    Daughter-in-law sent us this video link. We will be learning to do this over the Thanksgiving holidays with two daughters in law, and possibly three granddaughters! Looking forward to it. While the guys hunt at the ranch, we will be making the blankets in the cabin. 😍😍

    I've never been crafty, so you were talking to me. I'm nervous about my very first crat project. I've bought my skeins, and going to try to follow these directions the best I can. I want to thank you for your very Slow Step by Step instruction. This was my first attempt to do this kind of blanket. I fell in love with the colors of the yarn, so I bought them. I then tried to find a tutorial that I could understand and follow after watching many and was going to give up I came across yours and Wala I have my first Chunky Knit blanket. I have to say it took me several rows before I got the flow of it, I did not undo all that I had done I just kept going and you can definitely see when it kicked in😁

    Yes, I thank you also! I mean i'm a year or more late to the party about these blankets and was going to take a class. Then my girlfriend told me about a Valentines class last week and it just inspired me to get back into crafting. So, I want to sign up for the class because my gf said she & a few others tried to do it by watching UA-cam and hers came out like a "Triangle of sorts", lol so I've been watching a few people's video's and glad I came across it. I actually had watched it before but I like that you take it at a slower pace & I can stop, rewind etc too (haha) but I enjoyed your video very much and Thank You! I already had done the braid part but was getting stuck at the main step #2. Now I think I got it! LOL I think! Hi Rose, love love your video. First time making one of these blankets, but so excited to try. I want to teach my granddaughter how to make one of these blankets for her new sister. I have watched other videos but yours is by far the easiest to follow. Thank you for not rushing through, your calmness helps me to keep going. I have had to unravel my blanket several times because I tried with other videos but their instructions were not as precise and easy as yours. I will let you know how it goes. Thank you so much :) I can't believe you have 7 children, where do you find the time?

I didn't want others to struggle as much as I did :) YES 7 kids! My older three are grown and out on their own so I have my four little ones at home. They love to get involved and learn too. When I need a quiet moment I try to film and work while they are at school ❤️❤️

    Hi, I have a question but first wanted to say that I absolutely love this tutorial. You took your time explaining in great detail and your tutorial, along with this exact stitch, is going to help me create my second EVER crochet anything 😅 as a big 50" x 65" (I think...we'll see, i have 12 skeins of Bernat Blanket Big #7) blanket for my mom for xmas. My question is: if start my chain & want 40 stitches, at the end of the chain, I'll have number 41 stitch left off to the side...then follow your instructions to head back the opposite direction....am I going to keep a (technically 42nd) loop on line two or am I only going to count out a total of the 40 + 1 for each row until the end? I hope this makes sense 😅. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  8 днів тому

      Your question makes perfect sense! Yes it will always be 40 STITCHES plus you have that extra loop at the end of every row. If you were working crochet with a hook, this would be the loop around your hook that does not count as a stitch :)

    How do you determine how much yarn you need? I'd like to make one for my bed, was thinking at least queen size, may just go king (90" x 94" )

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  7 місяців тому +1

      To find the best recipe for that, what I do is create a chain and lay it across the bed to be sure it is as wide as I need it to be. I then work up 2 skeins of yarn and measure how long the blanket is at that point. Then I decide how long I need the blanket and figure out how many more skeins I need to buy :)

    I’m so glad to have found this! I’m going to make a blanket for my dad’s birthday in his favorite color.
    I was wondering- how many stitches do you use/would you suggest? I was thinking of making a blanket that could cover at least two people and sit well on the back of a long couch. I know the general advice of just eyeballing it and feeling it out, but I’ve found that I tend to under do it and won’t realize until I’m a few rows in. 😅

    What’s the trick to keeping the edges straight? My first try the bottom row was so tight that the blanket was all out of shape. I had to start over.

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  7 місяців тому +1

      As you practice your consistency for the size of the loops will get better. I do suggest your foundation chain being on the looser side. Just try your best to keep the loops about the same size. :)

  • @maggiemoore2221

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  9 місяців тому +1

      I’ve done that before! You can take it apart or if you don’t mind you can actually snip the loop and make a knot there then trim the excess. It the fanciest fix but it does work. You’ll be the only one who notices I’m sure 🙃

      Hi Jen
      Your y-tube video is the perfect teaching tool. Your instruction is easy to understand. Sometimes I find repositioning myself helps me follow your hands and your verbal direction. My sister and I made our first blanket over the summer and we made a few mistakes but we pulled some rows out and we were able to fix what we did. So my sister took that blanket home with her to Florida. I have finished my second blanket and I have to agree with you that it is relaxing, reduces stress and creating this beautiful blanket has made me so proud. I am already looking at yarn colors and planning to make my next blanket for my husband. But I now have a waiting list for future blankets my children and grandchildren all want one too ! You have helped me feel proud of this new and developing creativity I have found.
      The color of this completed blanket is limestone (black, white, gray) and it is just amazing. I will send you a picture if I can figure out how to do it. I really appreciate you wanting to share with all of us this wonderful gift you have.
      Thank You for sharing it with me. Diane Smith from Boston Ma.
