 this year and watched it with my parents as a kid.
My dad still talks about how Freddy stole the show and we still watch it regularly. You’re right it’s special ❤
Will do!!!
I am watching 17 December 2024 in the United States 🇺🇸 I am 77 years old and I was and still fan of Freddy Mercury and also fan of Queen .
I wonder how few of the younger ones will ever realize that no single artist will ever beat those 20 minutes. Thank you so much, Mr. Mercury.
My daughter loves queen. 18 now but been a fan since 11
There are a few! I’m 28 and a fan since I was a teenager
I’m 35 been listening since my parents showed me as a child! I thank them for that!
I also showed my 7 year old son lol he practices singing like Freddy
Saying that is a little weird dont you think? Before queen people probably said that about other preformances, those kind of comments are discouraging to the next superstars
My son introduced me to Queen. My son has passed on but I still listen to Queen and my son is with me. Love you Queen. ❤
I am so sorry for your loss!

Freddy was one of a kind. No CGI, no autotune, no fake, only pure talent. You can hear his voice breaking, but he still gives all there is to give in him despite all the pain allready.
*Freddie
@@susanorchard1994 Yes, Karen.
Ignore the movie; he hadn't been diagnosed yet in 1985.
@@do2219 No, but he *did* have a nasty throat infection at the time, and his doctor had advised him not to perform. His response was that the show must go on. And he killed it, because he was Freddie Mercury.
That's why his voice *does* crack a couple of times, and he goes out of tune a few times like he normally never did live. He wasn't well at the time, but it also wasn't AIDS related like that stupid movie implied.
As a huge Van Halen Fan and Metal Head and I cannot think of a better live performance ever. I am in tears and have goosebumps listen to Freddie sing!
It will never measured by genre, this will be never ever forgotten. One of the absolute best front men.
Utterly fantástic!!!
THE BEST,UNCOMPARABLE
Terremoto de señor.
Pura energía y electricidad ❤
It never gets old.
Every now and then someone comes along that is just too big for this world. Rest in peace Freddie. The world will never let you be forgotten.
Very well said
You say it so well
Couldn't be said better. He was amazing in every way. He truly was too big for this world.

No other musician/singer in history has given a crowd of 72,000 people a vocals challenge and made it fun. Freddy mercury’s talent’s are truly breath taking as they are admirable
Bloody brilliant! Fantastic atmosphere around the country.
3 Jan 2025! And it still gives me goosebumps!
The way this guy could command tens of thousands of people will forever be unsurpassed
It’s January 23rd of 2024 and I’m still jamming with Queen 62 years later

33 years ago we lost Freddie. I’m so glad that this was captured for eternity. Radio, someone still loves you.
Totally agree 👍... to be able to save this amazing show with friends and family ❤ /☆♡
This man was an amazing singer and performer. Unbelievable singer. Im 53 and Queen was my first favorite band in high school. Queen remains to be my favorite band. Legendary.
i'm 36 and i'm a fan of Queen.

An outstanding performer who can lead a huge crowd like this no one would come close to Freddie Mercury.
Neste milênio não vai existir alguém tão cedo com esta genialidade.
