Greta van fleet is rock reincarnated. I truly and so happy to have discovered their nostalgic and untouchable talent.
Its not jist the vocals. This band is beautifully in sync and you can hear the connection between them all. A true Band!!!
Right on.
The more I listen, the more I feel like I understand how my parents would have felt experiencing Queen for the very first time. There is so much talent in this group and I'm so fucking excited for more.
YES exactly!!
you are experiencing just 1/10 of what they experienced with Queen.
@@farpsy Ah, yes, let us all judge a band with just two records out, instead of letting people expressing their emotions towards their art. Not only because this and some other bands are carrying the spirit of old school rock inside them, but because how dare they keep that sound alive! They're just "cover bands" we shall yell. Get over yourself, let people enjoy it in piece.

I can't get enough. 58 yrs here, these guys are AWESOME!!
58 here and these young men make me rock out like I'm 25. They are soooo effing good.
I'm 38 and grew up on Classic rock and I listen to modern rock, to have this is amazing because it fills that void of this sound we can't hear anymore in newer rock
Have you discovered wolfmother yet?? Joker and the theif??? Other songs by them?? Lmk ill introduce
I´M 52
I've just discovered GVF from people mocking them on TicToc. Wow, what a great BAND. That's right, a BAND with instruments and real talent. I get the comparisons to other power rock singers, but why do people say it's a rip off? It's his voice, he didn't steal his voice, that's what it is, and it's incredible. Their musical capabilities are amazing. The only comparison to the classic power rockers should be that there hasn't been a band as good as this since Led Zep / Queen days. People mock his actions on stage. I guess it's better to have no clothes on and just repeat vulgarities about modern pop culture over pre-recorded loop tracks.
I was mad people were mocking him but then I realized all the exposure the band is getting. Glad you like them!
They are truly amazing
People who mock them are idiots who do not know true talent. Glad to have you on board!😀
What we need now is the new music that these guys grew up on...so be it they sound like Zep ans Queen...but who does not love those

Yeah I really don’t understand the hate anymore. The singer feels every note of the tune in his soul, the guitar player knows that they’re creating magic, the piano player appreciates the fact that you can hear every note he’s playing and he’s not just a background part of the track, and that drummer is so fundamentally sound. They’re an extremely talented group.
Cause they're talented. That usually brings hate. I figure in 30-40 years all the haters will be "mega fans"
@@boxychubbo6922 cheesy ? Just like literally every rock band ever lmfao

@@boxychubbo6922 Sorry, but your comment is showing only your complete ignorance in music....hahaha
They were musicians since they were kids. And writing their own music since they were 12-14. That's pretty remarkable!!
Considering what Josh sounded like back in 2017 when he first started singing an early version of this song, I would say he should be applauded for his vast improvement. (It was...not good...)
It’s a shame there aren’t more true rock and roll bands like this. Metal core and metal have taken the spot but pure rock like this is so refreshing.
I second that sir,,,!
I think ripping music has run off a lot of them.
@@gregalot200 I was thinking of the controversy the other day. Instead of deliberately ripping off music, I think it has more to do with being influenced by it. They take me back to unique bands like Queen & Rush ❤️
Hard to say what's what in terms of genre. Many would say the likes of Elvis and Gerry Lee Lewis were the true "Rock and Roll". I figure this is "Hard Rock" but 🤷♀️

Tik Tok is the burning porch of Hell.
They are awesome 🙌🏻🙌🏻🖤
It's mad how accurately they've captured the feel, style and sound of 70's rock
and are amazing aswell
If Rush fucked The Doors in the ass and came out a baby Zepplin, you would have birthed this band.
Their instrumental set up is super interesting. They use a lot of vintage instruments and speakers. Definitely helps add to the overall feel of their music
Finally , music with heart and soul instead of just computer generated words.
These guys are truly talented individuals, not one of them has taken a lesson, they were self taught musicians who will win another Grammy and so on! I'm the old school rock n roller from the 70s and 80s and got tired of listening to same Ole bands and same old songs, Greta is a breath of fresh air and they have many years of writing great songs and winning more Grammy's! They deserve all the praise and good things in life! Rock on Greta!
I don’t give a shit what people say about Greta Van Fleet, what a gifted group. Sure I hear Led Zeppelin,a bit of Rush and on their heavier songs Josh has frontman qualities of the Great Bon Scott of AC/DC. They write their music, they remind me of music I grew up with in the seventies. I haven’t heard a modern band this good since Ghost. Keep rocking men, you’re the real deal!
Totally agree! I also hear some Triumph in their sound too. 💯🎶👍🏻🎤
Rick Wakeman the band YES, A little RUSH, Of course ZEPPELIN, Josh has a voice all his own, great guitarists 🎸 n really tite rhythm section, soooo good
You can't use RUSH in the same sentence as these guys. I do agree with the heavy YES influence.

Rafa Said A band has to have their own sound and voice. Fortunately for GVF they came out at the right time. If it was the 70's 80's, 90's or early 2000's they would of lasted a year popularity and faded out.

I get so pissed when people hear his voice and say “this is satire right” like… their parents must of raised them on crappy music
Anthony Fantano summed it up best by saying that it’s nothing to do with their musicianship or production, it simply comes down to their lack of originality. They have no creativity, they just keep trying to sound more and more like Led Zeppelin rather than creating their own identity. They are a cover band without the covers.

Was sitting in a bar last night and heard Always There. I'd heard plenty of GVF before, and obviously heard the Zepplin influence. But something about Always There REALLY felt like Zepplin. They're good, but back then they would have been just one of a great many, instead of today's one of a very few.
Back in the old days there were much fewer distractions (cell phones, games, FB, etc.), and a musician found it so much easier to actually dedicate lots of time to perfecting their craft, like practicing their guitar for 6 hours a day for months on end.
@@durapoker How are you defining commercial success, exactly? They won a grammy (Best Rock Album 2019), they have multiple songs achieve placement on the Billboard charts, and they sell their music and concert tickets regularly. People like them and they have fans. It's okay if you don't like them and aren't a fan, there are certainly plenty of bands and musical artists that I don't like (I like GVF FYI), but making blanket statements ("no commercial success") have to be based on facts (yours wasn't) if you're going to use it as an argument...

Oh boy don’t check out Progressive Rock and Metal or Jazz Fusion. Your head would explode
I love this new content because in most of the tracks on this album he spends most of the song in this smooth voice that your just vibing to, then, he comes in with his growl near the END of the song. Almost like he's dangling it at you, making you want to hear him bust it out but it doesn't come-but when it does it's the most satisfying blast of vocal heaven you've ever heard. It really puts the music on a high pedestal, he makes you wait for the good stuff. I've listened to this song over and over for about two weeks now and it hasn't gotten old.
yodelling ... that's what it is and he does to finish every song they've done ...
yodelling adds nothing to the song
and takes away the impact of the non yodelling part

I discovered GVF because of the tiktok mockery and looked them up. This album, and in particular this song have been on CONSTANT repeat and running through my head even in my sleep. I’ve never experienced music that literally soothes my soul and heals my psyche like this. I feel so expansive and hopeful and happy in a way I haven’t felt in months. We joke about GVF having the pick of destiny, but in all seriousness there has to be something paranormal in this masterpiece. It doesn’t make any sense.
Thats what excellent good music can do to you man! Good luck forward from Norway :)
It made me feel human for the first time in a long time.
Literally same
I totally agree!! I work in Mental Health & they truly brightened up my spirit!! I'm a 70's baby & when I came across these young guys & their music, it brought tears to my eyes!! It's beautiful & it's real music & talent!!
They are just what we all needed right now and I believe in destiny…it was no coincidence. They’ve helped countless people come back and start healing from their pain, and I’m not sure whether they realize the full scope of how deeply their music affects us.
Thanks to Robert plant for bringing me here to this band. Long live RockandRoll.
They are gonna big big... This vocalist is a diamond in the rough
They are big already!
A “GAY” Diamond in the rough!

Josh has really gained control over his vocals...this entire performance is simply a masterpiece❤
It’s musical literature
Love how they sound almost identical live vs album
Its rare to get such a close sound, thats true talent. Anyone who talks shit about this band has no appreciation for what rock music is
Actually better because they are turned up to 11
He kinda looks like Benny Blanco right here
That is why they are a great band.
This masterpiece touches my soul. Every words and sounds are gifts and warnings to mankind.
Astounding. I'm alive again.
I was literally just watching the music video for this and wondering how it would sound live. Then this drops.
Any thoughts on using an acoustic guitar on the official video?
@@NaveenBosco I could tell that it wasn't all acoustic just from the mix it's most obvious with the slide at 4:35 but the song feels acoustic-y if you know what I mean so I don't mind it being used for the visual
Yep. Same here. Fucking strange, man. Cosmic.
This is not live though,...... its just a music video. Not actual live captured sound.

The future of Rock is in good hands! From a 53 yr old dude, I’m looking forward to following these saviours for the rest of my days.
Same here! And I'm almost 60 years old this year
I'm rather afraid that is the PAST of the ROCK - but maybe I'm wrong 🤫🤪🙂
I’m 17 and hate my generation’s music. GVF is absolute spiffylicious. If this is rock music than I love it and need to hear more of it.
@@ellemontgomery1037 If you haven’t discovered Rock yet then check out Led Zeppelin! Oh boy you’re in for one hell of a ride.
check out a band called Dirty Honey. probably wont be disappointed
I havent been moved by music like this since hearing GNR and Metallica as a kid.
The improvement of the singer is unbelievable!, He has gain voice control and he seems comfortable in the higher tunes than before ..great!
and we haven't heard the best of him yet.... already one of the finest voices in current music
I keep coming back and watching this whenever I feel down or depressed. It fixes the hurts with pure music. Real music played with true feelings. You hear this and feel it, if you can tune in.
Call them derivative, a cover band or what you will, but this old man's not heard music like this since his youth. The magic of of buying Led Zeppelin II, Fragile or Hemispheres in autumn and listening to them for the very first time. The older generation is desperate to recapture the rock of our youth and this band's songs bring a tear to my eye for times I know will never be regained.
💯 facts
What a beautiful testament to your generation❤
I'm 66 &couldn't of said it better!
It's been a while since I've come across a new band that could FILL THE VOID IN ROCK-N-ROLL!!!
BLESS T.PETTY,
D.BOWIE,L.REED, J.COCKER,L.RUSSEL,E.VANHALÈN🍻✌🏻🫶🏼⭐️🎸🎸🫡🎶🎶🎶☠️☠️
I have never heard of this band. I've been around for 60 years and I am bored to tears with most rock created after the '90's. I came across these guys on youtube and sat bolt upright. Not even sure if I like them or not but they are DIFFERENT. They have their own sound.....something so hard to do anymore. I'm paying attention!!!
Josh's vocal range is everything!!!!
This is the best voice of our generation.
Not even remotely close

Each member is so talented it's insane. The organ brings a majestic quality. Josh's vocals are ethereal, and this song can be heard in the heavens. Keep on growing and creating and know your fans love what you do!
The drummer isn't as much though.
Still remember listen to this song in croatia on the beach, with beer and a joint, with my best friend together, enjoying life, it was just amazing💖 this band is just amazing 👌
i am 65 and i can tell you that these are among the pioneers of the rebirth of ROCK in the mainstream
Y’all said the same thing about Wolfmother 😂
Rock is going straight back to the top with Greta Van Fleet, The L.A. Maybe, and The Dust Coda releasing the best albums of 2021!!
@@brabiz67 Wolfmother could have taken the top if Andrew didn't fired the bassist and drummer of the first album
@@tiago2189 damn, badass. Then we could have a band that sounds like every old band ever owning the charts.
Rock is dead because rock refuses to grow up and stop living in the past.
this will be their last record, well, maybe, maybe one more
A masterpiece. Mark my words. This band is one of those that will live on forever.
Sei , sempre vem cm essa de salvação do rock n roll, lembro da porcaria do the darknes, the Strokes ,falavam a mesma merda
"Masterpiece" pfffft. His singing is stolen and the band plays basic music. Nothing "masterful" about their playing at all.
@@abundantharmony they sound like rush and led zeppelin but you cant say there not ''masterful" its 100x better music then most artist or what ever the fuck you call them in this time period. the world has changed and this is much needed for are younger generation to find and hopefully bring back rock because we need to stop giving a shit about things and just have fun.
They are very talented. Hopefully they have growth and longevity together. Sometimes for reasons bands burn out.
mark your words?
Fucking hell Iv waited for 30 years for a band to sound like this again and iv only discovered them today. I'm from the yes. Rush. Jethro tull . Gillan . Led zep era and this is bloody fantastic. Thank god I stumbled across these.
Hi Mark .... try Von Hertzen Brothers as well .... i've been waiting since 1976 for bands like these .... there is hope for mankind ....
I like songs from most of those bands you mentioned. With this song I thought it was ok.
Best concert in a long while!
@@BeeCJ I hope this doesn't come off creepy or as a backhanded compliment (neither is meant), but you're very cute/beautiful for an older Lass. And you have a very positive, friendly, wise, and vivacious vibe.
@@justinw1765 thanks 😊
I seen an interview with Robert Plant, th man is impressed, what a voice 💕
Josh just casually hitting every note that shouldn't even be possible for humans to reach. This entire band is so talented. Can't stop listening. *EDIT: Hoping every vocal coach who reacted to this song who was questioning Josh's ability to hit the high notes live is watching this haha.
Actually this is not thaaaat high for head voice/ Falsetto. It is high but not unreachable. His technique will take his tall if he does not start look after himself and get propper training. You can hear a lot of cracks here.
Discovering the studio version a few days ago, I thought "man this is one of those bands who disappoints live...the vocals can't be recreated." I was wrong...very wrong.
@@fabiankehl3090 ....his technique is literally one of the most well trained carefully planned out things I have ever seen - which many many many professional vocal coaches have raved about. Notes and effects that look like they should be damaging, he does very safely for the most part, a couple performances here and there the growl can get him, but it is rare.
@@fabiankehl3090 thats part of his singing style hes a profesionally trained, if youve been listening since their first album its carefully done
@@calleerobinson4796 you can hear his fatique in recent live performances. He can reproduce everything because he is still very young. If he does not change his style, he will damage his voice. 63 yrs old. A musician all my life. Not easily impressed. I am impressed 🙏
Right?!? 61, haven't been a musician since college, but music is life and these guys are the stuff of legends!

GRETA VAN FLEET, i clicked on this yesterday, never heard of them, and it was so interesting, i couldnt, stop listen!!, i had to hear all their songs, it took me back to my youth 50 Years ago!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!

Shame on you:D Im following them for few years already. And im on Romania, not Detroit as you.
Wow They've been around for a few years already met them in 2018 but the band exist since 2012
I know Van Skip! Right? Same thing, but I found them 'bout a month ago, believe it or not, by way of seeing GVF referred to in comments on a diff vid of another new rock-n-roll band, 3 girls from Belfast, Ireland!!!! 2 sisters and a friend 🤷go figure, what's goin' ON?!?! 😜 LOVE that rock is getting a hand up from a very long nap!!? 😱 These guys r the REAL DEAL!!! 🌪️👀🌪️👀🌪️👀 And check out Dea Matrona! These girls are sooo cool....they've had an EP out and I think their 2nd is available NOW! TBH, I have been pre-occupied with GVF for the past month, so I've missed Dea Matrona's stuff they've been working on. They do covers and their originals, which are amazing. They do covers of 60's,70's music...ie. Hendrix, Beatles, Black Sabbath, LZep, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Rait, and Fleetwood Mac, soooo you can see their wide range of talent. Their originals create their own new sound of rock/country rock, and just like GVF, they have been influenced, but through musical talent and ability, created their own sound! The 3,2 sisters and a friend, of them, the 1 sister & friend do the vocals and harmonies that are right-on!!! Sorry to be goin' on about Dea Matrona in the comments of GVF, I don't think they'd mind, bc they go together like PB&J😂 that's how I got GVF's name, bc the guy suggested that it would be cool if DM opened for GVF🤷Ya never know....so if you're listening guys (GVF), give the girls across the pond a call....I'll be at that concert with bells on, for real!!!?? 😜🌪️👀🌪️👀🌪️😱🌪️👀🌪️👀😱🌪️👀😱

@@hummhed Stop gatekeeping music. It's stupid and you sound stupid. It's a genre of music, of course it's going to sound like bands of the past - they literally pioneered and popularized the genre... But the fact that music is still being created in a genre such as this that's dying because of lack of interest and traditionalist gatekeepers crying and whining about new artists coming to fruition is hopeful for most people and encouraging. Unless they develop a new guitar and drum set that creates new sounds and a new tempo is discovered in musical theory, all classic and progressive rock is going to sound like old classic and progressive rock.
We use to call this art rock in the 70’s. I hope they stay on this path and don’t stray towards the blues just to appease the cloned masses.
