My keloid update: Part 3 - How I got steroid tape

- Hi there! My name is India Jasiri and I'm an actress living in Los Angeles, California. I just wanted to share a series of videos that will update you on my currently keloid scar journey.
I've dealt with keloids since I was 12- about 14 years now. I've recently discovered a treatment (steroid tape!) for them that has never been offered to me, and isn't widely used (or known about, I think) so I am very very excited to share the news in this video!!
My hope is that you find this video helpful and that you'll look out for the rest- the next one will be about me actually using the steroid tape. An update about how it has been working so far!

Japan has stronger steroid which is best for keloid but not available here in UK or US. UK has similar steroid tape made of 4mcg Fludroxycortide 7.5 x 50cm worth £40 or USD55.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey. In my early twenties I had my helix pierced on one of my ears. All was great until I was hit in the ear with a basketball when I was coaching little kids. Little by little I developed a little bubble in the back of my piercing. I eventually took out my earing and KABOOM! It doubled in about the span of a month. It turns out the pressure from the jewelry bar was keeping it stable. Eventually, I was able to get a referral to a dermatologist and like you, they deemed treatment as cosmetic, even though I was having constant irritation and pain. I paid for all the steroid shots out of pocket. Although it helped a little, it was too painful and too expensive to continue. It did keep it from growing for about a year. Fast-forward to today. I just set up another dermatology appointment because my ear keloid has no reached grape size. I am at the point of pain shooting down my neck as well. I am so glad I came across this video, because now I can better advocate for a treatment plan that might actually work for me. Thanks!!!!
Hi Brandi, thank you for sharing YOUR journey! Oh, I can't imagine paying for steroid shots out of pocket or continuing them on a regular basis- can definitely agree that they were too painful to do often (or ever again, right?) I'm still gauging the tape, but fingers crossed you have an amazing dermatologist and absolute best of luck in your future treatment!!

I’ve struggling with keloids, I’ve been using kelaid as you mentioned in you’re last video and it has significantly flattened 2 out of three of my keloids. I’ve been using it for two months now. Anyway will do my research on the keloid tape. Thank you this was helpful.

@@petertams394 well they are much flatter, I actually stopped using kelaid because it did more harm actually. I started getting steroid injection mixed with fluorouracil which is a chemotherapy drug that stop cellular growth with my dermatologist. My keloids are flatter and less noticeable. That was the best treatment for me.

Yes my pharmacist said it’s hard to find. Not everyone carries it and it’s extremely hard to get and keep the steroid on the tape which is why it’s expensive. He also said 800 bucks and with discount I paid $150. Fine. I started my tape yesterday. Pleaseee work tape!
