It’s because she made a mistake with the audio - she said to yarn over for all three parts of the stitch, but actually you just pull through the second part of it. You only yarn over before putting the hook through the next stitch and before pulling through the last two loops, not in the part where you should just pull through one of the loops. In that part of the audio she said to yarn over at all three stages…
      Hope it helps

This is a beautiful soft & cozy blanket. Thank you for the tutorial and the pattern. It is an easy pattern to follow and is much appreciated.
That said, I'm not as fast as the creator of this blanket but I'm fairly fast once I get in my zone. She obviously is able to crochet this blanket in 6 hours. That didn't happen for me.
I'm using 3 different colors #6 bulky yarn with a size 10 mm hook. It has taken me approximately 6-7 hours to get 1 foot of blanket crocheted. That means I have 4 more feet to go for a total of 60 inches and another 24 hours of crocheting. That's a total of 30 hours for the entire blanket. I'll need a border around my blanket as well because I tied the yarns together at the end of two rows/rounds per color and will need to hide the knots.
This is a more realistic time frame for a novice or intermediate- beginner crocheter. Still, it can be done in a weekend and that's awesome! Happy Holidays to you all. I hope if you make this blanket as a gift your recipient enjoys it for years to come.

This was super helpful, I’ve watched other videos and they talked too slow and went to slow when making the blanket. I’m going on a 16 hour road trip this week and am planning to make a few blankets! I love your other videos as well! ❤

I made this blanket once, and on my second one. The first one the 68 chain seemed to short so I added 10 stitches which I didn't think would be a big deal... I ended up adding 2 more skeins and now it covers my full/queen size bed.
I am now on my second one, the 68 chains still seems too short (I know it is an afghan but I like mine a little bit bigger) so I added 4 chains, I just finished up one skein and it seems like 4 wont be enough

hi how many chains in total did you use for the one that covers the full size bed? was it 68? thanks!

Yeah, the blanket used in the thumbnail seems like it would be way more than 4 skeins.

Any tips out there? I am trying this blanket for the first time. I have started over now three times trying to make my initial chain looser as 68 only measured 43" across this last attempt. I will try going even looser this time and hope I come closer to the 56" measurement that is expected for this. This is my test blanket before I do more, love the look of your designs.
