Folks, when GVF released Black Smoke Rising, everyone was crying that they sounded like Led Zeppelin. So they brought out Anthem of a Peaceful Army which was a different direction, and the critics hated it. They wanted more Black Smoke Rising.
These guys are damned if they do, damned if they don't. So you know what? F the critics. These guys have brought real rock n roll back. Let's be thankful a young group of kids have done what they've done, and continue to do it this way. Whatever they sound like, they sound like Greta Van Fleet. End of story.

Oh, boy. I’m a 73 year old lady, born in and having experienced the golden era of rock and roll. The “lucky” ones as they often call us. Having enjoyed all those great bands from the 60s and 70s. As I got older and life a bit quieter, I discovered many interesting rock and metal artists of the 80s and 90s And I can even appreciate a bunch of them. I thought then, that’s it, anything after this as far as new artists, forget it. I thought after discovering the prog metal band “Dream Theatre”, 2 years ago and being totally addicted to them, there would be no more! Well, that was a big mistake! This band totally got me sucked in. Yes, I am a huge fan of Led Zeppelin. And yes, I am a sucker for this style of blues/hard rock. And yet it is so mesmerising! There is something different about them. They manage to have the hairs on my arms stand up. There is a special vibe in their arrangements to get to the wonderful end results of their songs and there is certainly astounding musicianship. All 4 of them. Their songwriting stabs you straight in the heart. With 3 of the same family so in tune with each other, you’d think the 4th member would have trouble blending in, but no, what amazing talents!! I hope they keep their cool and don’t get sucked into destructive behaviour patterns. I’m looking forward to the music their future may gift to us. ❤❤❤

With every song I've heard from them, including the ones released so far from Starcatcher, there comes a point in the song when Jake makes his entrance...some times we get lucky with an opening like this too. But anyway, there is a moment in every song where you can say to yourself, even though he's been playing the whole time, "where's Jake"? Then it comes...when you say "there he is!".....and the drifting into oblivion begins.

I am a fan and Ive seen these guys in 2018. They are a talented group of guys about my age and they inspire me to continue playing guitar and the other instruments I play. My dad was one of the biggest Led Zeppelin fans on the planet. He saw them about 15 times over the 12 years they played. He lived in la so they played at least 3 times at the la forum. He even met John Paul Jones and John Bonham when they bought studded leather jackets for the band from his boss in the early 70s . He even met Page and Plant when they toured in tbe 90s. I saw these guys with my dad when I saw them. He really liked them and said if they can get a few more albums out, they'll really mature and find their own sound. My Dad and I really enjoyed going to concerts together. Ive seen Greta Van Fleet, Roger Waters, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, and the rolling stones with my dad as well as some.cover bands. Out last concert was the rolling stones in August of 2019 on their last tour. He passed away a few months later from undiagnosed cancer we didn't know about till 2020. He loved rock and roll and has so many stories from all the different concerts and celebrities he has ran into over the years. If he liked these guys you know there a good band. @@naniii740 Yes. Touring is brutal on a vocalist like Josh. He doesn't just sing comfortably. He PUSHES. And with the constantly changing climate from one venue to the next, people shouldn't expect the same precision he achieves on the records. But hey! THAT is live rock n roll. It's about atmosphere, connection, energy. And you really have to be there to fully appreciate it.
Having said that, I must say. I've never been disappointed by his vocals on videos of their live shows. Very grateful to have them! These guys are masters of the stage.
      Keep the joy, Greta!

In GVF I hear Zep, GNR, Rush, these kids are really talented and rooted in the best of classic rock. I mean 3 brothers and 2 are twins, really? Just a 61 SG and keys or bass, that's music in its rawist form, totally vunerable by todays standards and they kill it. There is something special about these dudes and I like it...I like it a lot.

This Band is all I've been missing for so long and didn't know it until I found them at last! This is also a new unique sound, but the Sound of the Band lets me feel like coming home, meet a long missed friend, and they let me feel young again, I'm 52 years old😊

I love to hear people mention they don't need booze or drugs in their gut to appreciate rock. Rock music is the only "real' drug or booze a person needs... if you let it do so? Peace.
