- Hi all,
I got my first dose of the covid vaccine on Friday so I'm sorry for the low energy/volume in this video (I'm pretty tired).
Hopefully you can still hear me okay in this quick update video.
Not a ton to update honestly, but I've gotten a few comments asking when the next update was, so..here it is. Officially 11 months from the first day I used steroid tape. I took a 2.5 week break in June.
Main difference: less inflammation.
Hope you all have a great and safe holiday!
I just wanted to say that keloids or no keloids, you are amazing! Thank you for sharing these videos and keeping us updated! I will pray that God ease your pain and heal your keloids asap. Ameen.
Amile, thank you so much! You are so kind. I am hoping the same for you for whatever you may be going through! ❤️
👋 hi, I've enjoyed listening to your journey. You have provided me with new informative data. Thank you 😊❤
I reallyyy appreciate these videos Queen. Next time I see my dermatologist I will bring this up 😍👏🏽💞
Absolutely! Fingers crossed you can get some and it works for you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
The tape definitely works , I've been using it for a while on and off for years, you just have to be consistent with applying it
Thank you your videos, got eclar tape from Japan, 1st week using it and the pain is gone - might get an injection just to spread up the process
Absolutely! And yay- I’m glad it’s helped with your pain💙 the Japanese eclair is stronger than the one I am using it and I’m thinking about it. Best of luck!!
Thanks for sharing your journey India! I'm struggling with a cartilage keloid and got my first steroid shot today. I'm super intrigued about the tape!
Hi Subi! Happy to share. How did you feel after your first shot? Personally, I'll be great if I never have to get one ever again. Lol. I should be able to shoot a quick update soon. I'm not sure that it's much improved since my last video though.

Hey, great to see your recent upload! Since I commented 4mo ago, I’ve had 4 additional injections, and overall the size of my keloid has gone down about 80-90% from a ball with a 6mm diameter to a raised bump with a 4mm diameter. Honestly, the first shot was pretty painful. It’s a lot more painful than getting a vaccine or getting blood drawn because the keloid tissue is so thick and scarred. My doctor just had to poke her way through the thick scar tissue with the needle which was not fun to feel or hear. I felt burning and itching at the injection site later that day as well.
Afterwards, the keloid actually got a touch bigger for about a week or two which tempted me to to panic and spiral, but slowly over the course of the following month it actually shrank very noticeably. I went back for injections about once a month and am still going since I want my ear to look as normal as possible. Fortunately the first shot is by far the most painful one, and the following shots get progressively easier. However, unfortunately, results also slow down considerably after the first 1-3 shots. I saw little if no changes from shots 3-4, but now, a month after my 5th, I am noticing some more flattening. I know what it feels like to perceive no progress, but don’t give up! I’m learning that even with the right treatment, keloids just need time.
@@sq6610 Oh, I so feel your pain! Continue to hang in there.
My first ever injections sent me into instant tears and that was after we numbed the keloids a bit with ice. Guess that wasn't really useful, haha. I am so so glad to hear you're seeing progress with injections! Maybe between your injections you can wear kinesio tape to encourage flattening. I feel like it might help.
6mm is quite a small keloid, and I imagine you're seeing great results from the injections due to its smaller size. If I had to estimate, I think my first set of keloids were about 20mm in diameter and had major volume; as they were like a huge marbles hanging off my lobes. If time is the major key, I think mine probably would've taken several years to see improvements with injections. I could only bear them for about 1 year before I gave up. Wonder what would have happened though.
Again, I'm so glad for you and hope yours continues to shrink! Thanks for sharing!! :)
Thanks for sharing. I also have a cartilage keloid on the back of my ear and now going through steroid shots. Your message is really encouraging
Thanks so much for these updates! I've been using the tape for a month now but in the last week it's been getting more red and inflamed like it sounds like it did for you. Just wondering did the redness get much better after your 2.5 week break? I think I might take a break for a few days
Happy to share! The redness did get better after my break. I would recommend either a long break or a shorter wear time (12 hours) or both to see if it helps!
Hi India - I'm so happy I found your videos, they have been so helpful! My insurance doesn't cover this but I was wondering if you are still using it or if there has been any updates with your scar? I'm really debating on buying this and seeing if it is worth it but just wanted to get a second opinion. Thanks!!
Hi Amy! I am still using the tape but I’m not wearing it every single day now and so I’m waiting a bit longer between updates. I suggest reading the articles I have linked in (I believe) in my first video for that study information; it could help you decide :)
How can i buy it?
I'm living in India.
Hello
Mine is very small and I want to get rid of it before it gets big can you help ?
Thank you for sharing:)
Of course; hope it helps!!
Thanks for the update ! Do you think this tape is worth it ?
I think if you can get it without it really hurting your finances, it’s definitely worth a try!
Has anyone tried this in a raised scar?
You recommed earrings pressure?
Please sis answer my comment ...
Few year's back I unfortunately did a self harm burn on my arm & I'm facing keliod scar ! Does it require treatment or it's normal to have it ? ....please reply,, It will help me out
Hi, I answered your last comment! Keloids are pretty common. I hope you're doing better! Much love.
Hi, good morning, please. I need your help. How can I get this?
It’s helping so far it’s been about a month… thinking If I should do injections end the tape…
That’s great to hear!! I would consult your doctor, doing both may be too much for your skin at a time
Thank you India! I wanted to share with you that I have your 5 videos interpreted and then shared the translated ones on one of the biggest Chinese social media platforms where our comrades against Keloid can get an access to! (Hope you don't mind and I've inscribed your link don't worry) For any other advice, please feel free to contact me. I'm going to do the isotape tomorrow. All the best to you ! :)
Hi Jam, wow! That’s awesome! Thank you for taking those steps to help share with so many people ❤️
Your scar looks great. Way smaller.
Hi! When you cut out the shapes do you make them slightly larger than the keloid or the exact same size?
I try for the exact same size, maybe a tiny bit larger! You want to avoid/limit contact with healthy skin but sometimes same size won’t cover the entire thing, depending on how much it’s raised.
Currently going thru hoops to get my insurance to cover it 😭 pray for me
Fingers crossed!!
Do you use injection or laser treatment?
Not at the moment. The last time I had injections was about 8 months after my last surgery (3ish years ago), and I have never had laser treatment
I am in US, and my dermatologist said that they don’t have steroid creams here or these tapes.
Weird…! We very much do have them here. I’ve been prescribed and have obtained both of them. I’m in Los Angeles.
Maybe you'd want to get a second opinion. Luckily my insurance does cover the tape and I'm on my third month of using it. I live in Texas.
@@indiajasiri can you share which dr prescribed them to you? I also live in Los Angeles and I’m unable to find a dr that could prescribe them
@@MsKumbi I would try dermatologists instead of your regular physician. The dermatologist who helped me with this is Dr. Ezra of California Dermatology Institute
Hi India, I just wanted to let you know that I'm going through something similar to you, although my keloid is on my chest. I had steroid injections a couple weeks back which have flattened the keloid by around 30%, and I'm using the tape every other day. It's too early to draw conclusions, but I'm seeing progress. I intend to have steroid injections once per month. Perhaps you could adopt a similar strategy? Wishing you the best of luck, from London, UK ❤️
Hi Kabir! Thank you for the tip! I am doing every other day-ish. I'll alternate like two days on, one day off, sometimes two days off. It just depends on how it's looking and how I'm feeling. I'm so glad everything seems to be working for you- so so exciting!!
Hi kabir, i have a small keloid on my chest as well. Since you said you got steroid injection i wanted to know whereabouts in uk did you get it? I have recently bought the Haelan tape as i find it cheaper and also want to see how it goes?
steroid tape for keloids is there any option to buy in goa

I got my keloid removed through surgery.. the keloid hasn’t grown back but has a scar left behind! Any suggestions to lighten the scar?
Hi Shirley! You could try various scar treatments that are on the market, like scar cream, silicone tape, hydrocolloid bandaids.
Is it painful?
@@ruthnaomicasignia112 The scar treatments above are not painful. And I haven’t experienced pain with the steroid tape either.
Does the tape hold? is it sticky?
Yes. It’s extremely sticky.
I had a keloid develop on my shoulder after having a mole removed. I had the shots, just grew back to it's pea size. Then I had it removed and it came back even bigger. I read some story about strapping it down with duct tape for about two weeks. I had surgical tape (Transpore in South Africa) and it worked. Two weeks later the lump had retreated back into me! That was 5 years ago...
Did it come back, did you put the duct tape over the surgical tape?
That sounds amazing!! I’m so happy for you. I’ll look into that surgical tape.
@@sayedero hi, so it was originally the size of a pea and then after I had it removed it came back about the size of a small olive. Once I had applied only the surgical tape (no duct tape) it's almost like it went back to it's pre hypertrophy state I guess and the scarring has been slowly disappearing. It would probably be completely gone if I kept doing it but it's good enough now.
@@indiajasiri a miracle worker FOR ME. I spent thousands on everything I could and then this easy fix. Truly hope it works for you and everyone else who sees this... lmk how you get on!
@@indiajasiri if you've ever used kinesiology tape, it's a similar application. You "anchor" the tape on one side and then stretch it over the Lloyd (he had a name in our family how embarrassing) and "anchor" it down on the other side. Almost as if it's pushing the Lloyd back into you...
Have you tried kt tape?
I have a roll that has been sitting on my dresser for over a year 😒I think KT tape might be helpful for loosening up my hypertrophic scar but I can't see it working for my keloid scarring. Have you tried it?
Have you taken steroid injections before? They didn’t worked out or what?
I have. They helped with pain temporarily for about month or two at a time when my keloids were larger, but they’re painful and did not help with preventing regrowth. I had them after my 3rd surgery as well.
India Jasiri oh okhay. Thanks for the reply. I’m getting steroids. And they slowly working. I guess it takes months to work . Not immediately. And have you heard about radiation therapy?
@@RRM005 Yeah steroid injections are definitely a long game! Hope they work for you. I have heard about radiation therapy and my 2nd surgeon used a form of it to try to prevent regrowth
India Jasiri oh yes, steroid is a long journey. I’m hopeful. Also I’m gonna order this tape. I hope both of them work out🙈 and if not then last is radiation therapy 🥺 .. thanks for the guidance. It was nice talking to you. And HII from 🇮🇳 to India hehe.. 😌🙏🏻 namaste
@@RRM005 haha namaste :) and best of luck ❤️
