@@janviljoen7001 it's funny you mention that because here is the everly brothers growing their hair out like the beatles. so the beatles influenced people who came before them. even elvis grew his hair out
My first rock record was “Wake Up Little Suzie”. I was about 7 or eight and played it hundreds of time on a 1950 portable record player. My intro to rock…👍🏻👍🏻
They had been performing this song for almost 20 years at this point and still put so much love and soul into the performance. These guys were true musicians.
Impeccable harmonies. The Everly Brothers were amazing. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to see them perform live at Radio City Music Hall in the 1980s.
In my humble opinion, The Everly Brothers are the greatest harmonizing duo in the history of music, and I mean in all genre of music..Coming in second for me is Simon & Garfunkel...MAN, they were so so good with so many hits we can all cherish and listen forever.. RIP Phil and Don..
Even Garfunkel said he and Simon couldn't quite get to where the Everly Brothers were. He said you have to have the same DNA to reach their level. Of course Don and Phil's dad taught them to harmonize when they were very little. Like 6 & 8 if l remember correctly.
To me after hearing the Everly Brothers sing for the first time there were no other duets in the history of music. Both of them each had a tremendous voice but when you put them together watch out world!
...... in my heart, these two are the foundation of everything else after them. Voices of angels, served with that great, American, western kick, kinda aftertaste.
Fabulous, 100% live! It seems like two guys singing become ONE voice. The tone, intonation & diction is perfect. Don (on the right) is also a very good rhythm guitarist. Some duos blend real well together and you can still hear the difference in the tone of their voices. With these guys, there is basically no difference. LOL
Neil Young blatantly ripped off this wonderful melody for his Harvest Moon. It may be slower than the Everly Brother's great song above, but the melody is unmistakable.
Too bad the 2 of them hated each other for most of their time performing together. I think they eventually made up before one of them died a few years ago. LOVED their music!
We will never see their like again ! Totally and utterly unique
One of the best harmonies in the music industry
AND THE CARPENTERS.
The R and R model for harmony.
Big fan of theirs! One microphone, no autotune just plain raw taken! They were incredible. RIP Phil, God bless you both!
Yes, that is why Paul and George also had only one mic, to imitate the Brothers.

Phil was the best at harmonizing there ever was or ever will be.
Love the Everly Brothers, Don and Phil sang like angels ❤️.
It just seems they never hit a bad note, and they were in perfect time with each other.
So grateful that they became part of my life. They will never be forgotten. BEST DUO OF ALL TIME!
The BEST singing DUO ever.......You can't deny their greatness.....
WHAT HEAVENLY VOICES 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Aren't they amazing??😍❤

@@barbaraparker6996 Oh wow, I didn't know that...Thanks for the info...Cheers..
They sound amazing.
2 of the most amazing voices it is so sad they are no longer with us but hopefully theirvoices will live on
This song was played at my mum's funeral,😢 wish she would xxx

Their voices fit each other like a glove
RIP / The Everly Brothers ....You both are triuly missed...
They have the Best harmony ever!! Love their singing!!
Das ist mein absoluter Favorit der Everly Brothers
❤.
I still don't understand why these guys were not more popular than the Beatles.
Some people prefer upbeat pop to melancholy harmonies. There are a huge number of bands you could say the same about really.
...... in my heart, these two are the foundation of everything else after them.
Voices of angels, served with that great, American, western kick, kinda aftertaste.
Agree!
They were a huge influence on the Beatles
they were very popular WITH the Beatles
Beauuutiful
Man I remember sitting in my sister’s room listening to their 45’s on her stereo and so glad my mom kept her records. I was born in 1966.
Absolute perfection!
They clearly did the work it took to become perfect. Actual talent plus the correct amount of effort is something rarely seen in show business today.
Just beautiful music from them. Thank you, guys!
They were SO CUTE 🥰
Awesome brothers
Thank god we got this performance back, it´s so beautiful! It used to be on youtube, but disappeared... thanks for the upload!
Sibling harmonies are always the tightest harmonies, but Phil is on another level of talented!
I had heard once that familial harmonies are naturally the best due to genetic similarities..
Love the Everlys!
Combine two voices that sing as one, a beautifully written song and this is the results!
Majestuous harmonies. They had great influence on the Beatles.
So sweet the Everly Brothers
I finally learned the notes of this song on the guitar I made this random man cry with joy he literally fell to his knees
I’m like in love with the Everly Brothers and I love watching their past performances 🤍
0:58 - Phil's high note is absolute bliss. God bless The Evs.
JUST ROCK GODS - THAT'S ALL ~
cheers!
Such beautiful times... 🌹🌿🌹
Can't get enough of their sound....
Great songwriting by Sonny Curtis. The Bros made it their own.
Love this song haha. I feel like I'm a teenager in love...
My favoritesong by these guys
Very nice rendition.
Maravillosos, tan armoniosos. Siempre es grato verlos y escucharlos. Muchas gracias por compartir tan lindas imagenes.

Wow never saw this before Everlys singing in German and they still sound fantastic
Phil and Don - what a team!!
harmony goat
beautiful sounds
They were very influential. Bands like Peter and Gordon, and Chad and Jeremy picked up on the look and sound
the beatles too and the hollies, most bands of the 60's that had 2 part singers (harmony and lead) were usually influenced by phil and don
@@bluephalanx Simon and Garfunkel also, etc
@@empresaglova1268 you got that right!
The Beatles loved them and it was their harmonies they tried to imitate.
Love forever ❤️
Didn't know Frodo can sing that lovely!
i love this Song and the Everly,s
Now I know where Neil Young's opening guitar riff on Harvest Moon came from. (before you say anything, it's spelled, coincidence)
❤️
❤👏👏👏👏
They were huge years before the beatles landed.
The Everly Brothers could sing a medical report and make it great.
🥰🥰🥰
Sonny Curtis tune. He was in the Crickets.
I'm subscribed, and click the Bell notifications, but not getting your e-mails...wonder why. :(
It´s strange, that sometimes happens to me as well.

Guitar part sounds similar to Harvest Moon by Neil Young.
It is interesting that the Everly Brothers started out looking like Buddy Holly, style-wise, and ended up looking like the Beatles.
then Neil Young took the riff and put it on Harvest Moon very effectively
And to think that they were a whisker away from a life in the coal mines…
Liked the Marine haircuts better 😊
Am I the only one who think they look like Paul macartney and John Lennon here
