My keloid update: Part 2 - New treatment, STEROID TAPE!

  • Hi there! My name is India Jasiri and I'm an actress living in Los Angeles, California. I just wanted to share a series of videos that will update you on my current keloid scar journey.
I've dealt with keloids since I was 12- about 14 years now. I've recently discovered a treatment (steroid tape!) for them that has never been offered to me, and isn't widely used (or known about, I think) so I am very very excited to share the news in this video!!
My hope is that you like this video and will look out for the rest- the next one will be about how I managed to get steroid tape and my progress with it!
    Much love,
    India
    P.S.

I had the same experience. I found that study actually before coming across your video. I have a large keloid across where my two chest muscles meet. It's so painful and itchy and has caused me to live my whole adult life with body confidence issues, and not feeling like I can take off my top even with those closest to me. I've ordered the strongest take from Japan the 20ug one so fingers crossed it has results! It's very frustrating that one, you cannot get this in the UK and also after all these years the doctors either don't seem to care about what I am experiencing, or have just failed to mention this possible treatment. I hope you have so much success!!

I use a smooth crystal stone on the small hypertrophic scars I get. As soon as one fully heals I massage it with the stone thoroughly with cocoa butter and or coconut oil to not break or irritate the skin but you can use lotion or whatever. Once the scar is soft and mushy I then cut the sticky parts off a bandage and bandage the smooth stone onto the keloid for an entire day and replace after a shower and continue this process for about a week (most of the time less)and it will be completely flat. After you think it’s flat enough which is around 3 days for me, take the pressure off and moisturize and it will fade and continue to be flat, basically gone. If it starts to raise again because you irritated it, bandage it again with the stone. I’ve had two on my chest that are completely gone and not noticeable at all because of this. I don’t get keloids as far as know so I can’t say you’d get the same result with a keloid(maybe?)but this WORKS for hypertrophic scars.

    • @indiajasiri
      @indiajasiri  2 роки тому +3

This is super interesting! It's reminding me of the pressure earrings that are recommended post-surgery. This might help with flatter keloids that are on the chest and back. A friend of mine presses a heavy book against his forehead for a tiny keloid he has that comes and goes mysteriously throughout his life 😂For round ones typically found on earlobes, I can't see this working very well as the tissue is extremely hard and not usually malleable.
This also reminds me of people taping a penny on a toddler's belly button to make it an innie hahah! I'm glad this method works for you, maybe I'll try it on my arm if I remember!!

I've tried everything without success, until recently. I purchased a Maglev device that operates like a laser, and blasted my keloid at home and noticed a good improvement over the coming months. I then purchased a Cryopen and froze what was left of the keloid (minus 89°C) again, and then after 6 months it has now completely disappeared. Most importantly I know it will not be returning, because as everyone with keloids knows, a few weeks after treatment with attempts to remove them, you start to notice the area is turning red or purple again, and a severe itch starts to materialise, then weeks later the keloid is back with a vengence. But thankfully not this time, it has gone for good.

Eclar plaster works. I ordered some from Japan back in May. It’s very strong though bc you’ll notice a difference within a week or so. Tape plus injections really flattens the scar well. Also any new scar prone to keloid can be prevented if the tape is applied as soon as the wound is closed. However 5 months after I stopped applying the keloid regrew. So it might be a process that needs repeating until it stops growing all together. Again it’s a powerful chemical so I’d be cautious when applying it, especially to non scarred skin. I’d recommend everyone who has keloids to look into it

I am appalled at the doctor who burnt your incision. Are you kidding. 😩
Since yours is on your forehead- I’d be extra cautious with kelaid or steroid tape if you wanted to try that. It might cause discoloration and irritation and since it’s on your face; that could be pretty upsetting. I just read about kinesio tape- I feel like alternating silicone strips with the tape would help your burn scar a lot and not have any risks. But you know what’s best for you! I have keloids for the over 10 years , I have done several research . My best option that came up was Kelaid, but staying in Africa it was difficult to get it I only received the package last week . So I was inspired to do more research and I came across your videos, that someone recommended in keloid trend .
I actually will like to try to steroid tapes . I have keloid of my face , neck, knee and pelvic area .
Kenalog works for those on my feet but I am been suffering with these keloids especially those on my face .
    Thanks 🙏

Kelaid was definitely interesting and enticing; I hope it works for you! If it doesn’t, on to the next thing as always right? Maybe tape will. Sending you healing vibes ❤️💪🏽

I have on my chest I did steroid injections and the tapes aswell also I did surgically removed but, I can see no difference only temporarily! The only way to get rid off ie: to flatten …which works for me is clean diet…. Sugar is the sorest thing ever to have in your diet…. All the best!

I'm glad cleaning up your diet helps you! I have tried cutting out sugar for a while and taking anti-inflammatory supplements. Now I'm attempting a primarily plant-based diet, but diet hasn't affected mine much. Best of luck!

You can get it surgically removed and it has a 70% chance of returning. If you get it removed followed by 3 straight days of radiation (very mild form) it has only a 3% chance of returning.

Yep, I've had mine removed 3 times now 😓 Different form of radiation done during the removal that didn't work so well.

In one of the studies, the tape is used on the forehead, but I personally would be cautious about using the tape super close to the face/on the face.

i used this tape about 18 years ago for a short while and just picked up some today from Walgreens and thank goodness the military paid for it. 900 bucks. I also take keloid injection, which i know works. My melaninated skin is sensitive. My doc told me years ago, British people (white) have keloid issues also. I thought it was just black people.

18 years ago. Wow! I’m glad you had access to it then! Unfortunately injections did not help me much.
Keloids affect many different races/ethnicities; POC are just more prone to them for some reason. Keloids suck!
