  • Hi all,
    I am so sorry that this update was so long-awaited.
    I haven't been using the tape as often as advised by my derm, and I do think my keloid is starting to grow back.
    I'm a bit disappointed of course, and though I'm pretty reluctant, I think I will try steroid injections again to see if it'll help flatten and with the pain.
    I do think the tape will work really well for hypertrophic scars, so I'm going to start to wearing it on my hypertrophic regularly to test that out.
    Hope you're all staying well. On that note- please watch until the end; I have a special request on behalf of one of my best friends.
    Here's the gofundme link if you can donate: www.gofundme.com/f/tgnts-sudd...
    Thank you and much love,
    India

    Thanks for updating! Been waiting for your update while I got myself the same tape around Feb this year and started using since then. My keloid is on the chest, around 3X4 cm and saw changes only around May. Has been flatter except one side of the edge and shows no sign of aggression with improved colour.. its definitely working for me

    thank you for posting this update. i have keloids on my chest and just got the keloid on my ear removed 2 months ago. my chest ones have always responded well to steroid injections. they’re super painful but i think they’re worth it as they break up collagen and stunt the keloid growth. you may need more than a couple injections but don’t lose hope! as long as the injections don’t make the keloid worse, i do recommend them

      I've been thinking about it, and I think I'm beyond scared of getting them again because I feel like they're going to stimulate growth and make it worse 😭But my ear keloid is smaller than it has ever been...so maybe it will be better. I'll have to take a chance.
      I'm glad your chest keloids have responded well to the injections!!

    Thank you for sharing your experience. I bought some of this tape about 3 months ago because of you. I didn’t have keloids but had small hypertrophic scars that this tape has done wonders for! Also for your arm, maybe try putting a small stripe of KT (kinesiology) tape over the steroid tape to help it stay on

      Happy to share! I am really glad you're seeing such great results on your hypertrophic scars 😍
      I think I read somewhere that there shouldn't be anything covering the tape at all, but I can't remember where I read that so maybe I made it up 😂 I might try to cut thin pieces of the KT to secure an edge or two to be safe. Thanks for the tip :)

    I feel your pain. You were so young when your keloid journey began and it's been with you most of your life.😢 I had a nasty keloid burn on my chest when I was just a toddler and even had additional unflattering flaws like a port wine birthday dead on my face! So I've spent my entire life disguising my flaws. I could write a book...

    Hi India, have you tried the “Nuvadermis Premium Medical Silicone Scar sheets” ? The box lists different type of scars including Keloid which these can be used on. I’ve been using these sheets on a couple of old hypertrophic scars, I gave up on these scars years ago, since I tried so many different things, including lasers, other brand of silicone sheets, tretinoin, you name it! and nothing seemed to work; I decided to give these sheets a shot and I’m seeing improvement!! It’s been 2 weeks since I started using them. It doesn’t hurt to try these if you haven’t already.
    I know the struggle, discouragement, self esteem gets affected as well, so I want to say Thank you! For sharing your experience and open up when you didn’t have to do it. ❤ sending you good vibes and praying for you so you can get the results you want!!🎉
    PS. You’re such a good friend, I donated to your friend cause, wishing her all the best, may God bless her and help have a healthy life❤

      Hi Kat! Thank you for your comment. :) I have tried silicone scar sheets here and there throughout the years, but I don't think I've ever been consistent. 🙈I think the effectiveness of silicone sheets for keloids is quite minimal, especially for very large/thick ones, but I do understand how they work and see how they definitely help flatten hypertrophic scars over time. I have some sheets still; I might try to be consistent with them sooner or later, haha. I'm so glad to hear you're seeing some improvement already!
      I appreciate the thanks! I am enjoying helping people even just a little, and am always rewarded when kind people such as yourself feel comfortable enough to share right back. I'm also sending you good vibes and praying for you. ❤ And a huge huge thank you for donating to Jess's cause; that means the world! You are so kind 🥺

      Thanks! The study I read seemed quite promising for the young kid's (huge) keloid on his back, but that to me says that age of the keloid may have a bigger impact than I ever thought possible. The flatter the better for sure

    Hey, I got the Japanese tape about 2 months ago and have been wearing it every day for 24 hours. I can’t see that it is making a difference yet probably because it is still so early to tell. There is some thickening in the spot where the keloid was and I’m wondering if I should call my doctor and request steroid shots again. I’m sorry to hear about your experience with steroid shots. A lot of people definitely do say that they are painful and I hope that the pain isn’t too intense for you this time round. But from what I am seeing, it looks like the size of your keloid has certainly reduced over the 3 years. Other than the pain you’re now starting to feel, do you feel any thickening or like there’s a small ball inside it?
    Thanks for sharing about your friend. I made a donation to her go fund me. I believe in a God who is able to heal and who still works miracles so I will commit her situation to the Lord in prayer. Stay blessed and do not be discouraged. I’m praying for you and your keloid too.

      Hi! First of all, thank you a million for contributing to Jessica’s go fund me. You are extremely generous to donate to a complete stranger and we both are so grateful. Thank you also for the prayers 🥺
      After looking at the before and after photos myself; I was actually surprised that it didn’t look as drastically different as I thought it might. To me, it did look like the keloid has gotten a bit thicker in the center. The entire scar feels thick, not really a ball in the middle. I wish I could have measured the thickness.
      For you, it definitely could be too early to tell, but I feel like steroid shots might be necessary if you’re noticing it thickening. That’s what I’m leaning towards for sure. I hope it’s less painful this go around too, and if you get them, I hope they’re not too painful for you. Keep me posted on your tape progress! And thanks again you kind kind soul!

    My surgeon downplayed keloid risks more than I thoght was possible.... He didn't say it could be painfull... He told me I could do laser treatment if a keloid formed, then I learned the laser has to be done right after the procedure, and it's really expensive....

    • @indiajasiri

    Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! It's truly inspirational and brave of you to do so especially with everything that has happened over the years. As someone who is new to your channel, I was wondering if you spoke about the symptoms you experienced with the keloids. Such as a weird tingling sensation/pain burning or whether the area round your ear felt hard at the start. ❤

    • @indiajasiri
      @indiajasiri  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks so much for the kind comment my friend! I'm sure I have touched on some of the keloid symptoms I've experienced briefly in one or two videos, but haven't really focused on those before. My main symptoms were severe itchiness, and sharp burning-like pains throbbing through the keloid and sometimes shooting down my neck, from my keloids. Some more dull tingling feelings when my keloids have been in a growth stage. Are you trying to determine whether or not you're developing a keloid?

    • @IchigoSamx
      @IchigoSamx 10 місяців тому

      @indiajasiri Thank you for taking the time to reply back! It's super appreciated! Yup at the moment I am trying to determine if I have one on my lobe piercing of nearly 3 years old. The pain started a week ago with sometimes shooting down my neck. I also have the dull tingling sensations but I have no visible bumps yet. The area feels different than my other lobe and slightly more swollen. Hence the reason for trying to figure out what's going on even after the removal of the piericing a couple of days ago.

    • @indiajasiri
      @indiajasiri  10 місяців тому

      @@IchigoSamx Of course!
      And aahhh I see. Yeah, from the sounds of it, might be starting to keloid :( mine also started after I removed my earrings. For that stage I don't even know what I would try besides pressure earrings, which honestly is probably a little out-dated. But in this case as preventative, maybe will actually help.

    • @IchigoSamx
      @IchigoSamx 10 місяців тому

      @indiajasiri Hmmm ok. I went to see a doctor about this and they said it didn't feel like it's was a keloid as they've seen and treated keloids in the past at their later stage. There is a slight nodule inside the ear but again could be the fistula of the piercing channel.
      Did you have any visible bumps when you first took out your piercings or did the sensations start first? And would it be best to see a dermatologist or a doctor at this point since there are no visible symptoms for me atm?

    • @indiajasiri
      @indiajasiri  9 місяців тому +1

      @@IchigoSamx That could be so; my husband has a slightly raised bump (if you will) in one of his piercings that scared me at first, but it's not visible at all. It has stayed the same for the past 9 years.
      I actually took my piercings out because they started to feel infected and were bleeding a bit. Soon after, they started to grow. I honestly can't remember how soon after unfortunately; I was 8 years old. I'm not sure what preventative treatments exist now; but if a derm is accessible to you and not too pricey, I don't think it would hurt just to get it looked at.

      To be fair, the tape was not on 24/7 as advised by my dermatologist. But I do think that it has grown some during the span of trying the tape. Thanks for the well wishes!
