There is an even better live version, and this one is FANTASTIC. Josh is just a genius vocalist… and Sam is an amazing musician. Hammond Organ is no easy thing to play. Bass with the feet and keys with the hands. I’m a drummer so I’m very critical of drummers, and I feel like there is room to add to the drum parts for some of their songs, but overall he’s solid and always right on the pocket, and the guitars (I also play guitar) are always simple yet punchy and catchy. Josh anchors this band though. He is probably one of the best vocalists in music right now. People compare him to Robert Plant, but I think josh has more range and power. Music has saved me, emotionally, many times throughout my life and I know that is not unique to me. So many are struggling right now for many different reasons. What I enjoy most about Greta Van Fleet is how they make you feel, which is GOOD. We live in a time where we are being made to feel as though people are bad, to hate, resent, etc. Turn off your TV, stay off your phones (as much as possible) and go find something good each day. People are still good. There’s so much beauty in the world. Go find it. Listen to music and get inspired, creative, allow it to change your perspective on a difficult situation. Go take a walk, run, hike, swim. Talk to your neighbor, go run in the woods and look at the trees, moss and birds. Listen to your kids, and their music- Love your kids and then love them some more.
Love this! God Bless you ❤️
You are a genuine soul. I felt every word you said.
Wow man, that's beautiful
One of the most wholesome comments I've ever read. Thank you.
So true ! 🤘🌈☀️🤗🇹🇩 Such a beautiful story !
I’m very rarely left speechless…. His voice is other worldly. 🤯
He's got a mix of Robert Plant, Janice Joplin, Grace Slick and Freddie Mercury in that voice and stage presence. I love this shit.
And don't forget about Geddy Lee from Rush. I think he is going for that sound more that
Robert Plant at this point.
Glad I'm not the only one hearing janis joplin lmao
You have to include Jon Anderson of Yes.
yes!
Freddie would've loved him ❤
just wanted to hug them and say how much their music means to me and preserved my sanity and spirituality
That's what good music makes for our lives. They also changed mine. A hug for you and let's continue enjoying the revival of classic rock 🙌🏽
@@doctormaxton they're building a community of people who just want peace and connection with music, something rare among people who enjoy rock today. much love to you, man.
Yeah man, it’s insane how much authentic rock like this can help with spirituality. It truly is music for the soul
Amen sister
And that voice without autotune, so rare these days.
Sad but true
So civilised.
@@deanmurphy7307 oh dear, you’re right.
sorry to break it to you but there is a little bit of autotune. Listen very close to the chorus
@@RoseStrohm Yeah nah. Youre imagining things.
For as long as I can remember I’ve listened to metal, and I could never really get into Greta Van Fleet. I saw a short of this song the other day, and it’s now officially become one of my all time favorite songs. These vocals give me chills.
As others have said, I wish I could go back and hear this song for the first time again, absolutely beautiful.
SAME
The high notes almost make me burst into tears. So incredible.
NO ONE else this age is doing this.
You see how the crowd on their other videos is collectively fucking losing it??
These guys have got IT, and may be a fresh hope for real rock and roll.
There's ONE other guy that does this, but that still tells you how rare it is. Look up Sturgill Simpson performing Call to Arms on SNL. Not the same style, just the sheer, blistering presence and power.
@@phantasmicyouthSturgill is fantastic, Sound and Fury is my favorite album of his, even though it's outside of what people expect from him. I think that was the point through. Pretty cool to have a country artist slid into my massive rock playlist seamlessly though.
The fact that this is live is literally incredible
But is it? The stage is not Jimmy Kimmel's. It's their own stage with their own sound and light installation. Look at their other videos.
It's not, where is the bass player?
The bass is played on the organ foot pedals.
@@benedictearlson9044 the youngest in the band, he is on piano and plays with few the bass pedals
These guys rock like it's their purpose in life. Love the style and talent. There is hope for rock yet!
Josh’s vocals from 3:16 are unreal. Hitting not only those high notes but adding in the yodels and sustained notes too. Absolutely out of this world!
Josh 3:16
i’m so glad i’m alive at the same time as these guys
My 69 year old dad and 15 year old daughter introduced me to these guys. Quickly becoming obsessed, my god!! Stunning musicians!! Swells my heart ♥️
They’re amazing aren’t they? Chills every time ✨🖤
If a man can’t make me happy then Greta van fleet can.
That’s where I’m at too! 😁
These young men are carrying the torch for real Rock music. A rare gem these days.
Real rock is innovation not copying.
Agreed!
@@tonycantskate they’re not copying anyone. Ask Jimmy Page...
@@tonycantskate lol you are dead wrong bro. Literally every famous rock and roller stole music from each other. Most of the early famous rock songs are stolen blues songs from southern black blues artist of the 20s-50s.. and etc
@@TheMellowYellowDrummer exactly. That's why i stopped thinking of them as my hero's. Plus rock is a huge genre not just the 60-70s
This is the ressurrection of rock and roll. Nothing else.
I really dont understand how anyone couldd not live this.....the vocals alone are perfect in everyway..very very talented
Just heard them for the first time and I am 61, one of the few rock bands I have heard in a long time that I really like.
Josh nailed every note, best performance of the song yet, better than the record track, and one of their best performances in general so far.
It seems lip sync
How can I be so proud of someone that I've never met?!
Watching history being written is a great feeling to be apart of. These guys are special.
Omg I totally feel the same! Glad to be along for the ride! Gonna tell the kids this is rock!
I been saying this Band mark my words will become a World Wide Phnomenom ,bring back a styles that may have been lost Bravo
All of those discovering them I would like to say welcome to the peaceful army
Omg the hammond organ is the such an underrared instrument in rock music
I love the Hammond sound ...
i remember the Hammond with Greg Rollie
I totally agree. The Hammond has an intrinsic soulfulness.
It's back , baby !
I remember the Hammond by Ian McLagan. Rock on and RIP Small Faces.
Seen them on TikTok and my god now I am obsessed
haha I discovered them last year from that moment , totally obsessed ...... they're very funny, unique and has an impressive knowledge about music
Welcome aboard. They’ve been around a few years tho
Tiktok can be such a blessing sometimes. This group is a new fav
Same!❤️
Despite Josh being a little sick, he delivered a strong performance! Thank you boys, always making life a lot more brighter
How do you know he’s sick
Sick ? What are you talking about?
Josh not feeling well again ??
He seems to be unwell (sick) on a relatively regular basis !?
Yeah i noticed a few times he struggled with his voice it was raspy but not a healthy raspy like the ones i love hearing from him ( like for ex when he sang - Can you *hear* that dreadful sound- after he sang -But to save the lives of those who do so- I hope he is ok and that he is not having trouble with his throat or vocals
I could hear he sounded like he had a slight cold. Even so he nailed it.
Cannot believe im 3 years late. Now listening to their music for the first time, on behalf of those wishing they could hear it for the first time again hehe
Guys, just imagine: the pandemic is over. After all this time, we are finally able to see each other again. Meet our friends or make new friends while waiting in the line. Then waiting inside the venue. The excitement, the whole atmosphere- it’s something else. And then- the boys go on a stage. And we have a chance to experience this. A whole magical show. Ahhh how I miss this :( ✨
I experienced it before the pandemic thank god. It was amazing! I was front row! They sound EXACTLY like this live. He is singing live here! Very good! The solos were amazing too! ❤️❤️❤️✨✌🏻
I can't wait for that time to come 🥺 it will be MAGICAL. And hopefully the music will get us through these times now. Thank you boys for taking us on a metaphysical journey with you. 🥺✨
And now, everybody: ✨...my whole world ended the moment you left me...🌠
@@no1nestandsalone387 Yes!!! They ARE playing live, and that whole experience at concerts is just amazing!
I saw them few months before covid! This boys had the whole venue tripping! The level of music I saw that night was absolutely insane
Yeah! This will be a great song for the concert to start with.
Man, who are these guys? Are they the resurrection of 70’s rock gods?
Man, their voice, guitar solos, music styles make me nostalgic. I am not 70s born but I always missed those wisdom of rock, heavy metal.
I am lucky now, because this band exits …. My future will be full of 70’s mood…
Marvelous
Was anyone jamming along and then all of a sudden you wanna just cry? The emotion and purity in this song is just next level
I have been feeling that every time I hear this song!! I can't describe what it is, I feel so many things at the same time, and I have a huge smile on my face but I want to cry so bad at the same time!!!!
I know, that soft emotion we try to hide. I'm going to put on some Motor Head now to try to make it go away.
God Im glad I'm not the only one. Ive had a rough last year and just the wave of warmth I feel listening to this just breaks me down.

@@larryspiller6633 Thank you for the kind words. Appreciate you brother.
These guys are epic live!! Almost better than recorded!
It's all recorded, there's no bass player! 3:14 a strum you don't hear. Plenty of other cues.
@@benedictearlson9044the bass player is the pianist, he is playing the bass pedals with his feet like he always does when he is on piano. Everybody knows this about Sam Kiszka. Have you lived under a rock or whaf?
Sorry haters. You'll see in about 5 years that these guys irrefutably led the rebirth of rock and roll.
Can't wait!
Fingers X
I’m hoping this happens!!!
2 years man, 2 more years
As my mom used to said: Primero Dios mijo!
Josh’s voice is absolutely unreal. The dictation, the range, the control. Absolutely stunning!
Don’t forget consistency. That’s the hardest part.
One day these guys will be able to afford shoes for the whole band
Times are tough lmao
The cost of sparkly pyrotechnics have sky rocketed!
Lol!!
They choose to go barefoot it’s a choice
They'll buy you some too on their way to the bank.
Every line in this song is wonderful poetry.
This is probably the best comment you could wrote.
That kind of poetry makes me cry every single time when I listen to "Heat above"
I am 60. My very first concert was The Rolling Stones in July of 1978. I saw Cheap Trick a month later. These guys give me the same vibe I felt 45 years ago. Unique, charming and mesmerizing lead man with a colorful yet talented band backing them up. Rock and Roll has needed Greta Van Fleet for decades. Thank you guys!
If you cant feel this, you should try harder. This is as universal as air
I wish there were words to explain how their music makes me feel. this song makes my brain feel like a glitter explosion.
You explained it pretty well lol
I like it
I'm a grown-ass man already, but still I shed a tear or two watching this. GVF is fire!
His voice is a miracle. It looks effortless for him. I absolutely love all these guys.
@Ren Adams Cam wth? Is there a full moon tonight or something?
Do you have a voice like his? It's a gift, man. That's all I'm saying. No comparisons.
That's exactly how I see him singing... effortless!!! These kids are so talented
Stage presence. AMAZING. Voice! AMAZING!! He is actually singing instead of humming 95% of his stuff
Josh's vocal is amazing in this masterpiece
3:16 love Josh’s ability to scream and yodle 🤟
This song was my introduction to this AMAZING BAND. This is my new anthem.
Check out there other music... and welcome to the Peaceful Army!
Mine was black smoke rising and it was them sitting at a radio station, they performed it for the host and from then on ive loved this band. they are awesome seen them in 2019 in Nashville they were awesome live.
Me too! I would highly recommend Stardust Chords by them, about 1:30 init the song my soul left my body and went to Rock&Roll Heaven
I could listen to the *drums pound* lyric on repeat for the rest of my life and it would never get old
Every once in a while a band comes along that changes the planet......
Its here........
Yeh good band and all that BUT Eh....specifically what's changed? Are we taking economics, health care or global peace? Just curious in case I missed a life defining event.
