Keloid update (from December 2023)

Hi my friends,
Long time, I know. I'm regretful. Providing a quick update I filmed in December.
I haven't been using the steroid tape, and my keloid is sadly starting to become a bit more active once again and is growing. I'm also having pain periodically, about every few days.
I had a dermatologist appointment on 12/7 where I received kenalog injections, and my 2nd round of injections was in January.
Sorry for the vertical-ish update at the end; I had forgotten to turn my phone to landscape so I cropped the vertical video a bit.
Sad to be going through this again, but I'm hopeful that the smaller size of my keloid will receive the injections and stay flat and dormant.

😢I know the feeling. I had an injection in December last year at Lexington Surgery and so far the area is flat. I know what it’s like to be on a daily keloid watch

Daily keloid watch sucks but I don’t think I will blissfully ignore until I can’t anymore again 😬 praying yours stays flat!

I know how hard it is to live with keloids from personal experience. I get steroid shots and cryotherapy every 4-5 weeks. While it is mentally draining, you are still beautiful! And your scars don’t define you. Constantly worrying if more will come or if it’ll ever get better is a never ending battle I pray you find some sort of peace in this process and know you are not alone 🫶🏾

That is so draining! I feel like regular shots are going to be in my future which sucks to think about, but they do help with the pain. So the tape works for hypertrofic scars?

I saw significant improvement in my hypertrophic scar. The tape slowed my keloid regrowth for a bit, but whether it was the location in my body (stretched between my jaw and my ear), the thinness of my skin, or just too much skin irritation from the tape, I couldn’t continue at the frequency that made the most difference for my keloid.
