Great moods! And don’t worry about the oil leaks! It’s a Land Rover ;) You only worry if they don’t leak, because they may be out of oil. ;)) Marry Christmas !
Thanks! Haha yes it's a problem the leaking issue 😉. Our stock one wasn't leaking at all, we broke it during an intense offroad session and since we replaced it's leaking. We had it redone completely this years and it's leaking again...
My biggest Defender mod in 2021 was turning it into a Toyota Hilux.... After another major mechanical failure and the engine losing interest and dumping all its fluid on the road and leaving me stranded (yes it had been properly serviced!) I decided I'd had enough. I still look at Defenders with some envy. I loved my two (90 300Tdi and 110 Puma) but the cold hard reality is I live on a farm and they're just not as dependable as I need them to be.
Thanks for this comment! The most important point is that you found the best vehicle for your personal use. For us, toyota, nissan, Land Rover is not important at all. When our vehicle won't match our needs, we'll replace it. For the moment it's not the case. Enjoy your hilux and let us know your feedback about this pick-up as a working vehicle.
Aah il a quand même mauvaise réputation ;) ... elle fuyait pas avant mais on l a détruite en tout terrain et avons dû la remplacer, depuis ça fuit malgré l avoir à nouveau complètement refaite cette année 😔
I did so much on my 1965 Unimog 404 this year! It is finally road legal, Build on the camper, Fixed the diesel pump thatw as stuck. Put on solar and 12volt. Rebuild teh roofrack etc etc etc :D to many to type haha But in May 2022 I willd rive Amsterdam - Northcape!
Merry Christmas ! Busy year here on the Land Rovers. On my Td5 90 (2001) I started replacing the exhaust and ended up replacing the chassis with a galvanised one. Things always end up escalating quickly ! It also got some rock sliders, I banded a set of steel wheels for it, billet hinges on all the doors, some welding on the bulkhead, a new alternator, and some bits and bobs. Lots left to do though. On my 80” Series Land Rover (1951) I have replaced the gearbox, fitted suffix ‘B’ low range gears in the transfer box, fitted an overdrive with a special set up for the lever, rewired most of it, fitted sound proofing under the floor, new brake master cylinder and reservoir, some painting, new clutch mechanism parts, rebuilt transmission brake, new brake mechanical parts, new gearbox mounts with the old military addition stay bar, and a Roamerdrive finned transfer cover. Still lots I want to do on that - before I drive it to the Pyrenees. Busy year for my Land Rovers!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you guy's. 1995 Landrover Defender 2.5l 300tdi county station wagon. Fitted new polly bushes, front and back. Busy repairing transfer case. Next is the full service.
Happy holidays and a adventures new year! Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️🇨🇭 No modifications yet, still waiting for my new iveco daily 4x4 from the Italian factory (waiting for a chip)…..☹️
Bought a Penman cargo trailer for my 110 defender. Going to put my camping gear and roof tent onto the trailer instead of in my Landy. Save weight and I find it more practical to just hook up a traiker for camping when you want and you get to have a base camp to drive away from. Having lived wth the roof tents for 15 years now I think its time to try an adventure trailer. The Penman were designed to be towed by Landys so should be a good solution.
Confined!!!????? What kind of Christmas is that? Anyway, Merry Christmas to you, your family and all the viewers. My 80 Series Land Cruiser says hi. ;-)
@@offtrackfamily bring that beauty over here. All the states that matter are completely open. We're so tired of all this BS so it's going to r a great year of traveling. 😀
One of the areas of the LT230 that is prone to leaking is the intermediate shaft at the housing. It has a O Ring but the actual aluminium housing can wear out of round. One way to solve this is to machine the case and install a steel bush for the O Ring to run in. The steel won’t wear out like the aluminium.
Well… First off all Bonjour and Happy new year… after finally five month my Landy 110 HT is on the road . I did a few things to get it back on the road, I want go into to much details but the thing I like to mention is the Radio ! I have a full screen 📺 touch sensitive with a backup camera and it is much BIGGER (the screen) then the one you have. Phone is connected … Apple Car play included, for choice Android Auto also and the camera 🎥 is mounted the same place that you have. If you have a spare wheel in the back, I think a absolutely necessity… just my opinion ! Greetings from Germany everybody… Stay safe 👋
'96 300TDi 110 this year has had fitted.... New side windows, Drivelodge pop up roof, side storage box, new solar panel, new Eberspacher heater, new winch bumper...
@@offtrackfamily it's fantastic! We've just got back from 4 nights wild camping in Norfolk, England. With the bed pushed up into the lifted roof, it's nice to be able to stand up fully in the back.
I replaced the last quarter of the chassis. Replaced the battery box under the seat. Protected and painted half of the chassis. Replaced all four disc brakes. Restored transfer box and some more small things. .... u yes and half mounted 7inch radio. Lots of new adventures in the new year. 🎄🎁 Cheers. 🍺 & 🍷
I'm a big fan of Land Rovers. Here in the US it is hard to find Defenders with diesel engines and they are very expensive if you do. I have a Discovery and want a Defender some day. I've been noticing the aluminum box on the roof. Did you mention where you got it? On my Discovery, I've lifted it, changed the oil pan gasket, changed diff oils, plugs and wires, repaired the fuel tank, and bought a lot of other new parts I am slowly replacing.
Yess, good to know! I'me waiting for new video of "what upgrade no more need" or regret after years of use? Mine, for example, was cheap chinese round switchs without light and name, at night every time call some saint to helpme to find it... now, for my mistake, spent again some money upgrade to rocker switch & panel with label and figure illuminated too, easy upgrade for better night exploring into the wild :D
🤔 Well yes everything is filmed for UA-cam as it's my job. And, you shouldn't be shy pressing down that speed pedal, many Defenders can go that fast... some even more according to what other owners commented on my Instagram. Check out my latest IG post if you also watch my content overthere 😉
I watch all your videos, no need to clickbait me into them…..glad you did though 😉
Haha thanks! But I don't see any clickbait: there's me, the Defender, and what I share in the video 🤔😉
