grub screw needs heat applied to loosen the loctite

When you put that on the dash, it looks like it has a separate Nylon washer. Is that right?
I removed the grub screw ok. But could not slide the lower quadrant off. There was insufficient space between the lower quadrant and the lower casing. ?? I carried on without fitting the new nylon bush and I’m impressed. Works well.
You just needed to put the gearbox in 1st, 3rd, 5th gear by pushing the shaft backwards. This would have allowed you the space to remove the quadrant.

Just tríed to install mine, but will need to continue tomorrow as I found several issues: different bolts sizes, spanners not useful, actually needed a ratchet, sockets and an extender as the box mount is a bit recessed down. There also was an inner gaiter and extra foamy padding material that had to be removed
brsrbck hi mate I have a slight grind noise on my gearbox .defender 90 .when I change into 2nd and 4th seeing as it is on the back shift so to speak do you think this device would help me ...many thanks .
How do you removed the gearbox extension housing to allow you to put it on a work bench to get proper purchase on the grub screw? I can see the 4 bolts but I can't seem to access them. Thanks
You'll have to take the transmission tunnel off. I'd you have an access panel under the cubby box then that'll help too
No gasket or joint. at all?
Sealant is preferred over a gasket
